CHAPTER ONE:
NATASHA ROMANOFF

OLIVIA'S HEART RAMMED IN her chest, sweat dripped down her face, her breathing was heavy, but yet still held a sense of normalcy. Olivia didn't like normal, and she hated that she always had to work so hard to make herself not feel normal. So, she continued to push herself. She constantly went back and forth between punching the punching bag and exercising before deciding that it was time she would train one of the agents.

When she spotted Maria Hill, she smiled at the woman and walked up to her. When Maria saw the brunette, she offered her a small smile.

ย  ย ย  "Hey, Maria. Are you doing something important, or do you care to train with me?" Olivia asked.

ย  ย ย  "Would it matter if I was doing something important?" Maria retorted.

ย  ย ย  Olivia stood there, thinking for a second before she shook her head. "Nope." Maria rolled her eyes at the woman, motioning for her to lead the way and so she did. The two entered the training room and almost immediately they started to fight one another. Olivia ducked under a punch and moved out of the way of a kick before spinning and grabbing Maria's arm, throwing her onto the ground. Maria hopped up and kicked Olivia's feet out from underneath her. Olivia caught herself with a roll before she was up again and they were fighting.

Occasionally, Olivia was allowed to use her telekinesis on the woman, but she was trying to avoid using her powers and was trying to become better at hand-to-hand combat. Olivia had gained three abilities from her father; turning into an arctic wolf, telekinesis, and a protective shield that would cover her if needed. She had spent the first few years of becoming a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent by practicing with her abilities and gaining control of them. When she was sure she had control of all of them, she started to focus on hand-to-hand combat as well as focusing on using weapons.

It was during these years that Olivia discovered her liking for the same gender. Olivia was what was known as a bisexual. She liked both men and women, though secretly she preferred women way more. How she discovered this? Well, let's just say she and Maria had started to spend a lot of time with one another and over time she developed a crush on the brunette. And overtime, Olivia's crush for the woman slowly started to fade as they continued to grow their friendship until finally it was gone and Olivia saw Maria as nothing more than a best friend.

The two continued to dodge each others punches, and kicks, until finally Olivia had managed to pin Maria on the ground and announced herself as victorious.

ย  ย ย  "You've gotten a lot better." Maria noted as Olivia removed herself from on top of her. Olivia held out a hand and Maria grabbed it, allowing the brunette to pull her up.

ย  ย ย  "Well, I was eighteen when I started, M. I am twenty-two years old now, it's been five years." Olivia told her, grabbing her water bottle and talk a few sips of it, Maria did the same.

ย  ย ย  "Just past the drinking age yet I've never seen you touch alcohol." Maria mused.

ย  ย ย  "Well, me and alcohol don't have a very fun past." Olivia pointed out. Maria nodded before apologizing. Olivia waved her off, giving the girl a small smile. "Don't apologize, my mental wounds are slowly but surely starting to heal. Which you deserve a thank you for that, you and Clint both."

ย  ย ย  "You're welcome." Maria nodded, giving her a small smile.

ย  ย ย  "Once you two are done flirting, I'd liked to borrow my favorite wolf for a moment." The voice of Clint Barton entered the training room.

ย  ย ย  Olivia looked at Maria with an amused smirk before saying, "Speak of the devil and he will appear." Maria chuckled before Olivia looked at Clint with a smile still on her face. "What can I do for you my dear friend?" Olivia walked up to stand right beneath the male before she grabbed onto the railing and flipped herself up so that she was standing beside him.

ย  ย ย  "I want you to meet someone." Clint told her.

ย  ย ย  Olivia cocked an eyebrow. "I don't like meeting people that don't have names, Barton."

ย  ย ย  "You don't like meeting people in general." Clint said, rolling his eyes. The two started down the hall.

ย  ย ย  "How did your mission go?" Olivia hummed.

ย  ย ย  "It went." He answered, shrugging his shoulders.ย

ย  ย ย  "Ou, is this nameless person the outcome of said mission?" Olivia asked with a smile.

ย  ย ย  "Yeah." He nodded. His voice sounded hesitant and immediately Olivia's eyes narrowed at him.

ย  ย ย  "What aren't you telling me, Barton?"

ย  ย ย  "You trust me right?" Clint asked her.

ย  ย ย  "You're one of the only people that I do trust." Olivia nodded her head.

ย  ย ย  "Well, then trust me on this." He told her. Olivia furrowed her eyebrows before she sighed and nodded. Olivia pulled her hair out of it's ponytail, ruffling it slightly before placing the band on her wrist and then stopping when she noticed a woman walking with Nick Fury. She had long red hair, an assassin vibe ricocheting from her body. Clint watched as Olivia's eyes ran over the woman, deciding whether or not she should trust Clint on this one or not. The new redhead had no emotion on her face, no smile, no fear, nothing. It was like she was emotionless.

ย  ย ย  Fury and the woman stopped in front of the two agents before his eyes landed on Olivia. "Agent Jade, glad you could join us."

ย  ย ย  "Mhm." Olivia hummed, her eyes not removing themselves from the redhead.

ย  ย ย  "Jade, I have a job for you." Fury spoke, finally making Olivia look away from the woman and towards him. Olivia cocked an eyebrow at the man. "I want you to train Miss Romanoff, show her what it means to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent."

ย  ย ย  "So, basically be what Clint was to me?" Olivia asked.

ย  ย ย  "Exactly." He nodded.

ย  ย ย  "Nope." Olivia said, popping the 'p'.

ย  ย ย  "What do you mean no?" Fury asked.

ย  ย ย  "Would you like the definition? Expressing disagreement or contradiction." Olivia said, giving the man a sarcastic smile.

ย  ย ย  "Why no?" Fury asked, crossing his arms as he looked at the woman curiously.

ย  ย ย  "Because I have no idea who the hell she is, where the hell she came from, and I have trust issues. She's an assassin, that much I picked up on. She came back from Clint's mission. So either she's a bad guy and Clint's being nice and giving her another chance, or she's some random ass person Clint picked up of the side of the street who just so happened to help kill whatever it was he was after." Olivia retorted.

ย  ย ย  "Liv." Clint sighed.

ย  ย ย  "What?" She asked, turning her head to look at him. The two shared a silent conversation with one another before Olivia's eyes widened slightly. She opened her mouth, pointing towards the woman. "You-?" Clint nodded. "She-?" He nodded again. "What did she do that was so bad?"

ย  ย ย  "She's a Red Room assassin." He answered.

ย  ย ย  "Oh, damn." Olivia breathed. "Yeah, I'm definitely not training her now."

ย  ย ย  "You train her, or you lose your job, how about that?" Fury asked.

ย  ย ย  "I'm sure she's trained enough." Olivia snarled under her breath. Her eyes landed on the woman, glaring dangerously at her. "Well will someone at least tell me her name?"

ย  ย ย  "Natasha Romanoff." The woman quickly answered her, her green eyes never leaving Olivia's brown ones. Olivia narrowed her eyes at the woman, crossing her arms over her chest as she let out an annoyed huff.

ย  ย ย  "Fine." Olivia muttered, glancing at Nick who nodded before walking away. Olivia looked back at Natasha who's eyes had never left Olivia's face. "Tomorrow morning, 10 a.m. sharp, don't be late." With that, Olivia turned on her heel and walked away.

Here's the first official chapter for the revamped version of Not Now, Not Ever! The first part of this book is going to be right before the first Avengers movie takes place so that I can give Olivia and Natasha a bond that will then grow on from Avengers!
