v. the noble truth
Chapter five | Rose
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Adelaide strutted out of her room after finishing getting dressed for the day. She passed Mira's bedroom but paused her steps upon seeing the closed door.
She listen to hear anyone around the house but was met with complete silence.
She knocked on the cream coloured wood. "Mira, you awake?" Again, it was silent.
Confused with the quietness Adelaide opted for going in. Her frown only deepened when she saw the empty room accompanied with the made bed.
She quickly pulled out her phone while walking out of the room. Tapping Mimi's contact and bringing the phone to her ear, she waited for the ringing to stop and the voice of her best friend to pop up. She was only met with a voicemail.
"Mimi, I swear to god if you don't pick up I will hunt you down and kill you myself. Even if you end up coming back. Where the hell are you?" Was the message Addie left as she walked down the stairs.
She scrolled through her phone to find Stefan's contact which she had only added to her phone yesterday.
The line rang a few times before a voice was heard from the other side of the phone.
"Adelaide?" Stefan answered,
"Stefan!" Addie exclaimed in relief. "Thank god you answered."
Stefan frowned on his side, "What wrong?"
"Have you seen Mira?"
"Not since last night." He replied, worry rising. "Why?"
Addie ignored his question, needing her own answered first. "Did she drop you home after me and Damon left?"
"No, I left after I talked to Elena." Stefan sighed, "I assumed she had already left as well."
The blonde squeezed her eyes shut while rubbing her forehead. The only thing on her mind was where the hell her best friend was.
"Adelaide, what is going on?"
"Mira isn't home. Her bed is made so I'm pretty sure she didn't sleep in it. I don't think she came home at all."
"How do you know she hasn't gone out? She could of made her bed and forgot to tell you she was leaving. Adelaide she's probably fine." Stefan tried to assure.
Addie let out a groan in annoyance. "I know Mira almost better than anyone, Stefan. Let me tell you, she doesn't just disappear without telling me where she is going. Somethings wrong and I know it."
"Okay, okay, come over. We will figure something out."
Adelaide wasted not time hanging up on the Salvatore and rushing to meet up with him. Worry for Mimi's sudden disappearance leaving a sick feeling stirring in her chest.
━━━━━━━━
Elena had begun to stir when she felt herself being carried. She let out a groan as she was placed on a couch in a abandon mansion.
She looked up at her capturer, a man with greasy dirty blonde hair stood over her, taking off his jacket and glasses.
"What do you want?" Elena whimpered while the man untied the ropes around her wrist. He only shushed her.
"Please, I'm hurt." She pleaded,
"I know." The mystery man nodded, suddenly veins appeared under his eyes. "Just a taste."
Elena gasped and squeezed her eyes shut readying to feel pain, but he was stopped him by another unfamiliar vampire.
"Trevor. Control yourself." A brunette woman with a British accent, scolded.
"Buzz kill." Trevor rolled his eyes and walked away, leaving the pair.
Elena looked at the woman cautiously. "What do you want with me?"
She was ignored while the vampire tilted her head at her. "My god, you look just like her."
"But I'm not. Please, whatever you-"
"Be quiet!" The vampire quickly snapped.
"But I'm not Katherine. My name is Elena Gilbert; you don't have to do this." Elena pleaded again, slowly standing from the couch.
"I know who you are, I said be quiet." She spoke warningly.
"What do you want?" Elena questioned, only to be backhanded by the woman. Landing the girl back onto the couch.
"I want you to be quiet."
The woman turned upon hearing her friend, Trevor, walk back in. To her shock and confusion, he was carrying another girl. Unbeknownst to them that had just kidnapped Mira Emberson, and were about to start something said girl had been running away from for a millennium.
"Who the hell is that?" She inquired,
Trevor sat down the brunette next to Elena on the couch, tightening the ropes around her hands and feet.
"She was with the doppelgänger." Trevor answered,
The woman gave him a glare, "And why did you take her?"
Trevor sighed as he turned to his friend. "He had drawings of her," he answered, vaguely.
"What?"
"Klaus had drawings of this very girl, back in 1492. I had seen them when I walked into one of the rooms all those years ago."
The woman's eye widened at the information. "Who is she?"
"I don't know who she is or what she means to Klaus. Neither him or Elijah liked talking about her or why he drew her. But I'm quite certain she was very important to him."
"And you think kidnapping her is going to get us forgiveness?" She lifted a brow in disbelief.
Trevor threw up his hands. "I don't know, Rose. I was shocked and panicked, okay."
Rose exhaled a deep breath. "Why is she still tied?"
"She's a vampire. I've been injecting her with doses of vervain, so she shouldn't be able to escape." He glanced at Mira. "It took almost two whole bottles to actually get her down. She's quite strong."
"Well, if she knows Klaus than she's probably old and will probably kill us the first chance she gets." Rose stated, "But, It's too late now, maybe she'll be more useful than the doppelgänger."
━━━━━━━━
Mira groaned as the unconsciousness slowly wore off. Her head was pounding, her wrists were burning and her neck was aching. She tried to lift her hand to rub the weariness from her eyes, only to hiss as the burning sensation somehow worsened.
leisurely she opened her eyes, adjusting to dull lights that were on while it was still particularly dark in the dirty house. She looked down at her wrists and saw the tight rope wrapped around them and the red markings appearing on her skin.
"Vervain." She spat, in annoyance. Realizing her kidnappers must of been injecting her with the vampire anti liquid considering she felt so dreary.
She had been drinking vervain here and there for years just in case someone ever tried to use it against her, but she stopped after a while knowing no vampire could compel her or anything like that so it was rather pointless.
She finally started to take in her surroundings. Dust, dirt and cobwebs covered majority of the large living room she had been left in, slightly ripped curtains covered all windows to keep any sunlight out, lightbulbs scattered around the room, weirdly still working. The wooden walls were chipped and the roof looked to be caving in.
The hybrid frowned upon hearing a whimper from beside her, glancing to the left side of the couch she saw Elena waking up.
"Elena." She whispered softly, not trying to scare the girl.
The Gilbert muttered incoherent words before squinting her eyes open, looking straight at the older girl. "Mira?"
"Yeah, yeah, it me."
Elena slowly rose into a sitting position, "What's happening?"
Mimi shrugged, "Was kind of hoping you could tell me."
"There's two of them." The doppelgänger muttered as her hazy memories came back.
"What?"
"The people who took us. There's two, a man and a woman, vampires." Elena informed,
Before Mira could reply they heard their kidnappers.
"So you called him?" The two girls heard from another room, looking at each other in confusion.
"No, I called one of his contacts." Another voice, a woman—Rose, answered. Neither sounding familiar to Mira at all. "You know how this works."
"Did you or did you not get the message to Elijah?" The male questioned again.
Ironically, Mira had stopped listening as she watched Elena slowly stand up, which wasn't a good choice because she missed the most important part of the two unknown vampires conversation.
Elena went to try and undo the ropes around Mira's wrist but the hybrid shook her head knowing it was useless, she wouldn't get that knot undone anytime soon. Elena raised her finger indicating for her to wait as she tipped toed out of the room.
Mira rolled her eyes and leaned back on the couch, waiting for Elena to get caught. And just begun listening to her capturers conversation once again.
"That's it, Trevor. He either got it or he didn't. We just have to wait." Rose sighed.
'Who the hell were they talking about?' Mira wondered, unbeknownst she had missed them say the name of someone who used to be so dear to her.
"It's not too late. We can leave the girls. We don't have to go through with this." Trevor continued voicing his doubts.
Rose wasn't nearly convinced. "I'm sick of running."
"Yeah? Well, running keeps us from dying." Trevor retorted.
Rose glared at him, "Elijah's old-school. If he accepts our deal, we're free."
Mira's whole world froze as her throat tightened and her stomach twisted. Heading thumping as she inhaled a sharp breath.
Elijah? She didn't want to believe they were talking about the man who used to be a second older brother to her. She didn't want to believe these two strangers were about to make everything she had done to stay in hiding for the past millennium a complete waste of time.
She didn't want to believe the second oldest Mikaelson brother was going to come to this abandon house and find the girl his siblings loved so much—who they also believed was dead—actually alive and a vampire just like the rest of them.
Mira thoughts faded for a minute when she heard a creak. Wincing as she reliazed Elena was caught.
"How dumb can she get?" Mira mumbled to herself.
"You." Rose snapped at the human. "There's nothing around here for miles. If you thing you're getting out, you're wrong. Understand?"
"Who's Elijah?" Elena asked, curiously after hearing the name.
"He's you're worst nightmare." Rose deadpanned.
"More like a minor nightmare that leads straight to my worst." Mimi muttered to herself once again.
━━━━━━━━
Mystic Falls High School
After Adelaide met up with Stefan at his school instead of his house. The Salvatore informed her Elena was all so missing. The two soon called Damon who also came to the school.
Both Addie and Damon had told Stefan about Katherine's warning when they locked her in the tomb and now—trying to be the hero he was—Stefan wanted to let Katherine out in exchange for information. Which Adelaide was completely against.
The two soon found Bonnie to find out what she could do.
"I can't undo the tomb spell. Even if I wanted to. It took both me and my Grams to undo it the first time." Bonnie explained to the two vampires who each had someone they were worried about.
"But I can open the door, right? I can talk to her?" Stefan inquired,
"Yes, you can but I'm telling you Stefan, the bitch isn't giving us anything." Adelaide huffed,
"Damon and Addie are right, she won't give you anything, not without something in return." Bonnie shrugged.
Adelaide raised a brow at the use of her nickname but didn't speak on it.
"But Bonnie I have to do something. I have no idea who has Elena. Adelaide hasn't heard a thing from Mira. We have no idea where they are."
"Please, Bonnie. She's my best friend and Elena's yours." Adelaide begged, desperation swarming in her eyes.
Bonnie sighed at both vampires pleading looks. "What if there was another way to find them?"
Bonnie came up with the idea of a tracking spell. Hoping both girls were together since they could only track Elena and not Mira, using Jeremy's blood.
And Stefan and Bonnie knew if they found Elena and not Mira that the blonde would soak the town in blood. Starting with the doppelgänger they both cared about.
Jeremy cut his palm and dropped his blood on the map they had set out in Alaric's classroom. Bonnie began chanting a spell as the blood trailed to a location.
"There. She's there." Bonnie pointed to the spot on the map.
"That's three hundred miles away." Jeremy explained.
"No, Bonnie. We need a more exact location than that." Stefan said.
"That's as close as I can get." Bonnie sighed,
Adelaide rolled her eyes at the Salvatore. "Hey, be thankful you got at least that."
"We can map it, aerial view will show us what's around there, help us narrow down the area." Jeremy enlightened.
Stefan nodded, "Perfect. Call me with whatever you find."
"No, no, I'm coming with you!" The younger Gilbert exclaimed.
Adelaide scoffed, "Please, no."
"No Jeremy, you're not." Stefan firmed.
Adelaide tuned them out as she saw more blood drop onto the map. Looking up she saw it fall from Bonnie's nose who wiped it with a confused expression.
"Are you okay?" Addie whispered.
Bonnie smiled and nodded in assurance, although she too didn't know why that was happening.
"You two go back to your house just in case. I'll call you the minute I find her." Stefan declared.
"Well, you can't do this alone." Jeremy fought.
Adelaide threw her hands up, "What am I, a ghost?"
Suddenly the classroom door open and the older Salvatore appeared. "He's not. Let's go."
"You're coming with us?" Stefan asked with raised brows.
Damon narrowed his eyes. "It's Elena." He than turned to Adelaide. "And hopefully Mira."
"She better be there or your all gonna know first hand what Adelaide Rymer's hell's like. Or maybe what life's like with out the doppelgänger you all care about." Adelaide spoke, stoically. Showing she was completely serious.
She brushed passed Damon, walking out. Leaving everyone taken aback from her declaration.
━━━━━━━━
Mimi hadn't moved from the couch, the vervain still talking a toll on her from the amount her kidnappers had injected her with.
Although a part of her was still in shock of thinking her secret was about to be spilled to one of the family she hadn't seen in a thousand years and she had no way of escaping.
Elena on the other hand wouldn't sit still, following Rose around and asking a million and one questions. Mira understood why she asking things; considering they had been kidnapped and had no real idea what was happening—but apparently the girl was very persistent and despite never getting answers she just kept asking.
"Why are we here?" Elena asked Rose who was shuffling around with things on a desk.
Rose didn't spare a glance, "You keep asking me these questions like I'm gonna answer them."
"Why won't you?" Elena retorted.
"Maybe because when you get kidnapped, the kidnappers aren't really big on giving out information." Mira said, sarcastically. Catching the small smirk that appeared on Rose's face.
"That's another one." Rose said to Elena.
Elena ignored the annoyance both supernaturals were feeling. "You got us, okay? It's not like we can go anywhere. The least you can do is tell me what you want with me."
Rose continued moving around the room, looking to be cleaning. "I personally want nothing. I'm just a delivery service."
"Well, I'm not a package." Mira scoffed from her seat.
"Delivery to who? Elijah?"
Once again, Mira took a shaky breath upon hearing the name.
Rose on the other hand chuckled, "Two points to the eavesdropper."
"Who is he? Is he a vampire?" Elena continued.
"He's one of the vampires, the originals." Rose answered.
Mira rolled her eyes considering that was exactly what she was. And if they hadn't inserted multiple bottle of vervain into her and tied her hands and feet up, she'd have both their hearts laying on the floor. Which is exactly what she was going to do the second she was free.
Elena's brow furrowed, "What do you mean the originals?"
"Again with the questions. Haven't the Salvatores been teaching you your vampire history?"
"Seriously, why not duct tape her mouth?" Mira questioned.
Rose glanced at her, "There an idea."
"So you know Stefan and Damon?"
"I know of them." Rose explained. "A hundred years back, a friend of mine tried to set me up with Stefan. She said he was one of the good ones. I'm more of a sucker for the bad boys though but I digress."
"You'd probably go more for Damon than." Mimi mumbled.
Elena went back to the former subject. "Who are the originals?"
Rose finally turned to the Gilbert. "Trevor and I have been running for 500 years. We're tired, we want it over. We're using you to negotiate ourselves out of an old mess."
Mira bitterly smiled to herself. "Try hiding for a thousand." She whispered to herself, but Rose heard it, throwing her a curious yet confused look.
"But why me? Why her?" She pointed to Mira.
"Because you're a Petrova Doppelgänger. You're the key to breaking the curse." Rose answered. "As for your friend, I can't even answer that. Something tells me only she can."
"Nuh, uh, we are not friends. Hardly know each other." Mimi deadpanned.
Elena's frown deepened, "The curse? The sun and the moon curse?"
Rose rolled her eyes. "Oh, you do know your history."
"Hardly." Mira groaned,
Elena turned to her. "Did you know about this?"
"This and that." Mira shrugged, indifferently.
"What do you mean I'm the key? The moonstone is what breaks the curse."
"Yeah, no. The moonstone binds the curse, it's just a key. While the sacrifice breaks it." Mimi explained.
"You seem to know a lot." Rose raised a brow at her.
"A lot more than you sweetheart."
"The sacrifice?" Elena breathed out,
"The blood of the doppelgänger. You're the doppelgänger. Which means, in order to break the curse you're the one who has to die."
Mimi shook her head, "I swear doppelgängers are literally born to just die."
━━━━━━━━
"Tell me more." Elena demanded.
They had been in silence for a while, since Elena needed a moment to take in what she had learnt. But it wore off quite quickly.
"Captivity has made her pushy, eh?" Trevor strolled into the room. "What do you want to know doppelicious?"
Mimi rolled her eyes at the man, she really wanted him dead.
Elena turned to him, "Who are you running from."
"The originals." Trevor answered, vaguely.
'You have one sitting ten feet from you' Mira wanted to say.
"Yeah, she said that. What does that mean?"
"The first family, the old world." Trevor explained, "Rose and I pissed them off."
Rose hummed and gave him a look.
"Correction, I pissed them off, Rose had my back and for over half a millennium, they wanted us dead."
"Old vampires tend to work like that." Mimi smirked.
A three gave her a confused look.
"What did you do?" Elena inquired yet again.
"He made the same mistake countless others did: he trusted Katerina Petrova." Rose answered,
"Katherine."
"The one and only, the first Petrova Doppelgänger."
Mira stifled a laugh at that.
"I helped her escape her fate and now I've, sorry, we've been marked ever since." Trevor said,
"Which is why we're not gonna make the same mistake again." Rose told them,
Trevor glanced at Mimi, "What I'd like to know, is who you are."
She gave him an unimpressed look. "You kidnapped me. Shouldn't you already know that?"
"How do you know the originals?"
"How do you know that I know them?" She snapped back.
"They had drawings of you all those years ago. I'd seen them but they never talked about you or what they meant. There had to be almost hundreds in just one room."
Mimi frowned, "That's not creepy."
"Seriously, who are you?" Rose queried,
"Someone that's going to decapitate your heads when I get out of these restraints. And unlike the originals you've encountered with—I won't give you time to run."
Both vampires glance to one another, while Elena looked between them all.
"Other than that, I'm Mira." She shrugged innocently.
"Mira? Like—"
"The deadly, vampire, she-devil—Mira Delgado? Yep." She nodded.
Swallowing their fear because from the look in Mira's eyes she was dead serious. Trevor and Rose realized they may have just made their second mistake with another evil supernatural. Both walking out without another word.
Elena looked at Mira with furrowed brows. "What was that—"
"Don't." Mimi snapped, "Not another word from you."
━━━━━━━━
Mira and Elena both sat on either sides of the couch once again, both in deep thought. Elena think about the curse while Mira was thinking about Elijah.
Both terrified for different reasons. Their thoughts snapped when the heard a crumpling noise under Elena's leg. Glancing to each other in confusion as Mimi found a folded piece of paper.
Stefan, Adelaide and Damon
Are coming for you.
-B
Mira smiled and than frowned knowing Adelaide would be worried sick about her.
She hoped they make it before Elijah or her best friends—her family, lose her for good.
Though Mimi couldn't help but be amused that Elijah would be the first Mikaelson she would see in a thousand years out of all of them.
She couldn't help the small smile that found its way onto her face as she thought about their former sibling like relationship.

Flashback
1000 years ago
"Miralette, I fear this is a bad idea."
The teenage brunette girl huffed, "Lijah, how many times must I tell you to use my nickname? And why must fun things be such bad ideas to you?"
Elijah Mikaelson stared down at his brothers girl, whom he saw as a little sister, quite unimpressed. "If you wanted to do something fun, you should of brought Kol."
"Kol doesn't know how to use a bow and arrow." Mimi shook the bow that was situated in her left hand.
Elijah sighed at her stubbornness. "Our fathers would be rather furious if they saw you practicing using a bow, especially with me teaching you. You know they say weapons are for men only, it is a rule."
"Well, I believe rules are meant to be broken. Besides, I don't care what our fathers think. And since I wish to master the bow and arrow, I will do so, with or without your help. So, if you insist on sticking to your annoying nobleness, leave me be." Mira spoke indifferently.
She was met with silence, so she turned to see Elijah pinching the bridge of his nose.
"You going to help me or not?" She asked with an adorning smile and her big Hazel eyes pleading silently.
Elijah furrowed his brows, trying his hardest to resist the look but eventually broke. "Fine, but if we are caught you will be taking the blame."
Mira gasped in fake offence. "Why me? You are the older of us two."
"Miralette." He warned, with a small faux glare and his lips twitching upwards.
"Kidding." The brunette giggled. "But seriously, why must you use my full name every time?"
Elijah's frown turned into a small smirk. "Because it annoys you."
Mira rolled her eyes, "Boys."
"Do you insist on whining or hitting the target?" Elijah inquired,
Mira hushed him as she turned towards a tree that held up a target which was around 100 feet away. She lifted the wooden bow, nocking the arrow into position. Her left eye shut as she lined up her target before releasing the arrow.
The pair watched as the shaft flew through the air, landing in the red outline of the target.
Mira groaned in annoyance for not hitting the centre, while Elijah frowned.
"Have you been practicing without me?" The older boy inquired.
Mira shrugged, "Sometimes."
"Miralette, that's dangerous. What if you were hurt? You shouldn't wander the woods alone." Elijah scolded,
"Calm down, it was during the day and I was fine. No need to worry, I've been wandering the woods for a long time." Mira giggled at his concern. "I can protect myself, Elijah."
The Mikaelson's brows pulled together. "And what if one day you are not able to?"
"Well than, let's pray you are there to save me." Mira humoured.
Elijah shook his head, seriously, "I will always be there to save you, Mimi."
Mira smiled softly at the use of her nickname. "Do I have your word?" She mocked, easing the slight tension.
"Always." Elijah smiled.
"I will hold you to that, Mikaelson." She promised.
Elijah chuckled, "of course you will, Emberson."
He than handed her another arrow. "Now, hurry up and hit the bullseye before our brothers come and find us."
Mira gave a nod, lining her bow and arrow up once again. This time after letting go of the arrow, she hit her target.

Present; 2010
Elena and Mira sat in their spots, silently watching Rose move around the room once again. They had made sure to hide the note from the vampires.
Trevor suddenly rushed into the room, a panicked look on his face. "He's here! This was a mistake."
Mira's heart rate sped up at the words. She couldn't help but wonder if this was it. After everything, her simple and slight chaotic life ends like this. She was about to be thrown back in to Mikaelson drama, a thousand years later.
"No, I told you I would get us out of this. You have to trust me." Rose tried to calm him.
Trevor's panic only heightened. "No! He wants me dead, Rose!"
Rose only pointed at the two brunettes on the couch. "He wants them more."
"I can't do this. You give them to him, he'll have mercy on you but I need to get out of here."
Rose moved closer, taking his hands into her. "Hey! What are we?"
Trevor took see breaths as he answered, "We're family, forever."
Mira couldn't help the sympathy that the tiny human part of her felt as she watched them.
Although before she didn't understand why Rose had given up her freedom for him, she knew she would of done the same for her brother, Adelaide or Elliana. She once would of done the same for the Mikaelson siblings as well.
Suddenly loud knocks were heard from the front door. All supernaturals in the room froze. Mimi felt like she could throw up.
Elena frowned as she watched the vampires. "You're scared."
Rose ignored her, turning back to Trevor. "Stay here with her and don't make a sound. And untie Mira." She quickly left up the stairs to greet the man that had the skin of everyone in the room crawling.
Shakily Trevor walked over to Mira, "If I do this, you mustn't run." He spoke lowly. He pulled out a syringe and quickly injected her with more vervain.
She groaned, "and to think it was starting to ware off." She held up her hands after he had put the syringe away. "Get these bloody things off me."
He hissed as his hands came in contact with the vervain soaked ropes, breaking them and quickly dropping them to stop the burning.
Mimi examined the red markings on her wrist and ankles with a frown, lifting her gaze to the man in front with a glare.
"Asshole," She spat.
He ignored her as he begun pacing once again. Mira couldn't even bring herself to listen to the conversation that was about to take place upon hearing the door open.
"Go over there." Trevor pointed to a couch in the corner of the room, looking at Mira.
She rolled her eyes, "Why?"
"Just do it."
She huffed, "You're lucky I'm one for the dramatic effect."
Mira sat down and crossed her legs acting nonchalantly but she was honestly just trying to stop the shaking. Elena, who was now also pacing, looked at her with a worried glance and she tried to muster a reassuring smile.
They all heard the footsteps getting closer and closer. Mimi felt her dead heart beat faster than she had in a long time. While she thought she would never have to come fast to fast with her past ever again, it was now seconds away from being right in front of her.
Elena gave Mira one more glance before quickly turning around, while the girl was frozen as she stared back. Not wanting to turn her gaze to the man that was now standing on top of the staircase, not wanting it all to be real.
Slowly Mimi turned her head and an inaudible left her lips as they parted in shock. Her eyes widened not believing he was there after all this time. Elijah Mikaelson, someone she once called her brother who than became a stranger was about to know she was never dead.
He stood on the staircase staring straight at Elena while she shakily stared back. He hadn't taken notice of the other presence in the corner. Suddenly he appeared in front of the human who only gasped in shock.
He slowly leaned closer to sniff her. "Human. It's impossible." He smirked looking down at her. "Hello there."
"Where is this other girl?" Elijah asked looking at Rose for the answer.
Mira slowly rose to her feet with a stoic face, knowing there was no escape.
Rose pointed towards her and Elijah slowly turned not expecting who he saw at all. The confidence that was radiating of him disappeared as his shoulder dropped and his face turned into one of disbelief.
He exhaled deeply, slowly walking closer to her not rushing like he did with Elena. Stopping right in front of her. "Mimi?"
"Hi, Lijah." She spoke, softly. Tears welled in her eyes as she realized she had missed him more than she thought upon seeing him.
Elijah frown turned into a smile. "How?"
"It's a long story." She murmured, anyone who wasn't a vampire wouldn't be able to hear.
He shook his head. "We all thought you were dead."
Mimi wanted to say something spiteful but held her tongue knowing they had company. This was not the reaction she was expecting from him.
"I know I have a lot to explain, but I have my reason Elijah." She replied when she saw his face drop.
"I'm not angry with you Miralette, I have my questions but I am not angry. Others will be though." Elijah sighed.
Others. Mira didn't want the others to ever know, she just wanted out of there.
Before she could reply, she unexpected had strong arms wrapped around. Slowly she wrapped hers around Elijah's necked, content in the familiar feeling.
"I've missed you, Mimi."
Against her better judgement, Mira replied. "I've missed you too, Lijah."
He pulled away, "Let me handle this and we will talk later." He smiled to her before walking back over to Elena.
She didn't miss the confused look she was getting from the three others in the room.
"We have a long journey ahead. We should be going." He said to the human girl.
Elena turned to Rose. "Please, don't let him take me." The woman just turned away from her.
"One last piece of business and we're done." Elijah ignored the pleas. "Then we're done."
Mira on the other hand was hoping her best friend was here. As much as she felt happy to be reunited with the person she once called her brother, she couldn't reunite with the entire Mikaelson family—she couldn't forgive them.
Slowly Elijah walked over to Trevor who was trying to control his trembling figure.
"I've waited so long for this day, Elijah." He spoke quietly. "I'm truly, very sorry."
"Oh no, your apology's not necessary." Elijah shrugged.
"Yes, yes it is. You trusted me with Katerina and I failed you."
Elijah slowly circled the man, while Trevor avoided all eye contact. "Oh yes, you are the guilty one and Rose aided you because she was loyal to you and that now I honor." He stopped in front of the scared man. "Where was your loyalty?"
"I beg your forgiveness." Trevor whispered,
"So granted." Elijah replied earning a smile from Trevor.
In a matter of a second Elijah hit Trevor's head completely off his shoulders, leaving him decapitated. Rose let out a cry and Elena covered her hand with her mouth. Mira expression however was indifferent and blank, the only thing that shocked her was watching the man she was knew was compassionate do such a ruthless thing.
This just showing Mira how she was definitely not the only one to have changed and become cold heart. Though she didn't know if she could handle seeing how evil her old lover had become.
"You-" Rose started but Elijah stopped her.
"Don't, Rose, now that you are free."
Elijah turned back to the two girls he was there for. "Come." He held a hand out for a Elena.
The human wasn't done yet. "No, what about the moonstone?"
Mira withheld a groan, doppelgänger always proving to her they were not very smart.
"What do you know about the moonstone?" Elijah stepped forward.
"I know that you need it and I know where it is." Elena announced.
"Yes?"
"I can help you get it." She continued.
"Tell me where it is." The original demanded.
Elena shook her head. "It doesn't work that way."
This time Mimi couldn't suppress her annoyance as a scoff escaped her lips.
Elijah smirked in amusement. "Are you negotiating with me?" He looked between Mira and Rose.
Mira stayed quiet while Rose glared.
"It's the first I've heard of it."
Elijah turned back to Elena, staring directly into her eyes. He looked down at her neck. "What is this vervain doing around your neck?" He bitterly ripped the necklace off her neck, throwing it to the side.
Mira begrudgingly stepped forward when he roughly grabbed Elena's head, "Elijah, I know where it is. Just let her go and I'll tell you."
He looked at her, and seeing the honesty on her face he slowly let Elena go, "Where is it?"
"Mystic Falls, In the tomb, underneath the church ruins."
"Why is it there, Miralette?"
"It's with the other doppelgänger, Katherine." She answered.
"Interesting." Elijah murmured.
They all stood in a tense silence that was broken when they heard clattering from the room above them.
"What is that?" Elijah questioned.
"I don't know." Rose replied.
He turned to her. "Who else is in this house?"
She answered more firmly. "I don't know."
He roughly grabbed Elena's arm and softly took Mira's hand, leading them out of the room. They stopped by the front door. Blurs suddenly ran around them.
Elijah pushed Elena into Rose's and let go of Mira. They all turned trying to find who was running about.
"Rose?" Elijah spoke, threateningly.
"I don't know who it is," She replied honestly.
"Up here." Stefan's voice was heard from above them in the upstairs area.
Elijah was quick to rush up them, but stopped when another voice appeared.
"Down here." Damon's spoke up from below.
"Over here." Adelaide's voice was the last to speak, making a smile fall on to Mimi's lips.
A stake was shot into Elijah's hand as a distraction to grab the three girls. The original pulled the wood out with ease, looking up to see the girls were in fact gone.
Mira looked to see Adelaide beside her. They smiled to one another, missing the other a lot. The two had stuck together for seven hundred years, they hated being separated even for a small amount of time.
"Excuse me." Elijah could be heard. "To whom it may concern, you're making a great mistake if you think that you can beat me. You can't. Do you hear that?" He broke a wooden coat rack.
"I repeat, you cannot beat me. So I want the girls, I'm gonna count to three or heads will roll." Wood could be heard breaking. "Do we understand each other?"
"I'll come with you," Elena called, appearing on top of the stairs. "just please don't my friends, they just wanted to help me out."
Elijah rushed up the stairs causing Elena to gasp. "Where is Miralette?"
Elena doesn't answer, instead pulled out a vervain grenade, pulling the pin and throwing it in his face. Elijah let out a scream as his face burned, than growling as he lifted his head towards Elena who was leant against the wall. He skin immediately heals and he starts taking long strides up the staircase, but before he could get to her Stefan appeared shooting him with wooden bullets.
It doesn't faze the Mikaelson at all so the Salvatore dropped his weapon and tackled Elijah down the stairs. From around the corner, Adelaide went to run out but was held back by Mira who only shook her head.
Elijah stood over Stefan, about to kill him but Damon appeared driving a stake through the original. Mimi quickly rushed out and Elijah's gaze fell onto her. She shook her head with tears in her eyes.
'I'm sorry.' She mouthed. He slowly dropped his head as he turned grey and veins encased his skin. Of course she knew he wasn't completely dead. She learnt over a millennial ago from experience a simple wooden stake doesn't kill an original. It was just sad to see someone that was once a brother to you in that state. It had Mira wondering if this is what it felt like when they found her dying human body all that time ago.
Rose came out from behind Adelaide and took in the sight of the dead Elijah. As Damon started to head towards her she rushed out.
"Just let her go," Elena stopped him.
He nodded to her before quickly turning away, looking to Mira, "Are you okay?" He asked his best friend, checking her from any permanent damage.
She smiled softly, "I'm fine." She spoke as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "Thank you."
He smiled and quickly replicated, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly, "We're even now."
She chuckled as she pulled away, "We will never be even. I've saved you to many times to count."
He rolled his eyes playfully. "Yeah, yeah."
Elena frowned when he worried more about the Emberson girl than her. But snapped out of it when Stefan got up checking on her while she ran to him.
The three others ignored them as Mira turned to her blonde best friend.
"You are so lucky I don't knock you on your ass," Addie crossed her arms.
Mira chuckled, holding her arms out, "I missed you too." Quickly Addie ran towards her open arms, pulling her into her own.
"Don't do that again." She mumbled.
Mimi smiled. "I'll try not to."
After a moment Adelaide pushed away. "Okay, let go now. You're covered in filth."
Mira scoffed. "Bitch."
"Dumbass."
"Okay you two, let's get you home." Damon wrapped an arm around their shoulders that both girls simultaneously pushed off.

Mira and Addie walked into their home silently. Both knowing what the other is thinking but neither wanting to say it.
Hesitantly Adelaide speaks up. "Is he really dead?"
Mimi sighed, shaking her head. "No, not permanently. He's gonna wake up and he's going to be angry."
"We should get out of here, Mimi. Like right now." Adelaide said, rushing up the stairs but the brunette stopped her.
"No, he knows now. There's no way to make him forget and he will try to find me. Or he'll tell Klaus who will chase me to the ends of the earth." Mira took a deep breath. "I am not pulling a Katherine Pierce and I am definitely not dragging you into to it as well."
"I'm not losing you to them, Mimi." Adelaide frowned.
"You're not losing me at all. You won't. You and me to the end Ad's. Even if it means going up against my personal walking, talking nightmares." Mira asserted.
"And I will go up against them with you."
"I know."
"What about Elena and the sacrifice? They will expect us to help save her." Addie questioned,
"Im not fighting for Elena, she not my problem. The only person in this town I will protect is Damon."
"Until he sides with the doppelgänger." Adelaide rolled her eyes.
"Let's hope he doesn't."
Ah Elijah knows and now it's only a matter of time until Klaus shows up !
I knew I had to throw in a Lijah and Mimi hug
