โ•ฐโ”ˆหš ยท ยฐ . ย WEDNESDAY WAS USUALLY THE BUSIEST DAY AT THE CLAW. The small bakery counter was filled to the top brimming with fresh pastries. The shop was usually very much busy during the afternoon, with people coming from both La Push and Forks for them. Fridays, on the other hand, were the slowest days. Jared had even started to tidy up the products already on the shelves to cure his boredness.

Fortunately for us, the Spirits of the Art, the local supply store of art and craft, wasn't the busiest place, making the workers as bored as us on fridays. During the long working boring hours of her shift there, Amelia had started the habit of calling to pass the time. Since our employers never minded, we never stopped.

She was blabbering about one of her regular customers that came all the way there from Forks. It was a sad lonely middle aged man that had apparently nothing better to do than talking Amelia's ear off, filling it with gossip from our neighboring town.

The bell on the front doors of The Claws chimed signaling the entrance of a new customer. Jared took that occasion to give his best smileโ€” not even the one crafted only for customer service, a real one, that was how much he was boredโ€” and went to receive the new person.

"Hello, welcome to The Claw, how can I-" His smile fell as he recognized Maddison coming in, making me snort. "Please at least tell me that you are here to buy something." He pleaded at her with his eyes. The guy could not stay still for more than a minute.

"It's nice to see you too, Jar." Maddison said sarcastically, giving the boy an eye roll. She took from the shelf on her left a packet of oreos, throwing them at him with a saccharine smile. "That is all, thank you."

"That was sassy. Good job Maddi." Amelia said through facetime, having witnessed the encounter since I had turned the camera around for her to see. "How is your sister doing?" She then asked. At the confused look in the girl's eyes, I jumped in ready to explain.

"Remember the nosy customer that had a liking for gossip at the Spirit of Art? He came in today and told her about the accident your sister was in. She was just explaining it to me."

"Oh." Maddison nodded her head in understanding."She is fine, not even a scratch."

"What happened?" Jared suddenly curious, jumped on the counter, sitting on it.

"There had been an accident at school. I guy lost control of his car because of the melting ice, he almost hit Bella."

"Oh god."

"But Edward Cullen fortunately jumped in and saved her." She sighed, resting her head down in her arms that laid on the counter. "She has this weird infatuation for him."

"Edward Cullen. That Eduard Cullen?" Jared almost growled out.

Snarking as always, Amelia said "Do you know any other Edward Culled, Jared?"

Rolling his eyes at the girl, the wolves ignored her reply, deciding to continue to talk with Maddison. "How infatuated?"

"A bit too much." She told us with a shake of her head. "And the worst thing is that one minute he seems to want to keep her as far away as possible and then, he is all over her. He is completely sending her mixed signals and just making her weird obsession worse."

"This is dangerous, Maddison." Jared gritted out with a clenched jaw.

"That is kind of hypocritical coming from you, don't you think?" Amelia said. She was right. For us witches it might not be much of a problem to be around shifters, but Maddison was at a much higher risk of getting hurt by them. "We might be natural enemies but that does not mean that we can't be honest. We are probably as dangerous as them. The only thing is that none of us wants to drink her dry just because she is near us."

"That is a big difference, Amelia." Jared scoffed.

"We should just keep an eye on her. The only problem would arise only if he decides to turn her here or if they had been aggressive or directly attacked her." I said.

Jared didn't like that. With a scowl he took the packet of oreo that Maddison had previously thrown at him and scanned it. "4$" he said plainly to the girl, before opening the box and starting eating them.

Rolling her eyes at the immaturity, Maddison still payed before announcing. "She and her friend will come to First Beach tomorrow. Maybe you can unleash your charm on her and make her change her mind about him."

"Good idea. We should definitely go." Jared nodded enthusiastically.

"Are you dumb? I was joking."

"That could actually be a good idea, to be honest. At least to see how much she is obsessed with Edward." I shrugged my shoulders. And not much later, we sent a message on the pack and coven group chat, letting the others know.

โ•ฐโ”ˆหš ยท ยฐ . ย If there was one place at La Push that I would say was my favorite place, it would be First beach. Littered with stones, large driftwoods, tide pools and a strip of sand, First Beach even in the winter with gelid temperature, in the spring and autumn with the wind and rain had the same beauty to it that it had during the summer season.

Kim, Amelia, and I decided to go there ahead of the guys, wanting to meet Maddison and her sister with her friends as soon as possible.

It was raining lightly that day, not wind blowing. Something that upsetted Amelia greatly and that we had to stop her from creating it a couple of times already just the time it took us to get out of her car and towards the place where Maddison was with the rest of the teens of Forks.

"Maddi!" Shouted Kim as soon as we saw the brunette girl, running towards her and literally crashing onto the sand. "I missed you."

"Jesus, Kim." Groaned the girl under the weight of the earth witch. "We saw each other a couple of days ago."

As we approached the girls, who were now laughing as they got up, I noticed Bella and her friends had stopped their conversation and were staring at us.

They had two vans, surfing gear like boards were resting on the sides. Some had already started surfing, others stood around the vans. Three of them had their wet suits on, signaling that they would too get in the water soon. Bella and another girl, on the other hand, had a blanket wrapped around their shoulders and snacks in their hands.

Kimberly, like the sunshine she was, gave them all a bright and somewhat still shy smile, before focusing on the Swan older sibling that she had yet to be introduced to. "You must be Bella. It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Kim. "

"Hi." The girl awkwardly returned her smile, shifting slightly in her seat and gave both Amelia and I nods to greet us.

"Guys, these are my friends." Maddison clapped her hands together trying to dissolve the slightly uncomfortable moment that it had created. "Amelia, Beatrice and, well, Kim." She motioned to each of us. "This is Angela." She pointed to the other girl in the van near Bella. She had for sure hispanic roots, her skin a warmer caramel color and her brown eyes covered by thick oval shaped glass. Chestnut hair in two braids covered by a red beanie and a thick knitted blacked around her, sheltering her from the cold outside. "This is Mike." She continued, pointing at the blonde dude with crystal blue eyes. He was one of the three that was wearing a wetsuit. "Eric." An asian guy with a shaggy haircut. "And Jessica." The girl had a hat over her hair that were tied in a ponytail, white skin and an attitude from the way she blared her emotion through that fake as fuck smile.

"Nice to meet you." Jessica replied with a tight lipped smile.

She stepped closer to her other friend who offered her a bordeaux blanket in the meantime she stayed there before going to surf.

"So you are the Rez girl that stole Maddison from Jacob, uh." The blond guy commented with a teasing laugh, Jessica joining him quickly.

"I'm his twin." Deadpanned Amelia creating an even more awkwards situation.

"And you can have more than just one friend." I added, definitely not helping with that.

Kim slapped her hand over her mouth preventing a laugh as the Forks friend group stared at me and Amelia like we had just dropped the most awkward bomb.

We were an acquired taste.

The two guys had quickly gone to their other friends once their names had been shouted, leaving us girls alone.

We decided to make ourselves more comfortable sitting down on the open van directly in front of the one Bella and her two friends were in.

"Is he your boyfriend?" I asked Angela as I noticed how her eyes drifted toward Eric as he jogged away with his friend.

"What? Who, Eric?" She stuttered slightly through her words, eyes widening. "No, he is not. He is-"

"But you want him to be." Amelia cut her off.

"I mean I keep thinking Eric's going to ask me to prom, then he just... doesn't." Angela revealed with a sigh.

"You could ask him. Take control. You're a strong independent woman." Bella said to her friend trying to make her feel better.

"Yes, I totally support this. If you like him then try to take the first step. Maybe he too is afraid, you know?" Kim added, sending a radiant smile to her.

"I am?" Angela asked, referring to how Bella had called an independent woman.

"You are, Angela. And trust me, he for sure will say yes." Maddison said, trying to encourage her.

"Bella!" Jacob's voice was heard as the Quileute boy jogged towards us, his two best friends, Embry and Quil following closely behind.

"Hi Jacob." Smiling at the boy, Bella said.

There was a fraction of a second where Jacob and Maddi looked at each other before the girl completely locked away ignoring him.

"Girls." The always cheerful Quil Ateara grinned in our direction. "How are you doing?"

"Quil, Embry." Amelia greeted them as the rest of us nodded in their direction.

"Guys, this is Jacob." Bella introduced him to her friends as she snacked on a twizzler.

"Hey guys, how are you doing?" Quickly Jacob said to the two Forks girls. They replied with a quick 'Hi' before the Quileute boy sat on the free space next to Bella, closer than what Maddison probably liked. The jealousy spikes in her emotions were a bright signal of that.

Sharing a look between us witches it was clear that we all had felt that.

"Are you stalking me?"

"You're on my Rez, remember?" Jacob said, and it was crystal clear that he was trying to flirt with her. "Are you surfing?"

"Definitely not."

"Keep her company. Her date bailed." Jessica said testing her friend.

"What date?" Frowning, Maddison asked to her sister, not being in the loop as the other two Forks girls apparently.

"She invited Edward." Jessica explained, giving Bella a look that almost said 'I told you so'

Each one of us Rez kids widened our eyes at that.

"Here?" Kim asked, trying to make it sound much more friendly then probably how she really had wanted to say it.

Embarrassed by what her friend had said, Bella quickly tried to cover it up. "To be polite." she excused.

"I think it's nice she invited him. No one ever does." Just like the sweet girl that I just knew she was, Angela said.

"Because Cullen's a freak." Mike commented coming back just in time with his friend Erik to hear the gossip.

"You got that right." Quil agreed.

Even without knowing the real reason, every Rez kid had beef with the Cullens. With the legends told to us since kids, it was kind of impossible not to. Even if we all thought they were fake.

"You guys know them?" Bella asked.

Embry Call was usually the most reserved out of Jacob's friend group, so when he was the one that answered Bella, it really took me by surprise.

"The Cullens don't come here."

Jacob was quick to shoot his friends a look, shaking his head as if to say to not tell anything else. Bella registers this. It was clear that it had just made her even more curious about the family.

Exchanging looks between Kim, Amelia, Maddison and I, we all thought about one thing.

She was not going to let it go.ย

Hello everyone!

Yes, this chapter follows a bit of the movie plot with Bella at La Push, of course with my own twist to adapt it to my story.

In the books (I think) and the movie the third guy with Jacob at the beach is supposed to be Sam but I changed him. It makes more sense that it's Jake, Quil and Embry, at least for me.

Anyways, thank you for reading this chapter, I'll see you on Thursday!
