"Jesus, it's cold." Alexa said after Deanna threw towels out the door to them, not wanting water on the floors because they were due for an inspection this weekend. "Like a polar bears toenail."

"A polar bears toenail?" Robby asked, taking her off guard, pulling his wet shirt over his head. Alexa didn't stare, but apart of her was tempted to. She pretended to be drying her hair, and Robby didn't seem the slightest bit bothers. "That's a new one."

"Never heard that before?" her teeth chattered, loosing her jacket to join his shirt, wrapping the towel around her tightly. "My dad use to say it all the time."

"Can't say I have." Robby said back, the pair kicking off their shoes by the door. "Anyone gonna seal these?"

"It should be fine until morning." Alexa said back, twisting the door knob as they headed through the apartment.

Deena laughed at the two from the couch, pulling the cigarette from her lips. "I'll flip the heater on for thirty, can't have the bill go up."

"Night." Alexa called, giving Ty a wave as they passed his door. Robby followed her into the room, wrapping the towel around his neck as he shut the door. "You wanna sweater?"

"One of yours?" he asked jokingly.

"It'll be fine." she pulled a green one from her closet, throwing it his way. "I have some thick pants too, hang on."

"Are these your ex boyfriends clothes?" Robby asked, pulling the sweater over his head, which she ended up being thankful for.

Alexa looked over at him in disbelief. "No, you asshole. They're my sick day clothes."

"Sorry." Robby laughed as she tossed plaid pajama pants his way.

Alexa gave an insane look. "Turn around while I change."

"Right, sorry." Robby turns around quickly, unzipping his own pants. Alexa cleared her throat slightly, pealing her shirt over her head, the uncomfortable feeling of the wet clothes no longer sticking to her body, dropping them on the towel. She glanced backward to make sure Robby wasn't looking her way, ending up being met with him already sitting on the bed, but his back was turned.

Alexa unbuttoned her jeans, slipping them down her legs and nearly tripping as her palm slapped against the wall to catch herself. Robby looked back quickly, immediately regretting it when he caught her in just her underwear, turning back around before she could see him. "You okay?"

"Yeah, just lost my footing." she answered, hurrying rather quickly to pull her own warm pants on, pulling the blue sweater from her closet and yanking it over her head. She walked back to her bed, sitting down as Robby glanced over. "They fit okay?"

"Yeah, great." Robby nodded, feeling comfortable in the attire she gave, despite it still being freezing. "You wanna go over our notes before we pass out?"

"Do you think we could just get up a little early and go over them then?" Alexa suggested, and it was clear she'd been extremely tired after tonight. "I'll set my alarm."

"Okay." Robby gave a small nod, a little smile to go along with it. "Good night."

Robby crawled onto his mattress on the floor, Alexa flipping the lamp off and hitting play on their rain noises. The heater didn't last long, but Alexa knew the bill would be high anyways. Under the sheets and in warm clothes was better then anything, but it didn't stop the fact that it was still overly cold. Robby was tossing around a lot, Alexa peaked over the side of her bed, the moonlight shining on his face to show his teeth had been chattering and his body shook slightly.

She immediately felt bad, realizing it was probably a lot colder on the floor then it was higher up. "Robby."

He turned on his back, looking up at her. "Yeah?"

"It's really cold close to the floor, huh?" Alexa asked, and he nodded. She nodded back. "You wanna just get up here with me?"

He didn't have to be asked twice, getting up quickly and brining the blanket with him. Alexa moved over as Robby took her side of the bed, throwing the extra blanket over the one she already had. He laid back, staying on his back while she curled up in a ball on her side. "Better?"

He looked over at her, nodding. "Much better."

Alexa and Robby studied for an hour before school, then he gave her a ride over on the back of his skateboard, yelling over the car honks science questions as well. Alexa was glad it was her first period, because it was still fresh on her brain. Usually she was bothered by the fact that Demetri sat right beside her in their assigned seats, but he was the last thing on her mind as her mind raced of every single flash card she ever saw, leg bouncing under the table tremendously.

She had the most of the test in the bag, answering all the questions quickly and with ease. But the last two had her in a choke hold, staring at them as her mind blanked quickly. Alexa knew in her head that she'd seen them on the flash cards, she couldn't remember matching them up and handing them to Robby.

"You think an F is acceptable?" her dad asked, staring across the table as he held her report card.

Alexa dropped her pen, rubbing her forehead quickly as she tried to rid her distractions, trying to focus. Demetri knew Alexa too well, and his eyes glanced in her direction. He'd never been the type, but he also knew how important this test was gonna be. His eyes glanced toward the teacher, his eyes down at the test that were already turned in. Demetri elbowed Alexa slightly, pulling her back as she looked over.

He scooted his final two questions her way. Alexa knew him too, she knew he had been a genius at this sorta of thing. She looked weary, but Demetri gave her a knowing look. She was quick to circle the final two questions before snapping her test shut. She nodded her head in a thank you, letting him and six others turn their test in before she stood up and did the same.

The waiting game was the hard part, because her leg was bouncing horribly and she felt like her chest was gonna burst any second now. Demetri looked over at her. "Sorry about the sprinklers."

Alexa didn't look his way, a slow blink as her eyes casted down. "It's whatever. Thanks for the last two."

What was there to say anymore? Nothing, really. This was how it was gonna be between them, and they both need to learn how to accept that they couldn't even be friends. Alexa knew him and Yasmine were together, and she tried not to be so bitter about it, because she'd been the one to dump Demetri after his nasty yelp review. He went to say something before the teacher called his name, causing him to go to the desk and get his test. Alexa watched in panic, knowing she was coming.

Robby waiting outside of the school, looking toward the entrance, waiting to see the familiar face. It took Alexa some time to come from the school, but when he finally saw her, he waved her over. Alexa ran across the parking lot. "Robby!"

"Did you pass?" He yelled as she was half way over.

"A B+!" she yelled, throwing her arms up as Robby caught her. Alexa's legs locked around his waist as they spun, both laughing and cheering on sync. "I was thinking C- at the most. But, B+? What the hell?"

"I told you." Robby set her down with a wide grin, taking the test. "Let me see this."

"We gotta frame it." Alexa beamed his way with a violent nod. She shook his shoulders harshly. "I don't have to repeat chemistry! I get to graduate next year with no more science!"

"See, pretty good barley friend." Robby grinned down at her.

"Thank you." she grinned up at him in joy, nodding her head. "I couldn't have done any of this without you."

Robby smiled. "I think a new pair of sunglasses are needed."

"I think you're right." Alexa agreed, getting on his board as he road them off toward the nearest gas station.

"Red?" Alexa asked, pulling the sunglasses on her face before shoving the orange ones on. "Or orange?"

"Orange." Robby confirmed with a nod of his head, pulling the green ones on. "Yes?"

Alexa reached over, pulling them off his face and replacing them with pale pink ones. "Much better."

Robby laughed, pulling them off with a nod. "I think these are the ones."

"You think correct." Alexa's grinned, pointing a finger his way, gripping the sleeve of his shirt to pull him and their sunglasses toward the check out.
