"This is where we're stopping? What the hell is here?" Johnny asked Robby in disbelief, parking the Eagle Fang van outside of the run down apartments. "Is this where you've been crashing?"
"Yeah." Robby unbuckled his seat belt. "Just give me a minute. If i'm going with you, there's gotta be a plan."
"We-" Johnny began again before Robby was out of the car, shutting the door.
Robby hugged the flannel around his arms more, feeling a faint breeze in the summer air. The steps creaked under his feet as he went up the steps he'd known perfectly well by now. He skipped the second to last, knowing it was wobbly and he'd tripped on it before. The small lights by each number were all dulling, except one due to Ty's handyman ex boyfriend.
"Hey, Josh." Robby eyed the young man as he screwed the light bulb back on. "You and Ty finally get back together?"
"No. That shit head broke his lightbulb to try and get me out here." he looked over at him in disbelief. "You Lex's boy?"
Robby felt his face flush. "Y-"
"Yeah." the door opened up. It had only been an hour, but Robby had missed being around her already. He could still taste their shared milkshake, he wondered if she was the same. Alexa's face lit up slightly as she looked at him, her hair pulled back and in her orange sweats she loved so much. "He is."
"Cute." Josh nodded as Alexa shut the door.
"You guys have met?" she hummed.
"Well, not exactly-" Josh began.
"Okay, great!" she grabbed Robbys arm and pulled him further down the balcony to get some privacy. Josh waved them off. They stopped at the end. "How'd it go?"
"Good." Robby shrugged, placing his hands on her face and leaning in to kiss her for a second. "But, something came up."
Her face fell. "Something came up?"
"Yeah, a trip to Mexico." he gave an odd look, having to laugh. "As weird as a sudden trip as that is."
"Well, it sounds like your Dad." she shrugged, trying to seem some what supportive. "So, what's this mean? You leavin me already?"
"God, no." Robby grabbed her arms. "Are you kidding? I think i've gotten too use to your snoring."
"I do not snore!" Alexa scolded him.
"You really do." he smiled, rubbing her arms. "That why I want you to come with me. To Mexico. Well, with me and my Dad."
Alexa tilted her head and laughed. "No."
"What? Why?" his face fell.
"Robby, I'm still beyond pissed at your Dad." Alexa gave a look of disbelief, shaking her head. "For multiple reasons."
"I know, and so am I." he nodded his head. "Which is why I want you to come with me. For all three of us to maybe get a chance to...talk. I don't know, something."
Alexa looked down, Robby frowned. "Something else on your mind?"
"Yeah." she admitted, meeting his gaze. "I guess I just feel kinda lost right now."
"How come?" Robby put his hands on her waist to pull her in closer. "Because of the All Valley?"
"I haven't been without Cobra Kai since...well, before Cobra Kai." she gave a questionable look with a shake of her head. "I don't know how to feel."
Robby nodded. "I'm done too."
Alexa gapped. "What?"
"With Cobra Kai. I'm done with it. If Silver wants to kick you out for telling Tory to do what she wants, then I don't want to do it without you. I'm done going down that road, I just needed you to open my eyes a little." he gave a half smile, using one of his hands to touch the bruise on her face. "Maybe you don't wanna hear this right now....but I think being kicked out of Cobra Kai is the best thing that has ever happened to you."
Alexa shook her head. "Not true."
"Lex-" he started.
"You should have said second best thing." she corrected him with a cheeky grin. "I'd say the first was whenever you were homeless and sleeping on my floor."
Robby had to laugh, leaning in as she cradled the back of his head into a hug. "Okay, fine. Second best."
"I'll hold you to that theory." she smiled at him as they pulled back. "You really want me to come to Mexico? You don't think it'll ruin your father/son bonding trip? Ruin your trust falls and teamwork yoga classes?"
"Hum." Robby nodded as he pretended to think. "No, nope, I don't think so."
Alexa smiled widely. "Well, come help me pack our stuff and steal Ty's wallet."
Johnny looked over a few minutes later as he finally saw Robby, squinting when he saw someone connected to his hand. "What the hell?"
Robby opened up the door as Johnny leaned back, staring at Alexa. "She's part of the plan?"
"She's always part of the plan." Robby tossed the two bags to the other side of the van, letting Alexa in. "Don't piss her off."
"Wasn't planning on it." Johnny eyed her glaring state. "You still mad ab-"
"Shut up." she stopped him. "I'm not here for you. I hope you know that."
"Look, is this about Devon? Because I taught her the move I taught you?" he asked, hitting the gas again as Alexa flew back in her chair.
"The fact that you even need to ask-" she stared with a laugh of disbelief.
"Oh, cut the crap!" Johnny yelled at her. "I saw you in that hallway. You showed mercy."
"Dad." Robby scolded him. "Give her a break."
"Yeah, then got my ass kicked off the team for that." she scoffed from the back.
"Good! You don't need your head to be filled with that crap!" Johnny yelled back at her with a sharp turn. "Who gives a shit if you got kicked off the team? You wanna go back, is that what you're saying? Because I saw your face, I know you remember who you are."
"Oh are we gonna start this again? You yelling that at me is why I lost to Sam." Alexa glared at the back of his head. "You did it on purpose."
"So then answer the question!" he rose his voice, missing Robbys side glare. "You wanna go back to Cobra Kai? If your spot was given back
to you right now, you'd go back? After what you did for Hawk in the hallway? And what you said to Nichols?"
She was quiet, silent even. Johnny waited, but it was clear Alexa wasn't speaking. "I didn't think so."
Robby inhaled, partly glad his Dad had said it, but knew it had to have put an even heavier of a weight on Alexa after all that had happened in the past two hours. He moved as far back in his seat as he could, sneaking his hand through the tiny crack between the window and seat, pushing as far back as he could to push her ankle. It was painfully uncomfortable and he'd likely have the worst wrist and arm pain by the end of the ride, but Robby thought that would be okay as long as he got to hold her hand.
And she took it.
