Led by impulse, Jimin dives directly into the foggy river, something telling him he has done the stupidest thing in his life, the other side of him, his heart, pushing him further. If he dies or not, at least he knows he tried to find Jungkook, no matter where he would be.

Jimin's POV:

I sighed and struggled to open my eyes, feeling my eyelids as if they were frozen together. A sharp pain in my side was sending me faster to reality. I tried to stand up, to move, even to breathe. Everything was taking a huge effort. My lungs felt stuffed and frozen, my body stuck in place between the cold snow, the blizzard blowing hard over my head. I looked up and cried out in pain as a sharp spike ran through my stomach. I moved my hand there and looked down, noticing a frozen branch piercing through my side, buried deep inside.

"Oh shit... uhm..." I was both shocked, confused and scared, my hand trembling near the wound. Unsure of what to touch or what to do, I slowly gathered myself and focused on getting up. I sat up and curled my legs to the side, eyeing the wound and gripping the branch tightly. I took a deep breath and clenched my hand, pulling it with a little bit of force, immediately feeling the pain inside. I let go and shook my head, thinking I would not be able to bear the pain long enough to pull the branch out. Then... I thought about dying here, about Jungkook... I sighed and gripped the branch once again, gritting my teeth and biting my lips, pulling harder and harder. I could feel my vision getting blurry and I screamed in pain when forcing it out, throwing it away and pressing my hands on my wound.

The pain was unbearable, making me feel dizzy and exhausted, falling down on the snow once again, breathing heavily. However, I struggled not to close my eyes, taking a few more breaths before slowly sitting up, stumbling a few times before managing to keep my balance on my own feet.
"Gotta get out of here..." I whispered to myself and took a few steps forward, blocking the harsh wind with one of my forearms, the other arm tightly around my body, my hand pressed on the wound. My line of sight was critically reduced and I could feel my limps freezing, but I kept going, soon noticing a little light. It was a white light, like a flashlight. I felt a certain relief until I suddenly heard a bunch of male voices saying my and Jungkook's name.
"We gotta find them quickly..."
"But, why? The boss never explained."
"What do you mean why?! You dickhead." A slap was heard and a loud laugher.
I listened in after hiding behind a rock, gasping quietly when the snow fell and a crack underneath my feet was heard. Thankfully the ice was thick enough, so I stood still and payed attention.
"They called us to find the boys, but we know whyΒ  nobody was able to reach further... the storm is being rougher here, we cannot let them our here."
"And what if we find only one of them?"
"We take him and say the other was dead. Who cares anyway?"
I felt a lump in my throat. I cannot let them find me... Jungkook needs my help. "How can they say such a thing...?" I thought to myself.

"Huh? Did you hear that?"
I held my breath and stopped moving.
"It came from other there... Let's go check." They were heading my way. I had to think of something and quickly. On the ground, a bunch of stones were scattered near the cliff. I picked one up, ice cold in my hand. I threw it to the opposite ice wall, making a loud sound, enough to distract the men.
"What the hell-"
"Quick, it could be them!"
They rushed towards that direction and gave me the perfect chance to run from behind the rock, into the forest. Until then, I did not realize how tired my legs felt, almost that I could not lift them to run. Somehow I managed to hide behind a tree, peeking and going to another, each time checking to not get spotted by the patrol.

I whimpered and sniffed, shuddering from the cold and feeling my hand shaking hardly on top of the wound, making it hurt even more. The blood was slipping past my fingers. "Think, think... need something..." I looked around and then down to my pants. The idea hit me and I quietly sat down, taking a sharper rock, cutting two pretty long piece of the fabric, ripping it off and wrapping it around my hands. The fabric felt warmer against the wound, stopping the bleeding more efficiently. I sat up and looked down at the footprints which were clearly pointing towards the patrol.
"Maybe if I follow them backwards..."
I took a few steps forward and saw another patrol coming.
"Shit-"
As quick as possible, I went around the tree and hid from the flashlight, holding my breath and crawling closer to the next tree, getting deeper into the forest. It was getting less windy, yet freezing cold, the snow glowing, untouched. The small, broken bushes were the only vegetation around, nowhere else to hide or run. I followed the path inside the forest, my eyes getting heavier by the time I reached a tiny opening into a rock. I crawled inside and leaned my back against the wall. Brought my knees to my chest, hugged them and sighed, letting my eyes close at their own will.

The image of him came in my mind at the instant, I whispered a second before falling asleep. "Couldn't save you... I'm so sorry..."

Meanwhile...
Jungkook's POV:

"One... two... there's five..." I said while looking at the matches in my box. "Five... Tsk... come on, work already." I tried to light it again, finally managing to get a sparkle, throwing it into the dry branches. I blowed into it and saw it spreading, lighting up all the wood. "Finally... Thank God. Okay... Now what..." I put the box with only three remaining matches, rubbing my hands above it and then my arms, warming myself up a little bit before taking my backpack and checking inside. I took a paper out and the map, drawing out the location I was into, trying to locate it on the map. From my unsure calculations, I was way further than the city than I thought. "Fuck, man..." I sighed and facepalmed my forehead, scribbling on the paper. The breakdown took a few moments, until I lifted my head and thought.

"Fine. Gotta get back and survive. Survive.... I need a weapon." I started searching for my switchblade, finding it in my pocket and then thinking about something ranged. "A bow? Hmmm.." I pulled a branch from a nearby tree, checking it sturdiness, trying a shoelace from top to bottom as string. "Now... arrows." With a few more branches and the switchblade, I managed to sculpt some arrows, putting them in the side pocket of my backpack, keeping the bow beside.

After setting everything up, I leaned on the wall of the cave, rummaging through the backpack out of boredom, the night falling pretty quickly. Right as I decided to sleep, I came across a little pouch, which I recognized immediately. I opened it after hesitating, taking out the things inside. A ring.... some coins and a picture. It was Jimin and I, inside the living room of his house. I held it tightly and put the ring on, realizing that my focus on survival was now sliding towards regret and guilt. I was starting to miss him. "What the hell was I thinking...? I'm so sorry..."

"I'm so sorry..."
