Thor's golden locks and rugged ruby cape billowed as the wind whipped into the small cabin of the quinjet, a storm Melaina was sure came from his own very creation. Roaring in the background as he lifted up his silver hammer with malicious intent, anger swirling in his blue eyes.

Within what felt like nanoseconds, Tony had charged at the blonde god. Lifting his energy-charged fist and preparing to send a powerful beam of light straight into Thor's irritating face. But his efforts proved futile as Thor simply lifted his hammer and slammed it into Iron Man's chest,  sending him flying across the room and into Steve's unprepared body.

A snarl ripped past Melaina's lips as she stalked towards the God, her hand tightening around the obsidian spear in her grip. She wasted no time propelling the sharpened point towards Thor's face, watching as he narrowly managed to get out of its direct path. But he was not quick enough to dodge the blade that cut at his cheekbone, searing through the skin and exposing the scarlet blood that lay beneath.

Thor growled in anger at the cut, crashing his hammer into her spear and knocking it from her hold. And without a second thought, he grasped ahold of her neck and slammed her against the metal wall. Her skull harshly colliding with the golden helmet on her head as the oxygen was knocked from her lungs. He tightened his hold on her neck, severing her airway as he held her against the wall. A position she would normally enjoy if it weren't for the fact it was her blood given enemy that held her there.

But she didn't have to ponder the thought for very long as Thor swiftly threw her across the room and into the opposite wall. Her brain rattling inside her skull as she fell to the floor. Unable to push herself up to her feet quick enough to stop Thor grasping ahold of his brother and flying out the opened hangar.

Melaina ignored Tony and Steve who were both pushing themselves back up as she sauntered over to the back of the plane. Vexation churning in her veins like a deformed bacteria, infecting her blood with its poison.

"Come back here you miscreant son of a Viking." She snarled, flicking her wrist and watching as an onyx portal grew by her side, ready to take her after the troublesome siblings.

"Don't!" Steve shouted, his hand curling around her forearm hurriedly in an attempt to stop her following after the two Gods. Forcing her emerald eyes to meet his concerned ones. "You can't take him on alone."

"Remember who you are talking to, mortal." She growled, rage flaring in her eyes like a jade flame. "You may be pretty but not pretty enough to disrespect me like that."

Their eyes hardened on each other for a moment, neither breaking contact as they started their silent fight. Steve wordlessly arguing for her to wait as Melaina wished to follow after the two and render them to smithereens. But the longer they continued staring, Melaina found herself being persuaded to stay. Not because of his beautiful eyes (which most definitely weren't a factor), but because she wanted to show Steve herself that she was a God more than capable of apprehending an Asgardian herself.

With an annoyed grunt, Melaina let the portal by her side disappear with a slight pop. Her eyes rolling angrily as she heard Steve let out a sigh of relief. His hand falling away from her arm, exposing the now warmed flesh to the icy air, the fire that had only seconds before licked against her skin extinguished with the removal of his touch.

Turning to Tony, Steve drew away from Melaina anxiously. "Think the guy's a friendly?"

"He's so friendly that he thought he would greet us by slamming tin can over there against the wall and choking me like some sicko." Melaina interrupted, rolling her eyes frustratedly.

Ignoring her words, Tony started walking towards the back of the jet. "Doesn't matter. If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost."

"Stark, we need a plan of attack!" Steve yelled, his voice slightly muffled by the raging wind.

"I have a plan. Attack." And with that, Iron Man's thrusters lit up in a torrid flame of bright tangerine and he flew out into the dark night sky. Leaving behind a gang of irritated heroes.

"I like that plan." Melaina grumbled, picking up her spear from the ground before going to follow after him.

"Melaina wait!" Steve shouted, prompting the goddess to turn around with a carefully cocked eyebrow. Watching as he picked up what she assumed to be a parachute and sling it over his shoulder.

"I'd sit this one out Cap." Natasha called out from the cockpit, her eyes meeting Melaina's warily.

But Steve ignored her caution, continuing to tie the bag around his body. "I don't see how I can."

"She's right, Steve. You are in over your head." Melaina agreed, not failing to notice how the redhead's eyes briefly widened in barely concealed surprise.

Natasha cleared her throat lightly before continuing, trying to erase the shock from her voice. "These guys come from legends. They're basically Gods."

"There's only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that." Steve countered, tightening his parachute with one last pull before he grabbed his shield and sprinted to the back of the plane. Running past a beyond angered Melaina.

"EXCUSE YOU!" She fumed, her face crimson with fury. "I'll roast you to a crisp, Narcissus!"

Mumbling obscenities beneath her breath, Melaina let another flickering portal grow by her side. This time not hesitating as she stepped through the onyx flame that illuminated a coniferous forest shrouded in darkness. Her body becoming one with the darkness, a single entity before appearing by Steve's side. Her irritate lips curled upwards in a snarl as she glared at the three men.

Steve's eyes flew open momentarily in confusion as he noticed that Melaina was now by his side, not looking at all pleased at him for his witty comment. But he quickly turned back to the two men before him, knowing that there were bigger issues at stake.

"Now, I don't know what you plan on doing here—"

"I've come here to put an end to Loki's schemes!" Thor interrupted, his muscular body glinting under the soft moonbeams. Making Melaina roll her eyes in annoyance because of course she was forced to deal with the ken doll look-alike with an ego even bigger than her own.

"And I've come to end yours." She boomed, her hands involuntarily becoming enveloped in a black flame of darkness.

"Oh, how my blood boils around you hellish Greeks." Thor snarled, pointing his hammer at her with unconcealed distaste.

"How does it feel to be the cheap knockoffs of such hellish Greeks?" She smirked. "I could only imagine the shame."

With a guttural cry, Thor twisted his hammer in his hand, a flicker of lightning automatically cascading in the dark sky. But Melaina wasn't fazed by his meager show of power, after all, he was just a cheap knock off of Zeus.

"Put the hammer down!" Steve ordered, adjusting his stance so that his body was in between the two furious Gods.

"Yeah, no. Bad call! He loves his hammer." Tony spoke impishly. An action that was rewarded with Thor backhanding Tony with his hammer and sending him hurtling through the air.

"Right, well have fun with the lightning baby." Melaina piped up quickly, twisting her hand so that another portal grew by her side. "I'm going to get his greasy cretin brother."

"What?"

"Well, you said I wasn't strong enough to take him on my own, did you not? So I'll leave it to you two men to handle him while I retrieve the real reason that we are down here." She grinned at Steve, watching as a mixture of shock and anger crossed his adonis-worthy features.

"Mel—"

But Steve's objection was cut off by Melaina stepping through the portal and onto a rough rocky surface. The darkened clouds swirling around her lithe body and the wind whipping at her exposed features like minuscule knives carving at her skin. Her obsidian cape billowing as she turned to face the Asgardian who sat on the edge of the mountain top, glaring at her with pure malice in his eyes.

"I think it's about time you come with me." She grinned, watching as Loki pushed himself up to his feet with a sinister look on his face.

"Not you." He grumbled.

"Oh, my apologies. Should I send your brother back up here?" She retorted, slamming her spear into the ground tauntingly. "It seems to me that you two have quite the ceremonious relationship."

"How dare you—"

"No, how dare you speak to me that way." She cut him off, her eyes flickering murderously as she stepped towards him.

"You puny, little Greek are no match for me." Loki snarled, his animosity almost matching hers.

"Puny?" She repeated, letting her emerald eyes become overwhelmed with pure blackness. Darkness surrounding her figure like the claws of the devil, a murdered halo. "You think I am puny?"

She watched as Loki gulped, taking a step backwards as she advanced. Acrimony thriving in her veins and lubricating the words that came from her lips.

"I have fought real Gods stronger than you. Monsters that would make your pasty ass even paler in fear. You have no authority to call me puny."

"You Greeks are all the same, self-inflated sense of egos that are threatened by the Nordic Gods." Loki countered, a condescending smirk pulling at his thin lips. "But who could blame you?"

Grinning maniacally at his words, Melaina lifted up her wrist and watched as an ebony blade began to form over the Asgardian's throat. A weapon made from pure darkness that was sharper than any knife known to man, hovering over Loki's throat, mere inches away from cutting into his alabaster skin. Immediately prompting him to draw in a breath and try walk away from the blade, only to find he was standing at the very edge of the mountain top, with nowhere to escape.

"Oh darling, if anyone is threatened here, I wouldn't say it's me." Melaina chuckled, her fingers dancing as belts of darkness began to cover Loki's body, forcibly holding him into place. And with a final flick of her wrist, a mouth constraint appeared over his mouth and instantly silenced his yell of obscenities.

"Now be a good little brat and shut up."
