KIARA SITS ON TOP of her kitchen counter, watching her mom make her a bagel since kiara claims that she makes them perfectly -of course, she's just too lazy to do it herself. since it's only her and her mom around here, mornings are usually like this; kiara bothering her mom because she has nothing better to do.

"any plans today?" her mom asks in advance, knowing that kiara sometimes disappears and forgets to tell her mom.

"nope. you?"

"nope," her mom responds, looking at her daughter before suddenly remembering something. "oh, almost forgot to mention! your father is coming with his new girlfriend on saturday morning for coffee and i think it would be so adorable if he sees you all grown up with a boyfriend."

kiara spits some of the apple juice she was sipping on out of her mouth, quickly wiping it with the sleeve of her knitted sweater. "what?!" she panics, not even having a boyfriend.

"no pressure, i just think it would be fun if they see you for the first time in ages and you've already grown so fast."

"who would i even bring?"

"matt.. duh?" her mom answers, starting to spread cream cheese on kiara's bagel casually.

kiara's eyes widen, "..do you know how awkward that would be?" she starts, trying to imagine how embarrassing asking matt to do that for her might be. "we're best friends!"

her mom eyes her suspiciously at the term 'friends' but she chooses to not say anything about it. "just ask him and tell me what he says."

"fine," kiara gives in defeatedly, grabbing her bagel and hopping off of the counter, making her way out of the kitchen before she abruptly turns around. "dads coming?"

her mom nods. her mom and her dad have been divorced for almost kiara's whole life, but they ended things on 'good terms' for the 'sake of kiara', whatever that means.

this is a short chapter i apologize

this chapter is inspired by one of the chapters in 'OBVIOUS' by louis-core
u guys should read it if u haven't because it's a great book !

my stomach hurts because i'm hungry but it's 9am and every time i make myself something to eat i always end up dropping something and making a loud noise so i'm refusing. 😔

btw the next chapter has spoilers of the movie 'benji', so if u plan on watching it and don't want it to be slightly spoiled then u can skip it! i recommend watching it tho it's an amazing movie and makes me cry every time i watch it 😕
