Ivy sat on the ground in front of her father, eating a piece of meat. She didn't know what animal it was from but she did know that it had no flavor. She didn't care though. Sounds of Andrea scraping her knife along a rock rang through her head along with the sound of chewing coming from all of the people around her. She looked over at her mother and father, then to her brother, then to Glenn. He looked anxious, his leg was bouncing up and down and she could see it in the way he acted. Something was wrong. She brushed it off and looked past him at the wooden porch.
Maggie was standing there with her arms crossed, and Liam was leaning on the porch railing. He was looking directly at Ivy. When she turned her head to make eye contact with him, he glanced away causing her to look away as well.
Glenn stood up finally and walked cautiously by Dale, standing nervously. Ivy made eye contact with him raised her eyebrow. "Dude, what's wrong with you?" She asked with a partial laugh, trying to be funny.
"Um, guys." He said nervously as he rubbed his chin. She wanted to know what had him so on edge. Shane kept chewing as he focused on Glenn, Daryl settled comfortably into his lawn chair and Ivy leaned back against the log.
"The barn is full of walkers."
Ivy stood up and turned to her mother. She looked around at everyone's faces with a worried expression on her face. She thought about the night at the survivors camp, when the walkers invaded the camp and killed all the people that they did. Amy, Jim, and many more. The fact that someone could keep so many in a barn was insane to her. None of this was okay.
๊ฅ๊ฅ๊ฅ
Ivy placed her ear to the wood of the barn and listened to the pained moans from the walkers. "You cannot tell me you're all right with this." Shane stated.
There were so many.
"No, I'm not. But we're guests here. This isn't our land." Rick argued.
"Just because were guests doesn't mean we have to leave these people to die because they're uneducated. What the hell has to go on inside of your head to do this. No hate to Santa Clause and all of his little elves but this isn't right." Ivy yelled.
She seen Glenn cover his mouth to keep a laugh back, but he was the only one who thought the joke was funny.
"This is our lives man!" Shane yelled.
"Lower your voices." Glenn demanded. Rage flooded through Ivy's veins and confusion along with it.
"We can't just sweep this under the rug." Andrea insisted.
"It ain't right. Not remotely."
"For once in my life I agree with Shane and Andrea. That should say enough." Ivy mumbled under her breath.
"What was that?" Shane asked.
"You heard good and well what I said." Ivy said with a roll of her eyes. "Don't play dumb."
"You sit here and make everything personal when it shouldn't be, Ivy. See that right there's your problem." Shane pointed in Ivy's face.
"Shane!" Rick yelled at the man. Ivy never stepped back. She knew he wasn't going to hit her or harm her in any way, not yet at least. She stood there with a straight face as Shane got closer to her.
"Wanna tell everyone around here why it's so personal...or do you want to stop acting like the boss, pull your big boy pants up, and stop acting like a little bitch?" She asked. Shane looked at her with an angry expression on her his face before putting his hand down. "That's exactly what I thought." She said as she bumped his shoulder walking past him.
"Okay, we've either got to go in there, we've got to make things right or we've just got to go." Shane negotiated. Ivy nodded her head in front of her father. They could get out of this barn any minute and she knew that. "Now we have been talking about Fort Benning for a long time."
Ivy rolled her eyes at the mention of the army base. "Fort Benning isn't going to help anyone! There is no sanctuary, Shane!"
"Damn it, Ivy!" Shane growled.
"We can't go." Rick announced.
"I say we just kill them." Ivy mumbled to Glenn, to which he nodded his head.
"Why, Rick? Why?" Shane was growing angrier by the second and it was written all over his face.
"Because my daughter is still out there." Carol answered. Ivy's face dropped as she thought about Sophia. She knew it was small but if there was the slightest possibility that Sophia was alive, they had to go with that.
"Okay. Okay, I think it's time that we all start to just consider the other possibility." Shane was cut off by Rick before Ivy could open her mouth to speak. She didn't even know why she bothered, no one listened to her anyways.
"We're not leaving Sophia behind." Rick stated.
"I'm close to finding this girl. I just found her damn doll two days ago." Daryl yelled. Ivy stood beside her father and looked between him and Shane.
"You found her doll, Daryl. That's what you did. You found a doll." Shane sighed. In some sense she agreed but she couldn't give up hope.
"You don't know what the hell you're talking about." Daryl snapped and threw his arm in the air dramatically.
"I'm just saying what needs to be said."
This one sentence brought rage to Ivy's very core. "How sick of a person are you? Because you just keep showing more and more of yourself each day, buddy." Ivy sighed, disappointed.
"Ivy, I'm tired of you butting in when this is none of your damn business! I'm bout this close..." He trailed off and Ivy's jaw dropped. She took a step forward and screamed.
"Bout this close to what, Shane...this close to what." She looked him dead in the eyes as the two stood chest to chest. She heard shouting and she felt arms grip hers tightly. She turned around to see Lori with her hands covering her mouth, her father walking up to the two, and Glenn holding her arms back. She jerked her arm away and looked at Glenn.
"Enough!" Rick yelled at both of them.
"Don't touch me!" She screamed as she faced Shane once more. There was nothing in his eyes. For a moment everything was just gone and it sent chills down her spine. "What are you gonna do, Shane?" He let out a sigh and was left speechless, which Ivy felt accomplished for. Ivy took one more step. She knew that Shane could beat her to the ground, she knew that she didn't really know how to fight, but she didn't care.
"Ivy!" She heard her father's voice boom from her left. "Take a walk!" Ivy snapped her head and looked in his eyes. She stepped back and walked away from Shane, standing beside her mother. "Stand right there and wait, we're gonna have a talk."
"Now just let me talk to Hershel. Let me figure it out." Rick said calmly. Shane was full of rage and Ivy could tell. He was screaming, he was pacing, and frankly it was satisfying to watch.
"What are you gonna figure out?!" He screamed which caused Ivy to flinch a bit.
"If we're gonna stay, if we're gonna clear this barn, I have to talk him into it. This is his land." Rick stated. And Ivy agreed. Morally, they were staying here from the kindness of Hershel's heart. She didn't know why he kept walkers in the barn, but she did, in a sens want to stay respectful. They needed somewhere to stay and Shane was starting to make it difficult. She hated the idea of sleeping next to walkers but she hated the idea of being out there even more.
"Hershel sees those things in there as people...Sick people... His wife, his stepson." Dale interjected. Ivy's eyes softened and she unclenched her jaw as he said this. Sorrow filled her chest and she thought about her mom, her dad, Carl, and for some reason, Liam came to her mind. She didn't know why he came to mind at all but she wanted him out of it.
"You knew?" Andrea asked. Honestly Ivy didn't care who knew and who didn't know, she just wanted the problem to go away
"Yesterday I talked to Hershel."
"And you waited the night?" Shane grunted. Ivy rolled her eyes and turned around.
"Oh my god!" She groaned and carried out her words. "Why are you still talking. Leave, Go do something else other than sit here and speak over and over again. You are making my head spin in ways that I didn't even know someone's head can spin."
Liam had walked out now and was standing by Lori with Oliver by his side. He was staring at Ivy and she could see it out of the corner of her eye.
Liam watched Ivy, scream at Shane with a small grin planted on his face. She was beautiful, in every situation she was in, and he couldn't take his eyes away from her. He looked down at his younger brother and whispered. "I'll marry her."ย
Oliver whispered back, "Not if I get her first."
"You are fourteen."
Shane stepped forward and started yelling. "Ivy get the hell out of my face, I'm the one who got you here, I'm the reason you're even still alive!" He yelled with a thick accent.
"After you lied and said that my dad was dead! Oh, yeah, because you wanna be him so bad." She stepped closer and whispered. "In every aspect, even with my mom right?" Shane stepped forward and Ivy knew he wasn't gonna hit her but he was so close to her face that she could feel the spit launch at her face when he screamed.
"Do not speak to me that way!"
"Yeah, yeah."
"You're getting too cocky." He yelled once more. Spit was flying and her ears were ringing from the pounding voice She felt his hands grip her shoulders in an attempt to gently push her away from him, but that's not what she thought at first. She felt awful for thinking it but she remembered the way he gripped her mother's shoulders and fear ran through her chest. Almost instinctively, she brought her hands up and punched him in the cheek.
"Don't fucking touch me!" She screamed. She could hear the way she sounded, she sounded crazy, if anyone else was talking like this in front of her, she'd probably think the same thing too.
Immediately, she felt something collide with her mouth. Her vision went blurry and she could feel her nose start to run. Her brain hurt and she finally realized Shane punched her.
"I'm sorry I-" and Ivy knew he was, he didn't mean to, she knew but she couldn't think straight. She watched her father push Shane back and Lori, Liam, and Glenn all ran to her side.
"Ivy? Are you okay?" Lori asked as she grabbed Ivy's face and examined it. She licked her bottom lip and tasted the blood. It tasted the same as rusty metal would.
"I got her, let me go clean her up?" Liam asked Lori. She hesitated for a moment before Lori finally shook her head. She made eye contact with her dad. She was expecting to see a look of anger or disappointment on his face, but instead she saw nothing. Just a straight faced expression.
"Come on princess, let's get you up." Liam said. He slid his arm around her waist and Ivy placed her hand on his shoulder, pushing herself up. Quickly she pulled herself away from him. She was growing dizzy and walking crooked. Liam placed his hand on her waist and whispered in her ear. "Let me help you."
"I got it! I know how to walk." She yelled.
"That's lovely. You got this then." Liam pulled his hand away and Ivy started to lean over, she couldn't find a balance and her head was dizzy.
Ivy placed her hands on a tree to keep herself up when she felt hands wrap around her lower thighs and her back. She gasped as Liam lifted her in the air. They were far enough away that no one could see, which Ivy was happy about, she didn't want to look weak. "Put me down!" She demanded, and she squirmed a bit before she realized how tired she was.
๊ฅ๊ฅ๊ฅ
"Ivy." Liam whispered. "Stop, you're okay, it's okay to ask for help, or let people help you." He continued carrying her in his arms all the way to the porch and up the stairs to his room, where he laid her on his bed. She looked over into the mirror.
Her lip was swollen and had a purple color to it, the side and half of her lip was completely busted and she was bleeding a lot.
"You have balls!" Liam stopped and threw his arms in the air. "That was the coolest thing I've ever seen in my entire life, like that was...wha-"
"That wasn't cool." Ivy mumbled.
Liam stopped talking and turned back around. He grabbed a handful of gauze, rubbing alcohol, and q-tips and sat down on his bed, right in front of Ivy.
"Sorry but it was cool. You literally punched him in the face-"
"Liam." Liam put his head down once more and started soaking the cotton ball in rubbing alcohol. Ivy turned her head, trying to hold back tears. She looked at the wall, with the four hand prints and all that did was make it worse.
"Okay so, this might burn..well actually it is gonna burn. Well now you're probably...oh my god." He held the cotton ball up and waited for Ivy to turn her head but she never did.
"V...you okay?" He asked as he gently turned her head towards him with his thumb. Ivy nodded and she felt a single tear fall. "Hey, Ivy, you're okay." He assured as he brought the cotton ball to her lips. He rubbed the blood and cleaned her mouth as she sat in silence. She was embarrassed that she was crying, that she couldn't even walk here by herself.
"You know, this makes you look pretty badass." Ivy let out a small laugh and Liam placed his hand on the side of her face. The two held eye contact and Ivy's breathing was growing heavier. "There it is." He said as he gently rubbed the side of her face with his thumb, talking about her finally smiling.ย He wiped away her tear and continued cleaning her lip. She watched his eyes, they were focusing hard on her lips and there was a pit growing in her stomach, She didn't know what she was feeling.
Her chest was rising and falling, she was nervous, she couldn't breathe easily and she was growing impatient. She didn't even know how she could be impatient when there was nothing to wait for.
It was him. Liam had one hand rested on her thigh as he pulled himself closer to her and the other was working with a q-tip now. The cotton brushed against her lips and so did his breath. She could feel it on her jaw as he maneuvered to the the side. She closed her eyes and swallowed as she shifted her position.
"Don't move." He whispered as he put the bloody q-tip down. He pulled back only an inch and looked into Ivy's eyes. He brought his hand up and his fingertips brushed against Ivy's skin, sending chills down her spine. He gently wiped away the tear on her cheek and smiled at her. The two sat in silence, just admiring each other, but it wasn't awkward.
It wasn't weird.
Liam leaned forward and placed his hand on the side of her face and Ivy leaned in to his hand, barely but she did. Once again, she could feel his breath, he was feeling the same way. She seen his chest fall and rise quickly, they were nervous. Ivy leaned forward and their noses were touching, he spoke against her lips which were centimeters away, he wanted to kiss her but wouldn't let himself. Their lips were only a centimeter away from the others.
Ivy breathed out a sigh and whimpered. She didn't mean to but the lack of touch was growing, she wanted to just...
Liam placed his left hand on her thigh and pushed himself up, Ivy looked up at him in confusion.
"Trust me, I want to more than you want me to, Ivy." He whispered. "I want too, but I'm not gonna do this, not now, not with the state that you're in. You just got out of a situation that was terrible." Ivy didn't say anything, she just looked down. "I promise I'm not rejecting you Ivy, trust me anyone that would-.." He was starting to get nervous again which was ironic to her, after he just pulled that. "One day, not today."
"Are you saying that you'd wait for me?" She asked with a smile. She was expecting some smartass answer and a laugh but that's not what she got.
"Yes." He said instantly.
"Alright buddy." Ivy smiled.
"I'm being serious. Let's just do it now, get it over with. Just marry me." Liam said with a joking smile on his face.
"Liam. No." She said as she threw a pillow at him.
"One day." He said. And he wasn't asking, he wasn't really telling her either, more like he was letting her know, like he already knew.
"Ivy." She sat up quickly at the sound of her father's voice.
He sped over to her and gently grabbed her face, examining the cut on her lips. "You have got to just stop, you're gonna get hurt Ivy and I can't.." He sighed and placed his hands on his hips. Ivy stayed quiet. "Come on."

"You're gonna wanna hold it with one hand here, and then the other hand here. But make sure to keep your thumb under this because when it kicks back, it'll hurt really bad." Ivy gripped the pistol and flipped off the safety. "Alright, now where you're gonna look is in between the sight, and shoot." Ivy looked at the tree branch in the middle of the sight and pulled the trigger.
"How did I miss?" She asked with a yell. Rick smiled and put his head down.
"It takes a lot of practice. It took me months before I could learn how to aim." Ivy put her head down, she hated not being good at something. 'It actually requires some math if we're being realistic. This of it like that." Ivy picked up the gun and put her head into thinking about it. It was easy.
She kept gaslighting herself until she truly believed that it was easy, and as she pulled the trigger and the gun jerked her arms back, she let out a scream as the bullet went exactly where she wanted it. "You see that?" She grinned as she handed the gun to her dad.
"Beginner's luck." Rick smiled.
"I'm gonna be a better aim than you and you know it." Ivy poked Rick in the chest and jumped up.
"I'm gonna go out, with Hershel so just please don't do anything to get yourself punched in the face." Rick chuckled and Ivy nodded her head before leaning in and wrapping her arms around him. She felt his hands around her and in his arms, she felt safe.

Ivy sat on the couch, staring at all of the pictures on the wall when Maggie, Oliver, Liam, Glenn, Lori, Andrea, Carl, and Daryl all walked in the house and sat down. Liam sat right next to Ivy, Oliver sat on the floor by the TV with his legs crossed. Maggie and Glenn and Daryl sat on the other couch, and Lori and Andrea stood by the wall. Carl went into the kitchen, which Ivy assumed was for food.
"I'm exhausted." Andrea sighed.
"I second that." Lori agreed. Everyone talked, about nothing really. Ivy wasn't paying attention, all she heard were mumbles and a laugh here and there. She stared at the wall, half exhausted and half bored.
"Scoot over and let me sit on the couch." Oliver demanded. Liam quickly moved as Oliver jumped and he bumped into Ivy. The two were pressed against each other and Oliver sat on the other side of Liam, kicking his feet, his hands were in his lap and he had a small smile planted across his face, like he was that happiest kid in the world. She looked down at her legs felt Liam's hand graze hers. Her heart stopped for a second and she took a deep breath. He wrapped his pinky finger around hers and the two sat there like that, with their hands hid in between both of their legs so no one could see, but she felt comfortable touching him.
๊ฅ๊ฅ๊ฅ
Everyone was standing outside now, Ivy was helping Carl with a math problem. "If Stella has 20 apples, and Vee has double what Stella has. You need to find that answer, then divide it by ten to see how many apples Matteo has."
"So Stella has 20, Vee has 40, and Levi has 4?"
"There you go, you're getting better!" Ivy fist bumped Carl and Liam walked over.
"I hated math." Liam sighed.
"I do hate math. Ivy was always good at it though." Carl flaunted. Ivy rolled her eyes and smiled, feeling flattered. She took pride in the fact that she was really smart.
"Ivy's good at everything...she's awesome." He said as he nudged Carl's arm.
"She's alright." Carl said with a mocking tone and a small laugh. He looked up at Liam with an irate look and the back to Ivy before standing up and walking away. Liam and Ivy exchanged a look and liam's pride seemed a bit wounded.
"We got us a damn trail!" Daryl yelled. Ivy snapped her head over at Daryl, then to where he was looking.
Shane.
He was carrying guns and Ivy's eyes widened. Fear pumped through her chest for some reason and she stood up quickly, she moved over until she was standing in front of Carl. She felt Liam at her side and Oliver moved by Carl.
"What's all this?" Daryl asked as Ivy looked at both of the men, confused. Lori was standing beside Ivy with her arms crossed.
"You with me man?" Shane asked.
"With you on what?" Ivy asked, fear evident in her voice. She was confused and she didn't like the look on Shane's face.
"Time to grow up." Shane demanded "You already got yours?" He asked Andrea, Ivy found out that he was talking about her gun.
"Yeah, where's Dale?"
"Shane stop!" Ivy yelled as he kept walking, he was growing restless and impatient. He seemed jittery, like he was losing his mind.
"He's on his way."
"Thought we couldn't carry?" T-Dog asked.
"We can and we have to."
"No we don't. Shane drop it!" Ivy demanded. Shane turned towards her and took a large step towards her, causing Ivy flinched a bit. She shocked herself at this.
She flinched, she was genuinely scared of him. Liam took notice of this and immediately stepped in front of Ivy. He never said anything, but it was instinct, the way he stepped in front of her to protect her. "Look it was one thing sitting around here pocking daisies when we thought this place was supposed to be safe but now we know it ain't."
"It is safe." Ivy spoke. She pushed Lima gently back and made sure to stand up straight in an attempt to make herself look taller. "Just leave it alone."
He walked over to Glenn and handed him a gun. "What about you man? You gonna protect yours?" Ivy looked at Glenn in hopes he would say no, that he would push the gun away, but instead he grabbed it.
"That's it, can you shoot?" He asked Maggie.
"Cam you stop? You do this, you hand out these guns, my dad will make you leave tonight."
"We have to stay Shane." Carl demanded. She looked down at the kid and shook her head.
"Dude, if you're gonna stick up for something, do it loud." She sighed as she looked back at Shane.
"What the hell is this" Lori asked. Chaos was coming and Ivy's head was spinning.
"We need to fins Sophia alright?" Shane kneeled down in front of Carl and pulled out a gun. Ivy watched in horror. "You take it Carl, and you keep your mother safe. You do whatever it takes you know how. Go on take it." Ivy snatched the gun from his hand and pushed Shane over.
"Get the fuck away from him, you're sick!" She yelled as Shane toppled over to the ground. He stood up.
"Rick said no guns." Lori growled as Ivy stood over Shane. "This is not your call, this is not your decision to make."
"Oh shit." T-Dog spoke. Ivy snapped her head around to look at the woods where she seen her father and Hershel walking out if the woods, pushing walkers in front of them. Ivy knew where Shane was coming from, but she didn't want to leave. They needed the farm to live. If it came down to it and the walkers escaped she would obviously help take them down, but for now there was no need.
"What the...?" Ivy mumbled to herself. She pumped her legs and began running towards them. She didn't know if everyone was following her or just some people but she didn't bother looking back. Ivy stood out by the fence and Shane walked in, circling the two men and the walkers.
"What the hell are you doing?" Shane screamed. Ivy watched in terror as her father held the walker. She was so lost.
"Shane just back off." Rick said tiredly.
"Why do your people have guns." Hershel yapped. Ivy rolled her eyes and looked at Liam. "Because it's an apocalypse?" Liam let out a sigh and grinned.
"Are you kidding me? Do you see? Do you see what they're holding on to?" Shane screamed as he continued circling around them.
"Shane stop!" Ivy screamed, which she was ignored again.
"I see who I'm holding on too."
"Nah man you don't."
"Shane let us do this then we can talk?" Rick assured calmly.
"What you want to talk about Rick?" Ivy's head was spinning and the growling, screaming, and groans were causing it to hurt. "These things are sick, they're not people. They're dead, ain't gotta feel nothing for them because they kill people. Cause all they do, they kill. These things right here."
Ivy looked around at everyone, no one was doing anything. She wanted so badly to hit Shane in the head with a shovel but she knew if she did, it would cause more problems for her.
"Shane stop, we have to stay!" Ivy yelled.
"Ivy you wanna wake up and have your face torn off by one of these things?" He asked. "They're the things that killed Amy." Ivy looked at Andrea, a look of realization crossed over her face. "They killed Otis, they're gonna kill all of us."
People were screaming but Ivy couldn't focus, everything was a blur. Screaming and more screaming until in place of screaming was a gunshot. Ivy flinched and looked up, she took a step back and felt Liam's hand grab her waist. She reached for Car and held on to his shoulder when she realized that she still had the gun in her hand. She looked down at it and listened as the shots went off two more times.
"That's three rounds in the chest." Shane hollered. He was losing his mind, it was obvious. "Could someone who's alive just take that? Why is it still coming?"
Ivy watched the walker squirm in horror, more aggressive than ever. Shane shot the gun more times, Ivy couldn't count, she could barely breathe. "Enough, risking our lives for a little girl that's gone." Carol took a step back and Ivy tried to walk forward but Liam wouldn't allow it. "Enough living next to a barn of things trying to kill us. Enough Rick, it ain't like it was before."
"Now if y'all wanna live, if y'all wanna survive, y'all gotta fight for it. I'm talking fight for it, right here, right now?" Shane turned around and sprinted towards the barn and Ivy knew exactly what was about to happen. She heard the chains rattling and she lunged forward but once again, hands pulled her back.
"Ivy look at me." Liam used his hands to turn her around and the two were facing each other. "You can't go after him, you can;'t do this okay."
Ivy turned back around and watched as the walkers started trailing out of the barn. "Shane do not do this brother. Wait." Rick screamed.
"Shane! Don't do this." Ivy pleaded. Ivy ran over to her mother and helped her barricade Carl. She looked to her right and seen Liam blocking Oliver. Gunshots were ringing and bodies were dropping. Everyone had run up to start shooting now and Ivy gripped the gun in her hand. She thought about Carl and she ran up to the line. She wanted the walkers dead but never wanted to do it like this, though as they all came trudging their way out of the barn, what choice did she have.
Looking in between the sight, she fired the pistol, shooting one of them in the head. She watched as it's head jerked back and its body fall to the ground and it felt like everything was in slow motion. She didn't know how many bullets she fired, she didn't know how many she had killed, but when the gunshots stopped, and the noise flooded through her head again, she looked at the piles of bodies. It was silent...until it wasn't.
Growling came from within the barn, but it wasn't loud, it was gently, it was small. Everyone's heads turned to see what the sound was coming from but all Ivy could see was black. Ivy looked at the shoes that walked out, they were gray but they used to be light pink. They were shoes that Ivy recognized, they were the shoes of the little girl that Ivy had put on her shoulders, the shoes of the little girl that Ivy had ran around and played hide and seek with at the survivors camp, of the little girl that she let sit on her lap on the drive to the C.D.C. The shoes of the little girl that she had run into the woods to find. She stopped breathing as Sophia walked out of the barn, but she wasn't Sophia, instead she was a walking corpse. She heard Carl yell out her daughter's name and watched as Daryl grabbed her. Carl cried and Lori held him, but everyone just watched.
She looked at Sophia's shoulder, where the skin was pried up from a bite, the girl's eyes were white, her skin was pale and you couldn't see her freckles. Her golden hair was now covered in blood and dirt and matted up. Ivy heard a cry and realized that it came from her. She looked at Liam and curled her lip, she knew that he didn't know about the barn but she still was so angry at him, at Maggie, at Hershel, at everyone who was here, but overall, she realized she was just mad at Shane.
She heard Carol's cries, Sophia's growls were drowning it all out. She looked over at Shane who stood there, dumbfounded along with everyone else. The cry of a mother losing their child is something that Ivy never wanted to hear again as Carol whined. She never wanted to listen to the pain of a mother losing the child they carried, they took care of, it hurt her to her very core and it wasn't even her kid. Sophia stepped over the dead bodies of the walkers and Ivy took a small step forward.
Rick raised his gun, but it looked as if he couldn't do it, she knew that he could but it took him a second to pull the trigger. A gunshot went off and Ivy flinched, keeping her head down.
It grew silent and Ivy looked at Sophia's body, then at the people lined up, to Shane, to Andrea, and she spoke.
"See this." Ivy asked
"Ivy, jus-" Shane tried to cut her off but Ivy stepped forward and spoke.
"You're losing your mind man...there is something wrong with you and this was crazy. She didn't have to find out like this. She should not have had to find out like this. She shouldn't have watched her daughter get a bullet in her brain and fall to the ground!" She yelled. "You keep talking so much about Fort Benning, trying to be a leader and you can't even have a peice of sympathy in your heart. You're a cruel man and this was horrible.
She looked over to Andrea, "Same goes for you, you follow him like a puppy dog but when it comes down to it, you don't listen to a damn thing. It'd be so easy for me to defend you. No one gets mad that you want to protect us, we get mad that you can't decide if you want to be a badass or if you want to be his little girlfriend. "
She looked to Hershel and spoke, "I'm sorry for everything that just went down in front of you, I know that you thought that they were your family, but get that idea out of your head."
"I sat there too when she walked out the barn, I froze up too so I can't sit here and act like I'm the bravest person here, but I didn't see any of you run into those woods to find her, and you all blame my dad like he's the bad guy but Shane, look at what you caused. Get it together, or I will get it together for you." Shane tried to speak but Ivy looked him in the eyes.
"I dare you to cut me off."
She gently walked over to Carol who was laying on the ground in Daryl's arms and placed her own hand on the small of Carol's back. She felt the older woman's finger gently wrap around her arm as she stood up with her and embraced her in a hug. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." She listened to Carol cry into her shoulder as pain filled her chest. She stood in that position until Carol was comfortable enough to pull away.
