In all your years of working as an actress, you've never met a co-star that's angered you more than Timothee Chalamet. It wasn't that he was horrible. No. It was because he was perfect at everything and that angered you beyond belief. He was so smug about his talents.

Timothee was gifted and that was a fact known by many. Yet, you couldn't stand him. He was excellent and jealousy got the best of you. It wasn't just you who didn't like him. The feeling was mutual. Even though you worked together on set and played your parts well in front of the cameras, the moment the director yelled cut your moods went sour.

The two of you often tried avoiding one another. When you did interact off-screen, it was nothing but veiled insults and shallow comments.

It was undeniable that Timothee was attractive. Your mind wouldn't let you admit that, though. Never in a million years. No matter how many times you looked into his enchanting eyes that stared at you with resentment.

It was only worse because your hate was fueled by the fact that your heart picked up around him. It was undeniable that an ounce of you harboured feelings for him. Yet another thing that will stay a secret for as long as possible.

Your day started the same. Walking into the break room to get a cup of coffee, you spot a few of your co-stars. They're huddled in the corner and whispering to each other. You move to the coffee pot, still not being noticed by them.Β

"You slipped him truth serum?" One of your friends, Amy, says with a look of bewilderment.

"Oh, come on. Don't act like you wouldn't do it," Sasha defended herself, "No matter how much they fight there's no denying that there's something there." You turned around and leaned against the counter, bringing the hot liquid to your lips.

"What are you guys talking about?" You question them. The two veered to you with startled expressions. They started to mumbled and trip over their words but stopped when Timothee walked into the room. His eyes looked distant and he walked in a clouded daze. Your eyes rolled at the sight of him. He walked right beside you and started making coffee for himself while ignoring everyone in the room.

"Not going to say good morning, hm?" You poked fun at him. He stopped pouring and looked up at you.

"You look pretty today." The words fell from his lips fast and shocked you. He too looked stunned by what he said. Amy and Sasha started to giggle and savour their tea with knowing gazes.

"Can't come up with an insult? Have I already used up what little brain cells you have?" No matter how many times the two of you threw jabs at each other, you couldn't help but feel guilty. Instead of throwing a taunt your way, Timothee stumbled out of the room. You turned to your friends again and gave them a bewildered look. Shrugging it off, you left to the costume room to get ready for filming.

Today was a day you were resenting. You had to film a very intense scene with Timothee. Both of your characters get into a fight and admit their feelings for one another. A cliche and, albeit, heart-wrenching scene. Your character, Leilani, throws a pan at Timothee, or rather, Nick.Β

"Why can't you leave?" You shout, making tears roll down your face. Timothee moves to the side as the pan hits a wall. "You've done enough already!"

"Lei, please calm down. I didn't want to hurt you!" Timothee holds his hands out in front of him, trying to show he meant peace.Β

"But you did anyway!" This was when Leilani backs off and realizes how angry she's become. You stop the tears and back up against the counter. "Why me? Of all people?" Your voice was breathless. You always zoned out and became a true character when acting. It was one of the reasons why you were up and coming.Β

"You think I wanted you to go through this?" Timothee yelled, running his hands through his hair. The character Nick was a lot like Timothee. Attractive and because of that, irritating.Β

"Don't act like you don't love her!" You referenced Sasha's character, Jane, who had previously meddled with Leilani and Nick's friendship.Β

"The only woman I love is you!" Timothee shouts. You look in his eyes and couldn't help but feel something in you stir. It was almost as if he didn't just mean it as Nick. You shook that off and focused on the scene.Β

"Nick... You don't want me," Your voice was above a whisper, previous anger all gone. "You don't want this." The script felt like second nature to you.

"I do want this." Timothee approached and grabbed both of your hands, rubbing your knuckles with his thumbs. The scene was coming to a close and you couldn't avoid the upcoming kiss your characters had to share.Β

"Then what are you waiting for?" There was a split second of hesitation between you two, but Timothee leaned forward and the two of you kissed. As much as you'd hate to admit it, he was a perfect kisser. Your hands went up to his curls and his arms went down to your waist. The two of you seemed to get wrapped up in it but remember you were filming and pulled away.Β

"And cut!" The director shouted. The silence ceased and staff started bustling around the set and moving things and preparing for the next scene.Β

"Wow." The word came tumbling out of your mouth as you backed away. A flash of something shown through Timothee's eyes before his mouth opened. It looked like he was going to say something but his hand came up and covered his mouth. He turned and moved away from you, heading back to his trailer. It was then that you had enough. All-day he's been acting weird and distant. Not once has he sent a rude comment your way.

Deciding to find out what's up, you march down to the makeup room where Sasha and Amy are getting ready. You walk in and notice none of the artists are there yet and the three of you would be alone.Β

"What's up with Timothee?" They turn to you and exchange nervous glances.

"We have no idea." Amy answers.Β

"Okay, I love you two. You're great actresses, but my god, you're terrible liars." You stood in front of them with your hands on your waist. The two looked at each other again and sighed.Β

"We gave him truth serum." Sasha murmured.Β

"You what?" It didn't make any sense as to why they'd do that to Timothee.Β

"Okay, before you yell at us, listen." Amy started, "As much as you two pretend to hate each other, there's something special there-"

"We do hate each other." You interrupted her.

"Cut it, okay? You're not that great of a liar either. The reason Timothee has been avoiding you is because he's scared the truth will spill out." Sasha finishes off Amy's statement. You glance back and forth between them, trying to figure out what tricks they are playing.Β

"What truth?" They look at you like you're an idiot, jaws hanging open. It felt comical.

"Go to him and find out." That answer was vague and left you wondering. You pivoted around and marched out, making your way to Timothee's trailer. You were determined to get to the bottom of this. Stepping up to his door you banged on it a few times before Timothee opened it. Once he saw it was you, he tried to shut it but your foot was in the way. You managed to open the door and walk in as Timothee backed up.

"What the hell is going on?" You crossed your arms and taped the floor with your right foot. He looked at you before quickly moving his gaze to the floor.Β

"You need to go." He states plainly.Β

"Oh hell no, bud. I want to know exactly why you've been avoiding me. Why you haven't sent one snide remark my way? Am I not making wise enough insults that you got bored? Am I doing something wrong here?" Your rant was cut short by Timothee's mumbles.Β

"You could never do anything wrong." His arm went to the back of his neck and rubbed it nervously.Β

"The hell?" You couldn't describe the perplexity that you felt at that moment.Β Β

"Oh, for the love of-" Timothee let out a loud breath. "I've been avoiding you because some idiot slipped something into my breakfast and now I can't stop telling the truth."Β

"Why? You afraid you'll run out of insults?" You taunt him.

"Quite the opposite, actually." Timothee walks towards you and the two of you stand inches away from each other. Your breath hitched with nervousness.Β

"I'm so confused right now." You scan his face to find any faint hint that he could be joking but come up empty.Β

"Maybe this will help." Timothee leans down and connects your lips. This time it wasn't scripted, but it came naturally. You couldn't control yourself and leaned in further, your hands resting on his chest. His hands cupped your face, pulling you in closer. It felt better than the last one, truer. Which was exactly that. The two of you pull away and stop.Β

"Okay," You speak up, "What the hell was that?"Β

"The truth." Timothee responds, "The only reason why I insult you is because I can't stand the fact that you're better than me."Β

"That's why I've been mean to you. I mean seriously, your work is amazing." Even though you weren't given that truth serum, the authenticity of your words showed.Β

"You think so?" He questioned.Β

"I'm sorry but have we seen the same Call Me By Your Name?" The two of you laugh at your terrible attempt at a joke. You were bad at making jokes but good at coming up with mean quick-witted comments. Timothee pulls you into a hug and you stay there for a while, trying to grasp the events of the past few hours.Β

"I'm guessing I should apologize for being so mean." You speak up.Β

"I guess I should too." The two of you stay in Timothee's trailer for the next few hours and talk about anything under the sun. You were happy that things were starting to heal between the two of you and couldn't wait for what the future had in mind.Β
