SADIE locked her eyes on the blonde girl in the corner of her apartment, eyes glued to her phone.
"Hey, Superstar, wanna help us out over here?" She teased, watching as Juliette looked up from the device with wide eyes, "Huh?"
Noah laughed, arms straining as he attempted to hold up the halloween decoration, "Come help us, please. I'm dying!"
Juliette rolled her eyes playfully, placing her phone on Sadies counter and walking over to the arch by the front door, "Where do you want me?"
"Grab this end while I find the tape!" Juliette took the end of the banner from Sadie, the two switching places on the ladder, Juliette laughing as Sadie tripped over string to find the tape.
"So, how's Drew?" Noah teased, winking at the girl from his spot on a stepstool. Juliette cheeks blossomed pink under her blush, "He's good. Haven't seen him in a couple days."
"Wow, shocker. I thought you guys were welded at the hips." Juliette rolled her eyes at Noah, the boy raising an eyebrow at her, "Has he asked you out yet? Like, actually asked you to date him?"
Juliette bit her lip and glanced down at her foot, covered by her black tights, "Actually uh, I kinda asked him—"
"What!" Juliette gasped at Sadie's shout, a smile forming as the girl ran into the room, tape in hand and jaw hung open, "You asked him to be your boyfriend?"
"Jules-"
Juliette shook her head at Sadie and Noah, "No, no. I asked him what we were doing, and I told him that I wanted to call him something other than the guy I'm seeing, and he said I could call him my boyfriend, and that it's only fair that he calls me his girlfriend-"
"So it's official! Yes!" Sadie exclaimed, rushing over and throwing her arms around Juliette's knees, not bothering to let the blonde get down from the ladder. "I'm so happy for you, Jules. You deserve this so much. Your junior album is gonna be so killer-"
"Okay," Juliette laughed, cheeks blooming pink as she gently pushed Sadie away from her knees, "Hand me the tape, weirdo."
Juliette laughed at Noah attempting to balance his beer bottle on his forehead, a small crowd gathering around him in Sadie's lofty living room. The large apartment was crowded with partygoers in various costumes, all faces that Juliette somewhat recognized. Some actors, a couple of smaller singers, some influencers and some YouTubers.
With how loud the music was and how packed the apartment had gotten, no one would be able to tell when someone arrived or left, especially not Juliette, even in her 4-inch Mary Jane heels.
But through the crowd of people, where a couple had separated and created a gap, Juliette saw the side of Drew's face, the tall man slightly leaning down to mutter something in Madelyn's ear.
The blonde grinned and began making her way over to him, but was stopped by a hand on her arm. She frowned, stopping in her tracks to look at the source.
"Hey," Noah removed his ghost face mask, a concerned look on his face, "Uh, I don't know how he knew about it or how he managed to slip past us, but Griffin is here."
Juliette's stomach dropped, throat going dry as she spun her head around, "Do I need to kick his ass and get him out of here? Cause you know I'll do it, I've been waiting for an excuse to-"
"No," Juliette turned back towards Noah with a weary smile, "It's okay. Griffin's an asshole, and I have a 6'3" boyfriend that hates him. I'll be fine." Noah nodded, cupping Juliette's cheeks before bringing his mask back down.
When Juliette managed to move her way through the crowd towards Drew, she gently grabbed the sleeve of his white button up. He paused his muttering to Madelyn, who looked beautiful dressed in a Spider-Gwen one piece.
"And what are you supposed to be?" Juliette raised an eyebrow up at the man, who chuckled and shrugged, twisting his hip to show off the prop gun on his hip, "I'm a last minute James Bond. Party City had zero good costumes left." Juliette giggled, mumbling out a "Cute," before turning her attention to Madelyn, "Hi!"
The two blondes squealed and hugged, Drew smiling down at them as they pulled away and complimented each others costumes excitedly. "You look so cute!" Madelyn gasped, Juliettes mouth dropping open and shaking her head, "Me? Look at you!"
"This is technically last years costume too but I didn't want to think of a new one!" Juliette laughed at Madelyn as Drew reached out to grab her elbow, "Can I get you something to drink?"
Juliette glanced up at him with a soft smile and a small nod, "Yeah, yeah that'd be great. Don't go too far!" Juliette said to Madelyn as Drew grabbed the blondes hand and began dragging her towards the kitchen.
"What can I make you, miss?" Drew smiled, pushing his sleeves up his forearm and looking down at Sadie's extensive bar as Juliette hopped up to sit on the island counter. The marble was cold under her thighs, but she was too distracted by the way his arms flexed under the thin white material.
"Dealers choice, Mr. Bond." She winked at him playfully, Drew raised an eyebrow, eyes raking over Juliette slowly. The blonde shuffled under his gaze, watching as he smirked and spun around to grab a bottle of liquor.
Juliette watched him move, grabbing juices from the fridge and started throwing stuff together in the shaker. She giggled as he glanced back at her and winked, the blonde playfully rolling her eyes as he grabbed a glass, tossing some ice in it before he poured the drink. He obviously knew what he was doing, which was incredibly attractive and had Juliette giddy with excitement.
He plopped a straw in the drink and a lemon slice on the edge of the glass before spinning around on his heel and passing the glass cup to her.
Juliette smiled at the pink drink, raising an eyebrow up at him before cautiously taking a sip. It was sweet with a slight tang, one that she recognized. She swallowed, looking up at him in surprise, "Did you just make me a Sea Breeze?"
Drew shrugged with a smile, approaching the girl so he was now standing directly in front of her, "Maybe. You seem like a sea breeze girl."
She took another sip to cover her blush at his proximity, humming with a nod, "Totally a sea breeze girl." Drew chuckled, leaning his hands on the counter on either side of her thighs.
The two paused, locking eyes with each other for a moment. He was close, very close. So close she could almost feet his breath, she could smell his expensive cologne and could probably count the freckles that littered his neck.
"Juliette!"
The blonde snapped her head over at the kitchen door, where Sadie stood with Madelyn, excited looks on their faces.
"It's the song!"
Juliette tuned back into the music, eyes widening at the sound of Dancing Queen bouncing around the walls. "Ah!" She squealed, sliding down from the counter and rushing out with the girls, leaving Drew to grab a beer from the fridge and follow behind with a laugh.
Juliette smiled down at her phone, blindly reaching into the fridge to pull out another beer for her and Drew. Everyone was loving the photo she had posted on her story a couple hours ago, and she was getting tagged in posts like crazy of fans freaking out over Drew. She didn't necessarily want to keep her relationship from them, but she wanted to keep it quiet for a little while. Keep it out of the grubby hands of paparazzis and drama blogs.
She liked a fans post about her newest album, turning around when a figure appeared in front of her. "Juliette, hey."
She froze in her place, looking up from her phone screen to make eye contact with Griffin. He was in some dumbass cowboy hat and a plaid vest, looking like an asshole. Mustering up her strength to not punch him in the gut, she raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing here, Griffin?"
His face dropped slightly, smile faltering, "Well, it's a party-"
"One you weren't invited to." She glared at him, "I should've never told you Sadie's apartment building code."
"Listen, I just want to apologize. I fucked up, and I'm an asshole. But I still love you. And I've been talking to a therapist-" Juliette scoffed and rolled her eyes, readjusting her grip on the two beers in her hand, "Congratulations? You're doing a normal human thing? That doesn't excuse your actions and I don't accept your apology. You're a year too late, pal."
Juliette went to move past him, but he reached up and grasped her arm, "Juliette, I just want to talk. I miss you-"
"Hey, man." Griffins hand fell from Juliette's bicep, the blonde girl looking behind her where Drew was hovering over her. "You okay, Jules?"
Juliette bit her lip and nodded, handing the man his beer bottle. He smiled down at her and accepted it, before turning his gaze back to Griffin. "Uh, hey. I'm Griffin."
Griffin put his hand out to shake Drew's, but the man just glanced down at it before looking back up at him, "I think it's probably time you leave, man."
"Sorry," Griffin chuckled, scratching the back of his neck, "Do you own the place? Who are you?"
"It doesn't matter who I am, I'm telling you to leave, you weren't invited." Drew straightened his back, Griffin clearing his throat and having to bend his neck up to look at him. "Okay, you're right. I'm leaving," He put his beer on the island behind him, sarcastically raising his hands in surrender. "Later, Jules."
"Don't call me that." She glared at him, Griffin rolling his eyes as he spun on his heel and moved his way through the crowd towards the front door. The moment he was out of sight, she released a breath she hadn't realized she was holding in.
She spun in her heel towards Drew, sending him a weak smile and smoothing down her hair—a nervous habit that Drew had begun to notice. "You okay?" He spoke, reaching a hand out to caress her bicep. Juliette nodded, eyes locked on his button up as she ran through the conversation on her head.
"Wanna get out of here?" Juliette sucked in a breath, glancing back at Noah, who was dancing with some guy in the crowd. She turned her head back towards him and nodded, "Yeah, yeah. Let me go say bye." Drew nodded, squeezing her arm before putting their unopened beers back in the fridge, pushing his way through the crowd to find his own friends.
Juliette managed to squeeze her way into the living room, grabbing Noah's arm and gently pulling him down to whisper in his ear, "Hey, babe. Drew and I are gonna head out, just had an interaction with Griffin and I just wanna go. Drew is sober, promise."
Noah frowned down at her, but nodded. "Yeah, of course. Just text me so I know you're safe. I love you." Juliette mustered a smile, "I love you too. Wear protection, Smith." She winked at him and turned away, pushing through the crowd towards Sadie, who was leaning against the wall, JD hovering in front of her with his arm pressed against the wall above her head. Juliette paused, raising an eyebrow in confusion before approaching her giggling friends, "Hey."
Sadie cleared her throat and straightened her posture, frowning at Juliette's sullen expression, "You okay, babes?"
Juliette clicked her teeth and shrugged, "Spoke with Griffin, he's a dick. I don't wanna be a party pooper so Drew is gonna take me home." Sadie and JD nodded, JD looking out over the crowd, "Do Noah and I need'a beat his ass-"
"No, no." Juliette giggled and grabbed JD's wrist, "He's gone. Just enjoy the night, you two. Love you both, see you later!" Sadie kissed Juliette's cheek before the blonde disappeared into the crowd, moving her way towards Drew and Madelyn, who were speaking in a corner.
"Oh, hey. I'm sorry he showed up, girl!" Madelyn frowned, embracing Juliette tightly. The shorter girl shrugged with a small smile when she pulled away, "It's okay, I'm fine. I'm just not feeling well, figured it's time to call it a night."
Drew sighed softly as Juliette settled into the passenger seat, looking down at the cuffs on her wrists as she slowly peeled them off. "Do you want to come over to my place? It's closer."
Juliette tiredly smiled and lulled her head back against the seat, turning her head towards him, "It's only like 5 minutes closer."
"Still closer." He smirked, reaching his left hand out to brush her hair over her shoulder. "Mmm. First time seeing your place and I'll be dressed up as a playboy bunny. Making quite the impression."
Drew chuckled and rolled his eyes, "I'm taking that as a yes, then?" Juliette thought about it for a moment, mentally check marking feeding Lyla and giving her water, locking up her place and unplugging her curling iron.
"Yeah, we can go to yours."
