CHAPTER TWENTY SIX—
the fearful words.

"Hey." Robby opened up Alexas bedroom door just as the sun started to set, the orange glow coming through her window. "Sorry, I wanted to shower before coming over after practice."

"It's fine." she sat up and dropped her phone. "Sit."

Robby crawled into bed and sat infront of her. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Miyagi-Do. I didn't want to lie to you, but I just didn't want to ruin what we had going on. Everything was so good, I didn't want you to think I was going behind your back somehow."

Alexa shrugged. "I wouldn't have thought that."

"I know that now." Robby chewed on the inside of his mouth.

"What you said earlier." Alexa nodded her head to get his attention, eyebrows frowned together. "About there not being a competition that I could run back and snitch on. If there was...would you not trust me to be there?"

Robby dropped his head. "Of course I would trust you."

It made her feel ten times better, smiling at him.

"In fact, there is one." he grabbed her knees to pull her in closer. "In a couple days, against Cobra Kai. It's hard to explain, but maybe if you come, you can at least watch?"

Alexa shrugged. "I'm not apart of a dojo."

"Yeah, but you can say you're just coming for support." Robby offered her a smile. "I'd like to see Terry try and kick you out then."

Alexa smiled, grabbing his face and kissing him on the lips. She pulled back quickly when a knock came from the door, waiting as it did it again. Robby's face fell. "Is that the dead animals?"

"Shh." she crawled over him as he followed, the pair creeping to the door as the knock echoed through the tiny apartment again. Alexa pushed up on her tiptoes. "What the hell?"

Before Robby could say anything, Alexa opened the door to reveal Deena and an older man. "Grandpa!"

"My girl!" he announced and pulled her into a hug, Robby stayed with a confused look on his face.

"So, there's actually not some huge scandal?" Tory asked the next day as she stood with Alexa in the dojo. Terry hadn't seen her yet, too focused on the Miyagi-Fangs walking in. "Your Mom was just talking to your Grandpa at the All Valley and we totally blew everything out of proportion?"

"Apparently." Alexa shrugged her shoulders as she glanced toward Miyagi-Fang. "Still doesn't explain the dead rats though."

"Yeah, guess we still have to figure that one out." Tory looked over as well. "Did you come for Robby or me?"

"I came for both of you." Alexa shrugged, rubbing her arms. "Cobra Kai hadn't stopped glaring at me since I walked in though."

"They'll get over it." Tory shrugged her shoulders as she glanced back at her teammates. "So, are you with them now? With the dojo?"

"No." Alexa shook her head quickly. "No, i'm not. I'm just....trying not to have so much hate for them anymore, though. You know?"

"Yeah." Tory agreed with her as she inhaled. "You better not stay over here though. If Terry sees you, he'll try to have your head. He's already been calling you a rat every chance he gets."

"Yeah, I sh-" Alexa began before she stopped. "Did you say rat?"

"Yeah, he thinks you ratted us out or something." she shrugged her shoulders, staring at the odd look on Alexa's face. "What? Did you not know that?"

Alexa ignored her entirely as she walked across the mat, getting booed loudly by Cobra Kai and mocked the whole way toward their sensei. Silver smiled at her as she got closer. "I was wondering when you'd come beg for your spot back."

"It was you." Alexa glared at him in disbelief. "You're the one that sent me that dead rat. To mock me, right? Scare me into silence some how?"

"I'm not sure what you're talking about." Silver smiled at her, leaning down some to whisper. "But, if I was you, i'd take that a little more serious. Young girl like you? Getting a couple threats shouldn't be taken too lightly, you know? Maybe you should go to the police."

Alexa glared as Silver smiled at her. "Or maybe try not to be a rat."

"I'm not a rat." she rose her voice loud enough for others to hear. Robby looked over quickly.

"Alexa." Kenny grabbed her arm and gave her a harsh pull, getting her away before she retreated her arm from his grip. "Let it go."

"You let it go." she argued in disbelief. "Do you know what the fuck he did?"

Now, she was causing a scene.

"Lex, just stop." Kenny begged her as he tightened his hand on her arm. "Please?"

"Hey." Robby walked over to the pair as Alexa pulled away from Kenny again. "Cool it."

"Silver left me a dead rat and Kenny thinks I need to drop it." Alexa crossed her arms. She'd never be able to hate Kenny, no matter how badly he pissed her off. She loved that kid, but he didn't want to be saved from Cobra Kai. Another reason he was so much like her.

"Excuse me, judges?" Silver spoke up loudly as he smiled. "This random young woman isn't apart of either dojos. I have reasoning to believe she might be, dare I say, a threat to the students."

She did exactly what he wanted her to do. With his face pushed to the side, she hit him right in the jaw. All hell broke loose then, Sensei Kim grabbed Alexa by the shoulder and tossed her back.

"Hey!" Robby tried to shove through the Cobra Kais that had swarmed her.

"Alexa!" Eli came to his side while Miguel followed. "Back off!"

Miyagi-Fang crowded in as well, Sam and Tory both managed to grabbed her arms and yank her from the group. Her nose was bleeding and her eye was squinted. Robby grabbed her arm. "Are you okay?"

"That's what you get for being a rat!" Kyler reached forward and shoved Alexas in the forehead. "Four-eyes."

He hadn't mocked her like he use to the entire time they were in Cobra Kai together. But, now, she wasn't.

Alexa grabbed him but the shirt as it lead to yet another fight swarming through, Cobra Kai trying to protect Kyler while Miyagi-Fang protected Alexa. The judges and senseis all tried to break it up.

Alexa slammed Kylers face into the glass as it immediately shattered under him, the hardest she'd ever done that. "You're a piece of shit, Kyler! I fucking hate you."

"Lex." Tory tried to get her off, not because she thought Kyler didn't deserve it, but because it would just lead to her getting hurt.

"Is this what you wanted?" Alexa yelled as Silver as Tory managed to pull her away from the crowd, her eyes set on him. She was not a crier, but her emotions were so high in those moments. "You ruined my life!"

"I made you who you are!" he yelled back at her.

"Get her out of here, Nichols." Sensei Kim demanded as Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Fang finally backed off. "She isn't Cobra Kai!"

"No." Alexa stared at her, her jaw tightening as the angry tears fell. "I hope that someone exposes all of you for what you've done to all of us. Cobra Kai is a fucking joke."

Robby went toward Alexa as she stared at Silver. "They're gonna know what you did!"

"Lex." Tory whispered in a begging manor. Her anger would soon expose Tory more then anything, and that was the last thing she wanted.

"It's okay." Robby tried to comfort Alexa as he lead her toward the door.

"Lex!" Eli yelled as she walked away. "What do you mean?"

"Alexa!" Daniel yelled at her as the door pushed open. "What did he do? What happened?"

But, she was gone. Not because she cared about protected Terry, but because she cared about protecting Tory.

Miguel looked at Eli ad they all began to take their sides again. "Do you know what she's talking about?"

"No." he shook his head and glared at Silver over his shoulder. "If he did something to her, i'm gonna fucking kill him."

"Join the club." Miguel spoke in return.

"Alexa." Robby followed her into the parking lot. "Stop walking."

She took a deep breath and turned. Robby held her shoulders as he frowned at her state. "Talk to me."

"I wish I never stayed." she cried, cried because she hadn't for this reason. "He made me into such a monster."

"You're not a monster. He brainwashed all of us." Robby tried his hardest to make her feel better, but it was clear that Terry Silver had gotten completely into Alexas head and broke her from the inside out.

"He kicked me out but still has complete control over me." she pointed at herself with a shake of her head. "He wanted me to do that in there! I saw him face, Robby! He wanted me to break and look crazy. I looked fucking crazy infront of everyone! Infront of my friends, infront of Cobra Kai, infront of LaRusso, infront of you!"

"I don't think you're crazy." Robby pulled her in closer and held her face. "You're right, he wanted a reaction out of you. And he got it. But, that's not your fault. He pushed you so hard, he wants everyone to turn again you. But-"

"He's done a pretty damn good job." Alexa rubbed her eyes.

"No, he hasn't." he corrected her. "You still have me, Tory, Miguel, Hawk, my Dad, even Kenny. He didn't lay a single hand on you in there, I saw it. You have us, and we know you better then he ever will. He's a coward and a manipulator, he knows that you see that in him. That scares him. The less control he has over you, the more terrified he's gonna be."

Alexa let Robbys words sink in, and they made since. It was hard, especially when he knew exactly where to hit her the hardest so the knife would turn in the wound, but he was completely right. Alexa gave in, she reacted to him and proved he had control over her. The more she chooses not to, the more he's gonna fear her. And Alexa wanted nothing more then for Terry Silver to fear her.

"You're too good for me, Robby." she whined, leaning in and hugging him tightly. "I'm so happy I shoved your head against the glass and let you sleep on my floor."

"Me too." Robby laughed as he rubbed the back of her head. "I really care about you, Lex."

"I care about you too." she promised him. "Probably more then anyone else."

"Same." he agreed, giving her a hard squeeze. "You might be the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Alexa laughed, and words that traumatized her from the past crossed her head. Despite the first time they were said ending badly, she didn't regret a single thing because she said how she felt. It shut her off in that department for a while, but Robby made her feel things she didn't think she would again. And this time in such a more intense way. It hurt not to say it, it would hurt more to keep it in rather than hurt if he didn't feel the same. "I really love you, you know?"

Robby softened in her arms but held into her even harder. "I love you too, you know?"
