𝐓𝐇𝐄 hunters thought she was prey. Stalking the night with pitchforks and torches, roaring through the forests and at the skies till Dawn took her place on her golden throne. Not one day was she given rest, not one second to breathe. Nights were filled with frenzied shrieks, whilst during the day she struggled with fatigue. This was Royâ's life, by no fault of her own. It was her mothers, for ever loving a sorcerer. Her father had never been in her life; to be candid, she was glad. She feared she'd batter him for passing on this curse. It was a target on her back, a prophecy that forever stained her hands red. She was blamed for sickness and famine, death and depression; faults of others became faults of the Jade Witch.

It was deemed that she was a monster; so she ran. That was how this unfortunate situation began- small minded people caging the wild one trying to soar. In the skies, she could fly wherever she saw fit, but her body could not float for an eternity. Her impulse was to fly, to go wherever her heart desired, but her mind was shrewd, and she knew care needed to be taken.

It was the days that she wasn't careful that death almost clutched her. Wasn't it lucky, that her paths crossed with a blacksmith son with a heart as free as a feather among the clouds?

━━━𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐄 + 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄;

I. royâ, in her past, loathed herself for possessing magic. people named her the jade witch for the hazel hue in her eyes, and swore and spat in her face. overtime, she has found it in herself able to love herself and her powers, and begin to embrace them. when she meets elyan, she is beginning to hone her skills.

II. she loathes her father for passing of these gifts. she believes he is the one responsible for all the wrongs he had done. it is up to you whether you want her to forgive him or for her to continue to loathe.
III. royâ is a very fierce person. she walks between the lines of bravery and foolishness, being very audacious but extraordinarily reckless. she is a reasonable person, however, and is only stubborn when need be. in her heart, royâ just wants to be let free by the world and live the rest of her days without a care in the world. she and elyan can be a bit of a destructive pair, as they leave trouble in whatever is left in their wake. 
IV. they meet whilst both are trying to escape trouble; elyan by bandits, and royâ by witch hunters. they both use their wits about them to escape unscathed. 
V. though he has grown up with uther's laws pressed down on him, elyan does not judge or loathe her. he is no longer in camelot, and is not yet bound to the rule of pendragon. with time, he sees her magic as intriguing.
VI. they are both survivors, but also they are explorers. they enjoy the beauty of nature and are keen travellers. royâ does it more for necessity, but it doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy it. i would imagine they'd go on many adventures together, exploring abandoned citadels or fighting great monsters.
VII. they travel for many moons, and slowly are brought closer. but their short time is brought to a drastic end by the witch hunters, who finally get their hands on royâ. the next time they meet, elyan is a knight and royâ a fugitive of camelot. she is appalled by how he has become nothing more than another cog in the pendragon machine.
VIII. it is up to you whether or not you want to write how their meet as the main plot or as a backstory.

i really liked this plot. i feel like
elyan is a really underrated character,
and people don't give him enough
credit. he is glossed over a little in
the show, so i think most people overlook
him. i think he has a lot of potential
to be interesting. i kinda want to write
this now, but i honestly don't think
i could do it justice.

i'm going to say one thing-
if you want to change the title to
this, go ahead. it was a last
minute thing, so yeah. up to you!
