netflix's outer banks highly anticipated second season is coming this summer, and a few newcomers are joining the already ridiculously good-looking cast! filming for the season commenced this past weekend, after multiple delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

in addition to the og pogues, season two will star a lost alumn, two fearless characters that might stir up trouble, and possibly an actor diehard one tree hill fans will recognize.

returning members:

chase stokes, john b. routledge.
         don't worry ladies and gents, stokes is obviously reprising his role as almost-always-shirtless john b. we last saw him get rescued by a cargo ship, conveniently heading to the bahamas, where the $400 million of gold is (hopefully).

madelyn cline, sarah cameron
         your favorite kook-turned-pogue is returning as the beautiful island daydream, sarah cameron. we're already looking forward to her impeccable wardrobe and adventurous spirit.

jonathan daviss, pope heyward
         expect to see daviss turn a new leaf as the genius of the gang starts coming out of his shy shell. high stakes call for focused action, and we cannot wait to see pope sort things out.

madison bailey, kiara carrera
         bailey will lace up her vans sneakers and toss on her beaded necklaces and go a bit too reckless this season. we wonder what's going to happen after the repercussions of that kiss with pope.

rudy pankow, jj maybank
         our favorite blonde boy, jj maybank, will once again be portrayed by pankow. many fans of the show are split between who they want to end up with him, romantically. personally, i'm rooting for #jjpope or #jope.

drew starkey, rafe cameron
          the banished kook prince, aka sarah's older brother, is once again being portrayed by starkey. rumors are swarming online that the twenty-eight year old is receiving a new look, a crazier attitude. . . along with a love interest? in our opinion, rafe doesn't need a love interest, he needs therapy— but we love drama, so we cannot wait.

austin north, topper thornton
            north will once again display an array of collared shirts and khaki shorts to portray topper, sarah's ex-boyfriend. toward the end of season one, we saw top somewhat redeem himself by helping sarah and john b. escape the police, and we hope he continues on that trajectory and leaves rafe in the dust.

charles esten, ward cameron
            you better believe we'll see esten reprise his role as the frankly terrifying ward cameron. in the final moments of season one, ward is outed as the murderer of john b's dad, but we're pretty doubtful he'll get the punishment he deserves.

new members:

carlacia grant, cleo
          grant will take on the brand-new reoccurring role of cleo, whom deadline describes as a "confident and fearless nassau-native whose world collides with the pogues." the twenty-one-year-old is from florida, and has starred in roots, greenleaf, and game of silence. supposedly, she is good friends with one of the show's writers, derrielle johnson, who celebrated her one-year dating anniversary with grant's co-star, drew starkey, earlier in july.

jontavious johnson, stubbs
          johnson, not related to starkey's girlfriend, is a fresh face on the scene. he is set to appear as stubbs, another bahamas resident alongside grant's character. he previously appeared in a short titled ungubami (who are you?)  and is set to star in a forthcoming drama called national champions.

elizabeth mitchell, carla limbrey
         another new cast member, mitchell will star as limbrey, a charleston elite who may come off as sweet and polite but is actually quite menacing. many lost fans should recognize her for her emmy-nominated performance as dr. juliet carson.

alexandra carson, lola limbrey
         speaking of a carson, uprising star alexandra carson is set to play as carla limbrey's niece, lola limbrey. the blonde bombshell's character, created by co-writers, jonas pate, and derrielle johnson, is blurring the line between a strong female character people will love and an unreliable villain people will loathe. according to an interview with johnson, the writer (begrudgingly, if we might add) confirmed that limbrey is going to be rafe cameron's love interest— which has become a very controversial topic among the fans.
