Chapter 6 ~ Fond Memories of Mine
Episode: Season 7 - The Girl Next Door Pt. 3Β Β
It wasn't hard to find the same girl that we'd tracked down before. She was older now, of course, but had still been eating people, innocents. I sighed to myself as we made our way to her house.
"Sam, if she still refuses to stop...you know we're gonna have to gank her, right?" I asked him as we walked up to the small home.
A sigh escaped his mouth and he shook his head, brown strands of hair flying as he did, "You know I don't want to do that, Park...not unless we're forced to."
I bit my lip, shaking my head as he knocked on the door. This would not end well.
~ Flashback ~
Sam moved to set the can of beer back down on the table when it slipped off, spilling the alcoholic beverage all over the wood linoleum floor. I cursed under my breath as I ran to get a towel from the kitchen to clean it up with.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to!" Sam said, a twinge of remorse tinting his tone.
"It's just-...if she sees it, you know, she'll be so mad," I said, hurriedly wiping it up as Sam bent down to help.
"Yeah. It was just an accident," he said, shrugging.
"Yeah, well, she has a temper. Uh...sometimes. It's no big deal," I said, biting down hard on my lower lip when I realized what I'd said.
"Dad does, too, sometimes... You don't want to see him when he's drinking," Sam admitted quietly.
I glanced up, sharing a knowing look with Sam.
"Aunt Grace... I don't think she's a good person," I confessed to him softly, "Sometimes I don't think I'm a good person either,"
"You are," Sam reassured me, nodding.
"Don't be so sure," I mumbled under my breath, just loud enough for him to hear as I started to get up off the floor.
But he stopped me by placing a gentle hand on my wrist.
"I've seen enough bad...to know good when I see it, Parker."
Slowly, I moved close to Sam again, capturing his lips with mine. His mouth was warm and soft, like the inside of a rose, as he kissed me back fervently. His hands raveled to the thighs of my jeans, his fingers cautious to rest there but gently, I brought his hands to rest on my hips as we kissed.
~ End of Flashback ~
We were able to talk everything over with Amy and thankfully, she'd agreed to stop the killing. It was a lucky break you could say. But unluckily, Dean was able to track us down. Needless to say, he wasn't that thrilled we'd ditched him and punched Sam in the jaw for it. But soon, we were all ready to get back on the road again. Sam and I, after stopping at a grocery store for pie for Dean, headed back to the Impala.
"You know...about the case back in '98-" Sam started to say, clearing his throat as we walked.
I laughed, catching him off guard as he stared at me with slightly widened eyes. I turned my head to face him then, smiling.
"I haven't forgotten, Sam," I assured him with a smile, "How could I? You were my first boyfriend,"
Sam chuckled, shrugging, "You were mine, too,"
A comfortable silence ensued then just as Dean waiting for us by Baby came into view.
"Look, Parks, I just wanted you to know...no matter what happened in our past...you'll always be my best friend," he said quietly, making me glance his way.
A smile split my face, warmth washing over me from his sweet words, "You'll always be mine, too, Sammy."
He smiled down at me gratefully before we made our way over to Dean just as he was getting off the phone.
"That was Bobby. We'll hole up in Spokane tonight. We'll meet him tomorrow... Why don't you drive?" he said, tossing the keys to Sam.
I arched an eyebrow in surprise, eyeing the brothers.
"You gonna punch me again?" Sam quipped, watching him.
Dean just rolled his green eyes in annoyance before climbing into the passenger seat of the Impala. A few seconds later, we were rumbling down the road, off to a new case.
