The bar grew louder as plenty of more people entered it, some already drunk as they stumbled towards the counter and took a seat down. " 3 shots little lady! " one snarled in a demanding tone. The girl behind the counter had turned around almost offended, " I'm sorry? " she slightly glared at the bigger man in front of her.

" oh you heard me! " he snapped his fingers as he pointed to the drinks behind the girl, she scoffed before turning around as she grabbed a tall bottle of vodka. " asshole " she mumbled so slightly under her tone, it was a busy night tonight at one of the bars in the downtown parts of New York City, and Mia Prescott was stuck having to deal with assholes like this.

She turned around as she placed down 3 small glass cups for taking shots in individually in front of her neatly, popping the lid off of the vodka bottle she poured each of them one at a time until they were just halfway full.

Right as she was about to give them to the men in front of her she started snapping her fingers in the main guys face, he made a kind of annoyed face looking at her. " yeah you don't like that huh? " she had a little smile on her face, " so don't do it to your bartender thank you very much! " she patted the man on the side of his face before turning around to assist another group of people.

She smiled when she noticed the girl sitting in front of her wearing a perfect tone of yellow on her dress, her bag was placed nicely on the counter in front of her.

" you know you shouldn't have your bag placed like that, we've had people take and run. " she lightly grabbed the women's purse as she admired it, Mia wasn't the type for fancy things but she really liked her purse.

The young women had turned around so gracefully in her seat as a smile formed across her face, " hello Mia " she spoke as she tilted her head so slightly. " hey Laura " Mia smiled as she placed her purse back down nicely in front of her.

" what brings you here tonight? " she tossed a rag over her shoulder as she was wiping out cups that have been cleaned already, " oh you know meeting up with someone " Laura sighed as she looked around, " speaking of someone I have been waiting here for ages! " Laura looked over as Mia giggled.

" who's keeping you waiting so long L " Mia questioned as she was wondering who could possibly keep the one and only Laura Crane waiting all alone at a bar.

" oh you know I have a date with this guy " Lauras smiled so happily as Mias jaw dropped, " what's this lucky man's name? " she insisted on knowing. " Reggie is his name, met him from tinder " she looked back towards the door, " well I already don't like this man " Mia made a little pouty face with her lips.

" oh come on why not mi? " Laura gave her the look as she tilted her head after she placed her phone down, " because he's keeping you waiting " she raised an eyebrow before going back to cleaning out cups.

hey wanna get me a drink? " she pointed at Mia who looked at her, " yeah of course what's on your mind? " she peeked behind her at the many different drinks that are stored neatly.

" oh surprise me " she winked before turning back to her phone, she shook her head as she always loved whenever Laura would show up to the bar late nights during her shifts.

" a shot of vodka " Mia returned back to the counter as she placed down a small shot glass, starting to pour vodka into the small glass Laura started laughing at her phone.

" Reggie guy? " Mia teased as she put the lid back onto the bottle before returning it neatly to its proper spot, " yeah actually " Laura laughed. " he's lost apparently " she added, Mia had a strange look on her face. " how can he be lost it isn't too hard to find this bar? " Mia had a slight giggle under her breath.

" men I swear " she whispered before she noticed Laura get slightly nervous in front of her as she pushed her blonde hair back, " he wants me to call him " she continued on as she hit the call button on the bottom right corner.

Mia stayed quiet as she knew it was a respectful thing to do whenever someone was on the phone, Laura had quickly drank the shot that Mia left in front of her as she watched the phone ring.

She turned around going to do other things as she didn't wanna intrude on their conversation or anything, she grabbed a bottle of wine and began filling up peoples glasses that had their hands raised.

the red head began making her way back towards where her friend sat, she sped up as she noticed Laura grab her purse while still on the call as she got up. " Laura where are you going? " Mia stopped her as she was already leaving so soon.

" oh Mia, I'm just going outside for a bit of fresh air and to give Reggie some details of the bar from the outside " she spoke so sweetly and quickly, " you want me to come with? " she suggested but the girl just shrugged. " I'll be fine and you better get back to work " Laura opened her arms wide as she gave the small red head a big hug.

" be safe and you better come back! " Mia shouted as she watched her best friend walk out the door of the bar, she sighed as she pushed her hair back before returning behind the counter of the bar.

" excuse me can I get another glass of red wine please? " a very snazzy man asked, " yeah of course you can " she walked to the other side of the bar to where she had her red bottle of wine, strange tho it wasn't there.

She grabbed another bottle of wine that was brand new as she wasn't sure what had happened to her other bottle she always kept that one hidden, hm she thought before wondering back to the man who had been patiently waiting.

" I'm so sorry about that " Mia exclaimed before grabbing the wine glass and moving it closer to her, she began pouring it so carefully as she didn't wanna get any on the man or herself.

" there you go sir enjoy " she had a bright smile on her face watching as the man ran off.

She grew rather worried about Laura she hasn't returned or anything, something did not seem right if Laura was to decide to leave to go home or anywhere else she would have popped her  head back in and said something or at least given mia a text or a call.

A sudden scream of terror happened as Mia nearly jumped and had a heart attack, " I gotta go! " she yelled as she could recognize who's scream it was. " Mia you have work! " her boss yelled furious. " I don't care! " she screamed running across the street.

She covered her face as cars kept quickly stopped and honking in front of the girl, " I'm sorry! " she yelled before getting to the other side of the road.

" Laura! " she screamed as loud as she could her voice slowly dying the more she yelled, the screams continued on and on as they echoed from the alleyway.

Her heart was racing as she started to slow down to be careful while going down this alleyway, she bent down reaching carefully into her black boots as she brought out a pocket knife. A special one that was given to Gale by her mother to be given to Mia for protection reasons.

" Laura?! " Mia softly yelled as she carefully walked as quiet as she could down the alleyway there was a bunch of crates and boxes everywhere as she peeked around each one.

As she peeked around one specific crate with boxes on top her jaw dropped, screams of terror filled the alleyway as she dropped down to her knees. " LAURA! " her voice cracking as she grabbed the sides of her best friends face.

Blood was dripping from her chin as she had stab wounds all over her chest, her sides and her stomach. " COME ON LOOK AT ME! " the girl began sobbing uncontrollably tears rolling down her cheeks as she shook the girl in front of her.

No response was given by Laura to tell Mia that she was still alive by some miracle, " god please no! you can't just take her from me yet! " the redhead began to lay her head down on the dead girls shoulder sobbing into her yellow dress.

She felt a pair of arms wrap around her " no don't touch me! " she turned around as she started hitting at the person. Only to realize it was Ethan that was standing there with his hands on her waist still, " what are you doing here! " she yelled as she started wiping her tears away.

" your boss called me " he paused looking back at Laura's body, " told me you ran off and seemed a bit off so I came running to find you " he was biting at his bottom lip not knowing what to say to the girl who was drowning in her own tears in front of him.

She didn't know what to do except to wrap her arms around him as she sobbed into his chest, " she's dead Ethan " she gulped swallowing back her tears, " I know I'm sorry love " he talked in a comforting voice as he stroked the top of her head pushing strands of hair out of her face.
