"just kill me already," jay grunts as he carried the box of fabrics that will be used for their annual charity event.

he ignores the constant vibrating of his phone inside the back pocket of his pants. it's probably jake again, flooding him some random tiktok videos that he's been seeing on the internet.

since they are back to being best of friends, jake seemed to be more clingy around jay— to which the latter doesn't mind. i'm used to it by now.

i just have to remind myself of the fact that we're best friends. i can't cross that fucking line or else it's going to be hell.

jay shakes his head and continues to walk past the corridors, heading straight to the sewing room.

he feels his right arm getting tired, so he was planning to put the box to the floor so he could get a minute of rest— but someone has already taken the box away from him.

"you look like your arms were gonna snap in two," jay made an annoyed look after hearing what heeseung had said.

"can't you just mind your own business? and give me that—" he tries to grab the box back but heeseung is also quick to avoid his grasp. "seriously?"

the guy stuck his tongue out to him, teasing. "you look like you need help anyways."

"as if. i'm definitely stronger than you, zombie."

"this zombie can survive 2 days straight without sleep. can you do that?" heeseung said with a chuckle.

jay looks at him, shocked. "dude, that's not something to be proud of. get some sleep, i'm serious."

"don't worry. i'm not dying just because i didn't sleep well." heeseung replied, and jay just glared at him but didn't say anything.

the two continued to walk while he finally let heeseung carry the box. jay glanced at the taller, noticing the reddish patch on the back of his left hand.

"what happened to your hand?"

"ah..." heeseung shrugs, "i spilled my coffee earlier."

jay's eyebrows furrowed. "you should be more careful. what are you, an idiot?"

the older scoffs, ignoring him. when they reached the room, heeseung put the box right beside the door.

"oh, look who's here!" yeonjun, jay's senior and also a friend of heeseung, greets him. "i thought you're on vacation already?"

"since when did i have one anyway?" heeseung snorts and yeonjun only gave him a thumbs down before running outside.

"i'll go now, see you when i see you."

before heeseung could walk, jay stops him by holding his wrist.

"wait—" jay takes out two band-aids from his backpack. "apply some betadine on your burn and put this on."

heeseung just stares at the band-aid in front of him, so jay took the initiative to put it inside the pocket of his hoodie.

"oh, okay. thanks." he says in a small voice.

"yeah, whatever." jay pushed him out of the room, "thanks for the help. now get out of here."

such a headache, i swear. what do jake even see in him?

jay hears a knock from the door so he momentarily stops sketching designs. "sun?"

the door creaks open, peeking out sunoo. "hey, are you busy tomorrow? i wanted to buy food for the jeju trip, can you come with me? riki isn't available since he has to take remedial class."

he thinks for a moment before shrugging. "i guess i'm free."

"are you sure? you and jake don't have plans tomorrow?" sunoo asks out of curiosity.

"why would i have plans with him?"

sunoo pursed his lips, trying not to smile. "well... you two have been hanging out lately, so i thought you'd be with him tomorrow too."

have i been hanging out with jake too much? i didn't notice.

"and it's a good thing! i'm honestly glad that you patched up things with jake, he's a great best friend."

"yeah, he is." jay crumpled the paper that he's been scribbling on, throwing it inside the trash bin. that was ugly.

he tries to draw another design for the coat.

"his future boyfriend would be so lucky to have him."

jay stops sketching, his hand remained frozen while holding the pencil. he looked up at sunoo, and the latter gives him a knowing look.

"you're right. the guy would be too damn lucky." he forced out a smile.

sunoo grins at him, "anyways, continue with your work. we'll go to the grocery store at 11 tomorrow." he waves at him while closing the door.

jay didn't even realize that the lead of the pencil that he's been holding had broken. did i grip it too tight?
