ONE OF US IS LYING.

That was Mia Hicks' first thought when she heard that her close friend, Tara Carpenter, had been attacked by a masked figure—by a Ghostface.  

Ever since her mother was involved in the 2011 Ghostface Murders, Mia had been keen on keeping a book of rules for horror movies. She would watch the Stab movies on loop, taking in every detail and writing down every rule that could help her survive if she ever found herself in the same position as someone like Sidney Prescott, the infamous final girl herself.

Throughout all the Stab movies, one rule seemed to be clear.  It's always someone you know.   In every movie, the killers—or killer, in Roman Bridger's case—always come back to the protagonist in one way or another.   Whether it be by blood, or just the fact that you shared a class in school.

So, when Mia first found out about her friend's Ghostface attack, she knew this wasn't just some random psycho with a thirst for blood.  No, whoever donned the mask had a purpose, a reason to go after Tara.  And who better than someone in their very own friend group?  Someone who had Tara's trust, and could easily back stab her—literally—without getting framed. 

Except nowadays, the friend group was always suspected first.  It wasn't that difficult to track down your target, to befriend them and gain their trust only to go behind their back in the end.  Mia knew how easy it was, and for that reason, she didn't fully trust her friends, let alone anyone in Woodsboro.  For all she knew, they could be scheming behind her back.....which is exactly what happened.

One of her friends was lying, and Mia had mere days to figure out who was before it was too late.  Before they were all dead.

so, i've only actually watched the 1st, 5th and 6th scream movies—don't hate.  someone convince me to watch the others because i have to motivation to actually do it, especially with 2 & 3. 

anyway.....here i am writing a scream v-vi fic! 

i used to be so afraid to watch horror movies when i was younger, but now i love the gore and shit.  i watched it and all of the sudden i realized it wasn't all that scary, but since my family isn't really into horror i never watched anymore movies.

ofc i'd heard of the scream series, but i'd honestly never been interested in watching it.  then, when scream vi dropped,  my friend was obsessed with ethan, and would send me edits to the point where i knew half of the movies plot.  she'd been wanting to rewatch it and i said  i'd be down to seeing it again with her and now here we are.  (yes, i watched the sixth movie without having seen any other movie, as well as knowing ethan was a killer).

it's been like a month since then, and i'm a proud fan of the series, (from the movies i've seen).   sometimes they can be repetitive and sometimes just flat out obvious abt who the killer was, (i'm sorry but ethan was so obviously one of them to me, even though i knew) but their otherwise some pretty good movies.

and since i'm a fanfic writer, what better than to write a fic?

now it's up to me to actually update and not give up on it because this was impulsive 😜
