"All right. How we looking?" Johnny came around the corner with three breakfast burritos.
"I think I got it matched up to my phone." Robby admitted as he held it in his hand. "Only a few miles to go. Looks like a lot of bars and restaurants."
"Should have brought my fake ID." Alexa shook her head in disbelief.
"Yeah, true." Johnny agreed with her. "Here, let's ask this guy."
"Is he does fake ID's?" she rose her eyebrows.
"Hola." Johnny greeted the anxious guy.
"EspaΓ±ol?" he questioned.
"What?" Johnny gave a look.
"EspaΓ±ol?" he repeated himself.
"No, America." Johnny shook his head, standing infront of him.
"Mexico." the man said in return. "EstΓ‘s en una zona de remolque. Necesito que muevas la furgoneta."
"Do you know what he said?" Robby whispered to Alexa.
"All I caught was van and...zone?" she frowned her eyebrows together behind her orange sunglasses.
"Gracias. It's custom decal." Johnny grinned when the man pointed at the Eagle Fang across the hood. "Quiero hombre. Hector the Salazar."
"No conozco a HΓ©ctor Salazar. Tienes que mover la furgoneta, por favor." the man shook his head, Alexa only caught van and please.
"I think this guy wants money." Johnny looked back at the pair. "Go speak Puerto Rican to him."
"Jesus Christ." Alexa rolled her eyes, walking forward to the man with a clear of her throat. "Yo hablo poco espaΓ±ol. ΒΏPodrΓas explicar un poco mΓ‘s lento? Lo siento."
Robby rose his eyebrows and reddened in the face.
"La furgoneta." the man pointed at the van. "Necesita moverse."
"The van needs to be moved?" Alexa nodded her head. "You need to move the van."
"Why would we move the van?" Johnny tossed his hands up. "I thought he liked it?"
"I don't know, but he says to move it." she argued. "No money."
"Oh, yeah right!" Johnny laughed at the man. "You tell me where Hector Salazar is...I give you dinero."
"Dinero?" the man scoffed, waving him off as he walked away.
"All right." Johnny scoffed, Alexa crossed her arms with a waiting look. She knew what was coming and was glad it had, maybe it would teach Johnny to listen a little more. "Can you believe this guy?"
"If this Hector guy is so dangerous, I don't think we should be throwing his name around." Robby pointed out as his Dad looked at him. Alexa joined his side again.
"Hey, gotta shake the tree to get the apples." the blonde shook his head.
"Or we could climb the tree ourselves." Robby shrugged.
"Or we can hang out under the tree and wait for the apples to fall to us." Alexa pointed her index finger. "More importantly, maybe listen to the Spanish apples that are surrounding the tree."
"What does that mean? What tree?" Johnny looked between the pair with stared of disbelief.
"The apple tree." Robby argued. "You just said you wanted-wait!"
They both ran after the truck as he towed the van. Alexa exhaled. "Listen to the Spanish apples."
"Hey, hey! Hey!" Johnny jogged alongside Robby.
"I should learn more Spanish and come back here, and visit Puerto Rico." Alexa held Robbys hand as they walked toward the shop. "I bet i've got a shit ton of family there. My Dad had four siblings and his entire family never believed in birth control."
"I think you should learn more Spanish too." Robby agreed. "It sounds good when you say it."
"Oh? Does it?" she walked backwards to tease him with a grin. "Wanna hear more?"
"Yes." Robby leaned in more, picking up his walking pace as Alexa pulled his shirt, impressed she hadn't tripped yet.
"ΒΏTe hace sentir caliente?" Alexa gave him a mocking chuckle, pulling away and walking forward again.
"What'd you say?" Robby ran after her as she ignored him. "Lex. Alexa, what did you say?"
"Guy at the impound lot said we need 4,000 pesos." Johnny caught up with the two as they entered the store. "That's, like a million dollars."
"It's two-hundred dollars. But still, we only have half that." Robby pointed out with a small shrug.
"We're not gonna find Miguel without the van." Johnny rolled his eyes in annoyance, smacking Alexa in the arm. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"I tried to." she smacked him back. "But, like always, you don't wanna listen to anyone else. It's all about what Johnny wants to say and do. You know, i'm genuinely shocked Miguel's hot Mom puts up with you. Because if you were my boyfriend, i'd have smothered you in your sleep a long time ago."
"Yeah, well you got my kid so how's that any different?" the blonde mocked her in return.
"Very different, actually. Your kid actually knows when to shut the hell up and listen to other people speak. Your kid doesn't talk over people and think he knows best all the time." Alexa listed on, counting off the reasons on her hand. "Do you want me to go on or do you wanna find Miguel before Christmas?"
"Okay." Robby walked between the two before it could get out of hand. He didn't tell Alexa she was more like Johnny then anyone else, she'd have his head for that.
"Haga sus apuestas!" the man from the table a few feet away cheered, stood between two men that were struggling to eat peppers. Robby looked at all the money from the crowd.
"That's a Red Savina. That thing'll burn a hole right through you." Robby informed the pair, watching the man struggle to get it down. "Mom and I watch Hot Ones on Youtube."
"Aw." Alexa couldn't help herself. "Mamas boy."
The man reched, standing from his chair and running away, granting his opponent the cash. Johnny nodded. "This is our shot to get back on track. If you see me about to choke, cover my mouth so I don't spit it out."
"Deal." Alexa nodded.
"Wait." Robby stopped the two. "I'll do it."
"No, Robby. I got us into this." the blonde shook his head at him.
"Like you said, this is our best shot." Robby gave his Dad a knowing look. "Plus, Alexas Mom made me a lot of spicy food ever since she came back. I know I can win."
Alexa grinned, following after Robby as he walked over. He sat down, smacking the little money they had left. Alexa stood behind him and rubbed his shoulders, grinning in pride that he'd even consider this. The man across the table eyed him.
It wasn't long until they both had a glass of milk and had eaten the entire jar of peppers. Robby was red in the gave and sweating by his final one. Johnny cheered. "That's my boy!"
Alexa grinned, looping her head around to kiss Robby on the head.
"Mira el gringo sudando como un cerdo." the man laughed from across the table, Alexa only caught pig and sweat but was able to piece together what the rest of his sentence was.
"Tu cabeza calva es como un cerdo." she smiled across the table as he gave an annoyed look, only getting an even sweeter smile in return. "EstarΓ‘ muerto en la segunda ronda."
"Uno mas." Robby answered as he clutched his fist together. "Give me the hottest pepper you got."
Johnny and Alexa both shared a look, not sure how he'd make it through with the state he was in now. Robby leaned back, his elbow collided with Alexas front pocket. She didn't think anything of it until he did it three more times, making the bag of candy rattle a little.
Alexa hid behind Robbys chair some as she slipped one from the bag, leaning down to pretend to tie her shoe and popped it into her mouth. As she rose to her feet, she reached around to grab Robby by the neck and pull his head back before kissing him on the lips, transferring the unchewed candy into his mouth. Not a single person noticed.
"El dragon!" the man yelled out, causing a gasp to go over the crowd.
"We're going all in. Todo." Johnny put his money on the table. Everyone began to place their bets as Robby grabbed the pepper. "You got this. I'd bet on you any day of the week."
Robby rose his hands infront of his face, clasping them together and breathing in deeply. Alexa gave an odd look at first. "Robby, God isn't listening to you about some hot peppers."
"I'm not praying." he shhed her, she then realized he was using Miyagi-Do tactic to calm his nerves, pulling himself back into a calming state to heal the pain in his mouth. He then stuck his hand in his mouth like he'd eaten the pepper, keeping it clasped in his hand and pretending like the candy he was chewing was terribly hard to get down.
Alexa saw him hid it in his front pocket, tossing her hand above her head and cheering loudly. "Yeah!!"
The crowd did the same. The man across the table popped his into his mouth, moving around uncomfortably before not being able to take it, downing his milk. Everyone cheered in Robby's victory. "Yes!"
They then got milk sprayed all over them.
