AFTER A WHILE the group of five had nearly reached the safe house were Melina lived nowadays. Alena walked right behind Natasha, next to her Miles who had remained quiet the whole way.

Alexei walked infront of them and guided the group down towards the safe house, which was surrounded by a large grid.

As Alena slowly approached the grid she could see Melina standing behind it, a large sniper rifle in her hands.

The dark brunette woman eyed the group silently. At some point her eyes wandered of towards Yelena and Alena, love laying in her gaze.

"Honey, we're home", Alexei smiled widely at the woman, but Melia still didn't said a thing before she walked out of the grid and past them.

Alexei stuffed his hands back into his jacket as he nodded his head towards the other house, "Come on, girls."

Miles gave him an annoyed look and Alena released a quiet chuckle before she patted his shoulder.

The brunette woman opened the door and entered the house without looking back, "Welcome to my humble abode. Make yourself at home."

Alena let her gaze wander around the room interisted, impressed by how comfortable it all looked. Yelena split from the group and Alena immediately followed after her.

As she entered the dinning room the woman saw how Yelena stood by the table. The chairs stood exactly the way they had stood when they lived in Ohio.

Alena released a deep sighed before she walked over and stood begin the seat she always used to always sit on.

Meanwhile Miles joined Melina and Natasha in the kitchen, the two woman were arguing with each other. "I didn't raised my girls to fall in taps", he could hear the brunette say as Natasha scoffed. "You didn't raise us at all."

"Oh, maybe so. But if you got soft, it wasn't on my watch", Melina stated as she looked at Natasha and walked into the dinning room. She passed Miles and gave him a critical look before she continued her way.

Miles eyed the woman carefu and leaned against the sink as he looked over at Natasha, "You never told me that you had two sisters."

"That's because they aren't my real sister's", the red head answered him edgy before she left the kitchen as well.

The brunette man let out an annoyed huff and stayed in the kitchen before he joined the other's, who were already sitting around the table.

He sat down on the small couch that was standing next to the table and as soon as he had sat down they all could hear Alexei's grunting comming from the bathroom.

After a short moment Melina grabbed the Vodka bottle and quickly opened it, "Let's drink."

She grabbed the shot glasses and started to fill them as Alexei suddenly cleared his voice from behind them.

They all turned their heads towards him and Alena's eyes widened as she saw that the man wore his Red Guardian suit.

He leaned against the door frame with his hand and smirked, "Still fits." Melina let out a loud whistle and Yelena turned around immediately, "Oh, my God."

Melina started clapping and Alexei's let out a triumphantly laugh as he joined them. "I never washed it once. Come and drink!"

Alexei sat down on Alena's opposite and smiled, "Rise, you works of salvation", he started singing something before he sighed. "Family back together again."

"Seeing as our family construct was just calculated ruse that only lasted three years, I don't think that we can use this term anymore, can we?", Melina told them as she grabbed the potato salad and placed it on her plate.

"Agreed. So, here's what's gonna happen-", Natasha quickly spoke up but Alexei interrupted her as he grabbed something from her side, of the table. "Okay, a reunion then, huh? And, uh- I want to say something right off that bat. You haven't aged a day, huh?"

He eyed the brunette as Alena, Yelena and Natasha exchanged a weird look, "You're just as beautiful and as supple as the day they staged our marriage."

Melina smiled at him before she leaned towards the man, "You got fat. But still good."

He down a drink before he looked back at her smirking, "I just got out of prison. I, uh- I have a lot of energy." He raised his eyebrows and smiled at her. "Oh!"

Natasha downed her drink as Alena looked at them with a disgusted look, "Please, stop doing that."

The red head nodded in agreement before she spoke up again, "So, here's what's gonna happen!"

"Natasha, don't slouch!", Melina immediately warned her as Natasha leaned onto the table. "I'm not slouching!", Natasha argued with her immediately while she leaned back. "Yes, yes you are."

Natasha frowned, "I don't slouch!" Melina rolled with her eyes, "You're going to get a back hunch." Alexei leaned over and patted Natasha's arm, "Listen to your mother."

"Oh my God, this-", she started shouting but Alexei interrupted her again, "Up! Up!"

Natasha let her gaze wander over everybody, "All right enough of this! All of you!"

"I didn't say anything. That's not fair!", Yelena stated calmly as Alena gave Natasha a look and shook her head. "I didn't either!"

"Here's what's gonna happen!", Natasha started again while Melina placed some food onto Yelena's plate. "I don't want any food."

"Eat a little something, Yelena, for God's sake!", Melina argued with her as she continued placing food on her plate. Yelena rolled with her eyes as she inhaled deeply and down her drink.

"You're gonna tell us the location of the Red Room", Alena then suddenly stated loudly as Natasha nodded at her in agreement again.

"You know, it's like when you told them that they can stay up late to catch Santa Claus", Melina said as she looked over at Alexei and smiled.

The man nodded his head and smiled as well, "What? That was fun. You know, he come down the chimney, girls. Look out, where is he!? You waited for him, and then when the cookies are gone, then you see he's there."

Natasha gave the other's an confused look as Alexei continued, "No, no. What? I want them to follow their dreams! Reach for the stars!"

Alena gazed over her shoulder at Miles who seemed pretty bored as he gazed out if the window.

"Finding Dreykov is not a fantasy. It's unfinished business", the red head stated as she stared at Melina. "You can't defeat a man who commands the very will of others. You never saw the culmination of what we started in America."

The brunette looked over at Alexia as she shook her head, "Nor did you." Melina stood up from her chair and grabbed her tablet before she sat back down.

The woman tabbed something into the device and suddenly shouted, "Come in!"

The door opened and they all watched how a pig slowly walked inside and stopped by Melina. "Did that pig just opened the door?", Miles questioned them, still sitting on the couch.

Melina nodded her head as she smiled, "Yes. It did." She leaned down to the pig and gave it something to eat, "Good boy, Alexei. Good boy."

Alexei have her a dark look as he eyed the brunette woman, "You named a pig after me?"

"You don't see the resemblance?", she questioned him innocently still patting the pig. "See, he sits just like dog! Amazing. Now, watch!"

"It's a little weird, to me", Alexei stated as Melina tapped something into the tablet. "Stop breathing!"

In that moment the pig stopped breathing and began to grunt after a while. Melina nodded her head as she saw that everyone was looking at her. "We infiltrated the North institute in Ohio. It was a front for S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists. Actually, it was Hydra scientists at the time. In conjunction with the Winter Solider project, they had dissected and deconstructed the human brain to create the first and only cellular blueprint of the basal ganglia. Was the hub for cognition."

She suddenly looked over at Alena, "Voluntary motor movement, procedural learning." Her head snapped towards Alexei, "We didn't steal weaponry or technology. We stole the key to unlocking free will."

Alena's gaze fell onto the table as she let her hand which she had placed on the table fall underneath it.

Suddenly the pig fell to the ground, "What are you doing?", Natasha questioned the woman irretaded. "Oh, I'm explaing that the science is now so exact, the subject can be instructed to stop breathing and has no choice but obey."

Alena gaze fell on Yelena who's eyes slowly started to tear up.

"Okay, You made your point. That's enough!", Natasha told her before Melina nodded her head and looked back to the pig, "Yes, all right. Well, don't worry, Alexei could've survived 11 more seconds without oxygen."

She tapped something into her tablet, "Good boy. Now go back, back home where it's safe."

The pig grunted and turned around, "You go. Go back home, where it's safe!", Melina repeated before it had disappeared completely through the door.

She then turned back to the other's, "The world functions on a higher level when it is controlled. Dreykov had chemically subjected agents planted around the globe."

"Do you know who they test it on?", Yelena suddenly questioned Melina, her voice quiet. The dark brunette didn't looked at her as she thought about it, "Mmm, no. That's not my department."

She then looked over at Yelena and grabbed herself another drink. "Ah, come on, come on. Don't lie to them", Alexei told her calmly.

"I'm not lying", the woman simply answered him as she shook her head. "You're Dreykov's architect, huh?"

"What were you? If I was his architect, you were his partner! You were his business partner!", Melina shouted at him in anger.

"No, no, no. I was patsy! He sell me ideology!", Alexei defended himself but Melina scoffed and Natasha suddenly shouted at the two. "Shut up! You're an Idiot!", she glared at Alexei with wide eyes before she turned to Melina. "And you're a coward."

Melina gave her an angry look as Natasha continued, "And our family was never real, so there's nothing to hold on to. We're moving on."

There was silence as Alena tried to blink her tears away and breathed deeply. "Never family, huh? In my heart, I am simple man. And I think that for a couple deep undercover Russian agents I think we did pretty great as parents, huh?", Alexei argued back at the red head.

Melina nodded her head in agreement before she spoke up again, "Yes, we had our orders, and we played our roles to perfection."

Natasha looked at them both disbelieving as she shook her head, "Who cares? That wasn't real!" Alena frowned at her immediately before she addressed Natasha, "What?"

"That wasn't real! Who cares?", she repeated her words, still angry. "Don't say that! Please don't say that! It was real", Yelena suddenly argued with her, tears in her eyes.

She pointed at herself while she tried to blink her tears away, "It was real to me." The blond turned towards Melina, "You are my mother. You were my real mother! The closest thing I ever had to one!" Her voice trembled as she still looked at all of them.

"The best part of my life was fake. And none of you told me or Alena!", the blond continued as she looked over at her sister.

Alena placed her fists on to the table as she stared at Melina. "You know, those agents you chemically subjugated around the globe? That was me-", the brunette paused as she inhaled deeply and pointed over at Yelena, "And her."

An expression of regret immediately flashed over Melina's face and Alena slowly nodded at her, "Yeah."

The brunette looked over at Natasha who had remained silent and stared at the two. "And you, you got out. Dreykov made sure no one could escape."

The red head still stared at her and Yelena shook her head as she spoke up again, "Are you gonna say anything?" But Natasha remained quiet as she avoided the blond's gaze.
"No?"

Alena stood up and looked over at the red head, "For Yelena, you are her
sister so stop being such
a bitch Natasha."

Natasha looked over at the brunette and Yelena got up as well, but Melina grabbed the blond by the arm. Yelena yanked her arm away before she grabbed the Vodka bottle, "Don't touch me!"

The two walked away and Natasha yelled after them, "Yelena! Alena!"

"No!", The blond shouted back before she quickly disappeared into another room. Alena wanted to be one for a bit, so the brunette decided to go outside.

"I had no idea", Melina immediately told the other's and Alexei shook his head, "It's okay. It's okay. I'll go talk to Yelena first."

Miles stood up from the couch he head sat on the whole time in silence and walked out of the room as well.

The brunette man slowly opened the front door and immediately spotted Alena sitting in the gras, staring into the darkness.

Without turning around the brunette spoke up, "I came here because I didn't want to talk." The man stopped in his trail before he continued his way over to her.

"Well, then we just sit here in silence", he shrugged with his shoulders as he sat down beside the brunette.

Alena glanced at him from the corners of her eyes and sniffed as quietly as she could.

"You know, for the fist time in a really long time I can do what I want. And what am I doing, sitting here with a family that dosen't even wants to be my family", the brunette suddenly spoke up as she still looked straight ahead.

Miles eyed the assasin that sat next to him before he slowly spoke up, "I don't want to offend you, but I have a question. How are you still so compassioned after all these years of killing?"

The brunette gave him a look before she sighed deeply, "There's something Melina always used to tell us when we were little."

A small smile made it's way onto the brunette's face, "Pain only makes you stronger." But her smile quickly changed into sadness again, "To me they were everything. But now, Alexei tells me only about how bored he were and that Yelena and I were the jobs he didn't wanted to do. And Natasha says that we aren't sisters."

Miles interrupted her as he still looked at the woman, "I'm sure he loves you. He just can't show it in the exact way you want him to-" But before the man could end his scentence Alena held up her hand and shushed him.

"Do you hear that?", she questioned him curious and Miles evesdrooped before he nodded. They both slowly got onto their feet. "Sounds like engines", the man told her before they spotted a couple of jets in the distance.

Alena's eyes widened as she suddenly spin around and dashed inside screaming, "Melina betrayed us!"

She immediately grabbed her gun from her belt and slowed down as Miles opened the door were Yelena and Alexei were behind, armed with his bow.

Suddenly the lights went out and a blue light fell through the windows, lightening up the room.

Alexei stood up slowly and looked through the window as he put on his helmet. Suddenly a tiny tranquilizer arrow flew through the glass and hit him directly into the chest.

The man grabbed it and scoffed amused, "They think-", but suddenly ten other tranquilizer arrow hit him into his chest making the man groan before he fell to the ground.

Miles quickly helped Yelena up but as he turned back towards the window and tranquilizer arrow hit him as well.

Yelena quickly grabbed her gun and stepped out into the living room where Alena already stood. The two nodded at each other and rounded the corner.

They could hear another jet landing outside as the two stood behind a wall listening for any sounds on the other side of the wall.

The two nodded at each other and quickly continued their way through the kitchen. Alena immediately spotted Natasha laying on the ground unconcussioned.

The brunette went over to check her pulse but as she turned around she just saw how Melina raised her arms at them. "I'm sorry."

Alena's eyes went wide and she wanted to shoot her but as she raised her gun the red energy-like beam hit her and Yelena.

AS ALENA OPENED her eyes again she was chained to an operation table. Her hair was still in the perfectly made braid and as she let her gaze wander around she could recognize her surrounding.

She was back in the Red Rooms labor where they had operated her before. A man slowly leaned over her and carefully drew a black line onto her forehead.

"This is a much less cool way to die", Yelena's voice suddenly spoke up from besides her, making the brunette's head snap towards her sister. "Yelena!"

Meanwhile Miles opened his eyes as well, the young man was disorientated but he could hear the sound of someone punching against a wall.

"Alexei!", Natasha's voice suddenly spoke up, making Miles sit up. "I can't save us. I need you to know that I'm sorry. I pledged my life to a cause. You know, I thought I was being very brave. Possibly the bravest. But I wasn't being brave. I was coward."

For Miles it sounded like the man started crying which made him frown, "In Cuba, when they came and took you away from me- No cause is worth that. You should only sacrifice yourself for something."

Suddenly the doors of the cells opened and Miles raised his hands into the air as he whispered to himself, "Thank God!"

The man stood up from the bed and stepped out of the cell before he joined Alexei and Natasha. "How did you do that?"

Natasha shrugged with her shoulders, "I designed this cells myself." The red head then grabbed something that was onto her face and pulled down the mask she had on, revealing Melina's face.

"What?", Alexei looked at her with wide eyes and his mouth dropped open. "What? I bared my soul out to you and it was just you the whole time?"

"Yes, I'm afraid so. But wait, shh, I'm on comms with Yelena and Alena", the brunette immediately stopped the man from speaking and further.

She tapped against her earbuds as she spoke up calmly, "Yelena, Alena! It's me, it's Mama. You both have a two-inch blade concealed in your beltline."

"What?", Yelena suddenly exclaimed which owned her a glare from Alena besides her.

The doctors looked at them suspicious as they approached Yelena slowly. The blond's head snapped towards them as she questioned, "What- what are you going to do to me?"

"Outside, right hip", Melina then continued with her instruction. Alena slowly grabbed for the two-inch knife as she listen to the doctors who spoke in russian.

The doctor slowly approached her and the brunette yanked the knife up before she cutted through the large tapes that were suppose to hold her back.

She then quickly cutted the doctor and Yelena did the same, only that her's rammed a syringe into her shoulder. The brunette quickly knocked out the one doctor and turned around as she heard a loud thud followed by Yelena grunting.

The blond laid on the floor while she kicked the dark skinned doctor into the face and Alena quickly threw her knife at the one doctor that wanted to escape.

She hit him into the back and the man fell to the ground. Yelena panted heavily as she stood up and yanked the syringe out of her shoulder.

Alena threw Yelena's green vest towards her and Yelena caught it in the air. "You good?"

"Everything fine", Yelena answered her before they both started to walk away. "You couldn't have told us sooner?"

Melina's voice answered her from the other side of the line, "Don't throw a fit. There wasn't time."

"Okay girls, I'm having trouble hearing you but Natasha, there's something I need you to know", Alexei spoke up as he touched his ear as well.

"I need you to know that I'm sorry. No more excuses, okay? I gave my life for a cause. I thought I was being brave-" "You don't have earpiece", Melina told him loudly, making Alexei frown at her, "What?"

"No, she can't hear you. You don't have earpiece", Melina explained to him as she shook her head. "Why not?"

"Because it wasn't part of the plan."

"Oh, yeah? Well, what was the plan?", Alexei questioned her curious but Alena spoke up again. "So, where did he take the vials?"

"Probably down to cold storage. Dreykov still has the widows under his control, so you have to expose them to this antidote", Melina answered them while the two whipped off the black markes on their faces and made their way out into the corridor.

"Yeah, sure. Easy", Yelena commented as she stared down the corridor.

"Come on now, we're just going to pres buttons and hack computers. I mean, I don't know", Alexei said as he looked at Melina who nodded her head.

"There's nothing for me to do and I want to break something!", the russian man excalimed as Melina gazed past him and Miles.

"You do? Oh, there is something you can break", the brunette told him as Dreykov's special project enter the room.

"Wait, what is my job?", Miles questioned her. "Melina, if this is the last time that we-", Alexei said but as he gazed over his shoulder Melina was already gone.

"Ah, damn it!"
