Some people say life is full of natural and reasonable things and events. But what if life felt completely different than what people told me it was? Why did it feel like I could hear a howling, lingering through the trees in the deep woods near my lakehouse? I could almost feel creatures watching my moves once I stepped outside of my house. I was a young adult, working to pay off my yearly college tuition. I was going to school to be an art teacher. Which meant I needed to know my knowledge on everything art related. Most nights I never got sleep. Being alone made me paranoid, restless, or simply uncomfortable. I was a lost and paranoid soul.

"Christina? Earth to Christina!" Lola was waving her hands in front of my face while standing up. I shook my head and looked up to Lola with confused eyes. "Class is over?" I asked, looking around the classroom and seeing it empty with a blank whiteboard down below by the professors podium.

"You weren't sleeping, but you were dozing off while Mr. Jenkin's started his closing lecture." Lola paused, looking down to me with a sad expression.

"Are you sure moving in to your mother's old lakehouse was a good idea? You seem more tired these days, you also seem to be more paranoid." Lola explained again, I didn't even know how to respond towards her explanation which was exactly how I felt.

"I'm fine Lola, don't worry." I simply answered.

Grabbing my shoulder bag and stuffing my binder and notebook inside after zipping it up. I start walking down the staircase and exit the class. I walked through the halls and looked at a worried friend besides me. "We should hangout this weekend! Maybe a trip!" Lola suggested, I rolled my eyes and kept walking. "What's the harm in it anyway? Where would we take a trip to?" I asked Lola curiously. It was almost summer break, and my college classes were almost completely over. Which means I would get my degree and be able to become an art teacher.

"You remember my sister Lucy?" Lola asked, I nodded my head. I've never met Lola's sister, but she talked about Lucy alot. Lucy seemed to be a caring sibling.

"Lucy was talking to me about a wedding happening, she and the partners were invited. And they are welcoming more guests. Especially since I'm one of her family members, I would love to go. But I don't want to leave you here all alone." Lola sighed, grabbing onto my shoulder and shaking me a little.

I could only sigh myself. "I couldn't possibly intrude on a wedding. I'd feel terrible!" I said, but Lola was right. I would be here all alone. I no longer had a family, and I had no friends but Lola.

"Christina!" Lola said suddenly, stopping in front of me to stop our movements. "I want you to come, because I don't want to worry about you while I'm gone. How about I ask the groom myself if you may come? If he says yes, will you come?" Lola asked, hopeful eyes staring into mine. I let out a controlled, but heavy exhale. "Fine, only if he allows me to." I simply said, moving aside from Lola's arms and walking out into the fresh air outside.
