CHAPTER THIRTEEN:
THE OLYMPIC COVEN

1950

THEY HAD BEEN SEARCHING for two years for this Olympic Coven that Alice had been telling them about. It wasn't until they had arrived in small town in the state of Washington that they had finally found them. Alice had a straight forward plan that Emma was positive wouldn't work. As Alice walked up to the front door of the gorgeous home, Emma and Jasper stayed outside. Jasper was trying to sooth Emma, knowing the girl was extremely uncomfortable with meeting new people.

A woman with honey brown hair opened the door and offered Alice a small smile. The two talked, but Emma was too busy trying to focus on controlling herself than to listen in on the conversation. Jasper sent continuous waves of calm towards her, forcing the blonde to look at him as he tried to keep her from escaping into her head.

"Jasper, Emma!" The two siblings turned their head to look at Alice who was offering them and excited smile. "Come on!"

"It's going to be alright." Jasper assured her before grabbing Emma's hand and walking her into the home. Emma's eyes looked over the place before she was forced up a set of stairs. They were met with the leader of the coven. He posed as a doctor and was one of the best.

"I'm Carlisle." He introduced himself, offering the three a small welcoming smile. Alice smiled back whilst Emma shied away from him. "This is my wife, Esme."

"It's lovely to finally meet you both!" Alice smiled at them. "I'm Mary Alice Brandon, but you can just call me Alice." Alice then turned to look at the siblings. "This is my mate, Jasper Whitlock, and his sister Emma." The two siblings offered them a small smile.

"Why don't we talk in my office?" Carlisle suggested. Alice nodded her head in agreement before following after him. Jasper and Emma followed the pixie. They entered his office, Esme joining them as she closed the door. Carlisle stood behind of his desk, wrapping an arm around his wife's waist as he looked at the trio. "You're here because you want to join our coven, correct?"

Alice smiled as she nodded her head. "Yes, that is correct."

"Can you explain more about yourselves?"

"Well, Jasper and Emma don't really talk much, so don't mind them." Alice told him. "I have precognitive visions. I see glimpses of the future which changes based on people's decisions. Jasper over there is an empath, and Emma can manipulate chaos magic as well as reality warping." Carlisle looked intrigued by the small vampires words. His eyes briefly flickered to Emma before he looked back at Alice. The girl continued to explain, Jasper pipping up when Carlisle wanted to know more about the two siblings background.

Emma, however, didn't utter a word. She was extremely quiet the entire time, making sure to listen to the conversation as to not fall into her head and accidentally destroy their lovely home. After what felt like forever, they were accepted into the coven.

"Emma, do you care if I talk to you for a moment?" Carlisle requested. Emma glanced up at her brother who sent her a reassuring nod as well as another wave of calm.

"Let me go gather the other so they can meet you." Esme smiled before walking out of the room.

"I'll be right downstairs." Jasper assured her before he and Alice left the room, closing the door behind of them. Emma tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she nervously crossed her arms over her stomach.

"Please," He motioned towards the chair in front of desk, "sit."

Emma did as she was told, carefully taking a seat in front of the man who still held the same welcoming smile. She messed with her hands nervously and Carlisle noticed this, chuckling lightly. "There's no need to be nervous, Emma, I just want to know more about your gift. I haven't read anything like it."

"Oh." Emma softly said.

"Do you mind?" He carefully asked. Emma looked up at him, realizing he wanted to see her use her gift. She shook her head before removing one of her arms from her stomach and opening her palm. The two watched as the scarlet covered her hand, wrapping around her fingers in wisps as a ball of energy formed in the palm of her hand. She glanced up at him, scared of what he was going to think. Instead of the fear she was expecting, awe covered his face instead. "That is absolutely incredible."

Carlisle looked at her and noticed the glowing of her eyes. Her golden eyes were now decorated with a bright red as she used her gift. Scared to use too much of her power, she quickly allowed the magic to leave her hand and crawl back inside of her body. Carlisle gave her a questioning look, so Emma decided to explain.

"Oh, uh, if I use too much at one time I usually get a searing pain in my head that eventually sends me into a fit of agony. Usually when this happens my gift usually explodes." Emma softly explained.

"What do you mean by explodes?" Carlisle asked, taking down notes.

"It only happens when I either use too much of my gift or I'm in my head." Emma carefully explains, avoiding eye contact with the doctor. "When it happens, my gift usually wraps around random objects and makes them float in the air and if I can't stop it, then the power explodes from my body and breaks everything around me." Now that she had went into further explanation of her gift―︎or rather, curse―︎she was scared that he wouldn't want her around his family anymore.

Obviously he could see this as the next words took Emma by surprise. "Emma, I don't think of you any less because of your gifts. I think they are extraordinary, and if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to learn more about your gifts. Whenever you're comfortable of course."

"Oh, um, I don't mind." Emma gently tells them. He offers her a small smile before standing up, Emma copied his actions.

"It is lovely to have you here, Emma. We can talk more later, right now why don't we introduce you to everyone?" Carlisle asked. Emma nodded her head and followed him out of his office. Emma couldn't help but trust this Carlisle Cullen. He gave her a welcoming vibe that she hadn't felt from anyone in a long time. She carefully walked down the steps after the doctor, her arms crossed over her stomach as her nerves picked up. Carlisle glanced back at her as he stepped off the last step. He gave her a reassuring smile before continuing towards the room that his family―︎and Alice and Jasper―︎were waiting.

Sensing his sister's nerves from the hallway, Jasper quickly sent her another wave of calmness just as she entered the room. The attention was immediately put on the blonde as she stepped out from behind the doctor.

"I want you all to meet Emma, Jasper's sister." Carlisle told his children. "Emma, these are my children. Emmet and his mate Amelia." The two sent her a welcoming smile. "My son Edward." Edward sent her a small nod. "And my daughter, Rosalie."

When Emma looked at the blonde, she froze in her spot. The girl was absolutely beautiful. She held long blonde locks like Emma, she held heightened beauty, and Emma was sure that if her heart was still beating it would've stopped. Pulling herself from her daze, she sent the children a small nod.

"Hello."

And like that, it was the start to a life Emma never thought would happen.
