β... Sanemi is currently twelve, I don't know exactly when he turned into a demon slayer so I just decided to let his age be convenient for the plot.

"Sensei, I made you some ohagi! Your favorite!" On top of the mountain, where the two opposites met, were (Y/n) and Sanemi. Looking down at the small child, Sanemi scoffed and turned away from the boy and instead chose to sit down on the ground.Β
It has been four months since they met, and (Y/n) always waited at the exact spot where they first met for the first two months in hopes of meeting his idol again. One day, just out of boredom, Sanemi decided to revisit the place to see if the child got scared out of becoming strong, only to find, to his surprise, that (Y/n) was still training, and waiting.
After that, (Y/n) made Sanemi promise to always come there when the sun was about to go down. Surprisingly, he went and grew fond of his presence. Even though he doesn't consider himself (Y/n) master, things could change.
(Y/n) pouted as he watched his idol ignore him, only to quickly replace it with his smile. "Come on, Sanemi Sensei! At least try it!" (Y/n) exclaimed as he walked in front of the male. Sanemi looked up at him and glared. "Get lost, kid. You're like, what, six?" Sanemi asked him making (Y/n) smile happily.Β
"I'm seven!" (Y/n) replied, the fresh ohagi's still wrapped up. Sanemi tsked, "How the hell were you even able to behead a demon?" Sanemi growled at him, though (Y/n) just kept on smiling. "I trained! I trained really hard just like Tsukiyomi-dono told me to!" (Y/n) replied, clutching his ohagi's tighter.Β
Sanemi looked away from him and frowned, "I don't think someone should just let a kid train all day and night." Sanemi whispered, though quickly pushed away (Y/n) who tried to ask him what he just said. "It's nothing! Alright!" Sanemi yelled as he pushed (Y/n) away making him stumble and fall.Β
Widening his eyes, Sanemi got up and went over towards the fallen boy not sure what to do. Hearing crying, Sanemi clenched his fists and looked down at (Y/n) only to see him crying. "I-I'm sorry, Sanemi Sensei!" (Y/n) cried as he presented the ruined ohagi to him, his tears falling on the ground.Β
"I-I ruined your ohagi! I'm sorry!" (Y/n) yelled as he bowed down, the ohagi securely held in his hands. Looking down at the kid Sanemi looked away in guilt. Groaning, Sanemi rubbed his temple as he sighed. 'This kid...'
"Stop crying, no warrior should ever cry." Sanemi stated as he kneeled to face (Y/n) which made him stop bowing to also look at his idol. "Give me my ohagi." Sanemi ordered him, though (Y/n) only shook his head as he held back his tears. Sanemi growled, "Give it now!" Nodding, (Y/n) handed Sanemi the ohagi as he looked back down in shame.Β
"I didn't mean to land on it... I'm sorry Sanemi Sensei..." (Y/n) apologized once more only to look up at Sanemi due to the sound of munching. Widening his eyes, (Y/n) saw Sanemi eating the mushed up ohagi, his eyes looking away from the child. "It tastes no different whether it's mushed or not, so stop your crying, you idiot." Sanemi mumbled as he ate the other ohagi.Β
Staring wide-eyed as his idol continued to eat his homemade ohagi, (Y/n) frown turned into a bright smile as he nodded his head energetically. "Yes, Sanemi Sensei!" (Y/n) exclaimed, bringing his hands together as he continued to look at his sensei with sparkling eyes.Β
"Hey, kid, when are you gonna stop callin' me sensei?" Sanemi asked him in-between bites, though (Y/n) still understood what he was trying to say. "You're my sensei, though." (Y/n) replied, tilting his head in confusion at the question. Sanemi frowned at this and huffed, "I never agreed."
Frowning, (Y/n) looked down at his hands. "I'll prove to you... that I'm worthy of being your seito!" (Y/n) yelled in determination as he got up and pulled out his sword from its white sheath, putting it in front of him as he glared at a tree.Β
Sanemi tsked and continued to eat the ohagi that (Y/n) made him. 'Delicious...' Sanemi complimented (Y/n) in his head as he looked back down at the wrapped treats only to find one has somewhat made it.Β
Hearing someone fall, Sanemi quickly looked in front of him only to see (Y/n) getting up as he readied his sword once again.Β
"God's Breathing: Second Form - Trapped Lamp: Second Stage!" (Y/n) yelled, only for a small little vein-like thing to come out of his sword only for it to quickly disappear soon after. Hearing the laughter of his idol, (Y/n) hit his head with his sword as he readied himself once more.Β
Breathing in and out, (Y/n) glared down at the tree once again. "God's Breathing: Second Form - Trapped Lamp: Second Stage!" (Y/n) chanted once more, only for it to produce the same result from last time. Sanemi looked at him only to laugh soon after at the pathetic attempt of the (H/c)-nette.Β
"Honestly! What kind of attack is that! It looks like seaweed! Hey, kid, bring me some seaweed and I'll turn your stupid attack into a meal!" Sanemi cackled as (Y/n) clenched the handle of the sword tighter. "I... I can do it! Just give me some more time!" (Y/n) exclaimed as Sanemi finally was beginning to calm down.Β
Calming his breathing down, Sanemi folded the empty fabric which used to hold the ohagi's as he looked back at (Y/n). "Do you even know how to do whatever your breathing is first form?" Sanemi questioned him as (Y/n) looked back at him, nodding his head vigorously.Β
"Yes! I perfected it! It was quite easy, but the second form is a lot harder!" (Y/n) complained as he tried to do the attack again only for his sword to be stopped by Sanemi's. Sanemi looked down to see (Y/n) looking back at him, his eyes showing confusion.Β
"What do you do in your training?" Sanemi asked him making (Y/n) light up. "I run up and down the mountain two times every five hours. I swing my sword up and down 1,800 times. I do push-up and-" Putting his hand in front of the boy's face, Sanemi tsked.Β
"Do you honestly think that's enough to kill every demon?" Sanemi asked him, though (Y/n) only continued to look at him in confusion. "I mean... yes, Sanemi Sensei." (Y/n) responded, though, this only made Sanemi more annoyed. "Wrong! Do you think that training would have been able to save you from that demon that almost killed you four months ago?!" Sanemi asked him in a loud voice making (Y/n) flinch.Β
"If I tried my utmost hardest-"
"Enough!" Sanemi exclaimed as he turned away from (Y/n). "You clearly do not know how this world works." Sanemi stated as he began to climb down the mountain. Staring at his retreating figure in shock, (Y/n) quickly began to panic. "W-Wait! Sanemi Sensei!" (Y/n) yelled after him as he tried to catch up to him.Β
Once he was at his side, (Y/n) ran in front of him and bowed. "Please! If I don't know how this world works, then please show me how it does!" Looking up at Sanemi, (Y/n) clenched his fists. "I want to learn! I do want to kill every demon and protect everyone! So please, train me even if I'm in death's door!" (Y/n) yelled out, still bowing down towards his idol.
Sanemi looked down at (Y/n) and smirked, "You've got the fire, kid. Now let me see if you have the willpower." At this, Sanemi began to run away from (Y/n) as they headed higher up into the mountain. Quickly getting up from his bowing position (Y/n) grabbed his sword and put it back on its sheath as he tried to catch up with Sanemi.Β
"So you'll train me? You'll let me call you "Sensei"? You'll call me your seito?" (Y/n) excitedly asked him only for it to be popped when Sanemi shook his head no. "I'll do all those things if you pass a trail." Sanemi announced and abruptly stopped almost making (Y/n) get smacked by his back.
Turning around to look down the mountain, Sanemi smirked as he looked down at (Y/n). "Is it day or night, kid?" Sanemi asked him. (Y/n) looked up and saw that it was a clear night. "It's nighttime, why?" (Y/n) asked him only to see an evil glint in his eyes.Β
"If you're able to go down this mountain by sunrise while somehow surviving all the demons lurking around then I'll allow you to be my seito." Sanemi announced making (Y/n) panic. "Wait-!" (Y/n) yelled after Sanemi only to stop as he was no longer by his side. Gulping down the fear that crept upon his heart, (Y/n) glanced around the mountain as he sensed various auras that belonged to a demon lurking around.Β
"Here goes nothing..." (Y/n) whispered as he began to run down the mountain as fast as he could, the demons already being alerted of his presence.Β

Three hours have passed since Sanemi last saw (Y/n), and now he was leaning on a tree at the bottom of the mountain, Sanemi glanced over at the trees in hopes of catching a glimpse of (Y/n). "Nothing yet... I'll be surprised if he actually survives." Sanemi whispered under his breath.Β
'Now, maybe I should go save him. He does make some heavenly ohagi-' Hearing the sound of labored breathing, Sanemi turned around only to come face-to-face with none other than young (Y/n), all bruised up and bloody.
"I... guess I can... call you... Sensei... now." (Y/n) breathed out as he smiled happily, only to fall on the ground due to exhaustion. Looking down at the figure of (Y/n), Sanemi gave (Y/n) a small smile as he walked over towards the sleeping (Y/n). Picking him up Sanemi walked over towards the window of (Y/n) bedroom as he opened the window and slipped inside along with (Y/n).
Putting him on top of his futon, Sanemi backed away as he saw (Y/n) softly snore. Turning away from him, Sanemi climbed up to the window as he stayed there for a moment.Β
"Goodnight... (Y/n)." Sanemi whispered as he jumped out of the window and onto the soft ground.Β
