Chapter 9

Disclaimer: I do not own BNHA or the Quirk Impulse. Impulse was created by @hawkin_headlines on Instagram. They have a Comic Villain Deku AU Series on Instagram and I encourage you to check it out. It's really awesome! BNHA itself was created by Kohei Horikoshi. I own nothing but the plot for this story.

-------

Midoriya P.O.V

As All for One rested his hand on my forehead, I wondered once again where my mom had gone. If she was watching at this very moment. If she was disappointed in me. Well, too bad. This was my decision, and I hoped she respected it.

"This is going to hurt." I heard All for One say, and I snapped back to the present where the LOV stood, watching.

"I know. Nothing comes without a price." the price I had to pay in order to find this place was my mother. I had survived Kacchan; this couldn't be worse.

"I'll begin now." AFO's hands began to get warm, and then became hot, then scorching. Yet, I gritted my teeth and embraced the pain. Without pain and sacrifice, there was nothing to gain.

--------

I opened my eyes to the light streaming through my window, and sat up. Where was I? How had the meeting gone? ....was it all just a dream? A fraction of my hopeful mind taking the form of a dream? Then the door bust open causing me to fall off my bed, and a voice called out,

"IZU-KUN! YOU'RE AWAKE! WE WERE SO WORRIED!" well, Toga was here. Rubbing my head, I climbed back onto my bed.

"Uh, from what?" she stopped and looked at me, then rushed over and put a hand on my forehead.

"Hey-what-"

"Izu-kun, are you sick? Do you have amnesia?" I shook my head frantically, and laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

"Nope. Himiko, I'm surprised you know such a big word. Amnesia." she pouted and slapped my arm, and shot back,

"Well, you're not any smarter, seeing how things went last night." wait, what? So it wasn't a dream? All of it was real?

"First things first. Master told us to get you once you were awake. He wants to talk to you." said Shigaraki, and alongside Dabi, strode into the room.

"For the record, only Toga was worried." I could see in his eyes it wasn't true. Even though it had only been a few days, I'd grown quite close to these Villains. They really weren't as bad as Heroes made them seem. We were like one big family.

"E-eh?" All for One wants to talk to me? Did I do something wrong?

"Let's go, let's go!" Himiko practically bounced up and down with excitement. Dabi shook his head.

"Nope. It's just the brat. Besides, you and I have a job today." a job? I wonder what it was about. Probably Villain activities.

"Get dressed, and meet me in the bar. Not that you have to." added Shigaraki. I nodded, and waited for all of them to leave before I looked around my room. The walls were a pale gray, and the floor was made of marble, worn and dirty from the many years they had been here. In the corner to the left of the bed was a closet. I walked over to it and opened it. It was completely empty.

"What the-" then I realized I was still wearing yesterday's clothes. So that's what Shigaraki meant. Walking into the small bathroom of the room, I washed my face. It was the least I could do.

"Time to go, I guess."

---------

Once I arrived at the bar, I gaped at the scene that spread out before my eyes. Kurogiri was angry with Himiko for breaking one of his tall glasses and sticking a knife through the wall beside his counter. On top of that, Shigaraki-kun was busy chasing Dabi around for taking 'Father' from him. The only thing Dabi was holding was one of Shigaraki-kun's plastic hands, so I figured that's what it was.

"Uh...sorry to interrupt?" I questioned and immediately all of them froze, with the exception of Shigaraki-kun who continued to scream at Dabi.

"GIVE FATHER BACK, YOU STUPID ASS STITCHES!" he screamed, and jumped over a chair to get closer to Dabi.

"MAKE ME, HANDS!" Shigaraki-kun's eyes glinted with malice. Speeding up, he tackled Dabi to the ground and kicked him, then grabbed his plastic hand out of Dabi's grasp. After safely securing it on his face, he walked over to a stool and sat down, leaving Dabi on the ground, groaning in pain.

"Ahem." said Kurogiri, while straightening his tie. Dabi groaned, rubbing the spot Shigaraki-kun had kicked him. Himiko was on the couch, and Dabi walked over to join her after standing up and glaring at Shigaraki-kun, who glared back. I sat down on the ground, not caring if it was dusty.

"Yeah, yeah. Get on with it, Misty." muttered Dabi, and Shigaraki-kun nodded.

"Dabi and I have a job!" cheered Himiko, and she ran over to where Kurogiri stood, retrieving her knife from the wall with a sharp yank.

"Dabi and Toga, you may go. Izuku, go down that hallway and turn left, then enter the basement door. After that, turn right and head straight through the door." I turned my head at the direction he was pointing, and suddenly didn't want to go. It was dark, and no one was going with me.

"Uhm...c-can someone go with me?" I didn't like dark places. Ever since that night my stomach was slit open and my mother died, I didn't wish to anywhere dark by myself.

"Oh! I'll go! I'll go!" offered Toga, and waved both of her hands back and forth, the knife still in one of them.

"You have a job." pointed out Shigaraki-kun.

"I can't go either. I have to clean my glasses." of course. That left Shigaraki-kun, and I couldn't exactly I say I was excited to be in his company. He never showed a lot of emotion; always anger, pissed, tired, or annoyed. Still, he treated us like family.

 " I'll go." said Shigaraki-kun, just as I expected.

"Okay." I nodded jerking my head in the direction of the hallway, and we set off.

---------

Walking through the darkness felt like eternity, and when we finally reached the door, I resisted the urge to hide behind Shigaraki-kun.

"Well, go in. We don't have forever." I gulped. and pushed open the door, poking my head into the room first.

"Welcome back, Izuku Midoriya." I heard All for One say, and I inched forwards.

"W-why did you need to talk to me?" I asked, and he paused.

"Tomura, kindly let us discuss this in private." I stiffened. After bowing, Shigaraki-kun left, shutting the door behind him with a soft snap. I heard his footsteps fade, and turned back to All for One.

"Now, let's talk about the events from yesterday."

~Time Skip (Don't worry you'll find out what they talked about in future chapters.)~

After talking with All for One, I felt more confident. Happy, even. I strode back into the bar with a smile on my face. Dabi and Himiko weren't back yet, so it was just Kurogiri, Shigaraki-kun, and I in the room.

"I take it that it went well?" questioned Kurogiri as soon as I practically skipped into the room. He was cleaning another one of his glasses, this one shorter and covered in swirly designs. Shigaraki-kun was playing on a console with both his pinkies raised, afraid to disintegrate the controls.

"Yep!" I replied, popping the 'P' as I sunk into the sofa. That's when door slammed open, revealing Dabi and Himiko, both covered in blood. They both had frowns on their faces, even Himiko. I couldn't tell whether they were hurt or just annoyed, as they were both slouching.

"Tough day?" asked Shigaraki-kun as he looked up from his game, but forgot to pause it.

"Shigaraki-kun your gam-" I didn't get to finish as his head snapped back to the screen, and his brows furrowed.

"SHIT I FORGOT TO PAUSE THE GOD DAMNED FUCKING THING" he screeched as he threw the console across the room. Folding his arms, he looked Dabi and Himiko up and down.

"So, how did it go?" he asked. Dabi looked up and replied,

"Good. We killed the target, but police showed up and caught a glimpse of our faces." Hearing this, Shigaraki-kun stiffened, glaring at them.

"WHA-" he began, but was cut off by Kurogiri.

"Did you let then follow you?" Himiko shook her head. I sat on the sofa watching all of this. My mood plummeted, and I was worried for Dabi and Himiko.

"Are you guys okay? Are you hurt?" they both shot me a grateful, but tired smile. Then they shook their heads and walked off to where I assumed their rooms were. Then I turned around and stared at Shigaraki-kun and Kurogiri.

"Uh, why are you staring at us like we've grown a second head?" asked Shigaraki-kun while heading to other side of the room, and picking up his console.

"You guys shouldn't have yelled at them. They were trying their best." Kurigiri looked guilty, then nodded. He even paused his glasses wiping, which was a first.

"I agree. I guess we over reacted." he said, whereas Shigaraki-kun just sat down, and continued to play without saying a word.

Dabi P.O.V (Heh I know I haven't done a P.O.V changing some time, so surprise, I guess!)

I waited until Toga had gone into her room, and pressed my ear against the door connecting this hallway to the bar.

"You guys shouldn't have yelled at them. They were trying their best." I heard the new recruit say. I was shocked. He'd only known me, for what, a couple of days? And he was already sticking up for me.

"I agree. I guess we over reacted." I heard Kurogiri reply, and there was a pause, then a shuffling noise. My guess was that Shigaraki had gotten his console back from where he threw it.

I thought about my past, about my childhood. Then I compared to what. had now. Friends. Family. People who cared about me. Then I remembered Izuku-the new Villain who Toga obviously had a crush on. That's when I wondered,

Why couldn't my childhood been like this?
