BELLA AND EDWARD HAD gone on their honeymoon. And while the newly married couple is enjoying their time alone, Luna, Valerie, and the rest of the Cullens have decided to do little fun days together.

The Cullens have been helping Luna in adjusting and mastering her special ability. The redhead volunteered for her to be copied by Luna. She hadn't gone away yet considering that she didn't have anything better to do.

Valerie has the ability to tap into people's fears, to induce them to her victims so that she can lower or completely shatter their guard. It was what she did to Victoria when she tried to convince her to go home, to let her fear make her vulnerable and give in.

It was too late before Valerie realized that Victoria's biggest fear was facing her sister, which made her run the opposite direction.

"You ready?" Valerie asked.

"Hell yeah." Luna answered.

Valerie held out her hand in front of Luna and the dirty-blonde vampire stared at it before her hand made its way to touch hers. Once again, a flow of overwhelming electricity surged throughout her body. Her lips parted as she took all that she needs before letting go.

Luna's crimson red eyes glanced up at Valerie to see an encouraging look from her before she stepped away.

The newborn turned towards the Cullens, seeing them waiting for what she'll do next. She knew that the power she possesses right now is something that is harmful to the mind.

She needed to start small, so that whoever she chooses to be her test monkey won't be too overwhelmed and freak out.

Her eyes landed on Jasper. The main reason was because she wanted to know what his biggest fear was. So that she can protect him from it.

A small smile tugged on her soulmate's lips before she started to tap into his fears.

The first thing she saw was herself. But not as how Jasper usually sees her; remarkable and breathtaking. No. It was her, but in multiple broken states. She was either leaving him, taken away from him, or dead. His biggest fear was losing her.

The smile on Jasper's face faded as the fear of losing her crept in. His mind started to make up images about different ways he could lose her.

And each and every scene that plays in his mind inches the honey-blonde vampire closer to breaking as he watched the love of his life drift away from him over and over and over again.

Luna herself could feel how scared Jasper was at the moment and she couldn't help but look at him in concern. Everyone watched in worry as Jasper became nearer to his emotional breakdown.

Before it could all break Jasper completely, the honey-blonde vampire suddenly speeds his way towards his soulmate and hugs her like his life depended on it.

"Stop...Selene, please stop." Jasper whispered, his arms wrapping around her tightly. "I-I can'tโ”€I can't take it."

Esme placed a hand over her mouth as she was comforted by Carlisle beside her. Rose and Emmett shared a worried glance before wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Alice closed her eyes and turned to Jackie, immediately hugging her. While Valerie simply looked at the people around her, a sad smile appearing on her lips as she wondered why she had no one next to her that would make her feel the way they made each other feel.

Luna hugged Jasper in return as he tried to get the horrifying thoughts of losing her out of his head.

"I'm sorry." Luna whispered. "I'm so sorry."

Jasper closed his eyes as he continued to hug Luna tightly, as if loosening his grasps on the girl just even a little bit would suddenly make her disappear. He never felt this way aside from when he found the love of his life sprawled across the hood of the crashed car, all bloodied and whimpering, clinging on for dear life. Never had he felt fear more intense than when he saw her gold eyes slowly losing its life.

"I won't leave you, Jazz." She whispered.

If they could produce tears right now, the two would've shed several by now. The fear was too great that it had them almost break down.

"Till the moon's upside down, remember?" Luna told him.

Jasper didn't respond. Instead, he nuzzled into her neck and let themselves remain in that position as long as needed.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€ โœฆ โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€โ”€

It's in the middle of the night and Luna was lying awake in her own bed, not that she can go to sleep anyway. She has been waiting for Jasper to come by. He was supposed to come hours ago to keep her company during the night like he usually does.

But for some reason, Jasper didn't show, and Luna couldn't shake this feeling that it has something to do with what happened earlier when she was training.

After opening the lights in her room, she reached for her phone and searched for Jasper's contact before clicking 'call'.

It kept ringing, making Luna grow impatient by every ring.

"Pick up, Jazz." She whispered to herself.

The call rang for a few more before it was declined.

Luna's eyes widened in surprise. He declined her call. For the very first time, he declined her call.

"What the fuck?" She said, not knowing if she should feel mad, concerned, or both.

Luna tried a couple more times and she got nothing more than declined calls. The dirty-blonde have become frustrated as she walked back and forth in the middle of her room, starting to feel frantic.

She then went on to dial Jackie's phone number and try to talk to her instead.

Unlike Jasper, Jackie answered quickly.

"Hey, Luna. What's up?" Jackie greeted.

"Hey. Can I talk to Jasper?" Luna asked.

Jackie furrowed her eyebrows as she walked around the empty house.

"All of them went hunting. Why don't you just call him?" Jackie responded.

"You don't think I tried that? I already did. Sixteen times. He's ignoring me!" Luna said, starting to freak out.

"Jasper? Ignoring you? That doesn't sound like him at all." Jackie commented, her voice sounding genuinely confused through the phone.

"Exactly! He never ignores me." Luna stated while she proceeded on pacing around her room in an agitated manner.

"Okay, just breathe."

"I'm dead, Jackie."

"Right. Don't breathe then. Just...calm down. Maybe he's just really busy catching the biggest Bambi or whatever. He'll call you after."

Luna stopped in the middle of her room and nodded.

"Yeah. Yeah, I mean...that makes sense." Luna said. "I'll just wait for him to call me back, then?"

"Yes. You don't have to worry about anything." Jackie assured her.

Luna closed her eyes and sighed as she sat down on her bed, finally letting herself relax.

"Okay. Okay, thank you, Jackie. Good night. Bye." Luna said.

"Good night, Luna. Bye-bye." Jackie said before the call ended.

Luna releases another deep sigh before letting herself fall back to her bed to once again lie wide awake.

After an hour, the Olympic Coven had finally arrived back home with satisfied looks on their faces.

"Hey, I've got news." Jackie told them.

The vampires looked at the human in curiosity before they went to their places in the living room.

"Well, what is it?" Carlisle asked.

Jackie crossed her arms against her chest before she spoke.

"Luna called me and she's freaking out because Jasper's ignoring her." Jackie told them.

All heads turned to Jasper with appalled expression taking over their facial features. Jasper could only roam his gaze between all of them, not knowing what he should say.

"What? Why are you ignoring Luna?" Alice asked as she seated beside him.

"Yeah, are you out of your mind? She'll make you suffer for that, you know?" Emmett stated.

Everyone in the room waited for the honey-blonde vampire to answer and tell them why he was ignoring, of all people, Luna.

"I didn't notice her calling." Jasper simply said.

He was sure everyone each cocked an eyebrow as a sign that neither of them believes what he just said.

"Jasper, she called you sixteen times and you didn't answer a single one." Jackie told him.

Jasper rubs the back of his neck, feeling anxious considering that he's running out of sensible excuses.

"All sixteen?" Rose said. "Oofโ”€You're dead."

Everyone agreed. Luna doesn't like being ignored. It's one of the many things that she hates.

"You're avoiding her, Jasper. Why is that?" Esme asked.

Jasper's golden eyes wandered around the faces of everyone in the living room, internally debating on whether or not he should tell them the truth.

"Does it have something to do with Luna's training earlier?" Carlisle asked.

His gaze went towards his foster father before sighing.

"Yes. But not in the way you think." Jasper said.

Jasper roams his gaze around everyone's faces once more before he spoke.

"If I tell you, would you please keep it from Luna?" Jasper asked.

Everyone shared glances and nodded before moving a bit closer as their curiosity swallowed them whole.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€ โœฆ โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€โ”€

Morning came and he never called back. She has had it. Staring at the ceiling, waiting for him to call for seven hours was more than enough to piss Luna off.

"Daddy, I'm gonna go to Jasper's for a while. He's been ignoring me." Luna said as the dirty-blonde vampire ran down the stairs.

Charlie, who was drinking coffee in the dining room, looked at his daughter with a creased forehead.

"What do you mean he's ignoring you?" He asked.

Luna looked at his dad, her hair flipping in the process and that's when Charlie saw the furious and worried look on the girl's face.

"I mean, I called him numerous times and he declined each and every one of them." Luna replied.

The statement made Charlie shoot his eyebrows upward as he brought his cup of coffee towards his mouth.

"Oh, he's a dead man." He said before he took a sip.

"That he is." Luna muttered to herself.

"I'll be back before dinner, daddy. Sorry if I'll leave you here alone today." Luna told her dad as she hugged him from behind.

"I won't be alone. Sue Clearwater will be coming over later." Charlie replied in a rather awkward manner.

Luna cocked an eyebrow and smiled in amusement as she saw the way her dad became suddenly sheepish at the mention of Sue coming over.

"Well, well, well. Look at you, finally getting yourself out there again." Luna said as she pulled away from him. "You're going to tell me everything when I come home."

"I figured." Charlie said.

Luna abandons the teasing smile and replaces it with a genuine one before she said goodbye.

"Bye, daddy." She said.

The man simply waved at her before she disappeared from his sight and heard the door open and close, indicating her departure.

After a couple of minutes, a knock from the door of the Swan Residence was to be heard.

Charlie immediately stood up and fixed his hair. He adjusted his shirt to look a little more presentable before making his way towards the front door to open it with a smile.

He was expecting Sue Clearwater to be standing behind the door with her warm smile on, but instead, the door revealed a honey-blonde vampire.

"Good morning, Chief Swan." Jasper greeted the man.

Charlie's warm smile turned into a confused one as he looked at the 'young' man standing on his porch.

"Good morning to you, too, Jasper." Charlie replied. "Luna actually just went out to kick your ass for ignoring her."

Jasper couldn't help but laugh softly at Charlie's words.

"I have a perfectly good reason for that. But, I'm not looking for Luna. I'm here to talk to you. May I come in?" Jasper said.

Charlie shoved his hands into his pockets and tilted his head slightly as he thought of whether or not now is a good time.

"You know, I'm actually expecting some company. How about you just tell me here?" Charlie said.

Jasper nodded once before a tight-lipped but genuine smile was planted on his lips.

"Okay, then." Jasper said. "I would like to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage."

Charlie felt like his whole body stiffened and froze in his spot. He wasn't moving as he stared at the honey-blonde vampire in a shocked state.

"I guess we can talk inside." Charlie said, stepping aside to make way for Jasper to come in.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€ โœฆ โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€โ”€

"Hey, is Jasper here?" Luna said as she stepped inside the Cullen house.

She saw everyone gathered casually in the living room, including Valerie who just got there and just heard about the news, talking among themselves before they looked at Luna.

"No, he went out to go somewhere." Alice said.

Luna furrowed her eyebrows before crossing her arms against her chest.

"What, is the moon upside down already and he decided to run back to Texas?" Luna joked, her voice coming off harsher now.

Everyone refused to speak, knowing that they'll experience Luna's wrath so they turned to the one person Luna could never shout at.

Carlisle felt his family's eyes on him and he sighed before he took it upon himself to step forward and face Luna.

"I'm sure he'll be back soon." Carlisle said.

Luna narrowed her eyes at the leader of the Olympic Coven and the father-figure of the Cullen family. She took a few intimidating steps towards the blonde vampire before she spoke.

"There's something you're not telling me." She said. Her eyes then averted to the other people in the room, seeing the way everyone trying desperately to avoid her gaze.

"You people know something." Luna said. "Spill."

The Cullens shared nervous and worried glances, deciding who could come up with a better lie. Apparently, that's Emmett.

"Yeah, Moonie, you-uhm-really got to him with the whole fear-tapping thing." Emmett said.

The Cullens looked at him with wide eyes, implying that he should've said a lie that won't make Luna feel terrible about herself.

"I knew it." Luna said.

The dirty-blonde vampire made her way between Jackie and Alice before plummeting down into the couch. She wore a sad expression as she thought about how much she regretted what she did.

Remembering how he looked like that moment when his biggest fear started to creep in made her feel even more guilty.

"I didn't mean to do that. I justโ”€Ugh, I'm so stupid." Luna said before burying her face into her palms.

"No, you're not stupid. Jasper knows you didn't mean to scare him like that." Valerie said when she went to sit on the coffee table and reach for the newborn's hands.

"Val's right. He probably just needs some time to think and calm himself." Rosalie said.

"Well, I can't just sit around here and wait for him. I mean, you guys know me. I'm so damn impatient. I need to do something or else I'd spiral back into one of my not-so-silent episodes." Luna said.

Everyone widened their eyes when they remembered a story that Luna had told them about when she was young and her favorite pen was missing.

The girl screamed bloody murder around the entire school, scaring poor children as she marched into every classroom in search for her pen that was simply at the bottom of her own bag.

Everyone erupted into responses of 'Yeah', 'Sure', and other replies of agreements, just so they won't be the poor children of this version of her episode.

"Maybe you should do something that would make him feel more comforted that you won't ever leave him." Jackie suggested.

Luna tilted her head as she stared blankly ahead of her, numerous ideas going through her head all at once before one particular idea caught her attention and made her perk up.

"You're right. I should do something." Luna said.

The dirty-blonde vampire glanced at Jackie with a sure yet nervous smile tugging on Luna's lips.

"And I know just the thing." Luna added.

โ”€โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€ โœฆ โ”€โ”€ โ– โ”€โ”€โ”€

Jasper came home only to find the house empty and to later on be dragged by Emmett into the woods without an explanation.

"Emmett, I'm gonna ask you again. Where are we going and why?" Jasper asked.

Emmett sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"Remember that big secret you told us? And how you want us to do whatever it takes to keep her from knowing about it before you do it?" Emmett said.

Jasper abruptly stopped walking before turning to look at Emmett with a furious gaze.

"Please, don't tell me that you told her." Jasper said.

"No! No, we didn't. But...it turns out 'whatever it takes' is a little too far." Emmett said.

Jasper furrowed his eyebrows at his adoptive sibling before Emmett walked forward and emerged into the clearing, where a cliff can be seen at the edge. That's when Jasper noticed that they just arrived in his and Luna's special place.

Coming out of the woods, Jasper saw his family at the other side with excited and nervous smiles plastered across their faces.

He looked in another direction and there he saw Luna a couple of feet away from the edge, where they usually sit and talk, and do...other things.

Jasper furrowed his eyebrows as he approached the dirty-blonde vampire with a confused smile planted on his lips.

"Darlin', what is this?" Jasper asked.

Luna gulped and stared at the love of her life as her fingers unknowingly fiddled with each other. If her heart was beating right now, it would be pounding against her chest because of the level of anxiety that the girl is feeling at the moment.

"I'm sorry." Luna said.

Jasper furrowed his eyebrows, but his smile never faltering.

"For what?" He asked.

"For scaring you. For letting you think that there is the slightest possibility of me leaving you." Luna answered.

Jasper shakes his head as he neared her, placing his hands on her face before he responded.

"No. It's okay. Don't worry about it." He assured her.

"No, it's not okay. They told me how freaked out you've been ever since I tapped into your fear. That you've been ignoring me because you needed time to think." Luna explained.

Jasper's smile faltered and he sighed as he brought his hands down from her cheeks before turning towards his family with disbelief.

"Seriously?" He told them.

The rest of the Cullens and the redhead pointed to Emmett. While Luna thought that they're blaming Emmett for telling her the truth, everyone was blaming Emmett for coming up with the stupidest lie.

"No, don't be mad at them. I kinda forced them to tell me." Luna justified. "And while I was with them, I thought for a bit. I was scared that you might do stupid things because you think that there's a chance that I would ever leave you. So, I came up with an idea to let you know that you're going to be stuck with me forever."

Luna stepped back before bringing herself down to the ground on one knee.

The Cullens watched in surprise when the dirty-blonde vampire was actually serious about the plan that she told them. Valerie couldn't help but place a hand over her mouth after a gasp fell off her lips.

Jasper widened his eyes at the love of his life kneeling with one knee in front of him.

"Selene, darlin', what are you doing?" He asked with an appalled expression still evident on his face. "Get up."

"No. I want to do this. I need to do this." Luna said.

The dirty-blonde vampire gently removed her ring from her finger and held it out before him.

"I know this ring's gonna be a little small for you. But, maybe you can fit it in your pinky, you know?" Luna said, a nervous laugh falling from her lips.

Jasper proceeded to look at her in shock as Luna went on.

"I love you till the moon is upside down. You know that. I can't continue without you. I want to be with you today, tomorrow, the next day, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the day after thatโ”€you get what I mean." Luna said.

Everyone could tell how nervous the girl was. She was rambling and her voice sounded like anytime now, it's gonna break.

"I love you...so muchโ”€Oh my God my voice just cracked." Luna said.

The others couldn't help but laugh at Luna's reaction to her own voice breaking, even Jasper laughed despite being so nervous himself.

"Okay, see, now I know why girls are never tasked to do this!" She exclaimed before burying her face into her palms.

Jasper shook his head as he laughed before he kneeled in front of her so they could face each other. He removed her hands away from her face to see the nervous and frustrated expression on her face.

"Here, let me." He said. "Let's get that ring back in there."

He took the ring from her hands and placed it back on her finger before reaching in his pocket to take out a white velvet ring box.

The sight of the box in the honey blonde's hands caused Luna to part her lips in shock. It was her turn to be surprised and to look at Jasper in disbelief.

"What the actual fuck?" Luna whispered.

Jasper smiled at the reaction of the vampire in front of him.

"It was supposed to be a surprise, us in this spot with the moon high in the night sky and the ground embellished with rose petals. You just spoiled my plans, darlin'." Jasper told her.

Luna gathered enough strength so she could manage to say just one sentence.

"That's what you've been doing?" She asked.

Jasper nodded, before opening up the ring box to reveal the most stunning engagement ring Luna has ever seen.

A whimper fell off her lips as she fully dropped to the ground, not kneeling anymore and just simply sitting on the ground.

She placed a hand over her mouth as she flickered her gaze between the ring and the love of her life.

"I got your father's blessing." Jasper said.

Luna looked at him, still in shock.

"Selene, the first time I saw you, I thought you were stubborn, loud, obnoxious, and overly sarcastic. I thought you were annoying because of it but really, it's what makes you different from all the rest." Jasper started.

Her hand never left her mouth as she continued to look at him with wide eyes.

"For decades, I've felt like someone who shouldn't have been given a chance to live. Because I felt empty and useless. Until you. Selene, you made my heart beat again. You gave my life purpose. You showed me what it's like to love someone so deep that the smallest things you do place the widest smiles on my face. So deep that even though I'm one of the coldest persons on earth, you make me feel warm inside." Jasper added, his filled with sincerity and admiration unlike any other.

Valerie and the Cullens proceeded to watch the couple as they make one of the most memorable moments of their lives.

"Selene Swan, my ever-so-sarcastic darlin'," Jasper began, staring right at the stunned girl with her eyes searching his eyes if there's any sign that this could all just be a dream.

"Will you marry me?" He finally said. "Pretty please with a cherry on top."

A smile stretched on Luna's lips as she nodded frantically, not needing another second to think about because she already knows her answer.

"Yes! Fucking yes!" Luna exclaimed before crashing her lips into his.

Jasper smiled into the kiss as he pulled her closer by the waist and Luna deepened the kiss as she pulled him by the neck.

The others cheered at the background, clapping as the scene before them become one of the most heartwarming moments they have ever seen.

"Okay, wait, I still need to slip on the ring." Jasper told her as soon as he pulled away.

"Oh, right. The fucking beautiful ring!" Luna exclaimed.

Jasper takes the ring out of the box and gently slips it on Luna's finger. It was an absolutely perfect fit.

"Fucking hell." She whispered as she stared at the ring on her finger.

"It has diamonds and...moonstone. I just thought it would add more meaning to it." Jasper said as he flickered his gaze between her and the ring.

"I fucking love you." Luna said.

Jasper couldn't help but laugh at his soulmate's frequent cursing.

"You keep cursing."

"I don't give a flying fuck. I'm engaged!"

Luna leans in again to meet his lips and the two kissed with pure emotions as they proceeded to kneel on the ground, near the edge of the cliff where the setting sun shone down on them and made their skin gleam just like how their eyes sparkled at the sight of the love of their lives.
