❝You try to kill your demons, but they still come back, with twice much force like last time❞

My hips swayed lightly to the music that played loudly on my phone, as I searched for a vintage dress. The volume was turned up high and my ears felt like they would bleed out, as I had my headphones on.
Tonight was another dance which I chose to go to. Everyone was planning on going, despite that Alaric's alter ego is hiding the last stake to kill the originals, and that Klaus is here and stalking my friends.
Lately, that's all he's been doing, beside asking about the stake. That's all his family is talking about and it's annoying, since Rebekah took over the dance and changed the theme, so I'm stuck last minute shopping. And sadly, there was absolutely nothing in my closet that looked fit for a 20s dance.
As if a blessing from god my phone buzzed.
I looked down at it and saw it was a text for me to open my door. I froze my movements and reread the text, going downstairs and opening it to see an all too familiar face. "Hello sweetheart."
Forget what i said. It's the devil himself that decided to stop by my door when I opened it. Sorry, I mean Klaus.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, taking out my headphones. He smiled at my attire, which was just some sweatpants and an plain blue T-shirt.
"Are you going to the dance later?" He questioned, ignoring what I asked. I cross my arms, nodding, "Well, would you like to accompany me?"
"Last time we spoke, you manhandled me like some ragdoll, Bedford hitting my head against the bench." I seethed, the memories of that night coming back, "So, if you'll excuse me, I have to look for a dress for my date tonight."
"I have a dress I could lend you." He offered and I shot him a look, "Tomorrow is my last night in Mystic Falls."
"You're leaving?"
"There's no reason for me to stay. All the stakes are burned and my mother and Finn are dead, so, " Klaus shrugged my heart dropped a little.
"Okay, well, I would love to be the first to see you depart from us, so I'll gladly go. With Dylan." I grinned widely, seeing him smile back, smugly. "Now how about that about the dress?"
"You're coming with me to get it, sweetheart."

"The only way this dance would be better if the punch bowl was spiked." Dylan chuckled, holding my hand as we walked into the danced. I tried not to notice it, but it was literally noticeable as he caressed it gently!. Music played and people jumped around to it, bright smiles on their face.
"Like Caroline would let that happen." I snorted, fixing m headband with my left hand. When I went with Klaus to his house of horrors, he procrastinated for an hour by asking about Dylan before handing it to me. Damon had told me numerous times on how Klaus has feelings for me, but attacking me doesn't show it. And either way, he's still dangerous to my friends and I.
I see my friends with their dates, including Stefan and Elena. I was glad about Stefan turning his humanity back on and is no longer hellbent on kill Klaus because I felt I would kick his ass if he continued.
"Let's dance." He smiled when I nodded, letting him take me to the dancefloor where everyone bounced around. The music begin to slow down, which meant we were stuck slow dancing. He shyly placed his hands on my hips as I laid my arms around his neck, swaying to the music.
"So, about that kiss?" I trailed off, not knowing if it was good timing. Every time we were together, we never talked the kiss. I'm not sure if he was holding back for me or if I was doing it for him.
Dylan was about to answer, but got disrupted by Klaus, "Mind if I cut in?" Dylan turned and looked at Klaus questioningly, so Klaus walked up to him, holding his shoulders, "Why don't you take the night off, mate?" Then I realized he was compelling Dylan.
"What did you do?" I snarled, gripping Klaus's suit jacket as Dylan walked away, not look back.
"What? I'm just having fun!" Klaus joked, "It's not like I compelled him to jump off a cliff." I huffed and begin to walk away, but Klaus grabbed my arm, pulling me towards his chest, "Dance with me."
"I think I'll pass." I turn away, however, he makes my chest collide with his. A smirk spread across his lips as he leaned down to my ear.
"Do you prefer me to tell your precious Damon and Stefan on how you know Alaric is going to die?" He whispered. I don't know why I tell him things. He's the devil's spawn.
"I don't know if that's true!" I defend, "Why do you have to prove you're the alpha male?" I gritted, growing agitated.
"I don't have to prove anything, sweetheart. I am the alpha male." I rip myself away from his hold, but he pulls me back, "Don't make a scene."
"Leave me alone and then I won't." I seethed, "Actually, leave all my friends alone!"
"Why must you be so stubborn?" He laughed dryly. "Despite all the threats and the blows to your head, you still fight for them."
"The only way I will stop fighting is when I'm dead; and the only reason I'm dead is because I saved and protected my friends." I tell him seriously and he looks surprised by it.
"A warrior, huh?" He asked and I shook my heads, looking at him, not realizing we were dancing.
"I'm no warrior. Just a teen who would do anything for her friends." And then we keep quiet as he turned me. I stopped fighting him on dancing because I knew I couldn't keep up a fight with a guy who is three times my size.
"I think you would enjoy coming with me." He whispered, almost in a hush voice, "I would have invited you earlier, but seeing that you were three seconds away from slamming the door in my face gave me my answer." He laughed, "You may not want to go now since you're too busy saving lives like a superhero, but I know in a couple of years, you'll find me and we'll explore the world together. You'll understand that I can give you more than that guy or the next." He said, glancing at Tyler who stood on the other side of the room. He was watching us dance an most likely listening to our conversation.
"Klaus-"
"I can show you what the world has to offer." He interrupted, looking down at me. For a split second I thought this whole speech was genuine and sentimental, but I had to face the cold hard facts, so I let out a scoff, making him breaking away from me abruptly, his expression changing cold. "Mark my words, Rowan, a small town boy and a small town life won't be enough for you. And I bet you already know that deep inside, past that strong exterior."
He brushed past me, leaving me speechless.

"I can go pass the barrier. I can get Elena and Alaric and get out of there." I suggest, but all of them executed the plan.
"So you can get killed? Don't be stupid, Ro." Tyler spoke.
"So, Matt and Jeremy are going? What kind of sense does that make?"
"A lot of sense, because you aren't going to get hurt." Klaus huffed, tired of debating with me. Tyler let's out a low scowl, I guess not liking how Klaus is joining in our the conversation.
"What if they get hurt? Who will that be on?"
"It won't be on you, Rowan. Now drop it." Damon grunted. They were all beginning to get tired of me constantly arguing against them. I let out a sigh and leave the room. I have to do something. I can pass the barrier too, so I can't just sit here and wait until someone comes back alive.
Quietly, I take off my heels and quickly make me way down the hall and towards the exit. I look back, just in case, however, I still bump into a hard force. "Where are you going?" I look up at Klaus and see his jaw clenched.
"I hate sitting around and being told to wait. It's not my forte." I shrug, seeing we're were almost by the boarder.
"You're not leaving."
"I'm not staying either!" I exclaimed, slowly switching places, hoping he doesn't realize, "I'm not going to be trapped in here, Klaus," I say and step outside of the barrier, "And you can't make me."
Klaus looked bewildered as I stepped out, but replaced it with a furious face, "Rowan, if you don't come back here-"
"What, you'll ground me? Lock me up in a tower and take away my visiting rights?" He kept his mouth shut and I smirked, "I'll see you guys there when you get out."
I quickly run towards the woods, ignoring how twigs and pebbles stabbed at my foot. I ran to the Salvatore preserve, already seeing Jeremy and Matt walking up to Esther with their weapons.
Esther sees me ahead and looks at the boys, "How foolish of you." She sighed and raised her arms and making their bodies turn, weapons pointing at me.
"Matt drop the gun!" Jeremy yelled, and I grow scared as I know they can't control themselves.
"I can't control it!" Matt shouted back and I hold back my tears, praying I won't die. Why does Klaus always have to be right? My body shook as I seen the frighten looks on their face.
"Esther stop it!" Elena screeched and before I know it, I let out an involuntary scream as Alaric stabbed Esther. And that's all I remembered before everything became black and all I heard was faint calls.
