Violet's Outfit

Rehearsal today was more draining than usual, which was saying something. All that I had to do was just sit on the sidelines and watch them run through the classic ballroom dance scene over and over again.

It was a cool scene to run, but at the moment I was watching Spiderman on my cell phone with Big Red. It was fun, but I just wish that I could be more in the middle of the action during rehearsal.

After watching nearly half of Spider-Man: Far From Home, rehearsal was finally over.

It was Valentine's Day, so everyone had their own couple centric plans.

This was my first Valentine's Day where I wasn't single, so I was excited to spend the rest of the day with Ricky.

It was an exciting day in general though. Nini was back in town for the long weekend, and I couldn't wait to spend some time with her.

Nini and Gina were kind of sort of dancing ever since the cast party for HSM, and it would also be their first time spending Valentine's Day together.

None of us really knew if they were officially dating or not, but they were absolutely adorable together so I couldn't help wishing that they were an official couple.

After rehearsal, Ricky and I walked hand in hand to my locker.

Once we got there, I saw that my locker was covered in small paper hearts and flowers.

I looked up at Ricky, tears in my eyes, "Ricky! You shouldn't have!" I grinned.

Ricky looked around, a confused look on his face.

"Uhh...I didn't", he said quietly.

"I did! Happy Valentine's Day, Vi!" Romeo said, walking over to us from across the hallway and giving me a big hug.

"I...what?" I said, confused.

"I didn't know you were back in town yet", Ricky said to Romeo, rolling his eyes slightly.

"I just got in a couple days ago. And I wanted to surprise Vi!" Romeo smiled.

Ricky looked at me, widening his eyes.

"Ok! Hi! Umm...wow I really don't know what to do about all of this. That's fun!" I said, lowkey beginning to panic.

"Well, you said you wanted to continue the things the way they left off between us, and I did this for you on our last Valentine's Day together in 7th grade, so I thought it'd be a fun surprise", Romeo said.

"Yeah, well it's definitely a surprise", Ricky said matter of factly.

"When I said that I wanted to pick things up the way they left off, I meant that I wanted to hang out and be friends again! I have a boyfriend, Romeo!" I exclaimed, louder than I'd wanted to, which caused both Ashlyn and Red to look over at us.

"Oh...I thought you wanted to be together again? I mean, you seemed like you did!" Romeo exclaimed.

"No, I didn't! You're one of my closest friends, and I was just being nice! I never said anything about wanting to be with you again!" I exclaimed, my anxiety rising by the second.

"You kind of implied that you did!" Romeo said loudly, which caused me to widen my eyes and back up from him.

"Romeo, I never said that I liked you that way, and I'm sorry that you thought that. I'd still like to be friends with you though", I said, smiling hopefully at Romeo.

"Ok, sure, fine. It's whatever. See you later, Violet", Romeo said, quickly walking away from Ricky and I.

"I see that he hasn't changed a bit", Ricky said sarcastically, as we stood in front of my locker.

"Yeah...he means well though", I said, as I tore all of the little paper hearts and flowers off my locker.

"Don't get mad at me for asking you this, but did you tell him that we were together? Because it really seems like you didn't", Ricky said,

"I told him about you, and that we did the musical together and all that. I mean I didn't explicitly say, 'hey, Ricky and I are a couple', because it just never really came up. But, yeah, I told him about how much time we've been spending together and how much I like you, so I thought that it just went without saying that we're a couple", I said.

"Yeah, yeah. That makes sense. I don't know, is it bad that I got like extremely jealous that he decorated your locker and was flirting with you?" Ricky asked, blushing.

"Awwww! No, it's not bad that you got jealous at all!" I said, grinning.

"Really?" Ricky blushed.

"Yeah, of course! It shows me that you actually care about me!" I blushed, taking Ricky's hand as we walked out to the parking lot.

After I'd dropped off Ricky at his house (and after he'd promised to come pick me up around 6:30 so we could go to our date at the pizza place), I went home to get changed into something a little more cute and Valentine's Day-esq.

After I got all dressed and redid my makeup, I sat on the couch to watch some TV for a little bit.

However, as soon as I found a show to watch, I heard a knock on the door.

I quickly got up and opened the door, revealing a very distraught looking Gina.

"Hey Vi...sorry to bother you", Gina said.

"You're not bothering me! What's up?" I asked.

"I...I think Ricky left me chocolates? Outside my house?" Gina said.

"Wait...what?" I asked.

"Yeah, we were talking about how we both missed our moms a lot, and then when I got home I found a box of chocolates outside my door. He also sent me a text complimenting how I did at rehearsal", Gina said.

"Maybe he just did it to be friendly?" I asked hopefully.

"I don't know! I texted him to say thank you, but I didn't get anything back. I just felt so guilty, and I don't even know why! I mean, I don't like him anymore, but I still feel weird about it", Gina said.

"Don't feel weird. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm just wondering, if maybe he was doing that to get back at me? Because my ex Romeo decorated my locker today and was all flirty", I said.

"That doesn't sound like something Ricky would do though, so I'm just really confused", Gina sighed.

"Maybe he dropped them off for Nini? Cause she's at the hospital with her mom?" I suggested hopefully.

"Yeah, maybe. That'd actually make a lot of sense! Well, I'll let you finish getting ready for your date, Vi. Thanks for letting me stop by!" Gina smiled.

"Wait, before you go! I got you something for Valentine's Day!" I exclaimed, handing Gina a friendship bracelet I had made as well as a big bag of M&M's.

"Aww, thank you!" Gina smiled, giving me a hug.

"Of course!" I exclaimed.

Shortly after Gina had left, Ricky had come to pick me up.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I said to Ricky, as he drove us towards the pizza shop.

Ricky nodded in response.

"Did you leave chocolates for Gina? Like from Nini or something?" I asked.

"No, why?" Ricky asked.

"I don't know. Because she said she got some. And then she said you texted her right after they showed up", I said.

"Nope. That's weird though. Maybe Nini got them sent to her? I don't know", Ricky said.

"It's fine. I'm sorry about earlier today", I said quietly.

"No need to apologize. Romeo shouldn't have just sprung all that on you without talking to you first", Ricky said.

"Exactly! So we were a couple in 7th grade! That was forever ago, I mean back then I tried to dress like I was in Girl Meets World for fucks sake!" I laughed.

"You still kinda do!" Ricky laughed.

I fake gasped dramatically, "Rude!"

"Well, it's the truth. It's a good thing though, I mean I did have a massive crush on Sabrina Carpenter back then", Ricky shrugged.

"You did?" I laughed.

"Who am I kidding, I still do!" Ricky laughed, pulling into a parking spot in front of the pizza shop.

Once we parked, we walked out of the car and into the restaurant hand in hand.

When we were inside, I noticed that Seb, Carlos, Ashlyn, Miss Jenn, and a bunch of other people from school were there.

Ricky and I took a seat towards the middle of the restaurant and quickly ordered our food.

As we ate and talked, I was happier than ever to have Ricky as my boyfriend.

I couldn't have asked for a better person to be with. He was kind, and loyal, and everything that I had ever wanted in a significant other.

Still, as we sat there, I couldn't help thinking of Romeo and what he'd put together for me...
