jungwon argued back at hiyyih. the group was sitting in the waiting area outside the airport, waiting for the others to come.

"who's still not here?" sunoo asked again.

"heeseung, jake, and jay too." sunghoon puts the headphones around his neck. "it's already 7 am, are you sure they're going to join us?"

"yes, they're probably on their way now-" sunoo stopped talking and waved at someone. "there's jake!"

jake is wearing his sunglasses, his two hands full of bags. "sorry, i woke up late."

ni-ki, who's busy playing games on his phone, glanced at his cousin. "you look terrible."

"thanks, it's my signature look." jake rolled his eyes before sitting beside him. he looked around, noticing that they're still not complete.

"jay is not here yet?" he asked, and sunoo shakes his head as an answer.

sunoo called jay earlier but he's not answering. since sunoo slept at riki's dorm last night, jay was left alone in their apartment. i should've reminded him to schedule his alarm, he sighed.

then there's heeseung, who's probably still sleeping soundly inside their dorm.

"heeseung's not here too..." jake mumbled, taking out his phone. "should i call him?"

he saw sunghoon snickered. "sure, call heeseung. you can call jay too, if you want."

what's with his reaction? jake didn't mind the guy. he's known to be rude to people in general, so jake ignores him.

jay sighed, looking at his phone which he had turned off since last night.

is this even a good idea?

it's a coincidence that sunoo slept at ni-ki's dorm, so that he wouldn't force jay to come to jeju with the others.

and it's not like he doesn't want to enjoy the semestral break too, but seeing jake and heeseung together all throughout the trip? that's pure torture, and i'm not going to put myself through that.

so he decided to just ditch the trip. fuck it, he'll just pretend that he woke up late, or that his parents kidnapped him. i don't know, anything that would make me avoid being in the same room as them.

jay glanced at the wall clock. it's already 8:39, and the flight's at 9 am. the group chat is probably blowing up right now. sunoo will not forgive me for ruining his planned trip.

though he's sure that jake will thank him afterwards, since he's giving his best friend an opportunity to be alone with heeseung.

he sighed again.

carrying his duffel bag, heeseung finally arrives in front of jay and sunoo's apartment. he rings the bell, hoping that jay would open the door fast because he's not in the mood to wait.

he's supposed to wake up at 5:30 am, but his roommate decided to turn his alarm off and not wake him up. not to mention that his sleeping pills must've been effective, since he's still drowsy right now.

seriously, where the hell is jay? is he not here?

heeseung rang the bell again, getting a bit impatient. then he hears consecutive footsteps inside, followed by the door opening in front of him. thank gods.

"who is it? is it the delive-" jay halts, frozen in place while looking at heeseung with his eyes widen. "what... in the actual fuck."

his eyebrows knit in confusion. "what?"

jay didn't say a word and slams the door back, leaving heeseung outside.

i'm too sleepy to process what the hell's happening to that guy.

"did you purposely ignore our messages?" heeseung pries, sitting comfortably on the sofa.

"no? why would i do that," jay grumbles, taking his suitcase luggage out of his room.

sunoo actually packed his clothes for him, and now he feels sorry towards the guy for trying to ditch the trip.

"wow, you're a terrible liar." heeseung comments, and jay raised his middle finger as a reply.

jay continued to pack his other things, while heeseung tried to sleep on the couch.

"you woke up late in the morning, and yet you're still sleepy?" he spats out, glancing at the guy.

heeseung laughs softly. "give me a break, it's the first time those damn sleeping pills worked on me."

he's taking sleeping pills? i thought he's always sleeping soundly.

"whatever, jake could've been ecstatic to travel with you if you hadn't been late." he murmured, but heeseung heard it clearly.

"so that was your plan all along?" heeseung sat back up, "you want me and jake to get closer throughout the trip?" he laughed as if he found the idea funny.

he really acts like a jerk sometimes. "and what about it?" jay raises an eyebrow at him.

the older shrugged. "nothing, it's just ridiculous...."

"for a person who likes jake that much, you try so hard to push him away from you."

what did he just say...?

jay stood frozen to the ground. "y-you knew?" his eyes remained looking at the floor. he feels exposed, and he doesn't want that. i feel nauseous.

heeseung shifts on his seat, "i mean... it's not like you're being subtle about it either. you're painfully obvious, jay."

i'm obvious? then... there's a possibility that jake might get a hint too. that's the worst case scenario, ever.

he takes a sharp inhale before talking. "so? jake likes you. end of story."

"sure, i know that too. he's a nice guy so he's not hard to like."

heeseung catches his eyes, "so that's it then? you're just giving jake to me?" his stare is so intimidating, that jay feels like he's getting lost inside his doe eyes.

he clenched his fist. i'm not giving him to you, dumbass. he's not mine in the first place.

"he won't be happy with me."

look at him spouting bullshit. heeseung wants to laugh again.

he'll be happy with me? he's never heard such nonsense before. since when did people get happiness when they're around me?

"fine, i won't interfere with whatever you have in your mind." heeseung spoke again.

"so, how good of a matchmaker do you think you are? because i wanna see if you can really make me fall for jake."

jay's mind is becoming hazy. what is he even talking about?

"if you want to see jake happy, then make me fall in love with him."
