โฐโห ยท ยฐ . ย MY SKIN FELT RAW, MY BONES BRITTLE,ย my blood like sandpaper in my veins. My whole body hurted, my head throbbed in pain, but we were almost there. We had a solution now for our problem, a solution that required us to use Maddison as our anchor to the worlds as we ventured through the magic to find the fifth element that wasn't meant to be ours just yet.
"Are you sure?" The Swan girl had her eyes open wide in disbelief, her fingers twitching anxiously, "I am not a witch, I'm not even Quileute."
"Like we said," Kim started, interlacing her hand with one of Maddison's to stop her from the nervous habit, "we don't need a witch, but only someone that we trust."
"How is this going to work?" Emily questioned. "Will she have powers afterwards?
"She will be like a lifeline for us to follow back here, she will not receive powers since she is not a witch to begin with but we can't be sure of what exactly will come later. The aether has not a real power source like the other elements, it's never clear what you get from it. Not like it is with fire or earth for example. What we know is that it will for sure balance the other powers. There are few gifs listed for the Aether, but it can change from coven to coven."
"What was written in grimoire is that the person linking us back here will be connected with the coven in some ways. Someone added a note that said that when they performed this ritual, their person got access to the mind link." Amelia explained.
"And are you girls sure that you can do this?" Jared asked, even now, he had not moved far from Kim, standing behind her and having his arm on her shoulder. The worry and love that I could feel oozing off of him as he stared at his girlfriend was equal parts scary and mesmerizing. Sometimes, I could find myself staring at them for a second too long. For how much I would hate to be paired forever with someone of not of my choosing, it was... a yearning that I couldn't understand.
"Of course we can do it." Amelia scoffed, insulted by the insinuation. Even after the hell day that we went though, even if she still was wrapped around too many blankets too count, her tongue hadn't lost its thorns.
"It's- not. I meanโ" Jared stuttered through the few words, not knowing how to respond to the outraged expression Mia was sending him.
Kim giggled, covering her mouth with her hand, leaning back on the sofa resting her head against him. "She knows what you mean."
"He has a point." Paul grumbled.
My head snapped in his direction, he was pacing back and forth through the living room, hands clenching at his side. Only when I focused on him, I could recognize from his strained expression how anger was rising to the surface. He was getting better with time to manage his issues, but it was a day by day thing. He couldn't be magically good in a week to keep his temper steady.
"Does he?" I raised an eyebrow in his direction, crossing my arms over my chest. I winched slightly at the movement, feeling the muscle there scraping against the bones. I had hoped that I had concealer good, but the way his eyes narrowed, I knew that he had caught it.
"You just spent the last 12 hours screaming Beatrice. And this is not an easy spell, is it?" He had raised to my challenging look with one of his own. For the first time in ten minutes he had stalled his pacing at least.
"Of course it is not an easy spell." I said with what I could only hope was a convincing smile, "but we can do it."
"Is it safe?" Emily cleared her throat, hesitantly speaking between us two.
"Not really." Blurted out Kim before she could have stopped herself.
"Oh thanks a lot, poison ivy." With sarcasm and venom Amelia snarked through a huff of disbelief.
A sheepish look covered the girl's features."Sorry."
"What do you mean it's not safe?"
Replying to my brother, I said, "It can make it worse and unbalance us more." We were not going to mention the other partโ which was us failing to come back from the spell at all, remaining asleep for the rest of our lives.
"But it's our only chance." To what I had said, added Mia.
A second later, without thinking more about it, Maddison nodded her head, "I'm in."
"No."
"Yes." I stated, "It's the only way, Paul."
"Didn't Kim just say that it's not safe? We will find another way."
"There is no other way. We are going to die if we don't do anything!" My anger vanished when I looked at himโ because most of all, it was worrying that his eyes showed even when he acted and spoke like that. "We can do this." I said much softly.
"You have to do this before your next episode if you want a chance for this to work." Old Quil said, raising to his feet, but I couldn't look away from Paul.
With a sigh, Paul's shoulders dropped and his stare snapped away from mine, "Fine." he spat out through clenched teeth, not really on board with the plan.
Things moved quickly after that. We all went outside, the moon showered us with its silver glow, and nature called as our bare feet pressed against the grass.
Before I could join the other girls Paul grabbed my arm preventing me from moving further. It was fear that was hefting off of him, rooting him in place. He looked like was never going to let my hand go.
I let out a breath feeling already emotionally and physically drained from the day, I wasn't going to fight himโ my own treacherous heart that night.
"I don't want one kiss either." I said it like a promise. I was going to be okay, I was going to come back to him. I took the moment of his surprise to step away, not looking back at him in fear of breaking down.
I squeezed Sam's hand, and after helping me down, my brother left a kiss on the crown of my head before stepping back near the others. Helping us they had created a circle of candles around us to our directions, that I would lit as soon as the spell began.
Between us three, in the middle, Maddison layed down, eyes to the moon and fingers buried in the grass to ground herself, and us, one of our hands were touching her, keeping us there with her, anchoring us.
"Ready?"
After a second of inhaling a breath, I replied to my coven mate, "Ready."
"Ready."
And lastly, Maddison echoed, "Ready."
In a second, magic awakened. It flew around us, scenting the air with fresh bloomed flowers and pollen that the unnatural wind carried all around. The lick of the candles lit up, abruptly roaring in a too high flame. Muttered words fell from us three, the Quileute native language flowing easily through the spell.
We continued with what felt like hours before darkness engulfed us whole, and when our eyes reopened, it wasn't the yard of Emily's house that awaited us, but the dark room with flames, crawling ivy and tornadoes on the corners.
Chaos was the right word to describe what we were met with. The room shook as if we were in the epicenter of an earthquake, the wind roared in our ears, slashing against our skin and opening small wounds mixing with the flames that came to life in the corners until their heat sizzled too near for our comfort.
"Is it working?" Kim's words were carried with an echo that resonated all around us, but before any of us could muster a response, with a heavy gasp, a fourth person was brought with us. Maddison.
"Apparently we did something right." Face ashen, and tremors in her lower lip from the magical cold, Amelia replied.
"What is this place?" The human girl's eyes wandered around the room before falling half close as she was about to fall asleep here, "I don't feel good."
"It's because you shouldn't be here." I told her, gulping down my nerves, "We should really move on with the spell before it fails or the room kills us."
"Okay." The anxiety was a living thing in that room at that moment, more so when Kim offered her hands for us to grab, "Come on, we can do this."
"Hopefully."
"Not helping." I gritted out, words directed at the air witch. "We can do it." Probablyโ that, though, I left it unsaid. Once our fingers were interlaced around Maddison, and the magic flowed freeling for the continuation of the spell, silence returned.
We called the aether, slipping loose the chains around the element so that the power could dribble down, drops mixing with our existing magic in a slow and controlled flow.
It was working, I could feel the purple-like colored energy entering my being, but when it was time to return, it felt like my soul was shredded from my body. The pain was almost unbearable.
"Something is wrong." I shouted through clenched teeth.
A scream tore from my throat joining the one of my sisters-witches. Blinding light flashed before our eyes and we had to work hard to not let the other's hand go.
"Don't let go!" Amelia shouted, her hold becoming stronger and somehow weaker at the same time. "Kim, no!"
It was pure luck that as Kim stumbled, falling to keep her hands in ours from the pain, that Maddison had moved quickly to keep her upright. Their hands met and the earth witch was goneโ or at least almost. She continued to appear and disappear as she was still somehow anchored here.
"What?" The human girl muttered confused as she watched the witch.
Oh.
I tried to follow my intuition and grabbed Maddison's shoulder. I felt like I was in a limbo. Corporeal and at the same time not. But I could smell the grass, the cold September air cooling my heated body. I could almost hear the others as if they were a distant echo.
"Touch her too." Kim said to Amelia.
The girl hesitated, too caught in her own mind and fear. But as I became corporeal, I used that fraction of a second to grab her wrist and make her touch Maddison.
Like in a vortex I did know where it was up and down, left and right. Time meant nothing, a few seconds to an eternity passed in there, but finally, finally, my eyes snapped open and I was back in the real world. My magic, even if temporarily, was back to being stable as well as one of the other girls in my coven.
"It worked." It was everything that I could master to say before darkness creepy at the edge of my eyes. Any energy that I had, left me with a breath, my body feeling boneless as I fell, unable to keep me upright anymore. The last thing that I remember were the two arms that caught me before my head could touch the groundโ the warmth and the safety that followed with the scent of embers, leather and the wild forest.
"I'm here, Little Arsonist."

Hello everyone!ย
I hope you liked this new divergence of plot from canon movie plot. As we all know this story focuses on Beatrice and the witches more, so I wanted to show some problems with them too. They aren't perfect and all powerful.ย
ย We are almost in the Mew Moon plot, so expect for that to happen soon! I Can't wait to write the full coven! Embry and Leah too. And of course, Jake and all his drama are waiting for us! (Little spoiler, is a lot!)
I need your help guys!! I was thinking about the epilogue, what would you like to read in it? I was thinking about 10 years later from the last chapter (End of Eclipse because that is where this fic stops!) Would you like to read a future when they all are married and have kids, something else? Give me ideas my lovelies, please!!
Thank you for reading this chapter, I'll see you on Tuesday!
