"MARIA?" LUNA ECHOED.
She thought for a moment, racking her brain for any memories of ever seeing her face or hearing her name but there was none. Everything about her familiar but she just couldn't think of why.
Before she could utter another response, Maria wrapped her hand around the glass of animal blood before getting off of the stool she was sitting on.
"I wish I could stay longer, but I've got some things to do." Maria said, her smile having a hint of politeness in them but it was forced. Luna knew because she was practically the queen of forced smiles and laughs.
"It's nice to meet you, Luna. And congratulations on the marriage." Maria added, lifting her glass up a bit as if it was a toast before turning around and walking away.
Luna couldn't shake the feeling that Maria somehow congratulated her marriage in such a bitter way. She simply watched the brunette walk away with a skeptical look plastered across her face which she couldn't wipe off until she heard the angelic southern voice of her husband.
"Darlin'." Jasper called out.
Luna turned to face Jasper who neared her with a stunning woman next to him who greeted Luna with a genuine smile on her face.
"This is Aurora Martinez." Jasper introduced. "Rory, this is Selene. My wife."
Aurora's gold eyes shifted from Jasper to Luna and Luna couldn't help but secretly gawk at the gorgeous woman in front of her. She had silky light blonde hair that fell in soft waves just past her shoulders, her skin just as flawless and as pale as other vampires, and her height landing at assumingly five feet and five inches.
"Call me 'Luna'. It's what everybody calls me. Jazz here is just insistent in calling me 'Selene'." Luna explained.
Aurora released a soft laugh before she responded.
"Well then, you should call me 'Rory'." Aurora replied with her ever-so-beautiful smile that even Luna was shocked by her.
"Anyway, I heard you're a copycat. If you ask me, that's one hell of an ability." Aurora said, raising an eyebrow, impressed.
Luna shrug casually. "I'm pretty awesome."
Aurora's smile widened as she nodded in agreement.
"Well, why don't you copy me?" Aurora suggested.
Luna flickered her gaze between Aurora and Jasper as she became curious about the woman's ability.
"What's your special ability?" Luna asked, her eyes slightly squinting.
Aurora looked down on her hands and held one up in front of the dirty-blonde vampire.
"I have a blazing sense of touch." Aurora said, winking afterward.
Luna widened her eyes as a big smile appeared on her face, excitement bubbling inside her before she got off of the stool and neared the light blonde vampire.
Aurora encourages Luna to hold her hand, letting her copy her ability. Luna gladly accepted her hand.
For a moment, it was as normal as everything could be. But as seconds passed, she once again felt the exhilarating flow of electricity surge through her. But it was unlike any other. With the electricity, was the feeling of relaxing warmth, progressing into a fiery heat that Luna could assume had something to do with Aurora's statement earlier.
Luna lets go of Aurora's hand and she stared at her own hand, curious at what that energy came from as she held her hand out in front of her.
"Put your arm on the stool." Aurora told her.
Luna glanced at her in suspicion, seeing Aurora do some encouraging gestures. The dirty-blonde vampire placed her hand on top of the leather-cased cushion of the stool before looking back at Aurora.
"Remember that warmth you felt earlier?" Aurora asked. "Try and bring it back."
"And be careful." Jasper added, flickering his gaze between his wife and her hand rather worriedly.
"Okay." Luna simply answered before shifting her gaze back on her own hand placed on the stool.
She remembered the sensation she felt earlier. Its presence was subtle, but it was there. The warmth felt soothing, until the level of heat was becoming higher, dangerously high, as a matter of fact.
The next thing Luna knew, it wasn't only warmth anymore that her hand was feeling, it was now engulfed in flames that shocked Luna to the core.
"Oh fuck, put it out! Put it out!" Luna panicked, not wanting to be more associated with the only thing in the entire world that could completely destroy a vampire's body.
Jasper was about to make a move to help put the fire out of Luna's hand when the vampire bartender from behind the counter of the bar simply put it out by spraying the dirty-blonde vampire with the fire extinguisher that he was holding.
Instead of spraying at her hand only, the bartender sprayed at her entire body.
Aurora and Jasper watched with wide eyes as Luna became covered with white foam, the only thing visible in her entire body was her crimson red eyes that were shooting deadly glares at the bartender.
"Nice aim, jackass. I won't be surprised if you couldn't even aim your own dick at the toilet when you take a piss." Luna said, earning a scowl from the vampire before he walked away, leaving the fire extinguisher on the counter while muttering a few words under his breath.
"I heard that!" Luna shouted.
The two blonde vampires standing in front of Luna stifled a laugh, swallowing it when Luna's glare turned to them.
"It took me a while to master it." Aurora said.
"You should've at least gave me a warning." Luna said as she wipes off the foam off her face and arms.
Aurora pushed her lips into a thin line and shrugged her shoulders. "Where's the fun in that?"
Luna squinted her eyes at the light-blonde vampire, not because she was starting to hate her, but because she was realizing that if she was in Aurora's position, she would've done and said the same thing. They were eerily similar.
Luna was about to say something when Aurora's sweet smile turned into an angry scowl in just a split second.
Aurora grabbed the fire extinguisher from the counter and swiftly tossed it across the room, banging it at the head of a vampire who was standing before a cabinet of her precious collection, which the vampire had opened to touch one of it.
"Mierda! Stop fucking touching my Captain America collection!" Aurora shouted at the top of her lungs before walking away from the married couple.
Luna watched the light-blonde woman walk away from them with wide eyes, realizing more how their similarities were unbelievably uncanny. She glanced back at her husband who was wearing a smirk.
"She's me!" Luna exclaimed.
"I told you, you'd love her." Jasper replied.
An amused smile appeared on Luna's face before looking back at Aurora who was still shouting at the poor vampire that fared to touch her collection.
"Come on. We'll take the animal blood to go. We need to get you cleaned up." Jasper said, offering his hand.
Luna nodded and took Jasper's hand. Before either of them could take another step, Luna's gaze landed on the bracelet left on the countertop of the bar in front of the seat Maria was sitting at earlier.
"Oh, she left this." Luna said as she reached for the bracelet.
Seeing Luna holding the gold bracelet embellished with Lapis Lazuli caused Jasper to become pale even more, albeit impossible. Like he had seen a ghost as he stared at the bracelet in shock.
"Who left it?" Jasper asked, hoping that his wife won't say the name he thinks she's gonna say.
"Some vampire named Maria." Luna said.
Jasper stiffened in his position, his jaw clenching in anger as he looked away from his wife and looked around, trying to search for the vampire that dared to show up her face in front of his wife.
"It's weird. She looked really familiar and I asked for her name and she just became even more familiar but I can't...I can't remember where I knew her from." Luna rambled, clueless about the situation. "Here I thought being a vampire means I have a clear memory."
Jasper swallowed hard, his expression still stern before attempting to act like nothing's wrong.
"Let me take this. I'm gonna give it to Rory later so she could return it to the owner." Jasper said, gently taking the bracelet from his wife with a smile on his face.
Luna felt anger and anxiety bubbling inside her but she knew it wasn't because of her, therefore, she narrowed her eyes at her soulmate.
"Jazz, are you okay?" She asked, squeezing his hand gently.
Somehow, the sweet voice of his wife calmed him down at the moment. He sighed deeply and his forced smile was now replaced with a genuine one.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Come on." Jasper responded.
A smile tugged on Luna's lips as she felt the anger and anxiety he was feeling vanish as they walk out of the lounge.

After helping Luna clean herself up, which lead to a quickie in the shower room that they have destroyed too, Jasper went to see Aurora to talk about the fact that Maria was on the island, possibly attempting to ruin the life that he now has with his loving wife.
"That's impossible. I told my staff to keep a strict watch on the vampires that come in and out of this island." Aurora said, her arms crossed against her chest.
"I know. But is there any chance that one of your staff may be in on it?" Jasper asked.
Aurora thought for a moment as she stared at her good friend, clenching her jaw in the process.
"Joder. Well, if there is, there's a ninety-nine percent chance that I might break a nail at the end of the day." Aurora answered, her Spanish roots slightly taking over.
Jasper ran his palms down his face in frustration before responding.
"I'll take a walk around. You deal with the staff." Jasper said while Aurora simply nodded.
The two friends split up to do their own sides of the plan. Aurora rounded up the staff in charge of the vampire section of the island while Jasper took a walk around the island, looking for Maria.
It went on for hours. Jasper refused to go back to his wife until the situation was dealt with. Luna has been calling for him within those couple of hours that he had been roaming around the island and all Jasper could tell her was that he was just sorting out some things for their honeymoon, which was starting to get suspicious if you ask Luna.
She had been stuck in the beach house for hours without a husband to fool around with. Luna was certain that Alice made sure everything on their honeymoon was well-planned so that they didn't have to worry. But Jasper was there running around the island doing all sorts of things and using their honeymoon activities as an excuse to cover up what he was really doing.
She knew something was wrong and the fact that Jasper was hiding it from her was sending Luna over the edge.
It took Jasper all night searching for Maria. The sun has already emerged out of the horizon before he finally caught the familiar scent of the vampire he had been looking for. His hands balled into fists when the anger inside him started to arise.
Before he could react further, he was suddenly thrown and pinned to the sandy ground harshly. A woman straddled him with her hand wrapped around his neck tightly. Her bright red eyes contrasted to the dim night as she stared down at the honey-blonde vampire.
"Miss me?" Maria asked, a smirk curling on her lips.
Jasper clenched his jaw and grabbed a hold of her wrist before harnessing all of his energy to flip them over. Maria's smirk turned into an amused grin as she looked up at the furious vampire holding her down.
"This kinda reminds me of the old times." Maria said.
She could see the anger Jasper has towards her and the protectiveness he has towards his wife. And it pissed her off knowing that she wasn't the woman he was protecting anymore, albeit she never loved him once, she loved how Jasper would do anything for her.
Maria pushed him off her, sending him a few feet away. He landed perfectly on the sandy ground and whipped his head towards the brunette vampire with a scowl on his face.
"What are you doing here?" Jasper asked, his glare not wavering from her.
Maria stood up swiftly, cocked an eyebrow, and smirked. "I missed you."
"You mean you missed using me?" Jasper said.
"Oh, don't be so dramatic. You loved it." Maria taunted.
This only made the honey-blonde vampire hiss in anger before coming after her with such speed, grabbing her neck tightly that it made her skin crack slightly as she grunted.
"I despise it, and I despise you. So, I'm going to ask again, what the fuck are you doing here?" Jasper snarled.
Maria finally snapped as well and slammed her head against Jasper's, putting him in a slight daze before she shoved him forcefully enough to have him staggering backward.
"That's no way to treat a lady." Maria remarked.
"You're not a lady."
"And Luna is?"
Jasper stiffened in his position at the mention of his wife's name. His jaw clenched as his glare became extremely stern. Maria was standing in dangerous territory just by mentioning his soulmate's name.
"Yeah, Luna Swan. Or...Hale, now, is it?" Maria said, taunting the honey-blonde vampire. "I heard you two got married. I had to see it for myself."
"That's what you're doing here? Checking up on my love life?" Jasper asked.
"Is it that hard to believe?" Maria said, pushing her eyebrows together as if she was clueless when she's actually far from it.
"Bullshit." Jasper snarled.
Maria clenched her jaw before sighing deeply.
"Okay, fine." Maria gave in. "I need you."
Jasper scoffed, a bitter laugh escaping his lips as he shook his head.
"Justโ" Jasper sighed. "Stay away, Maria."
"I need you, Jasper." Her eyes pleading as she neared him. "You got to admit, we were a great team."
"No, you were great at manipulating people."Jasper said.
"I didn't manipulate you into doing them. You simply did them out of love." Maria responded, making Jasper more infuriated.
"Don't you speak about love as if you know the word. You're a cold-hearted bitch, you always have been." Jasper said.
Maria clenched her jaw and swallowed hard as her pleading eyes turned into a furious glare. Jasper took threatening steps towards the woman, his glare never leaving her as he responded.
"I'm not gonna let you ruin our honeymoon. So, this is a warning..." Jasper said. "If you ever show your face again, I'll make sure my wife and I have so much fun ripping your head off. God knows how much she enjoys that, especially when it's you."
Jasper took one last glare at the furious brunette before he turned around and started walking away.
While all of that was happening, Luna was in her bed, along with four other bottles of red wine. Three of them were empty while the last one was already half-empty.
She sat on the destroyed bed with a glass of wine in her hand, drinking away, not minding that the red wine tasted like dirt to her now because of her vampirism.
Aurora, assuming that Jasper was with Luna by now considering that it was already six a.m., came by to have a talk with the honey-blonde vampire about Maria and the vampire that Aurora recently murdered for betraying her, only to find his wife on the bed with an irritated look on her face.
"Luna?" Aurora said, earning Luna's attention. "Where's Jasper? He's not downstairs."
"I don't know." Luna said, a sarcastic laugh falling off her lips.
Aurora looked at all the bottles of red wine sprawled across the bed.
"What happened?" She asked.
Luna gulped another full glass of wine, grimacing at the disgusting taste of the liquid pouring down her tongue and throat before responding.
"Let's see. I had amazing, and I mean, amazing sex with my husband last night. I was nearly burned to death earlier, until the bartender with the bad aim sprayed me. I had another amazing sex in the shower." Luna rambled as Aurora stared at her with raised eyebrows. "Now, my husband has gone off to God knows where while I'm here raiding the wine cellar at six a.m."
Luna took the half-empty bottle of wine and filled her wine glass again before pouring the liquid down her throat.
Aurora stared at her with guilt while she tried to drown herself with wine. Luna had been waiting for her husband to come back the whole night. The least Aurora could do was make her feel better while Jasper deals with his side of the plan.
"Come on. I'll take you partying." Aurora said.
Luna furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, taking a glimpse out of the large window, seeing the bright sun just hovering above the horizon.
"Rory, the sun just came up and you're talking about partying?" Luna asked.
The light-blonde vampire smirked as she placed her cold palms on her equally cold hips.
"Well, you haven't been to my party." Aurora said. "Dress up, Hale. We're going to the Nightwalkers."
โโโ โ โโ โฆ โโ โ โโโ
At first, Luna was confused about what Aurora meant by 'Nightwalkers' but when she saw the big neon sign at the top of the double doors of a club that said the same thing, she was finally enlightened.
Everyone in the line outside the club was all vampires. That's when figured out that the club was reserved for vampires only, hence, the name of the club.
"ยฟCรณmo va todo, Julio?" [How's everything doing, Julio?] Aurora asked the huge vampire guard at the doorway.
"Excelente." Julio, the security guard, answered.
Aurora gave the man a smile before gesturing for him to let her and Luna in. The dirty-blonde vampire was about to enter the club when she saw a familiar honey-blonde vampire at the corner of her eye.
She whipped her head towards the beach and there she saw Jasper with a woman standing a few feet away from him. Thanks to her enhanced sight, she was able to recognize the woman as Maria, the one she had a conversation with at the bar yesterday.
Luna managed to tune out the loud music banging on the speakers inside the club to listen in on their conversation.
"I need you, Jasper. You got to admit, we were a great team."
"No, you were great at manipulating people."
"I didn't manipulate you into doing them. You simply did it out of love."
"Don't you speak about love as if you know the word. You're a cold-hearted bitch, you always have been. I'm not gonna let you ruin our honeymoon. So, this is a warning...If you ever show your face again, I'll make sure my wife and I have so much fun ripping your head off. God knows how much she enjoys that, especially when it's you."
Luna had been racking her brain, figuring out why the woman was so oddly familiar and up until this very moment, she finally recognized her. She wasn't able to recognize her sooner because she was busy searching her memories when she should be searching Jasper's.
She was the woman Jasper loved. The vampire who turned him and used him for her own benefit.
"Luna?" Aurora called out, confused as to why she was simply standing there.
Aurora had to follow her gaze before her creased forehead smoothed out, seeing Jasper walking away from Maria.
Luna thought that that was the end of their conversation. But what happened next made the remaining blood in her system boil in extreme fury.
Maria sped her way in front of the honey-blonde vampire and took his face into her hands.
"I need you by my side again, Jasper. I know you still love me, and deep down you know it too. You just need a little more push." Maria said, their faces dangerously close to each other.
Without giving Jasper another second to react, Maria leaned in and caught his lips in hers.
Something blew up inside Luna. She knew it, Aurora knew it. It was like something Luna had caged up her entire life suddenly broke out and now her eyesight had turned bloody red. Aurora swore that she saw the woman's palms smoke as she clenched her fists.
Luna managed to take the clutch purse placed between her body and arm and handed it to Aurora, her gaze not leaving the brunette vampire that dared to touch her husband.
"Hold my purse."
