004.

RIGHT AS NATE STARTED RUNNING AWAY FROM THE APARTMENT TO HIS AUDITION, everyone else was already planning to follow right behind him.

Anthony clapped, "Let's go! Let's go!"

"Ooh, he took my trench coat." Cassie then gave Aunt Heidi a purple coat she spotted on the floor. "Oh! Yeah, where is my.."

Chloe gave her her keys, "Keys."

"Yeah. Okay. So, we're going to just find him at the audition studio and it's going to be okay! Okay. Yeah."

"Let's go!"

"When this is over, I want to know how much you pay for this place."

"Okay. You'd be surprised."

"AS LONG AS HE'S ALIVE, EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY." Aunt Heidi reasoned.

"Yeah! So I can kill him."

"Over his agent's dead body."

"Alright, nobody's murdering anyone!" Aunt Heidi yelled.

"You started it." Anthony muttered opening the door as Cassie rushed in behind Libby.

"Lilo and Stitch? It was a cartoon. Can you just please check the schedule again?" Aunt Heidi asked. "There's no way he just made this up."

"A hundred percent kidnapped." Anthony mumbled as Cassie slapped his arm. "What?"

"He's not kidnapped!" Cassie whisper yelled at him. "Don't put that out there."

"Don't.. stop saying that!" Aunt Heidi joined in.

"There's no Lilo and Stitch on the schedule today. Promise." The security guard promised as Anthony then leaned on the counter.

"You haven't seen anyone this morning who looks like me?" Anthony asked. "Just like, little shorter, kind of gawky?"

"He's not gawky, he is incredibly castable and very cuddly." Libby tells as Cassie, Anthony and Chloe all looked at her in confusion. "No matter who he chooses to love."

"Girl, what?" Chloe sang lowly.

"Okay, okay. Yeah. Anyway.."

Anthony grabbed her arm and whispered, "Do you think she likes him?"

Cassie made a face as she whispered back, "Obviously.. but isn't he.. different?"

"Ma'am!" The two teens then looked back to see Aunt Heidi turn the computer around until Libby's phone chimed.

"Wait, ma'am? Ma'am? I'm ma'am to you? We could have gone to college together." Libby smiled and hid her phone behind her back.

"Hold on." Anthony snatched Libby's phone and saw a photo of Nate in the city, at a whole new location. "You knew the callback wasn't here, didn't you? Aunt Heidi."

"What?"

Anthony showed the phone to Aunt Heidi and Chloe, "He's at some place called the Amsterdam theatre."

"New Amsterdam, Anthony. New. Words matter." Libby corrected.

After hitting the elevator button multiple times, it was only a matter of time to wait.

"I feel like Elizabeth Shue in Adventures in Babysitting when the kid she's watching gets stabbed in the foot. What.. okay, I'm 100. Hi, I'm 100 years old." Aunt Heidi babbled.

"Heidi?" A older woman came out and questioned.

"Oh, my gosh! Don't look at me, I'm a mess." Aunt Heidi tried to cover up herself.

"You disappeared yesterday. I hate when good people disappear." The elevator finally pinged as the four kids all made their way in the elevator as Anthony rested his arm on the elevator door.

This made Cassie stare up at him, for the first time, actually stare for the first time in a while. The way his curly hair framed his face but perfectly, his brown eyes that held a warm essence to them although they perceived to be harsh and his vans.. his wonderful vans that made him, him.

Feeling her stare on him, he stared back down at her, "Are you okay Cass?" He asked.

Cassie smiled, "Yeah."

"I'm sorry, family emergency." Aunt Heidi gestures to the four kids as they all waved at her.

"Look, I just got a last minute no-show and the director hasn't liked anybody this week. Can I slot you in?" The older woman asked.

"Is this an out of town job or straight to broadway?" Libby asked.

"Alright, that's a really good question, actually."

"Straight to broadway, baby!" The older woman smiled.

"You're doing this audition."

"Meet us at the Amsterdam theatre!" Anthony yelled, the four kids getting in the elevator and pushing the button.

"Anthony, it's not a famously liberal city in Europe, it's a broadway theater." Libby reminded as Anthony rolled his eyes causing Cassie and Chloe to giggle.

Cassie, Libby, Anthony and Chloe all made it to the New Amsterdam theater successfully, now sitting down expecting Nate to enter onstage.

"Okay, whenever you're ready, Nate. Nate? Hello?" Finally, he entered onstage and Cassie immediately smiled, sitting forward giving the youngest Foster her whole attention.

"Okay, do you have any questions before you sing?" The casting director asked.

"Just one. In the movie, Stitch can't really speak sentences, so, how does he sing lyrics in the musical?" Nate asked.

There then was a bunch of snickering and laughing that came from backstage which made Cassie scoff and roll her eyes. Immature.

"Because, you know, musicals allow us to say things we can't actually say in real life." The same casting director told him.

The piano then started to play but Nate didn't appear to be full of smiles as he originally would which made Cassie's smile falter and look at Anthony and Aunt Heidi with confusion written on her face.

"I'll admit," Nate began to sing but it sounded as if he was just crying. "I don't know much about this life. I've spent a long time on the outside looking in. Never feeling accepted, thinking that's just the way it was," Nate then turned the page and continued, "but something happened somehow life brought you to me and I think that's when I realized I belonged. My family's been here all along and boy, it's good to have a friend so.. maybe I don't always need to feel so small, maybe this planet ain't so bad after all.. from here and out—" Nate finished singing off key which made Cassie's heart break.

"Thanks, Nate, I think we're good." The lights then shut off and Nate almost leaves the stage.

"You don't embarrass me!" Anthony shouted, standing up as Nate turned around. "I promise. You don't embarrass me, Nate."

Nate then lifted up the papers and resumed his singing perfectly on tune, just like original Nate, "So from here on out, I'll never let you down. I won't be perfect all the time but I'm always gonna try, yeah. I don't care where, I'll always be right there cause I've got a family to call mine and family means no one gets left behind," He then turned around and the lights went back on him. "You bet I'll try to bring you all the sunny days, and if you cry, I'll be there all the same, so bring the thunder, bring the rain cause you know—" He threw the papers up in the air which erupted all laughs, "From here on out, I'll never let you down cause I've got a family to call mine and family means no one gets left behind, yeah, oh! Left behind, yeah, oh! From here on out I'll never let you down, can't claim I'll do everything right.. but I'll love you all my life, yeah I don't care where I'll always be right there cause I've got a family to call mine," He pointed toward the five of them which made Cassie blow air kisses to Nate, "And family means no one gets left behind, yeah oh! Left behind, cause family means no one gets left behind, yeah! Left behind oh, cause I've got a family to call mine and family means no one gets left behind."

Anthony then started to clap but got shun down by Libby quickly, "You don't do that, it's inappropriate."
