CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN—
a traitor among us.

"There she is!" Eli yelled when he caught sight of Alexa walking into the party. "You know, if anyone is gonna cause a riot in the middle of a dojo, it would be you."

"You're hilarious. I'm pissing my pants." she mocked him in an unamused way, he yanked her into his side. "Where's Miguel and Demetri?"

"Miguel is...no clue. And Demetri says no to parties." he shrugged his shoulders and tightened his arm around her. "So, how are you feeling? For real?"

"Better." she promised, her face lit up a little as she gave him a grin. "I told Robby I love him."

"What!" he gushed with a laugh and a bright smile. "Did he say it back?"

"Mhm." her face lit up.

"Lex, that's amazing!" he laughed and smacked her in the arm. "I would have never guessed the two of you would end up together."

"Me neither." she said honestly and grabbed one of the beers from the cup pong he was just doing. "I mean, remember how many fights we got into? How many times I tried to kick his ass? Never expected it."

"Not even a little? You never felt, like, just a little something?" he asked her honestly, leaning against the table. "Just curious."

Alexa thought back and hesitated. "You remember when we trashed Miyagi-Do and I broke in to steal the Metal of Honor?"

"Not our proudest moment, but sure." Eli hummed.

"He was asleep in the dojo. Apart of me wanted to scare him, you know? But he looks so peaceful sleeping there, so I told you no one was in there." she shrugged her shoulders. "It wasn't a feelings thing back then, but it was something."

"It was something." he gave her a grin with a dramatic shrug. "I mean, there was a whole list of people I think your date, and Robby Keene was never up there."

"A whole list?" she laughed in disbelief. "Who was all on this list?"

"Well, I really thought you and Demetri would eventually get back together, because you're such a sap." he pointed out as she had to shrug in agreement. "Miguel, Tory, Me, Dough, I even questioned Aisha at one point. Never Robby Keene."

"All fantastic contestants." she agreed with pursed lips. "To be fair, I never thought you'd go back to Moon."

"Really?" he laughed slightly. "Who'd you think I'd get with then?"

"Demetri." she said honestly and immediately. He turned his head, red in the face and blinking at her. "What? Half the time I felt like a third wheel with you two more then anything. You went on all our dates, most of the time you guys were the ones cuddling at sleepovers-"

"Got it." he cut her off with a nervous laugh. "Points were made. Let's changed the subject."

"So, i'm assuming you won again." she punched his shoulder with a grin. "Sorry I didn't get to see it."

"Oh, no. I didn't." he shook his head. "Kenny used some weird tactic on me, I couldn't breath so it resulted to a loose. Sam kicked Devon's ass, so hence the party."

"Devon?" Alexa frowned her eyebrows together.

"Yeah, Tory took off not long after you left. Devon was who they had left." he shrugged his shoulders.

"Tory left?" Alexa was not aware of any of this, Eli nodded his head. "After I did?"

"Yes, how much more do I need to say it?" he laughed at her. "What did you mean when you were leaving? Did Terry do something to you?"

"N-" she began, but the chants of fight! caught their attention. The pair shared a look before following the yells, leading to the parking lot.

"You knew all along that Silver cheated at the All Valley and you did nothing?" Sam shoved Tory hard as when the pair showed up, shoving through the crowd.

"You don't know what's it's like in there, what I had to deal with." Tory tried to defend the matter. Sam tried to swing at her but Tory pushed her away, Sam kicked her back into the dumpster as Tory moved out of the way. Alexa tried to step in, but Eli yanked her back with a shake of his head.

"My entire family has suffered because of you!" Sam yelled at her.

"Screw this." Alexa pulled away from Eli and got between the two, shoving Sam away. "Calm down!"

Realization flooded Sams watery eyes. "You knew."

Alexas face fell to guilt. Sam shook her head. "That's what you meant earlier. You knew and you didn't come forward about it."

"I-" Alexa went to defend herself, but she couldn't. Sams react was valid, Alexa was just as at fault as Tory was.

"I was trying to trust you! I wanted to give you a chance." Sam stared in betrayal. "I even helped Robby convince the rest of the dojo you deserves a second chance."

"I'm sorry." Alexa gave her a sincere look.

"Hey." Robby and Miguel ran over.

"She's been working with Kreese this whole time." Sam ranted as she looked to the pair.

Robby turned his head to Tory. "What?"

"Why did you only come forward now?" Sam glared to Tory. "Because you're a coward."

"Hey." Alexa warned her. "You don't get what's at risk. Cobra Kai isn't like Miyagi-Do, she's not a coward because she was smart enough to know Terry would try something."

"Screw you, LaRusso." Tory pointed at her with a deep inhale. "I knew this was a mistake."

"Tory!" Robby called after her as both the girls walked away. He looked at Alexa. "Did you know about this?"

"Not about Kreese, just about the trophy." she shook her head but chose to be honest. "It was her secret, not mine."

He understood, nodding his head. "Go after her."

"I'll meet you back here." she promised before running after Tory. "Tory, wait."

"I wanna get out of here." Tory kept walking as Alexa hurried to catch up with her. "What are you even doing here?"

"Getting free beer." she held up the empty solo cup. "Well, it's gone now. But, you get the point."

She chunked the cup behind her. "You left. They told me you left after I did."

"Yeah, I did." she kept walking.

"Why?" Alexa panted as she walked faster, but Torys legs were longer then hers had been.

"Because I knew they were just gonna cheat again. I'm tired of it." she huffed, Alexa resulted to a soft jog now. "Plus, I know what he did to you now. I'm not gonna win for him when he treats you like that."

Alexa smiled as she jogged next to her. "Wanna find some road kill and leave it at his door instead?"

Alexa walked into the Cobra Kai dojo with her head hung high, Robbys hand clasped in hers.

"Mr.Keene and Miss.Castillo." Terry greeted the pair as Cobra Kai all paused, Alexa and Tory met eyes with a minor nod. "To what do we owe the pleasure? Or, shall I say, again?"

Alexa gave a sarcastic smile. "Again would be correct, Terry. I'm so glad you haven't reached the age when your memory starts to go, I feared you might based off your gray hair."

"I came here to apologize." Robby informed him as him and Alexa dropped hands. He turned to face the dojo students. "I let you down. I turned my back on you. I didn't understand at the time but I realize now that I was wrong. I shouldn't have just left. I should have taken you all with me. Everything you're taught here is bullshit. There is pain in this dojo and it's built upon fear because this man is not your sensei, he is your enemy! It's not too late for you. You're not past the point of no return. And I promise, there is still another way."

Kenny and Tory shrunk a little, Terry began to clap slowly right next to their heads. "Bold move, Mr.Keene. Bold move. We've heard you out. And we've heard plenty of you, Ms.Castillo, as of yesterday. Now it's my turn to speak."

He stood dangerously close to Robby, Alexa hadn't taken her eyes away from them.

"Joon-bee stance!" Terry yelled as his students did so. "Right leg back, kia! Forward strike, side kick, kia!"

Alexa side eyes the students as they did so. Terry took a breath. "There's a different between being heard and being listened to. They heard you. But they listen to me. Just like you continue to do, Alexa. Now, if the two of you don't mind, we've got some training to do."

He paced his dojo and yelled to his students. "If Mr.Keene or Ms.Castillo, or any or their friends, step good in this dojo, what will you show them?"

"No mercy, sir!" they all yelled, aside Tory.
