Meilani sat in the front seat of Roscoe with Stiles in the driver's seat as the duo sped down the slippery, dark roads behind three deputy cars. Stiles' police radio chattered in the silence between them as Hayden's sister reported to dispatch about seeing a very big . . . something. That big somethingย being the Beast that Meilani and the gang were now trying to take down and save Beacon Hills . . . again. Another deputy pulled in and mentioned that an animal attack had happened on another part of the highway and that he needed ambulances stat, having no sight of the "animal" any longer.

Meilani barely had a second to stop Stiles before he grabbed for the police radio walkie talkie, bringing it to his mouth and pressing on the side button. "All units stay back. Do notย engage. I repeat do notย engage."

"Stiles, get off the radio!" Noah's annoyed and pissed off filtered through the speakers and Meilani grimaced at the static that followed his message to his son. "All unit wait for back up. I repeat, no one goes near this thing."

"Unit Five reporting a sighting on Hill Road southbound . . ."

"Unit Nine, I've got it turning off Oakridge, southbound on Beachwood . . ."

"All units this is Dispatch. We've got a 9-1-1 call with additional sighting on Mitchell."

Stiles froze at the information, sharing a look with Meilani as they both processed the distance between the two parts of town. However, as usual, Stiles was the one to speak up on the said information. "Wait a second. Lani, Beachwood to Mitchell?"

Meilani exhaled heavily with a shaky nod, tugging a hand through her hair that had been straightened for once but was already starting to curl back up thanks to the rain outside. "Yeah, it's headed back for the hospital."

Stiles, in his usual spastic nature, fumbled with the walkie talkie again and brought it back up to his lips frantically. "Dad, just listen to me, okay? This thing is headed for the hospital, alright. He is headed for Beacon Memorial. You hear me? It's headed for the hospital." Once he was done, Stiles threw the walkie back onto its holder in the radio and spared Meilani a glance. "Buckle up, baby, we're about to get bumpy."

If this was any other time, Meilani's heart would have raced at Stiles' use of the pet name that she hadn't heard since their fight. She would have fed off the warmth that spread along her chest at the sound of it and maybe even smiled softly over the whole thing. However, in their current situation, Meilani could only focus on the fact that this beast was headed straight for her mom and Scott and Isaac who had texted her just a few minutes ago that he had stopped by to drop off dinner to the woman who was working a late shift.ย

Meilani was thrown back into her seat as Stiles pulled back on the gear shift and sped off down the road and through a shortcut that the duo had found on one of their many adventures dealing with the supernatural. It had gotten them to the hospital before Noah and his deputies were even nearby and Meilani and Stiles both leapt out of the Jeep, running into the hospital to see it deserted and all the lights turned off. A gun cocking behind them alerted Stiles and Meilani and they whipped around to see Noah had showed up with a hand gun in hand.

"You didn't hear me coming?" Noah asked the True Alpha with raised eyebrows.

"She's gotta work on it, we know."

Before Meilani could make a comment to Noah or Stiles, the building shook as a deafening snarl tore through the hospital and Meilani instinctively reached her hand out to place on the two Stilinski men in case she needed to throw them behind her. She turned her head up towards the ceiling where the lights above began to flicker between on and off, catching the scent of the beat a few floors up. "It's on the fourth floor."

The trio had made their way up the fourth floor where everything was a mess. A few small fires had been started on on the cabinet near the entrance to floor, papers and other debris littered the ground below like a makeshift carpet, multiple wheelchairs had been knocked over onto their sides, and the lights above continued to flicker like they had downstairs. It looked like they had stepped out into the start of some horror movie and Meilani had to keep reminding herself that her life wasย a horror movie, as if she were even surprised to what she had stepped out into.

Fun fact: she wasn't surprised at all.

Just as the trio made it to the end of the hall, Meilani threw her hands out and pressed her hands to the two Stilinski males' chests to stop them from walking. It wasn't a second later before a body on fire flew right past them and crashed into a mattress that had been propped up against the wall. The second the body hit the mattress and crashed to the ground, the fire disappeared instantly and revealed Parrish who had two long claw marks along his torched his skin and his eyes resembled that of the fire that had just been all over his form.ย

Meilani's shocked eyes moved from Parrish who looked dazed to the ground below where she noticed bloody footprints. They looked like an animal's, but one that walked on two feet as they were a bit distanced instead of closer together like a dog or cat's would be. She slowly followed the prints along the floor until she froze a few feet up when the prints suddenly turned into human shoe marks. Almost like the creature had shifted mid-walk and turned into a human.

Stiles' scent suddenly flooded her senses as he stood behind her, peering over her shoulder at the change in prints and she could hear a surprised breath leave his lips. The same breath that tickled her hair slightly and moved it like a soft breeze, her back pressing against his chest absentmindedly as she stared down at the bloody change.ย

What the hellย was this thing?

After their trip to the hospital where, thankfully, Melissa and the two boys had gotten out with everyone else before the beast could attack them, Meilani and Stiles made their way to the animal clinic. Meilani had called Deaton in a rush as she rambled off whatever happened down at the hospital while Stiles sped the Jeep through the wet, shiny streets once again and towards Meilani and Scott's place of work. The same place that had become more like a safe haven and learning place than a place where Meilani and Scott helped Deaton take care of sick or hurt animals.ย

Deaton finally entered the main examination room as he eyed Stiles and Meilani, a small tick to his eyebrows when he noticed them stood a bit closer together than they had over the past few days. Naturally, Deaton knew about everything that had been going on with the pack and he knew things were still a bit tense between the couple, even feeling it in the air . . . along with a hint of something else. If he had been a werewolf, he'd be able to smell the sweet scent that lingered around soulmates. The scent being extra heavy as the two soulmates slowly found their way back each other along with the shockwaves between them whenever they touched to symbolize their bodies reconnecting again.

"What I'm about to show you isn't supposed to exist," Deaton warned the two, silently telling them they couldn't go running off their mouths to just anyone about what he had to show them. He pulled out a stack of polaroids from the manila envelope gripped in his hands. Placing one down on the metal table placed between him and the two teens, it revealed the face of a man with a mouth to reach all the way back to his ears with a row of razor sharp teeth on the top and bottom of his extra long mouth. A hole was placed into the side of his head as if he had gone through a lobotomy. Even more horrific images were placed down after it, causing Meilani's stomach to churn slightly at the sight. "This is the only surviving evidence of Dr. Valack's time as Chief Medical Officer of Eichen House. To call it human experimentation would be charitable.

Meilani noticed one photo that didn't look like the rest and picked it up to peer down at the photo of the woman screaming, hands pressed to her ears as she laid in her bed in Eichen House. She tilted her head as the image reminded her of Lydia when she would Banshee scream.

"A Banshee," Deaton spoke, confirming Meilani's thoughts on what happened in the photo. "She died screaming."

Stiles peered over Meilani's shoulder at the girl before his hazel eyes flickered back to the metal table where Deaton continued to place down polaroid pictures of the humans that had all been experimented on thanks to Dr. Valack. "So . . . he drilled holes into their heads? All of them?"

Deaton finished lining up the photos before he leant his hands on the table, eyes glancing up to Stiles with a small frown. "That was the experimentation part. He did it to werewolves, banshees, wendigos, any creature he could get his hands on. Valack found that trepanation would initially heighten their powers, but to levels that couldn't be contained."

Meilani chewed the inside of her lip as she tried to process everything she had been told. Dr. Valack currently had Lydia in his clutches in Eichen House and now that the pack were back together now that Malia was done tracking down the Desert Wolf, they were all able to join their heads together and finally save Lydia. Stiles had visited Lydia just a few days before and he had mentioned to Meilani that she definitely wasn't safe. She had been catatonic and didn't even blink or speak when he was in the room. A strange feeling had blossomed in his stomach at the sight and he had told Meilani that they needed to get Lydia out of there and fast.

"So . . . he wants to make Lydia more powerful. He's gonna drive her to end up like them," Meilani noted, gulping audibly at just the mere thoughtย of Lydia even having to go through any of this. She wouldn't last long in there if thisย is what Valack was going to do to her best friend.ย

"Worse, actually," Deaton corrected, only tripling the bile in Meilani's throat. "Lydia's abilities were already pretty exceptional to begin with. Putting a hole in her head will be like causing a leak in a nuclear reactor. She will hear everything. Every death, every dying scream, all at once."

"That's gonna kill her," Meilani breathed, knowing fully well that that much stimulation to the banshee's abilities would cause her to scream herself to death. Much like the girl in the photo that Meilani still gripped tightly in between her fingers.

"Not only that . . . her own dying scream could be so powerful that it might kill everyone around her as well."

The next morning, Stiles already had a plan after speaking to his father at the Sheriff's station. He couldn't get Lydia out of there himself because everything that was going on was, technically, legal to the law. Or at least, the things that everyone knew about. So the pack had to do things the illegal way that Noah would turn his cheek to as usual. Which lead to a whole pack meeting in the middle of the McCall kitchen where Stiles set up his laptop with a blueprint of Eichen House on the breakfast bar in the middle of the kitchen.

"There's four steps," Stiles began, snapping his fingers and pointing at the laptop and blueprints that rested before the pack. "We get into Eichen, we get into the Closed Unit, we get Lydia and we get the hell out of there."

"And we have to do all of this while getting past orderlies, guards, electronic door locks, and a Mountain Ash barrier," Meilani concluded with a small grimace, knowing that those obstacles would worry the pack as she could already smell the worry, concern and fear wafting from all of them.

"Oh, yeah, totally easy. Can do that in my sleep," Isaac grumbled, running a hand through his curls with a small huff.

Malia raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms at the duo that stood before her. "You two have a plan for all of that?"

Stiles raised the plain white key card that he had been hiding in his pocket, showing it off to the members of the pack. "I stole this last night off an orderly, but it's useless 'cause they reset codes each night."

Scott stared at his best friend as if he had sprouted fifty heads, one of his arms draped gently around Kira's shoulders. The duo had been inseparable since Meilani was able to rescue Kira and Noshiko, bringing them both back safely like she'd hoped. It was a nice sight to see as the pack deserved at least someย happiness right now. "So why did you take it then?"

"Lani and I are getting to that, Scott!"

"Right, the only way to get Lydia out of Eichen is to make that key card work again," Meilani spoke up, deciding to move the plot outline along as they were really crunched for time. She wasn't sure how much longer Lydia had left and Meilani would be damned if she let her best friend become another one of Valack's "failures". She pulled Stiles' laptop and flipped it around to show off the list of numbers on the screen for the pack to glance at. "Stiles pulled all the history off the key card last night. Two weeks ago, there was a brownout and the security system rebooted. During a reboot, all of the key cards revert back to a default code. So, if we trigger a reboot . . . "

"The card goes back to the default code," Liam finished for Stiles, earning a proud smile from Meilani that the young beta had caught on so quickly. "It works again."

"How are we going to cause a brownout, though?" Kira inquired, eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she had no idea how they would manage that bit of the plan.

"That's your part," Meilani informed the Kitsune whose eyes widened at the new information. "You're going to draw power from the main line, but only enough to cause a brownout."

"Not a blackout," Stiles clarified as if Kira needed the clarification in the first place. "Do that and you send Eichen into lockdown which would be bad. Very, very bad."

Meilani nodded along with Stiles, her hair that had been pulled back into a ponytail that morning swishing with the movement. "There's an electrical room behind the reception counter. The main power line goes into two breakers that run power to all of Eichen."

Kira laughed nervously, shaking her head as she pulled from Scott's hold and closer to the breakfast bar. "Okay, slight problem. I don't know how to do that."

Meilani offered Kira an assuring smile, hoping to ease the girl's nerves. Even if it was just a little bit. "Don't worry, Kira. You have time to practice."

"Let's say all of this goes perfectly. How does a brownout get us into the Closed Unit of Eichen?" Malia piped in next, gesturing to the spot on the blueprint that had been circled to signify the Closed Unit.ย

"The system take five minutes to reboot," Stiles explained, earning all eyes on him again thanks to Malia's questioning. "In that five minutes all the alarms will be turned off and the key card should work."

Meilani turned to Liam who peered up at her innocently and she offered him the assuring smile next. "Liam, you, Isaac and I will get Stiles and Scott to the gate of the Closed Unit, but after that . . . the boys have to go on their own. We won't be able to get past the Mountain Ash." Her eyes then flickered to Scott who had tensed at the mention of him going with Stiles to help get Lydia. "Scotty, I know that's asking a lot, but I can't have Stiles going by himself and you're the only one here besides Stiles that can get past the barrier."

Scott cleared his throat and rolled his shoulders as if trying to push away the nervous tension that had built up suddenly. "No, it's fine. I want to help."

Meilani nodded appreciatively at her twin and then focused her attention back on the pack as a whole. "When we're gone, all anyone's going to think is that there was a reboot of the security system caused by a brownout."

"Uh, any questions?" Stiles tacked on awkwardly, eyes bouncing between every member of the pack.

"How do we get into Eichen House in the first place?"

"What's our worst case scenario?"

"What if I can't do it?"

Stiles exhaled heavily and dropped his hands back to his sides with a small huff of slight frustration. "Okay, okay, admittedly, a lot could go wrong."

Isaac tilted his head at Stiles and crossed his arms across his chest with a small scoff, eyebrows raising at the spastic boy. "Actually, Stiles, everything could go wrong with this plan."

Meilani shot Isaac a look to which he quickly backtracked at and offered Meilani a sorry look to which she waved off. "Look, if we don't do this, we lose Lydia. I'm not losing anyone else, guys, you hear me? Lydia is my best friend and I am not going to let her become a puppet to Valack or let her die in there when I could have saved her. We're doing this."

Later that day, Meilani stood in the morgue with Isaac and Liam as the three wolves stopped by the hospital to pick up large body bags to sneak their way into Eichen House. Melissa had agreed to give her daughter whatever she needed to save Lydia. The McCall woman fumbled with the folded bags slightly before she held them out to her daughter, but quickly retracted it before the true alpha could take them, causing her eyebrows to furrow.

"Please promise me you won't be coming back in one of these," Melissa pleaded softly, eyes bouncing both of Meilani's own. There was a slight desperation to her eyes and it caused Meilani to frown slightly at her mother's worry.

"Mom, it's not like the dead pool, I promise," Meilani assured, taking the three bags gently from her mom who still looked worried.

Isaac wrapped an arm around his mate's shoulders and grinned boyishly at Melissa, hoping to get the woman to smile just a little bit. "Yeah, plus, she's got me by her side. Nothing's gonna hurt her, Melissa. We'll be coming back with Lydia."

Meilani playfully rolled her eyes at Isaac's over exerted confidence and flickered her gaze over to Liam when she saw him shift slightly out of the corner of her eye. "We still don't know who is actually doing this. Who the beast is."

"We'll find out, Liam."

"You think it could be someone we know?" Liam inquired, remembering back to when Meilani explained to the pack about how the prints went from animal to human real quick. "Or that he even knows he's doing it? Like how you said that Jackson kid didn't know he was the Kanima back when you were a sophomore?"

Melissa placed her hands on her hips and sighed, shrugging as she eyed Liam. "What makes you so sure this beast is a he?"

Liam scrunched up his nose as it was obvious that Melissa still kept Liam under a microscope. She still hadn't fully forgiven Liam for attacking Meilani in the library that night she died for fifteen whole minute. It had been the longest fifteen minutes of Melissa's life and the longest fifteen minutes for Isaac as he literally felt dark and empty as Meilani slowly slipped away. Melissa had, thankfully, gotten there in time to save Meilani and Isaac had never been more grateful to feel Meilani's life force become strong again. Or, at least, as strong as it could be as Meilani still struggled with her true alpha strength. "Are you still mad at me, Melissa?"

"No," Melissa replied shortly, standing straighter as her eyes narrowed at the young boy who squeaked at the harsh look he was on the receiving end of. "However, if you try to kill my daughter again, I'll put you in one of these myself."

Meilani rolled her lips into her mouth as her eyes twinkled with amusement. She allowed Melissa to bring her head forward and smiled softly when Melissa's lips brushed her forehead delicately. A squeeze was placed on Isaac's shoulder as the older McCall woman passed by and Meilani and Isaac glanced to Liam again who watched Melissa walk out.

"She's still mad."

"Okay, my dad's got the lab working on the shoe prints, but, uh . . . we're both kind of mystified about how giant clawed werewolf feet turn back into a pair of sneakers."

Meilani jogged to keep up with Stiles' fast paced walk through the high school's library, the duo having met up after Meilani left the hospital with Isaac and Liam to go over the last bits of the plan they had to smooth out before they broke into Eichen House. Everyone else was at the McCall house as they waited for the green light from Stiles and Meilani to head over to Eichen House to start the plan. "Well, Argent said it wouldn't be like anything we've ever seen before."

"Did he say it was going to defy the law of physics?" Stiles questioned as the duo continued to walk down the steps of the library and down to the main floor.ย

Meilani opened her mouth to respond but quickly grabbed Stiles' flannel sleeve, tugging him back when she caught scent of Theo. Just as luck would have it, when Meilani lifted her head to look towards the direction of the exit, Meilani noticed Theo propped up against the bookcase closest to the exit as he lazily flipped through a book in his hands. His blue eyes snapped over to Meilani and Stiles at the sound of their footsteps and Meilani had half a mind to rip his head from his shoulders. "What are you doing here, Theo?"

"I still need to graduate," Theo remarked, pushing off from the bookcase and smiling wickedly at Meilani and Stiles. His eyes flickered to where Meilani gripped to Stiles protectively and pursed his lips subtly in irritation at the sight of the duo slowly gravitating back together. He had heard of the soulmate bond and never realized how strong said bond was until he saw it right before him. Any other couple would have never spoken again after what went down between Stiles and Meilani and, yet, here the duo were and looking like they were slowly getting back to normal again.

"No. No. What you need is to be beaten severely with a lead pipe wrapped in barbed wire . . ."

"Okay, I admit that mistakes were made," Theo cut off Stiles and Meilani had to tug on Stiles' sleeve again when the pale boy tried to step forward to Theo. As if he could have taken on the chimera in the first place.

Meilani scoffed and narrowed her eyes at the chimera, hands absently gripping tighter to Stiles' sleeve in anger. Though it received no complaints from Stiles as their sides brushed again when Meilani tugged him back. "Murders. Some murders were made."

Theo rolled his eyes and his hand continued to lazily flip the book in his hands, his eyes flickering back down to it. "You know how the Soviets helped us win World War II? They knew how to make it through a Russian winter."

"That it? Okay. Thank you, Theo. Very informative," Stiles quipped.

"If you are planning to break Lydia out of Eichen House, you still need to get past the Mountain Ash. You can't make it through, Meilani. You just can't."

Meilani's jaw twitched in anger and she refrained from flashing her red alpha eyes at the chimera. "What do you really want, Theo?"

Theo's eyes flickered back up to Meilani lazily and he shrugged. "I know you saw the fresco. Two seriously pissed off creatures, the Hellhound and the Beast, fighting over a pile of dead bodies. I don't want to be one the bodies, it's that simple. I can get you to Lydia. Or we can see who gets to her first."

Meilani let out a disbelieving scoff as Theo shut his book loudly, tossing it onto a random shelf and exiting out of the library without a second look back at Meilani or Stiles. She crossed her arms as her tongue poked into her cheek, feeling the anger and irritation only triple at Theo's words. "There's no way he can know what Valack is doing to Lydia. Why is he so interested in her?"

"He could be thinking what we're all thinking. That Lydia's got something bigger to do with this. That maybe she's the only one who can actually save us."

"She took out the whole school?" Meilani cried, rushing into her house after receiving a text from Malia about Kira practicing at the school and knocking out the lights in the whole building. She froze in the living room where Malia and Kira both stood with Scott, Isaac and Liam all ย sat on the couch with equally wide eyed expressions over their faces.ย

"She took out the whole grid," Malia corrected.

"Look, I failed every single practice try. This isn't going to work, Mei," Kira frowned deeply, truly feeling as if she would be the one to ruin the whole mission.ย

"How far can we get without the brownout?" Liam asked, trying make the peace like he tended to do. He wanted to save Lydia just as much as the rest of them and he was willing to figure out any option they could to get her out of there whether they could use Kira's part of the plan or not.

Stiles snorted and shook his head. "The front door."

Meilani waved her hands around to stop everyone from talking, a shake to her head as determination set over her face. She wasn't letting Lydia down. Not now and not ever. "No, we're going. It doesn't matter how many times you failed, Kira. I know you can do this. I have all the faith of the world in you."

Kira's frown only deepened and her shoulders tensed further as more and more doubt flooded her head. "Mei, the key card won't work unless there's a reboot. There's no reboot without a brownout."

Meilani stepped closer to Kira and placed her hands on the Yukimura girl's shoulders, the same assuring smile from earlier prominent on her delicate features. "Ki, I knowย you can do this. You are a bad ass Kitsune who can do anything she set her mind to." Her eyes bounced between the rest of the members of the pack that stood or sat around her living. "Anyone here think Kira can't do this?"

"Kira can definitely do this. She never let us down before," Scott chimed in, offering his girlfriend two thumbs up with a boyish smile that seemed to relax Kira the slightest bit.

"Yeah, totally have faith in you! I believe in you," Isaac added.

"Not me," Liam agreed, with a sheepish look crossing his face. "You got this, Kira."

"I was the one who put you in the plan, so . . . " Stiles trailed off awkwardly, rubbing a hand over his fluffy brown hair.

Everyone glanced to Malia when the werecoyote didn't say anything encouraging to Kira. Her eyes flooded with confusion on why everyone stared at her like she was on display and Meilani mentally facepalmed.

"This is the part where you say I believe in you, too, Kira," Isaac stage whispered, earning a tiny snicker from Scott at the lack of subtly from the blue eyed werewolf.

"I'm the one that's gonna be locked in an electrical room with her!" Malia complained, jerking her thumb in the still apprehensive Kitsune's direction. She softened slightly when everyone shot her blank looks and she turned to Kira with her best attempt of an encouraging smile. "You can totallyย do this, Kira."

It was quiet for a long moment as Kira took in everyone's encouraging words ( some better than others ) and she exhaled heavily, a flicker of a smile of her own fighting its way out. "You guys are all crazy and we're gonna die."

"That's the spirit!"

Later that night, Meilani, Scott, Stiles, Liam and Isaac all successfully got themselves through the gates of Eichen House and right into the morgue as planned. Meilani's quick thinking of using an actual dead body in an extra bag had worked out perfectly when the guard at the gate had asked Parrish, who had been driving the police van, to open the bag so he could log the names for the morgue's records. However, he quickly recoiled at the foul stench of the decomposing body โ€” a smell that Meilani and Isaac were nearly vomiting over thanks to their supernatural scentย โ€” and allowed Parrish to carry on.ย

Meilani slowly and quietly unzipped her body bag and sat up on the metal examination table that was placed next to four others, each table holding a member of the pack that was part of this part of the plan. Isaac was the next one to open his bag and he cheered silently next to Meilani with his arms thrown in the air at their moment of success. Liam and Scott were after Isaac all the way at the end with the last body bag on the table next to Meilani to open with Stiles inside of it.ย

Naturally, Liam, Meilani, Isaac and Scott all were able to gracefully get out of their bags after unzipping them all the way. Then there was Stiles who struggled with his stuck zipper that stopped at his waist and he tugged frantically to try and get out of his own bag as they only had fifteen minutes from that very moment to get to Lydia and get out. With one final tug, Stiles let out a yelp of surprise as he swung himself off the table and onto the floor with a low SMACK!

Isaac pursed his lips and glanced from the spastic boy on the floor that flailed out of his bag finally and over to Meilani who rubbed her forehead in stress over the whole ordeal. "Lans, seriously, did you pick him up off the side of the road or something?"

"Or something," Meilani sighed, rolling her eyes fondly and helping the spastic teen up onto his Adidas covered feet and patting his back comfortingly as he fixed his crumpled zip up hoodie that got messed up in the fall. She waltzed over to the door of the morgue, straining her alpha ears to listen for any footsteps that might have walked by. Once she was sure that no one was on the other side and the coast was clear, Meilani tugged the door open and motioned for the boys to run out and into the hall so they can get Scott and Stiles to where they needed to be.

The three wolves and two humans made it through two sets of hallways before they had to pull back at the sight of two orderlies right in front of the gate that Scott and Stiles needed to go through to get to Lydia. Two orderlies that weren't even supposed to be there in the first place, a clipboard grasped in the bald one's hands.

"What the hell are they doing there?" Meilani hissed, hating the sudden fork in their plan as they now had to get rid of the orderlies somehow.

"I don't know. Their rounds should have ended five minutes ago," Stiles grumbled, peering over the side of the wall again momentarily before pulling back. so he wouldn't be seen by the two orderlies.ย

"I can take them," Liam offered, cowering back at the stern gazes her got from the four older teens before him.

Meilani huffed and ran a hand over her hair, silently grateful that she'd pulled her hair back into a ponytail earlier. "No one is taking anyone. We got three minutes to figure something out."

Liam pursed his lips and gestured in the direction of the two orderlies again. "Lan, I can just knock them out and hide the bodies. I won't kill 'em."

Isaac hummed and wrapped a hand around Liam, pressing his hand to the young boy's mouth to stop him from talking. "Huh, I can suddenly think clearly now without the little buzzing in my ear."

Before Meilani could scold Isaac to behave a bang came from the side and the teens all turned to see a patient behind a glass wall. The same wall that the patient had just banged on to get their attention. How the hell did Meilani, Isaac and Liam all miss his presence between their heightened sense of smell and hearing?ย

"Did you take the doctor? I haven't had my medication. I need ten milligrams at eight am, fifteen milligrams at one pm and no more than twenty at dinner."

Meilani held her hands up to try and get the patient to lower his voice, a pleading expression forming on her face. "Um . . . yeah, yeah. We'll get you your doctor, okay?"

"Doctor Fenris," the patient said, but then he became more frantic as he continued to repeat the name over and over with sobs taking over his frail form. "They took Doctor Fenris." He started to bang on the glass again, staring down the teens and they all flinched with every hit to the glass that definitely alerted the two orderlies down the hall. They needed to distract the orderlies, but definitely not like this.

"Can someone please shut him up?" Scott begged, peering over the wall subtly to notice that they did, in fact, draw the two orderlies' attention as they both now faced the opposite end of the hall now where the teens stood. "Like right now."

Isaac shrugged and flashed his bright yellow beta eyes and werewolf canines at the patient, causing him to cry out in surprise and scramble back at the sight of Isaac's werewolf form. Thankfully, it had done the trick as the orderlies both shrugged at the now silent patient and carried on through a door to the side, leaving the hall vacant and free for the teens to continue down and finish what they came to do.

Stiles lead the way down the hall with Scott at his side, brandishing the key card from his back pocket when they reached the gate at the end of the hall that he and Scott needed to pass through. The lights above them began to flicker, showing them that Kira had been able to do her part of the plan like Meilani said she could. However, their perfect plan fell short when Stiles froze with key card in his hand. "Uh . . . where's the card reader? It should be here. It has to be here."

"They must have taken it out when the Dread Doctors got through," Meilani noted, squeezing her eyes shut and rubbing her hands over her face roughly out of stress.

Stiles balked and whirred on Meilani with wide eyes. "Are - are you telling me that we came all the way down here just to be stopped by an ordinary key? Are you kiddingย me?"

Liam bounced where he stood, eyes scanning the entirety of the gate with determination set in his face. "No. We don't need a key. Not if we can break it down."

Meilani exchanged a look with Isaac, all three wolves all shrugging as they had no other options at this point. The three wolves all threw themselves at the gate, trying with all their might to knock the gate off and get Scott and Stiles onto the other side so they could save Lydia. No matter how hard the trio pushed, they couldn't get the gate to budge or break, even with Meilani's true alpha strength. Huffing, Meilani pushed back from gate, panting slightly as her brain registered on why their strength wasn't at its best. "It's the Mountain Ash. It's too much for us. We can't break down the gate."

"Hit me."

"What?" Meilani's head snapped up and over to her beta in shock. "You want me to . . . what?"

"Hit me, Lan. I'll get angry and then I'll get stronger."

Stiles nodded in agreement, a pleased smile taking over his face as he gestured towards Liam. "Yes, Lani, please. Hit him. Hit Liam!"

"I tried to take your powers. I tried to kill you. Hit me!"

"He also left you for dead," Scott reminded coldly, brown eyes dark as he narrowed them at Liam much like Melissa had. Apparently, Scott wasn't fully over Liam trying to kill Meilani either.

Liam nodded, face contorting into rage to try and provoke Meilani more. "Yeah, I wanted you dead!"

Meilani clenched her fist and swung it up towards Liam's chin, sending him flying backwards into the gate as she'd used her whole true alpha strength to punch him. If it got them out of her ear, then she'd do it and, thankfully, the punch had worked. Liam growled at the pain in his jaw and when he lifted his head, his eyes glowed yellow and his werewolf canines exposed. Not wasting another second the three wolves threw themselves at the gate once again and broke down the gate this time with two minutes to spare.

With an encouraging nod and push to the back, Meilani guided Scott and Stiles through the gate and waved them on when they both glanced back at her. She panted slightly from the strength used to get the gate broken down and leant against the wall near the gate, praying that their idea worked this time.

Of course, barely even half a minute after Stiles and Scott left to go get to Lydia things went downhill. Meilani had suggested they try to get past the mountain ash which, as usual, did not work out. She'd only done it the once and that was to get rid of Jennifer Blake, however, she couldn't do it again. Meilani was pretty sure she'd never do it again if she were even honest with herself.

Then, three orderlies ran out as alarms rang out around the mental asylum, signaling that a lockdown was going into effect. They each flashed out taser sticks that none of them wasted in waiting as they hit the three wolves with them, sending electric shocks through each of them. Meilani choked on a pained gasp, the octaves clearly pulsed up to take on any supernatural creature that may have come through. She weakly lifted her head to look over to Liam and Isaac who both struggled immensely with the shocks as they weren't as strong as Meilani, a sudden spark igniting through Meilani at the sight. She let out a thunderous roar that shook the walls around her and swung out both hands, knocking down any nearby orderly and knocking the out out effectively. The last standing orderly threw himself to the ground, shaking like a leaf at the sight of Meilani's red alpha eyes and werewolf canines.

Isaac and Liam both scrambled to their feet, fixing their clothes up that had gotten messed up thanks to the shocks from the orderlies. All three wolves shifted back to their normal selves and Meilani's gaze hardened, noticing they barely had any time left to save Lydia and she wasn't about to go down without a fight.

"Come on. We're getting Lydia out of here and we're doing it now."
