Meilani's eyes flickered around the guards that she, Isaac and Liam had all just taken on. She and Isaac both had the same thought to snoop around in their pockets and get whatever key cards they had. If it had been any other moment, the two would have shouted " JINX! " in their mind link, but Meilani was more focused on the fact that their time to get Lydia was running out rather than her and Isaac, once again, thinking the same. She plucked out one of the guards' walkie talkies and brought it up to her lips as Liam turned away from the gate where he had been trying to get through the mountain ash barrier. "Does anyone have eyes on the Closed Unit? I need a status report."

"It's a war zone down here."

"Uh . . . " Meilani trailed off for a short moment, her brain working through all the radio talk that Meilani had heard Stiles and Noah use. "10-4. What about the patients? Lydia Martin?"

There was a long beat of silence and Liam's eyes only blew wide, the scent of nerves hitting the air around the three wolves. "Who is this?"

"It's . . . Unit Nine," Meilani lied swiftly, shrugging at Isaac when the blue eyed werewolf shot her a look.

"Lans, these are guards. Not police," Isaac retorted.

As if on cue, the walkie talkie sparked to life again after Isaac's words, only plummeting Liam further into his nerves. "There is no Unit Nine. Who is this? How did you getย โ€” "

Meilani crushed the walkie talkie in her hand before the guard could finish his sentence, chucking the walkie talkie to the side with a huff. She tugged a hand through her hair and spared a glance between her beta and her best friend. "Alright, boys, we need to figure out another way to get into this Closed Unit."

Liam chewed the inside of his lip as his eyes flickered back to the gate that kept them from getting to the Closed Unit where Lydia, Scott and Stiles all were. "How do we get through the mountain ash, though?"

"I don't know yet, but there's somebody else here that might be able to help us," Meilani said, earning both of the wolves' attention. Both sets of blue eyes blinking in confusion and curiosity.

"Who?" Isaac questioned, crossing his arms as he had no idea who Meilani could be referring to or why Meilani hadn't asked this person for help from the beginning.

"Meredith."

Tugging the two boys behind her, Meilani used the memory of Meredith's scent to sniff her out in the glass rooms that were on the floor the trio were on. After checking many different boxed rooms, Meilani finally found the girl she had been in search of and swiped the stolen key card to slip into her room with Isaac and Liam closed behind her. Meredith was sat in her chair in the room, back to Meilani so she could only see the girls' brown afro and clothed back. The room only had a bed in it and a small toilet and sink for Meredith to go to the bathroom. There wasn't even anything blocking off the toilet, making Meredith have to go vulnerable with the peering eyes of guards as they walked by her see through room. It was degrading to even look at and Meilani felt her heart ache for the other supernaturals that had been locked up besides Meredith and Lydia.

"Meredith, it's Meilani. Meilani McCall," Meilani greeted breathlessly, her lungs still slightly feeling like she had asthma. She furrowed her eyebrows when Meredith didn't so much as turn around to look at her and slowly circled the girl's metal chair to stand before her. A quiet gasp left her lips when she saw how distanced Meredith's gaze was. It was almost like the girl was physically there, but mentally she was somewhere else. In a place that Meilani wasn't sure how to bring her out of. However, she had to try.ย

Exhaling a shaky breath, Meilani motioned for Liam and Isaac to watch out for any incoming guards and she squatted before Meredith, delicately taking the pale girl's hand into hers. "Hey, Meredith, can you hear me? We need your help. We're trying to find Lydia and get her out of here. You have to listen to me, okay? There has to be another way to get to Lydia. Isaac, Liam and I can't get past the mountain ash. How do we find her?"

Meredith didn't move or speak for a long moment, fully deflating Meilani because of it. She puffed out her cheeks and squeezed Meredith's hand gently, showing the girl that Meilani wasn't upset with her that she didn't respond as it was definitely linked to whatever torture Meredith had clearly gone through while in the asylum. When Meilani went to stand up and make her way over to Isaac and Liam, Meredith's grip on Meilani's hand tightened and it startled the true alpha, causing her to turn suddenly to face Meredith again. She brought Meilani's fingers to her neck, signaling for the girl to use her claws and go through her memories.

"Meredith, no. I โ€” I can hurt you," Meilani argued quietly, frowning softly when Meredith just pressed Meilani's fingers to her neck in a silent agreement to the invasive method Meilani would have to do. She glanced over her shoulder to Isaac and Liam who both merely shrugged, figuring it was as good idea as they had at the moment. "I โ€” okay."

Flicking out her claws, Meilani gave Meredith a second to prepare herself before she plunged her nails into the back of the girl's neck, guilt still flooding Meilani even though Meredith had given her the silent permission she needed. What Meilani expected was flashes of images to go across her mind, showing Meilani exactly where she needed to go. She expected to go through it quickly and then her, Liam and Isaac could be on their way. What Meilani didn't expect was to be ejected from her body so she was placed at the end of a long, dark corridor with Meredith at the other end. Lights were placed along the tops of the walls, but they didn't offer much light tot he area Meilani stood in.

"Meredith?" Meilani whispered, taking slow steps forward when Meredith turned the corner into another set of corridors. Everything looked the same as more rooms lined Meilani's right and a concrete wall rested on her left. When Meilani turned the next corner, she stumbled back at the sight of Lydia on her knees in the middle of the corridor. She was dressed in a bland, gray robe and the usual gray sweats and white t-shirt of the patients. Her hands were held up to her ears and her mouth open in a silent scream, shaking her head from side to side and causing her curly, strawberry blonde hair to swish side to side from the motion. She rocked back and forth as if in some sort of Banshee episode.

"She doesn't have much time," Meredith's voice echoed, suddenly popping up at Meilani's left side. Her gaze was focused ahead on the screaming Banshee and Meilani stared at her side profile.

"What's happening to her?"

"She's being consumed by her power," Meredith responded flatly, her voice still echoing around in Meilani's ears as if speaking down a long tunnel. "Dr. Valack thinks it's worth it if she can answer the question."

Meilani furrowed her eyebrows and glanced from Meredith and back over to Lydia, her heart sinking further the more she watched Lydia silently scream. "What question is that exactly?"

"Who is the Beast?"

Meilani's head whipped back to Meredith who had finally looked at Meilani for the first time since she'd gone into Meredith's head. Her blood froze in her system and she scanned Meredith's face for any sort of a lie, not that Meredith had any reason to even lie to Meilani. "She โ€” she can answer that?"

"Not yet. Not until the screams in her head are loud enough to kill her."

"How do I get to her?"

"You can't, Meilani. You, Isaac nor Liam will be able to get past the mountain ash, but someone else might be able to."

Meilani tilted her head, crossing her arms as she tried to rack her brain for who could get through the mountain ash that wasn't her, Liam or Isaac. Or even Scott or Stiles because, the way Meredith spoke, it was almost like she was suggesting another supernaturalย being could do it that wasn't her or the other wolves. "And who is that?"

"The Hellhound. Her and Parrish are connected. Find the Hellhound, Meilani, and he'll find the banshee."

Meilani's nails suddenly retracted her nails from Meredith's neck and placed her back in Meredith's room, the banshee's voice echoing in her head to save Lydia before it was too late. She wiped the blood off her fingers and turned to the boys when the sound of Meredith's door opening alerted her. A massive orderly stood in the doorway, staring intimidatingly at Meilani before . . . he wasn't. His massive frame collapsed to the ground to reveal Liam behind him with his fists raised and a veryย amazed Isaac stood next to him. Almost like he hadn't believed that Liam had been the one to take down this massive orderly in the first place.

Liam panted slightly and lowered his fists slowly, eyes bouncing between the orderly and his shocked alpha. "I, um โ€” is he out?"

"Y-yeah, Li. He's out," Meilani blinked again in surprise, stepping over the knocked out orderly's body and stepping closer to his beta who suddenly leant against Isaac's side for support. She snorted quietly when Isaac shot her a heavily annoyed look that he had Liam clinging to him as the youngest werewolf tried to get his body to cooperate. "If you two are done cuddling, we need to go find Parrish. He's the only one besides Scott and Stiles that can get through the mountain ash."

Isaac huffed, pushing Liam off him so the beta was stood on his own two feet again and followed after Meilani who already began to make her way away from the unit they had just been in, searching out Parrish's scent. "What's so different between Parrish and us that he can get through the barrier?"

Meilani shrugged, keeping her focus on searching out Parrish and following it towards the door of the stairs. "Don't know, but I'm also not questioning anything at this point. We just need to save Lydia."

Pushing through the door to the stairwell, Meilani took them down for about four flights before she finally came upon Parrish's charred body, his shirt missing and his jeans ripped up at the bottom. She leapt down the rest of the way and dropped down next to the Hellhound that had been knocked out from whatever he had done. Shaking his shoulder gently, Meilani whispered out Parrish's name to try and get him to come out of his unconscious state. Thankfully, Parrish had fluttered his eyes open and Meilani let out a sigh of relief that they hadn't lost their best ally at the moment.

"Meilani? How โ€” what am I doing here?" Parrish asked groggily, slowly pushing himself to sit up on the second step.

"We, uh . . . we don't exactly know. Kind of just followed the scent of burning flesh," Isaac remarked, motioning to the state that the Hellhound was currently in.

"Parrish, listen, Eichen is in lockdown. There's no way for us to get out unless Plan B works. We need you to find Lydia."

Parrish stared at Meilani in disbelief, slowly dropping his hands to his lap from where he had been staring at his charred and bloodied palms. "Me?"

"Actually, not completely you. We kind of need the other you โ€” the Hellhound."

So, apparently, Meilani wasn't done with learning new things about the supernatural like she once thought. Honestly, at this point, Meilani should just expect to constantly learn new things about the supernatural because now she knew why Parrish was able to go through the mountain ash barrier. When she, Liam and Isaac followed after Parrish after they had set him backย on fire, they all watched in amazement as Parrish quite literally burned the ash in a blue flame right before their eyes. Meilani had shot her hand through the gate once Parrish was through in astonishment, but it quickly left when she kicked back into gear and took off after Parrish.

The trio were lead back down into the maze of tunnels and Meilani had appeared in front of a doorway just as Stiles and Scott stumbled out. She caught Stiles in her arms before he could go crashing to the ground and she noticed Lydia on her knees before the door, hands to her ears much like they had been in Meredith's vision. Just before a sharp scream could be released from Lydia's lips, Parrish wrapped his arms around the banshee and soaked up her screams into a spurt of smoke of fire. Meilani quickly hauled Stiles to the side since he was still unsteady on his feet with the others following, just narrowly missing the blast of smoke and fire that shot out of Parrish's back.

It all seemed to only last another moment before Lydia was swept up bridal style into Parrish's arms as he extinguished his hellhound fire, to showcase an even more charred body from how it looked before. Stiles had squeezed Meilani's arms gently to let her know he was okay and the true alpha slowly released him, offering him a small smile when his hand reflexively brushed along hers as he stood back to his full height. Whatever moment that Meilani and Stiles would have had was cut off by Liam mentioning that he knew a way out of the tunnels and the pack were off in the direction he lead in.

"There's a gate up ahead," Liam announced to the pack that followed behind him after leading them through a few different turns.

"What about Mason?" Meilani asked, jogging to keep up with her beta who walked quickly.

"He's on it. Trust me."

Mason didn't wait to continue the conversation with his alpha and carried on ahead quickly. It only resulted in Meilani cursing to herself and kicking off after him to make sure he didn't do anything stupid. She shouted his name along with Stiles and Scott, but Liam didn't listen to any of them. Liam had broken out around another corner where an electric buzzing could be heard and Meilani stopped short when she saw it was the gate that Liam had spoken about, electricity clearly running through it if the buzzing was enough to go off.

The second Liam's hands wrapped around the holes of the gate, the gate zapped and then shut off as Liam grunted and pulled at the gate to slide it open. He panted and pushed away from the now open gate with a smile filled with pride over his best friend fulfilling his part of the plan. It was kind of endearing and reminded Meilani of Stiles, Scott and herself in the beginning of her werewolf adventures, causing her to exchange knowing smiles with her two boys as they both looked to her.ย

"Aha, I told you!"

"Liam, no one likes a gloater," Isaac rolled his eyes at the beta, rushing after him when Liam took off again without a second look back.

The pack took the labyrinth of dark tunnels again until they came upon a patch of light that shined down from the ceiling. To their right was a ladder that would lead up into the streets and each member quickly climbed their up until Liam was the last one out and placed the cover back over the grate just as Stiles' Jeep pulled up with Malia in the driver's seat.

Malia dropped down from the driver's seat and Kira rushed around the front as the two girls took in the sight of a swaying Lydia that had finally been placed on her own two fight. "Is Lyds okay?"

"No, we need to go. Give me the keys. We gotta get her to the clinic," Meilani responded, instantly feeling the cold metal of Stiles' keys in her hands.

A grunt was heard before Parrish flashed past Meilani and dropped his hands to the hood of Roscoe. Her eyes widened in surprise before she whipped around at the sound of an extra pair of feet to see Tracy held Lydia against her, scales dotting along the side of her face and all up her hands and arms.ย

"Sorry, but she's coming with me," Tracy taunted, slowly backing up with Lydia clutched between her scaly hands.

Meilani slowly raised her hands and took a tentative step forward, Stiles' Jeep keys still gripped tightly in her hand. "Tracy, just wait. You have no idea what's about to happen."

"I'm taking her. That's what's happening and none of you are going to do a thing . . . " Tracy trailed off just before a zap sounded through the night air. She choked on air and dropped to the ground, revealing Natalie Martin behind her with one of the guards' taser stick gripped tightly in her hands.ย

Isaac quickly caught a stumbling Lydia and held her up against him, holding her protectively and assuring her that she was okay while all eyes snapped to Natalie who demanded to know who would be getting her daughter far away from the asylum.ย

The pack didn't need to be told twice before they all split up. Meilani, Stiles, Lydia and Scott hopped into the Jeep and sped off towards the clinic while Isaac and Liam went with Malia and Kira to bring Natalie back home safely, both boys promising Meilani they'd stay with Natalie until they knew Lydia was okay to give the woman some company. An action that Meilani knew Natalie would surely appreciate at the moment as Lydia was still going in and out of consciousness, the hole in the side of her head still bleeding with some blood already dried around it.

Meilani fumbled around in the driver's seat of Stiles' Jeep as she sped the thing towards the animal clinic. Scott rambled to Deaton from the passenger seat while Lydia sat wedged between Stiles and Isaac in the back, sweating and lips pressed together to keep herself from screaming again as Parrish wasn't there to absorb her screams again. Isaac and Stiles kept talking to Lydia to try and keep her with them and her mind off the screams that definitely continued to echo around in her skull. However, it could only help for so long before Lydia eventually let out another earth shattering scream that caused Scott and Stiles' ears to bleed and Meilani and Isaac to cringe as their wolf hearing were at their disadvantage.

The animal clinic had finally come into sight and Isaac and Stiles both hauled Lydia inside and into the main examination room where Deaton waited for them. He instructed to the two boys get Lydia up onto the metal examination table while Meilani and Scott skidded inside behind them and both stood on one side of the table while Isaac and Stiles stood on the other side. If this were any other time, Meilani surely would have teased Stiles and Isaac for actually working together for once without any arguments between them.ย

Lydia was placed on the table just as another quiet scream left her lips, shaking the entire room and Meilani and Isaac were quick to shoot their hands out and hold Lydia down against the table when Deaton instructed them to. Stiles and Scott both groaned again at the sound and the tension in the room only built, especially when Meilani and Isaac realized just how rapid Lydia's heartbeat was inside of her chest.

"Doc, I think you need to do something!" Stiles yelled over to the man who stood with his back to the pack, a long syringe in his hand that he stuck into a metal cylinder.ย

"I will, but right now, I need Meilani and Isaac to keep Lydia still," Deaton called back, slowly filling up the syringe. Once he was done, he pulled the syringe out of the cylinder and he made his way over to where the five teens were, holding up the massive thing and causing Stiles' eyes to widen at the sight.

"What โ€” what the hell is that?" Stiles questioned, his voice sounding small and weak. Needles were one of his weaknesses and Meilani could hear the gulp that followed his question as his wide hazel eyes took in the sight.

"Mistletoe."

Isaac balked and his head snapped up to meet Deaton's gaze, the veterinarian bending down to place the tip of the needle at Lydia's head now that Meilani and Isaac were able to keep Lydia still. "Mistletoe? She's got a freaking hole in her head, Deaton! What's mistletoe gonna do?"

Deaton didn't respond, just pressed the needle into the hole and pushed whatever mistletoe was inside of the syringe. The second the last drop spilled into Lydia's head, she shot up and let out one final earth shaking scream, causing the other occupants of the room to stumble back and cover their ears. Though, it didn't stop the sound from piercing their ear drums and only oozing more blood from Stiles, Scott and Deaton's ears.

Meilani slowly lowered her hands from her ears the second the screams were done and she slowly approached her now passed out and pale friend on the table. A shaky hand reached out to touch Lydia and a strike of fear coursed through her as she realized that she couldn't hear Lydia's heart beat. A frantic shake began to take over her head as both hands gripped to her strawberry blonde friend's shoulders, tears building up in her eyes. "No, no, Lydia! Lydia, come on. You โ€” you have to open your eyes. I โ€” I can't lose you, not you. Not you, too. Please. Please. Lydia, you โ€” you need to wake up. I โ€” show us your green eyes that I always tell you I'm jealous of because they're a really pretty color. Please, Lydia. I can't โ€” I promised you I'd save you. I can't break that promise, not to you."

A broken sob passed and Meilani felt arms wrap around her, Stiles' arms. Her gaze didn't break from Lydia's still and pale face as she continued to plead with the banshee to wake up. Her heart squeezed painfully in her chest, flashbacks to Allison dying in her arms rearing its ugly head in the forefront of her mind. This would be twice that Meilani could have saved her best friend girl friends and failed. She had failed Lydia Martin.

Or at least, that's what Meilani thought.

A gasp sounded around the room and Meilani choked out another sob filled with relief when she saw Lydia's eyes flutter open. She scrambled out of Stiles' hold and threw herself over Lydia, hugging the strawberry blonde girl close to her. "Lydia, thank God. You're okay. The boys got you out, Lyds. You're safe now, I promise. We're all here with you. You're safe and sound now."

"Thank you," Lydia whispered, clinging to her best friend as the two girls held each other as her eyes flickered up to Stiles and Scott who stood behind Meilani with expressions filled with relief on their faces. "Thank you for saving me."

Stiles laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of his neck while Scott grinned at Lydia who tried to smile the best she could at the boys. "Oh, it was nothing. Just your usual Batman and Robin stunt."

Meilani relaxed against Lydia as the two girls continued to hold onto each other, both silently thankful they had the other. Her eyes closed for a moment as she felt Stiles rub her back soothingly, basking in the current moment. Her pack was back together again. All of them.

Meilani's pack was finally complete once again.
