╰┈˚ · ° .  The meeting was set with the Cullens. The deal was to meet them in a clearing between our territories, but the pack was unwilling to go there in human form, that was why they shifted as soon as it was time to go.

The pack was in formation, Sam as the Alpha leading his wolves from the middle and a step in front to the others. It wasn't easy to trust the cold ones—not even for a matter like this one—our guards were raised high, our instincts triggered the closer we got to them.

They were already to the agreed upon spot. All of them, even Bella.

We stepped from the tree lines, all snarls and growls and sharp fangs from the wolves, and keen eyes and bubbling magic from us girls.

"Keep close to us." Sam spoke through the coven-pack link for us witches to hear.

I suppressed an eye roll that I would have let out in any other situation not as dire as this one, "We know what to do." I replied insted.

The man who we all know was the clan leader, Carlise—with white marble skin and hazel eyes that all his clan shared—stepped forward, opening his arms invitingly as he spoke, "Welcome, I'm glad that you came."

My lips twitched when I noticed the focused look on Edwards face before morphed to one of absolute irritation, "I can't hear them." He revealed it to his adoptive father. "I will not be able to translate their thoughts."

Thankfully with the knowledge that Edward was a mind reader, us witches had created a clever as very detailed and complicated spell to block his gift—or more so, to shield their minds from anyone that didn't have access to the pack link or the coven-pack one—it was a weakness to have him read our thoughts, and we couldn't have that. It had taken us three days to come up with it, delaying the meeting, but we had done it.

"Good job, girls." Sam praised triumphantly, "The spell worked."

"We will do it for you." I spoke, eyes on the leader of the clan. That raised a few eyebrows that we all avoided the curiosity behind it.

"Very well." the man conceded, "We never really introduced ourselves before." He started, a charming smile on his perfectly sculpted lips, "I'm Carlisle, and this is my family. My wife, Esme." he motioned firstly. With a heart-shaped face and soft caramel-colored hair, the woman would look around thirty if she was human. "Rosalie and Emmett." The man was huge, to say it simply, a figure full of hard muscles. Dark brown curls cropped close to his scalp and dimples on his cheeks. The woman was surely the most gorgeous one I had ever laid my eyes upon. Elegant, with blonde curls that looked made of silk and perfect heart shaped lips. "Alice and Jasper." He continued, "He is the one who will teach us all about the newborns." The girls had whimsical vibes with her short height and spiked hair. The man was stoic, blond hair and sharp features that were seen only in carved statues. "Edward," With angular features, straight nose, full lips and golden bronze hair. "And of course, you know Bella." The girl was standing close to Alice, her brown mousy hair tightened at the back of her head, and her hands in her pockets.

"I'm Beatrice." I introduced myself first. Amelia went second, and then Kim followed by Layla. I stalled for a moment, waiting for Sam's nod for me to proceed with the introduction of the pack. A sign of reluctant trust from his part. They hadn't said anything about them coming in phased form after all. "The black wolf is Sam. The Alpha." I started, and then continued by following the pack hierarchy, "Next to him, on his left, there's Jared. Second-in-command." A chestnut colored wolf with a spot of gray surrounding his eyes creating the visual effect of a mask. Between him and Sam there was Kim. "On Sam's left, Paul. Third-in-command." A beautiful wolf with dark silver fur, that was white on the belly and around his eyes. I stood between him and Sam, "Embry next to Jared." I followed, pointing to the wolf with gray fur with black spots where Layla stood next to, "Leah," I pointed to the wolf next to Paul where Amelia stood between the two. Gorgeous white icy fur with orange shades on her ears and a top of her head. "Quil." I motioned for the wolf of full chocolate brown fur, "Cassian." with his coat of golden and the shades of orange around the ears, and off white around the snout. "And Jacob." I finally said. The wolf stood at the end of the formation, his lower status resulting from his insubordination, with a russet colored coat and reddish highlights. Finally, I motioned for the last girl that was with us between Cassian and Leah, "And Maddison but you already knew that."

"Nice to meet you all." With a million dollar smile, the doctor spoke, nodding with his head in greeting towards us. "Jasper has experience with newborns, as said before, he will be the one to teach us how to defeat them."

"Ask them how the newborns differ from us." Sam poised his question for me to voice out.

When I did, Carlisle dutifully explained, "They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of this life."

"Carlisle's right." Jasper took on from his adoptive father, "That's

why they are created. A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army, but no human army could stand against them." And when he stepped too close, the pack was there to growl in warning.

Understanding his error, the vampire retreats a step, continuing his explanation, "Now, the two most important things to remember are, first, never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly.

And second," He waited for what I thought was a more dramatic impact, "Never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that, and you will lose."

He called his brother forth then, "Emmett." The two faced each other ready to fight, "Don't hold back."

"Not in my nature." Emmett replied with a goliarding smile before running towards Jasper to begin the training.

As more of the Cullens paired, the tight formation of the pack loosened slightly to make sure that we could observe and learn as much as we could.

When Maddison distanced herself to speak with her sister, I met with the other girls.

"Edward doesn't like us much." Kim choroused through the coven mental link.

"He knows it was us that made his gift unusable on the wolves." Amelia jested, her lipstick coated lips a slash of red as she smirked. "Oh, how I love that he knows."

"He is looking at us." Layla informed us and contemporaneity, we all turned towards the man.

"Is he trying to read our thoughts?" I wondered, just then feeling his power slamming against my magic.

"Oh yes." Amelia chuckled out loud before narrowing her eyes, and then, suddenly, Edward let out a grunt of pain.

"Edward!" Bella gasped, rushing to his boyfriend to fret all over him as the vampire massaged his temple.

The vampire hissed, baring his teeth in a silent threat before Cassian's golden wolf stepped between us a bit too close to Edward then necessary.

"Don't try it again." Amelia stated to the cold one with an unbothered glance.

The others had stopped, now looking between Edward and us. "What did he do?" Sam asked, taking a protective stance, as if he was to jump into a fight at any moment.

"Tried to force his gift on us to reach our minds." Kim explained with an accusatory glare to the vampire. "Amelia simply pushed him away."

"Tell them the next time he, or anyone else, tries something like that, the deal is broken and we walk away." A growl formed in the alpha's chest.

"Sam-"

Jacob was interrupted by Sam's glare filled with his alpha's power, "They need our help more than we need theirs."

"If you want this deal to continue, you won't try to use your gifts on us. " I voiced out loud, "Next time we will treat it as it is... a clear threat."

Carlisle nodded his head with a tight lipped smile, "Noted, it will not happen again, right, Edwards?" The leader of the clan looked expectantly as his adoptive son.

"Yes." Edward gritted out through clenched teeth. "It will not happen again."

The tension didn't quite leave after that, even when the cold ones returned to the training and the wolves back to observe.

╰┈˚ · ° .  Hours passed of continuous training, we had watched, observed, listened to everything Jasper had to say and teach. It had been an interesting experience, that's for sure, and we had learned much about the difference between vampires and newborn ones.

When the sun threatened to set, only then the training day was called off.

"We will meet here again in a week." Carlies took back over from his adoptive son that had led the entire training session, "Are we still on for that?" Hopefully he questioned, looking between Sam and finally lingering on me as the spokeswoman for the pack and the coven.

I heard the various voices of my friends, hearing what they had to say before Sam gave the final words and the other girls accepted, "Yes. We will see you again in a week's time."

"Good." The man clapped his hands, and slightly bowed his head in respect, "I thank you again for accepting and collaborating with us. I'm sure we will win with our shared efforts."

Sam stepped forward, his nostril flaring, the decision brewing in his mind before he too bowed a fraction—almost imperceptible—before calling with a howl his pack for the retreat.

I noticed Jacob lingering near Bella, Maddison passing them with an eye roll that I couldn't help to be proud of—much better then how heartbroken she used to get before—she was slowly healing from him, from the hurt in her soul that Jacob had caused with the soul-infraction. Breaking their imprint bond had been the right decision, I could see it, and the pack had come to see it too as well—even if more reluctantly—his soul might have chosen hers, but they weren't meant to be together. Sometimes it was just like that.

"Jacob, let's go." I called the boy, waiting for him to leave a last glance at Bella before he walked away.

I still didn't understand if she wanted Jacob or not. She was in a relationship with Edward, but she strang Jacob in her games. She didn't let him go even when her boyfriend was back.

I didn't understand that. She said that she didn't want him but she showed the contrary. I pondered that as I watched her shift nervously under my stare. In the end, I walked away as well with a last look to the family of vampires, disappearing through the woods alongside the pack and the coven.

Hello everyone! 

There will be two training sessions with the Cullens and this one had little to zero drama, which you will see in the next one probably.

 I can't believe that this book is almost done, I will miss all of them so much but for now, let's enjoy the story since the next chapter is GOOD. I hope you'll love it as much as I do..
