Chapter Two

"I should tell everyone here my name is Matilda so they don't think i'm coming to haunt them." Ophelia said as she trailed behind Schneider as they walked to take their seats at the funeral.

"And if they asked... yes. You do have super powers and you definitely broke into your principles house." Schneider said with a nod her way as Ophelia nodded.

"What a pretty g-" a older woman said as Ophelias eyes widened.

"I broke into my principles house with my super powers!" Ophelia shouted quickly as she held her breath, the cubans in the room turning and looking at her as if she was crazy.

"Nailed it." Schneider whispered to her with a thumbs up while leading her over to the Alvarez's.

"There's Tia Pilar, I always wondered if she was gay." Elena said as she pointed over toward a woman, who walked over.

"Elena, you think everyone is gay. Pilar is just eccentric. She rides a motercycle, she owns seven cats, she shares a one bedroom apartment with her long term roommate, Susan. How is that gay?" Lydia ask as they all looked at her with raised eyebrows.

"Maybe she's bisexual." Ophelia said as she turned to look at the woman again, who was being affectionate with another woman.

"Or definitely gay." the small teen nodded her head as Elena nodded along side her.

"Look what you did Elena, filled Ophelias pretty head with thinking everyone is gay. How will she find a husband?" Lydia asked as she gestured toward Ophelia, Alex cleared his throat loudly.

"Not now Papito, the woman are taking." Lydia waved him off as Alex threw his hands up.

"Okay." Penelope said as she waved them off to go take their seats.

"Funerals are so depressing, when I die I don't want to have one." Ophelia said as her and Alex sat next to each other.

"You don't want one day where all the attention goes to you?" Alex asked her with a crazy look as Ophelia shook her head.

"No, I just want a wedding card sent to everyone saying i'm dead." Ophelia said with a grin and a nod as Alex frowned his eyebrows.

"You really are the oddest human, Ophelia." Alex said to her while fixing the coat around his arms. Ophelia touched her heart with a large grin.

"Aw, Alex. That's so sweet." she said while crossing one of her legs over the other and flipping open the funeral program.

"There's too many people around, it's time to do what we talked about." Lydia said as she walked over toward the duo.

"No. Please, there must be another way." Alex begged as Ophelia frowned her eyebrows in confusion.

"Well, there isn't another way, quick." Lydia said while waving him off as Alex sighed and made his way toward the side of the funeral home.

"White child, come with me." Lydia said as she took her hand to make her stand.

"Does anybody wanna see pictures of me at homecoming? Me and the cuban girl I will probably marry." Alex announced as everyone began to rush toward him in a hurry.

"Shield me." Lydia whispered as Ophelia threw her arms out to hide Lydia from the crowd so she could slip the mantilla into the casket, making it oddly obvious. Penelope gave the teen a odd look as she walked over and gasped as she saw Lydia throw it in.

"Mami, you had the matilla this whole time?" Penelope asked her in disbelief.

"No, she had it." Lydia said while pointing down to Tia Ophelia.

"It's true, she told me. We're connected, haunting remember?" Ophelia asked as she pointed at her forehead and tried to take Lydias side.

"Okay for one, you are the worse liar I have-" Penelope began toward Ophelia before the small teen was shoved into Lydia, who fell into Penelope.

"Ah, Ophelia. You were the only one that could ever truly see me." Mirtha said as Ophelia eyes widen as she brushed down her dress, after the harsh push.

"Theif." Marita said with a glare as she lifted the matilla from the basket.

"Ophelia had the matilla this whole time? Ha! It makes sense." Lydia said as she joined her sisters side.

"So much sense, I mean it's definitely not like anyone just had it for years and then put it in today." Ophelia said with a awkward laugh as Lydia turned to her.

"I'm going." Ophelia said as she walked off quickly.

"Never. Again." Alex said as he walked out of the circle of tias with his hair a mess and clothes wrinkled.

"Alex, i'm about to be hit by god and die." Ophelia whispered to him as Alex frowned his eyes at her.

"I've lied infront of the dead, what could be worse then that?" Ophelia whisper shouted with wide eyes as Alex grabbed her arms.

"Don't worry, just play it cool and maybe he won't notice." Alex whispered to her as Ophelia nodded her head before a loud thunder strike was heard, making the teen let out a loud screech and run out of the room.

"Woah, the most we ever did at family events was throw spaghetti at each other and talk about which hair extensions to get." Ophelia said as she watched Lydia and Mirtha sing a song in the middle of the living room.

"This is nothing, wait until you learn about the teeth necklace you'll have to wear at our wedding." Alex said with a nod of his head as Ophelia slapped her forehead.

"You better give that back!" Penelope shouted as her and her cousin began to fight over the matilla.

"No, never! I am getting mine and Juan's names on hear and taking yours and Victors off!" Estrellita shouted at Penelope as she yanked on the cloth.

"What?" Penelope asked her in disbelief.

"She couldn't keep him tied down, why should the matilla?" the taller woman asked as everyone gasped loudly as Schneider took a step forward.

"Oh, that was nasty!" he announced as Ophelia nodded.

"I'm haunting you next, tia gray tooth!" Ophelia shouted at the woman as Alex held her back as more gasp where heard in the small apartment.

"You know what? Monica is no longer Tia Bitchy. You are!" Schneider said to her as he bounced off Ophelias words.

"I had a stroke!" Lydia suddenly yelled as everyone gasped and turned to her as Penelope took the time to yank the matilla away.

"I got it!" she shouted as Lydia cheered her on.

"I'm sorry, I mean I had a stroke of genius." Lydia said as she spoke loudly to the family.

"We better go before this gets ugly." Alex said as Ophelia shhed him.

"It's just getting good." she spoke with a wave off.

"Mami, there are no names stitched on here." Penelope said as she looked on the cloth to see it bare.

"Oh, this is a problem. This is not the matilla." Lydia said as Mirtha pulled it away from her.

"She's right it's just some random peice of lace." Eatrillia asked as she looked over it.

"So you stuffed some random peice of caca into the casket with Ophelia?" Mirtha asked Lydia with an insane look.

"You knew?" Lydia asked her with a gasp.

"Of course I knew! No one gets buried with the matilla! Plus, you're wing man wasn't very good." Mirtha said as she pointed over the Ophelia, who shrugged.

"Wing woman, but you get it." Ophelia said as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Then who has the real matilla?" the cousin asked, stating the obvious as Lydia and Mirtha began to argue back and forth on who had it.

"Wait, the matilla is what you all have been fighting about? I have it, Susan and I used it at our wedding. You were all there! Besides Matilda." Pilar said as she walked out of the kitchen to confront them, pointing to Ophelia.

"I just thought it was a very affectionate barbecue." Lydia said as the whole family threw their hands up.

"Oh my god!" Ellen shouted from the kitchen as she gave an insane look.

"Come on Elena, lets get you out of here before someone says you're just-" Ophelia began before she threw her hands up like how everyone else did.

"Yeah, we have to show Ophelia the teeth she'll have to wear in four years." Alex said as he drug the two girls off.
