CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR:
VISIONS AND GOODBYES
"MY DEAR, DEAR ALICE, we're so glad to see you here after all." Aro greeted her as she and Jasper walked towards him. Two of Aro's people stopped them as they approached.
"I have evidence the child won't be a risk to our kind." Alice told him. She stuck out her hand. "Let me show you."
Aro nods his head and Alice shoves past them. Jasper went to follow, but they restrained him causing his lips to curl into a snarl. Aro grabs hold of Alice's hand, and watches.
Realization flashed across Alice's mind as she ripped her hand from Aro's grasp. "It doesn't matter what I show you. Even when you see, you still won't change your decision." Alice then turns to Bella before whispering, "Now!" Quickly, Renesmee was placed on Jacob's back. Jacob looked at Bella who nodded her head.
"Take care of my daughter." With that, Jacob quickly sprinted away towards the woods.
"Get them!" Caius seethed. Two vampires quickly went after them, but knowing Jacob would be able to take care of them, no one chased him. Alice looked at Aro before spinning and then kicking backwards, hitting Aro's chin and sending him flying in the air. They all watched as he slid on the ground before he grabbed hold of himself.
"Take her away." Aro orders. The guards grab hold of Alice and she tries to pry herself from their grip, but to no avail.
"Let her go!" Carlisle yells before quickly running forward. Echo's eyes were trained on him, watching as he swiftly dodged the vampires that would try to attack him. He jumped into the air, Aro copying his actions before they landed again. Carlisle's body fell to the ground as Aro looked up, his eyes directly on Echo as he smiled, showing them all Carlisle's head. Echo's eyes widened as she placed a hand over her mouth. Esme grabbed hold of her, making sure the girl wouldn't fall to the ground. All of the vampires were in shock.
"No!" Echo cried as they lit his body aflame. Quickly her heartbreak became rage as a snarl fell from her lips and she charged forward. The vampires all copied her actions, and it started. Echo grabs hold of the nearest enemy, ripping their head clean of with one hand and a kick to the gut. She killed as many of them as she could, her rage taking over her. It only worsening when she watches as Alec tackles her sister to the ground.
Echo watched in horror as Jasper fell to his knees in pain, Felix coming up to him and ripping his head off. Alice let out a cry before flipping out of the hold she was in, killing both vampires. If Echo hadn't wanted to kill the blonde now, she definitely did. But right now, her anger was held at the leader. Echo jumped on top of a vampire, her legs wrapped tightly around their throat until she spun, tearing their head clean off.
Echo ignores the howl of one of the wolves, trying to ignore the fact that the youngest of the pack members had just gotten killed. Much to Echo's luck, she happened to be in Jane's path who was currently running from an angry Alice. Echo took the opportunity to quickly spin around and kick her hard in the chest, sending her straight into Alice who caught her and then dragged her across the snow where Sam was waiting with anticipation.
Echo continued forward until she ended up behind of her sister who was looking at Aro. Aro quickly throws Bella, sending her flying into Echo. The Swan girl caught her little sister, the two sharing a knowing look with one another before they gave a silent nod. Echo quickly took her sisters hand and leg before spinning her in the air and giving her the chance to quickly kick Aro. Just as Aro turned back around from the kick, Echo threw her sister causing her foot to land on Aro's shoulder, keeping him so that his back was facing Echo.
Bella sent a kick to his chest, giving Echo the chance to wrap her arms tightly around his neck. He quickly crossed Echo's arms, turning and then pushing his hand under her chin. Cracks started to form in her neck which caused Bella to quickly turn around. A snarl fell on Bella's lips before she jumped up, placing Aro's head into her own hands and pulling. Echo removed herself from his grasp, taking a step back before running and kicking him as hard as she could in the chest. His head fell from his body. Bella and Echo shared a satisfied smirk before taking a torch and lighting his body on fire.
"Now you know. That's your future, unless you decide on another course." Alice told him as she removed her hand from his grasp. Aro looked up, his gaze moving between the two Swan siblings.
"We cannot alter our course, the child still poses a grave threat." Caius growled at them.
"But if you were sure she could remain concealed from the human world? Could we leave in peace?" Edward asked him.
"Of course, but that cannot be known." Caius stated.
"Actually, it can."
At the sound of more footsteps, the vampires all turned towards two more witnesses walking out of the forest. They made their way towards The Volturi. They stopped when they were only a few feet away.
"I've been searching for witnesses of my own, among the Tekona tribes of Brazil." Alice explained.
"We have enough witnesses-" Caius started, stopping only when Aro held up a hand to silence him.
"Let him speak, brother."
"I am half human, half vampire, like the child. A vampire seduced my mother, who died giving birth to me. My aunt Huilen raised me as her own. I made her immortal." The male witness spoke.
"How old are you?" Bella asked, eager to know how long she was going to have Renesmee at a young age.
"A hundred and fifty years." He answered, looking over at Bella.
"At which age did you meet maturity?" Aro asked, grabbing the man's attention once more.
"I became full grown seven years after my birth. I've not changed since then." He answered. Bella shared the smallest of smiles with her child before looking back at the witness.
"And your diet?" Aro quizzed.
"Blood, human food. I can survive on either."
"These children are much like us." Marcus said.
"Regardless, the Cullens have been consorting with werewolves, our natural enemies." Caius tried. Echo cocked an eyebrow at the suggestion, daring him to continue.
"Dear ones, there is no danger here. We will not fight today." Aro said as he turned to face his army. Slowly but surely, they watched as the Volturi started to walk away before then speeding away. Aro stopped, glancing back. His eyes landed on Alice and Bella. "Such a prize." He mumbled before turning and leaving.
Esme let go of Echo's hand, exchanging a hug with the girl. Echo officially liked her. Carlisle walked over to Echo and smiled, Echo couldn't help but smile back as he brought her in for a kiss. Echo gladly kissed him back. She pulled away for a moment, turning her head and connecting eyes with Sam. She nodded her head at him before mouthing a 'thank you'. The wolf bowed his head before he started to walk away. Echo turned back to Carlisle before placing her head against his chest. It was finally over.
"We have them on the run, now is the time to attack!" Vladimir yelled.
Carlisle shook his head. "Not today."
"You're all fools! The Volturi might be gone, but they will never forgive what happened here." Stefan snapped. Finally, the two vampires left.
"Oh thank god they're gone!" Echo exclaimed. "They were getting really annoying." The vampires all chuckled at the girl, Carlisle just shaking his head as he gave her another kiss.

"I'm glad he finally found you." Echo turned her head at the sound of Esme's gentle voice. Everyone was saying their goodbyes.
"I guess I got pretty lucky, huh?" Echo asked with a small smile. Esme chuckled lightly as she nodded her head, smiling at the girl.
"That you did. It was nice to meet you, Echo. Hopefully we'll meet again sometime in the future." Esme's mate, Johnson, walked up to them. Echo offered him a small smile before nodding her head at Esme.
"I'd like nothing more."
The two said their goodbyes, leaving Echo to stand there by herself. Alice appeared beside of her. Echo sent her a soft smile whilst Alice sent her a wide and giddy one. Echo cocked an eyebrow.
"What's got you so giddy?" Echo asked.
"We have a wedding to plan." Alice told her. Echo sighed.
"Not gonna lie, completely forgot about that part." Echo told her.
"I know, Echo." Alice told her, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I do not trust you to plan my wedding." Echo told her.
"But it'll be fun!"
"You're gonna make me wear white!" Echo stated.
"Would you rather have a funeral than a wedding?"
"I look better in black." Echo smiled. Alice rolled her eyes.
"I have a feeling this is going to take a lot of work." Alice mumbled.
"Damn right it is." Echo said. The two girls shared a small smile before glancing over at Bella and her little family. Finally, Bella could be happy. No Volturi. No Victoria. Just her and her happy family. Finally, Echo's wishes came true. Her little sister was happy. And now, maybe it was time for Echo to be happy.
