Chapter 1
Disclaimer: I do not own BNHA or the Quirk Impulse. Impulse was created by @hawkin_headlines on Instagram. They have a Comic Villain Deku AU Series on Instagram and I encourage you to check it out. It's really awesome! BNHA itself was created by Kohei Horikoshi. I own nothing but the plot for this story.

GASP. Izuku Midoriya sat up in his bed and looked around. He was still in his room, and by the looks of it, it was still nighttime. Sweat ran down his back as he remembered his nightmare. That was the 3rd night in a row. Was this going to keep happening? Midoriya looked at the red numbers on his clock which stood on top of his mantel. It read 4:38am. He ran a hand through his dark green hair and slid off the bed.
"No use trying to get some sleep, I guess. It's not like I'll be able to sleep anyways." Midoriya walked around the room, and got his clothes ready. Might as well, he thought, as he prepared for the day ahead.

"Izuku, honey, it's time for breakfast!" a voice cleaved through my head, startling me awake.
"Huh. So I did fall asleep, again." I mumbled to myself as I stood up. "OW!" I rubbed my back, which seemed to have cramped as I fell asleep at the side of my bed while I was packing up.
"Izuku, hon, are you alright?" I heard my mother call. I let out a small breath and smiled. I turned around and called back,
"Yes, mom. I just had a back cramp!" ...huh. My voice came out quite cheery, despite what I knew was going to happen today. Today was the last day of middle school, the day we graduated and decided on a high school we were all going to. Kacchan, of course, was going to UA. I also knew that today's bullying would be the worst so far.
"Izuku, come down! Or else you're going to be late for school! You don't want that, do you, hon? Today's your last day!" my mother called once again. I threw a notebook, and some pencils into my backpack and ran down the stairs, only realizing when I was halfway down that I was still wearing my PJ's.
"One second, mom! I need to change." In response, I heard a giggle.
"Silly Izuku. You should've changed earlier!" I smiled once again and raced upstairs, leaving my bag on the steps.

I had changed, and was now in my school's uniform and sitting at the table, eating waffles with my mom. Then after some time's silence, my mom popped the question.
"Izuku, have you thought about where you're going for high school?" I almost choked on my waffle and coughed. My hands went to my throat, me still coughing. My mom seemed alarmed, but calmed down after I swallowed and answered,
"I want to go to UA!" with a bright smile, one of the brightest smiles I could muster. But that smile faded. "But it's not like Kacchan's going to let me." My mom's smile faded as well and I somehow knew I had said the wrong thing. She was now frowning.
"Izuku, honey, what was that?" her voice was still gentle as ever, but I felt anger bubbling up inside me. I looked up, and yelled at her.
"IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! LEAVE ME ALONE AND STOP TRYING TO MEDDLE IN MY LIFE!" My throat was raw from the screaming I wasn't used to, and I walked to the counter and drank some water. Mom's eyes followed me. I could see the hurt expression on her face and mentally slapped myself.
"Bye, mom." I said as quietly as I could and put on my shoes, walking out the door, but not before I heard what she said next.
"Izuku, I'm just trying to help."

As Midoriya walked down the path, he felt himself almost overwhelmed with guilt. I shouldn't have lashed out at her like that, he thought. She was just trying to help. Without him knowing, a tear slipped its way down his cheek, and then another. Soon, he was close to bawling.
"Would you look at this! A baby, crying! What do you call that?" he stopped crying and looked up, the wind blowing on the tear stains on his face and sweeping his hair across his face. Kacchan stood in front of him with his usual group of friends, all grinning like they caught a large fish from the river. The one who spoke had bat wings on his back and black horns growing from his head.
"Why, a crybaby, of course!" another replied and Midoriya stood up, watching them and knowing there was nothing he could do. Then Bakugo turned around and said,
"That's enough. He's mine to deal with." they stopped immediately, and watched as Bakugo strolled up to Midoriya and punched him across his face, without activating his Quirk. Midoriya flew across the street and crashed against a wall and slid down, holding the side of his face. He looked up, just in time to receive another punch straight to the face. This time, with the wall behind him, he crashed backwards until he created a dent in the wall itself. Midoriya looked up once again. This time, he saw Bakugo and his friends grinning like savage cats.
"How does it feel to be the trash you really are?" Bakugo asked and lit his fist again, this time slapping his across his face, his explosion leaving stinging flesh in its wake.
"Uhm...Bakugo, we should go. People are heading this way and we'll be late for class." another spoke up. Midoriya looked up, and noted this one, instead of having human ears, had fins. Then Midoriya looked down and realized the boy's hands had flippers between the fingers, and his neck had gills.
"Tch. Stupid Deku." scoffed Bakugo and he slowly walked away with his hands in his pockets, leaving Midoriya behind. He looked up and saw the boy with the fins. He was looking down at Midoriya and something like pity filled his eyes. Before he left, he mouthed,
"I'm sorry."
Midoriya felt a flash of anger. Who did this boy think he was? He didn't want the pity. He stood up, holding the side of his face, and limped off towards class. At the last moment, Midoriya looked back towards where the boy stood.
"You should go, before Kacchan comes back to find you talking with me." Pain seems to enter the boy's eyes, and he mumbled,
"Sometimes I regret becoming friends with Katsuki." hearing this, Midoriya turned around and smiled. Not one of his usual sweet smiles, but one which promised pain and torture. This one was twisted, and revealed his teeth in a snarl.
"It's too late. Once you become friends with Kacchan, you'll never be able to back out again." Midoriya said, and looked back. There was something almost like genuine pain on the boy's face. But he only let out laugh and started to walk away. It was not a laugh of happiness, but a laugh formed in the depths of Hell, and contained nothing but pain and sadness.
"Every time he bullied you, I would stand back and look. I never did anything to you!"the boy said. But Midoriya did nothing except let out another dead laugh and walk away towards his school. Sometimes, it was better to have a heart of stone than have yours broken.

Midoriya P.O.V
What was surprising, even with the little...episode which happened this morning, I wasn't late for class. The teacher had yet to arrive when I walked in.
I slid into my seat but not paying attention to Kacchan, who sat in front of me, I placed my head on the desk and waited for the teach to come I so we could start the lesson. Outside, birds were chirping. They sounded happy. Why could they live a happy life and I couldn't?
Unknown P.O.V
"You know, handyman, you were right. This boy may be worth it. Although, he's depressed and it may take some time to bring out the Villain side of him." one shadow said. It was clear that this was one of the people from yesterday who had been outside Izuku's window.
"Of course I'm right! Well...of course Master is right! You're stupid, Dabi. Master's never wrong!" the second figure seemed pissed, and walked away from the first figure.
"Whatever you say, Tomura. I'm telling you, though. This boy has no Quirk. Go tell the Master that he'll have to give this "Deku" a Quirk." the first figure, now known as Dabi replied, and followed Tomura into an alley, where a purple portal-like thing appeared.
"Master knows, Stitches." replied Tomura, who seemed pissed. Then they both walked into the portal, going somewhere no one knew about.
"Master already knows."

Alright! So now we know who the mysterious figures are Dabi and Tomura Shigaraki! Although, I'm pretty sure most of you guys figured that out during the prologue. After all, who else would have hands all over them and stitches?
