ii. the new girls

Chapter 2 | Kill or Be Killed

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Now the thing about Mira is almost the entire supernatural world had heard of her. Witches, Vampires, werewolf's, hunters and so on. She was known to be ruthless, heartless and the worst being fearless. While all of that was true, nothing scared her except one thing, her past. Or more so the people from her past.

So anyone to meet her usually ended up dead, though their were few who got to live and tell the story.

No one really even knew what she Mira looked like. Though that didn't stop people from trying to hunt her down and kill; witches mostly. But she was untraceable and invincible, only being found if she wanted to be. If anyone did, it only ended with them decapitated and a bloody mess.

But many didn't know she was a hybrid, she had tried to keep it hidden considering no one had heard of such a thing. A lot of witches knew though, how they knew is a complicated story. Most other supernatural species believed she was just an old vampire.

Mira Delgado was just a ghost accustomed to the shadows, she was the villain in the bed time stories people told their kids. While Miralette Emberson was a thousand year old dead human girl and former lover of a now great evil.

Growing up she never wanted her nickname to Mira, she believed it was to simple for her attitude and personality. So, she let her loved one's name her Mimi instead. Than came her vampire life, and the need to be a mystery. Her dislike for the nickname changed and it became the name she always referred to, leaving behind Miralette.

Now her last name was her mothers original family name. Which happens to be from the long line of Delgado witches. Though her mother eventually took her husband — Mira's dad's — last name after having her two children. That last name was something Mimi never got use to, simply because her and her mother had a complicated relationship during her teen years. It only went downhill for the mother and daughter after the vampires came to be. But we'll leave that story for another time.

So although Mira became a name she liked, the last name was forever something that she burned with hatred. That name was a lie, but it was lie that kept her identity hidden.

And It was as if saying that lie of a name aloud was forbidden, because when you did wind would pick up and it was sound like a thousand quiet whispers clouding your eardrums.

It was quite ironic that the ex love her life was the only other person getting similar treatment.

━━━━━━━━

After an excruciating 7 hour drive to Mystic Falls, that mostly consisted of Mira and Adelaide bickering, they had finally arrived. The best friends had compelled themselves a gated two story house that was just outside of the town, after they had killed the Johnson's. Who were the couple that had owned it.

"You're where?!" The voice of Elliana Voland questioned through Mimi's phone that was on speaker.

Adelaide sighed as she sits on the couch that was opposite to the brunette, "Mystic Falls."

"What on earth are you two doing in that town?" Elliana asked.

Mimi closed the grimoire she was reading and looked up at the blonde with a pointed look "Yes, Adelaide. What are we doing here?"

Adelaide scowled as she replied, "the Salvatore brothers are here, who doesn't want to mess with the Salvatore's?"

"Seriously Addie? Damon and Stefan will just bring problems. Most likely doppelgänger problems, although I'm still waiting to get my hands on little miss kitty petrova," the dramatic redhead said.

"Me and you both, honey," Mimi smirked.

Adelaide suddenly clapped her hands together. "See, it'll be fun. All we need is for Ellie to get here."

"Nuh uh, no way. I'm not coming there and you two shouldn't be there either," The Voland girl shook her head on her side of the phone.

"Come on Elliana, you know if we stay long enough you'll end up here as well. You can hardly last long without us," Mimi chuckled.

"Hush Mimi, no need to call me out."

"Have you found Theo yet?" Adelaide asked.

Ellie groaned in annoyance. "Not yet, the dude is impossible to find. Must be where Miralette gets it."

Mira stared at the phone with offence written on her face. "Hey, if anything my idiotic older brother takes after me." She stood and poured herself a glass of bourbon. "I do not take after anyone."

"And they say I'm the dramatic one." Ellie rolled her eyes.

"You are," The brunette and blonde replied in unison.

Elliana Voland, the third of the girls trio. She had fiery red hair and was ironically obsessed with color red. She was a vampire that Miralette and Matteo Emberson met in Chicago around 500 years ago before it actually was Chicago. The Voland girl had only recently changed to being a vampire and had no one. Her little sister had been killed by a couple of New Orlean witches and she was the last of the redheads family. So Mira took her under her wing and helped her, becoming like a sister to her. Elliana was incredibly thankful to the Emberson girl.

She was introduced to Adelaide as well and the three girls became an iconic trio that was not to be messed with. Both Adelaide and Elliana knew they'd be dead without the Original Hybrid and would also go to hell and back to keep her safe mentally and physically.

The Voland girl was currently trying to find Mira's older brother who had gone to London for god knows what and hadn't returned any of the girls calls. They knew he was probably fine which was why they didn't all go but they would rather be safe than sorry, especially Mimi. Her older brother was her world and she would rather be dead than lose him, funny since she can't die.

"Let's just see how your first week there goes and maybe I'll make an appearance," The redhead said.

Mimi groaned in fake annoyance, "Hopefully something makes us leave by the end of the week."

Adelaide hushed her brunette friend, "Don't worry Ellie we already have a room waiting for you."

"Well you better or we're gonna have problems," She retorted sassily.

"Oh, but she doesn't want to come here.," Mimi rolled her eyes while Adelaide chuckled.

"I have to go, I have an Emberson brother to hunt. I'll will call you two tomorrow, have fun messing with the Salvatore's. Love you," Elliana said.

"Love you too," The older two replied in unison once again before the line went dead.

"I'm exhausted. It was a long drive, I'll see you in a few." Adelaide yawned, receiving a hum of acknowledgment from Mira, before she walked off to her new room.

Mira opened her grimoire once again and sighed as she looked through it. She may of still had her powers after being turned but she didn't feel the same amount of strength that she did when she was once human. It was like a part of her had been locked away yet still there. Her power was still running through her veins but it was locked inside of her waiting to come out, yet it couldn't.

━━━━━━━━

Stefan Salvatore watched as Mason Lockwood walked away from him. He had just finished trying to make peace between the man and his brother since Damon tried to kill Mason after finding out the Lockwood was a werewolf.

"What are you doing?" Damon asked as he appeared behind his little brother, side eyeing him.

Stefan tilts his head slightly not even looking behind him. "Negotiating peace on your behalf."

Damon clicked his tongue in annoyance, "but I don't want peace." He whined.

"Well, consider it Opposite Day." Stefan replied sarcastically, as he glanced at his older brother

"Stefan," Damon moved to stand in front the younger Salvatore, grabbing his shoulders. "please tell me you don't seriously think, a handshake just solved our problems."

Stefan's sighed, "No, actually, I think that the first chance Mason Lockwood gets he's gonna drive a stake through your heart, and then through mine." He explained in fake amusement, "all because you took it upon yourself to try and kill him." He than grabbed the side of Damon's neck with a gently pat. "So thank you, because we don't have enough problems." He went to walk off but Damon stopped him.

"And even though this will just piss you off more, I think we may have a new problem." Damon informed him.

Stefan frowns, "what are you talking about?"

"Well, apparently someone new moved into the mansion that's a few blocks from the boarding house. The former owners randomly up and left, not telling anyone and just handed over there house to two young girls. That not sound suspicious to you?"

Stefan looked off in thought or as one might say, brooding like usual. "So the two girls now own the house?"

  "Yep"

  "Any names?" Stefan asked.

Damon shrugged, "it was anonymous or something."

Stefan just shook his head. "How do you know it's not just two new normal girls moving to town?"

"I don't know Stefan, two random and young pair of girls show up from no where. The couple; who have no kids, that also own the only mansion almost as big as ours in town spontaneously disappear at the same time and the girls magically get said mansion. Does that sound like a normal situation to you?" Damon said in frustration at his brother optimism.

"Okay, yeah, somethings up. Let's just deal with our Mason and Katherine problems first."

Damon raised a brow, "And if these new girls strike us before anyone else? Or if they're here to help Katherine?"

Sighing at his older brothers comment, knowing he had a point. "Than we'll take care of them. For now lay off the Lockwood." With that Stefan walked away from him.

Damon threw up his hands. "Werewolves, psychotic ex's and random girls. What's next?" He mumbled under his breath.

━━━━━━━━

After an hour nap, Adelaide had found Mimi fixing up her new room. While the entire house was already furnished the bedrooms were the only thing the girls were changing.

"Have a good nap?" Mira asked since she had heard the blonde walking around.

Leaning on the doorway, Addie replied, "yes actually. The Johnson's have amazing beds."

Mira chuckled as she turned to her best friend. "I heard there's some society picnic in town today."

"Are those sorts of things often around here." Adelaide frowned in distaste.

The brunette shrugged. "Probably."

Adelaide tilted her head, "how'd you even find that out?"

"The couple that so generously left us this house had a note about it in the kitchen."

"Of course they did." The blonde smiled sarcastically.

"You wanna go?" Mira raised a brow with a mischievous look.

"Oh, you wanna go start trouble in the town you didn't want to go to?" The Rymer girl questioned incredulously.

"Let's call it a change of heart." Mimi threw her hands up. "You brought us to this town for fun, so let's go have fun."

Adelaide raised her brows, "I never said no."

Both girls smiled and gave each other a look before heading down the bifurcated staircase. Mystic Falls had no idea what they were in for, but neither did Mira.

━━━━━━━━

"You see anyone we know?" Adelaide asked as her and Mimi stood watching the citizens of Mystic Falls at the event.

Mimi doesn't reply as something caught her eye. Not taking her eyes of the person she was staring at as she pointed for Adelaide to notice. "I spy a raven haired Salvatore."

Damon Salvatore stood with a blonde girl who was unknown to the older girls. The raven haired vampire was staring at Stefan and a girl who looked exactly like the Salvatore's ex.

Adelaide smirked as she went to reply until she noticed the younger Salvatore just a few feet away from where she was staring at Damon. Who was walking towards him was what shocked her. "Mimi," she said quietly. Her eyes not leaving a straight haired brunette girl.

Mira looked at her friend but saw she was looking at someone shocked. She followed her sight but only noticed Stefan. "What is it Adelaide?" She asked cautiously trying to understand why she was freaked out.

"That looks like Katherine Pierce," the blonde answered only to shock her best friend. "But at the same time I refuse to believe it's her cause Katerina wouldn't be caught dead wearing that." She continued.

Finally Miralette saw her. Elena Gilbert, descendant of the one and only Katerina Petrova but also her doppelgänger. Only the girls didn't know that, yet.

"There is no bloody way." The original cursed.

Adelaide grabbed her arm and pulled her closer to where Damon was standing, only the Salvatore had his back turned to them. The two had their heads down as they crouched on the grass pretending to be doing something as they began listening to the conversation of the couple.

The Katherine lookalike reached Stefan. "Do you still care about Katherine?" She asked him. Their voices ringing through the vampires ears clear as ever, as if they were standing right next to the pair.

Stefan turned towards her with a frown. "Don't be like this. Please don't turn this into something that it's not."

Elena gave him a look. "So this isn't up for discussion. That's what you're saying?"

Mira turned to Adelaide. "Trouble in paradise." Adelaide chuckled before turning back to the argument that was brewing.

"No, I'm saying that isn't up for discussion right now because we have ears on us." Stefan whispered as he and Elena turned to look at Damon and Caroline, both who turned away instantly.

The two girls looked between the four, questions wandering around in the brains, both trying to collect all the pieces to put together the puzzle that is Mystic Falls.

"Okay, when?" Elena sighed.

  Stefan shrugged. "I don't know."

Elena brows furrowed. "I saw her Stefan. It's like we are the same person. How could you hate her and be in love with me?"

Adelaide turned to Mira and mouthed Katherine? It had became clear that this girl was not the same person as the selfish vampire the girls knew. They began wondering if she was human since they were to far away to tell.

"You're reaching. I'm not," Stefan shook his head. "I'm not Damon."

The brunette and blonde duo each raise their brows in unison, sensing history repeating.

"How about we don't bring Damon into this right now?" Elena scoffed lightly.

"You know, I can't..." Stefan looked at the brunette sadly. "I can't do this anymore, Elena."

Elena nodded. "Fine, Stefan. Whatever." With that she walked away leaving Stefan alone.

"Relationships are about communication." The girls heard Damon making them roll their eyes.

They quickly rushed back to their original spots, out of peoples sight.

━━━━━━━━

Mira quickly turned to Adelaide. "Another freaking doppelgänger? No way Addie," she shook her head.

The blonde sighed, "Mimi calm down."

The hybrid gave her a look of disbelief. "Calm down? You know I don't have the best record when it comes to those Petrova's."

"Yeah, we'll you tried to kill the last two." Adelaide stated.

Running her hand threw her hair anxiously, Mira insisted, "They had it coming. But it's Katherine I'm worried about."

Adelaide grabbed her before she could walk away. "Woah, slow down. What are you talking about?"

"Last time I saw Katherine, she knew a lot. And I mean a lot about me, about him. She told me he wanted to break the sun and moon curse. And that you need a doppelgänger to complete it." Mira confessed.

Recognition settled on the Rymer girls face. "They were looking for the doppelgänger all those years ago. It was Katherine wasn't it?"

Mira hummed, "Yes, she turned so they couldn't use her for it anymore so I believe he has been hunting her since. The doppelgänger has to be human. Now we should leave. Leave this hell of town, right now."

"Woah, M, I don't wanna leave. We don't even need to leave." Adelaide voiced.

"Are you insane? Yes, we need to leave, because if we don't my past is gonna show up and I'm not gonna have time to get the hell out before it bites me in the ass." Mira stressed.

"He wouldn't even know where she is, Mira. She's clearly on the run" The vampire pointed out. "Wait I didn't even think anyone knew Katherine had a kid to continue the bloodline. I didn't."

The brunette frowned in realisation. "She must of had one before she left Bulgaria." She than scowled, "She must be here for the newest lookalike. I mean what else would Katherine be here for?"

"The Salvatore's." The Rymer shrugged.

"Added bonus." Mimi took a deep breath. "That scheming bitch is up to something or else that human would be dead for being with Stefan." She shook her head, "Anyway, who cares? Time to go."

The blonde gave her a disappointed look. "You really wanna keep running?"

"It's not running If theres no chase Ad's, it's hiding. But if we stay and he shows up it will be running." Mira exhaled.

Before Adelaide got the chance to reply the two heard someone coughing. They turned to see Damon hunched over, with Stefan holding him up. "Vervain," he breathed out.

"And the drama begins."

"I'm gonna kill him." Damon spoke determinedly and tried to walk off but Stefan held him back.

He tried to fight Stefan but the younger boy pushed him down. "Listen to me! Sit! Sit!"

"His a vampire, not a dog." Mimi rolled her eyes and Adelaide chuckled.

Damon glared at his little brother. "I'm not listening anymore of your "give peace a chance" crap. He's dead!"

Stefan sighed as he held Damon in place. "Okay. I don't like it but he's making threats. He could expose us. We need to put him down."

"God, don't tell me their are wolves running around this town too." Adelaide groaned.

Damon gave his brother a surprised glance. "All right. Let's do it." Before he saw the person he wanted dead. "Woods. Trash duty, come one."

Addie gave her best friend a pleading look that made the hybrid throw her hands up in annoyance, their previous conversation still on her mind. But she gave in. "Let's go."

━━━━━━━━

Adelaide tried to rush Mira since she was walking at normal speed, not in any rush to watch the Salvatore's rip someone up.

That was until they heard gunshots. Glancing at each other before they both sped off to the scene.

They stood back as they watched the deputy's and sheriff vervain the Salvatore's after shooting them with wooden bullets.

"They came to a town where people know what they are?" The blonde shook her head. "These idiots are dumber than I remember."

Mira shrugged as she watched the unconscious boys be picked up. "Pretty sure that makes us worse."

Adelaide gives her a look, "you one of the oldest people roaming the earth, these humans don't stand a chance."

Mira chuckled before her gaze landed on the boy that Stefan and Damon were following just before. "We were right," the blonde turned to her with a question look. She pointed towards Mason Lockwood catching his scent. "Werewolves."

The duo watched the group take the Salvatore's down into a cellar. They obviously weren't about to let the two younger boys die. And as they went to go in, Mason walked out.

"Where's he going?" Adelaide asked rhetorically.

"I don't know, but I'm about to find out." Mira said as she went to follow him but got pulled back.

"What are you doing?" Adelaide asked.

"Finishing what Damon and Stefan couldn't. You wait here and if you think they're about to kill them before I get back, stop it. Okay?"

Adelaide nodded so Miralette took off after the wolf. She stopped as he stood in front of the blonde and the Katherine lookalike, the Salvatore's were with earlier.

She watched the wolf grab Elena in a chockhold. And as she was about to kill him, but she the blonde spoke up.

"I can take you."

Mason smirked "Wanna bet?"

The blonde glared. "Yeah, I do." With that she sped at the wolf, pushing him against a tree. Freeing Elena. "Told you." She retorted, before kneeing him in the groin. And than kicking him hard against a tree.

Mira smirked at the scene, taking a liking to the girl before she sped back to her best friend.

━━━━━━━━

"How'd it go?" Adelaide asked as Mira appeared next to her. "He dead?"

The hybrid shook her head, "blondie, that Damon was with, took care of him. She's a vampire apparently."

Adelaide nodded, "What now?" Before Mira got a chance to reply gunshots went off and they heard Damon screaming.

"I want to see if the girlfriend and barbie vampire show up." Just as she said that, the human and vampire duo rushed to the scene.

"What is that?" Elena questioned, as she saw Caroline stop and look at the cellar. "Caroline, what is it?"

"My mom. She's killing than." Caroline frowned. Elena went to run in but Caroline held her back.

"We have to stop her."

Caroline shook her head, fearfully. "I can't. Elena, she's gonna find out about me." Elena shook her head in disappointment before running down the stairs.

"I can't already tell the new doppelgänger is gonna piss me off as much as the last two." Mira rolled her eyes.

Adelaide furrowed her brows. "How does she even plan to stop them. They'll probably knock her out."

"Let's go." The two rushed passed Caroline and down the cellar. Confusing the young blonde who followed after them deciding that saving Stefan and Damon was more important than her mom knowing about what she is.

"You can't kill them, I'm not gonna let you." Elena said angrily, but got pushed in side roughly by a deputy.

The two girls ran around the group as a swooshing noise was heard. "Who else is with you?" The sheriff question, her gun pointed out.

A third noise was heard as Caroline joined the older girls. She ran at a deputy, pushing his gun away as she bit into his neck. Killing him. The second deputy shot at her but she held the dead man in front of her.

As she let him go, Adelaide ran at the one shooting and jumped on his back, she threw his gun away and bit into his neck, not draining him. She ran in front and backhanded him, than kicked his legs making him fall to the ground.

Mira went at the last deputy, taking his gun and throwing it behind her as she circled him multiple time. She stood in front of him and pushed her hand into his heart while biting his neck at the same time. She kept a tight grip on his heart as she pulled away, pulling it out in the process.

All three girls showed themselves with their vampire faces present, blood coating their mouths, veins evident under their eyes and their mouths opened for their fangs to be seen.

Elena stared at the older vampires in confusing and shock while the sheriff stared at Caroline with her mouth open and tears in her eyes.

"Hi mom." The young vampire mumbled.

Mira looked at Elena with an smile that sent shivers down Elena's back, "tell Damon, M says hi."

"We'll be seeing each other real soon, Katerina 2.0." Adelaide smirked and both girl sped away from the scene. Leaving the Gilbert girl with questions.

"She's human." Mimi stated as the two stopped outside the cellar.

Adelaide turned to her, "you wanna leave?"

Mimi didn't reply for a minute before giving the blonde a small smile. "No, no yet. We'll see how it goes."

Adelaide grinned as they sped back to their car.

━━━━━━━━

In the cellar, the group were waiting for Stefan to get his strength back since he refused to drink the deputy's blood. Damon agreed not to kill Caroline's mom, Liz. And was just going to wait for the vervain to leave her system to compel her.

"Who were those two other girls?" Caroline asked as she looked at Elena.

Both Salvatore's turned to the two with questioning gazes. "What girls?" Stefan grunted out, still in pain from the bullets.

"Two girls, vampires, came in and helped take down the deputy's. We've never seen them before." Elena answered.

"They were fast, faster than us three. How?" Caroline questioned.

Damon looked at her. "It means their older." He glanced at Stefan before turning to Elena. "What'd they look like? They say anything?"

Elena turned her gaze to him. "One was brunette, the other blonde. And the brunette one said 'tell Damon, M says hi.' The blonde said, 'we'll be seeing each other real soon Katerina 2.0.' They both had accents."

Damon frowned at the information, wondering if it was really them, if it was her. But why would she be in Mystic Falls.

"Are these the girls you were suspicious of earlier Damon." Stefan snapped his older brother out of his thoughts. He wasn't catching on like his older brother was since he didn't know them as good as his Damon did.

"I don't know." Damon mumbled, he looked to be in a trance as he relived certain memories. It's been a while since he had seen her, let alone thought about her. His old friend.

Elena frowned at his state, "do you know who it is, Damon?" She asked suspiciously.

He shook his head quickly. "I've met a lot of people who's name start with M, Elena, could be anyone." Was all he said as he walked out with Liz who had sat there barely listening to shocked from everything that had just happened.

━━━━━━━━

Mira and Adelaide decided they would go to the Salvatore boarding house and make their appearance known to the brothers. Liz was in the basement of the mansion. Caroline was asleep on the couch. Damon was roaming around, being Damon. While Stefan and Elena had been arguing about Stefan drinking human blood.

The duo snuck in, making noises here and there. Damon heard a swooshing noise past him making him freeze. He than heard a window bang. "Stefan!" He called out. "We got company!"

In an instant Stefan and Elena were stood next to him. "Whats going on?" They than heard thud coming from the living room.

"Someone's in here." Damon whispered.

"Oh my god, Caroline!" Elena exclaimed as she ran to the living room while the boys tried to stop her but instead just followed.

They came into the living room to see Caroline sitting up looking at them with a frown. "What?" She asked.

Two blurs sped past them making them all jump slightly. Stefan pushed Elena behind him. "Okay, whoever is in here, I hope you have a death wish!" Damon shouted in anger, as a response someone came up behind him and gave him a shove. He landing on his ass between the two living room couches. He jumped up even angrier. "Yep, someone's dying tonight."

"Show yourself." Stefan called out.

A blonde appeared on the couch opposite to Caroline with a glass of bourbon in her hand. Her blonde hair in two braids. A white leather jacket on her shoulders with tight leggings. Boots on her feet which rested on the other side of the couch.

"This is so not the welcome I expected." She smirked at they all flinched and turned to her. "What about you Mimi?"

A brunette appeared on the arm of the chair next to her. Her eyes shining with mischief and a hint of evil. Her smile bright. Legs crossed as her heel boot covered feet, swung slightly. Her dark hair parted down the middle with perfect wavy curls. She wore her signature black leather jacket and tight ripped jeans.

"Thought it'd be a little more welcoming, it has been a hundred and something bloody years." She stated with her strong British accent.

The younger girls looked at the older ones in confusion, shock and fear. Caroline also admire their outfits and beauty. They were like two goddess, one slightly evil and the other cheeky. Stefan stared at them in confusion and awe, he remembered them. Lexi knew them, and Adelaide helped him once.

Damon on the other hand had his gaze locked on Mira, his eyes so wide they looked as if they might pop out while his mouth was practically on the floor. His suspicion's being confirmed as she sat right in front of him. "Mira?" He mumbled so quietly only the vampires heard him.

"These are the girls from the cellar. Do you two know them?" Elena spoke up making eyes turn to her.

"Damn she really does look like Katherine." Adelaide stated in slight wonder.

Mira tilted her head, "apart from the hair and the clothes." She said in distaste as she observed the girl. As much as she hated to admit it, Katherine had better style. "And the fact she has friends." She added.

Adelaide nodded in agreement as she downed the rest of the bourbon. "You boys have some good bourbon, I'll give ya that."

Mimi turned to Caroline taking note the boys were still stunned. "you must be Caroline, I'm Mira. That's Adelaide. I saw what you did to that werewolf earlier. Let's just say I was impressed."

Caroline looked at her with wide eyes as she felt quite flattered she had impressed the older girl. "I love your outfit and your accent." She replied cheerfully with a growing smile.

Mira was taking aback a little at the girls cheerfulness. Never meeting a vampire that cheerful, not even Adelaide. "I'm gonna call you sunshine or blondie. Is that okay?" She asked with a smile.

Caroline nodded quickly, liking being on nickname basis with her.

"Mimi they look like they seen a ghost." Adelaide chuckled.

The brunette turned to the Salvatore's than to her best friend. "We have that affect Ad's." She slowly walked towards Damon. "You gonna stare or are you gonna hug me or what?"

At her words Damon snapped back into reality and in an instant she was wrapped in a tight embrace as he wrapped his arms around her waist. She wrapped hers around his neck and buried her head into his shoulder. "I missed you." Damon mumbled into her hair.

She smiled softly, "me too Salvatore, me too."

Elena and Caroline looked at the two in shock at how soft Damon was with the girl. Hardly ever seeing him like this. Not even with Stefan who was also a little stunned, not exactly up to date on the pairs friendship. Adelaide smiled knowing how much Damon cared for the girl after everything she had done for him.

The older blonde stood and walked towards Stefan, "So do I get an I missed you hug to or not Stef?"

The boy smiled softly as he stepped towards her and wrapped his arms around her. Elena frowned looking between both Salvatore's hugging each girl. They pulled apart just as Mira and Damon did.

"Y'know I didn't think I'd have to come here and save your ass again." Mimi smirked at the raven haired man.

"So it was you." He smirked.

"Of course it was, who else would it be." Adelaide spoke, her Russian accent peaking through as she poured herself another bourbon. Mira went over and gave Stefan a quick hug.

"Still on the bunny diet Stef?" She asked.

  He nodded, "for now."

"So why are you two here?" Damon asked while he took the glass from Addie who scowled in return. "Cause I have a lot of questions."

"As do we, no one told us Katherine had a new human doppelgänger." The hybrid girl retorted.

"Well you don't really keep in touch." Damon remarked back.

"You can't talk." She rolled her eyes.

"Can we skip the bickering and get to the answers?" Elena interjected.

"Later." Mimi mumbled with a glare at the sarcastic vampire, earning a nod in response.

Everyone took a seat, they all had questions. "What are you two doing here?" Stefan asked first, looking at the older girls in front of him.

"Well we were in New York and I was in an alleyway, eating my dinner." She started, "When Adelaide here showed up blabbering in about how bored she was of the city."

"And me being me had gotten word that you two," Adelaide continued as she pointed at the boys who raised their brows in response. "both we're in Mystic Falls. And I wondered what you would be doing together in your home town of all places, since last I heard you hated each other."

Mira than added. "We thought it would have to do with Katherine, but we didn't think there would be a new, human her." She finished as she eyed Elena.

"Did you know Katherine was here as well?" Caroline inquired.

Adelaide turned to her, "so she is? We had our suspicions but weren't certain."

They all nodded making Mira groan, "that's great, miss kitty kat's here. She does not want to come near me or I'm killing her."

Elena raised a brow. "So you don't like Katherine either?"

"No goddamn way. I've hated her since I met her in the 16th century. Only seen her twice since."

Elena looked at her in confusion, "16th but you met her in 1864?" Elena turned to the Salvatore's.

Damon shrugged. "Katherine's like 500 years old."

"So how old are you two?" Elena turned back to the girls. They were slowly beginning to get pissed off with the questions.

"I'm 700 years old. Turned by Mira herself." Adelaide smiled at her best friend.

They all than turned to Mira. "You turned her?" Caroline questioned receiving a nod.

"And you didn't give her a choice?" Elena frowned, confused how they had became best friends.

Mira paused, looking at the girl wondering if she had heard correctly. when she saw the serious look on the gilbert's face she gave her a terrifying glare. "I saved her from dying. She's been by my side since." Elena eyes widened, taken aback by her expression and tone.

"And how old are you?" Caroline spoke softly compared to Elena. Trying to take the heat off of her friend.

"Just a few years older than Addie over here." Mimi answered nonchalantly. Everyone but Damon and Adelaide gave her a look of disbelief.

"How much is a few?" Elena queried.

Mira shrugged in response. "A few hundred or so." No one said anything as the information set in. They reliased despite the questions swarming their heads that she wasn't going to give them anymore information on the topic.

"How did you meet Damon and Stefan?" Elena continued her integration.

"I'm sure they will tell you those stories." Mimi snapped. Stefan and Caroline gave the doppelgänger a look to stop being so hostile, Damon just glared at her.

"Okay our turn. What is Katherine up to?" Adelaide interjected, it was their turn to play 21 questions.

Damon sighed. "We have no idea. She's Katherine, the bitch could be up to anything." He locked eyes with Mira, "And now that you two are here, you're going to help find out."

"Are we now?" The best friends raised their brows in unison receiving a smirk from him.

Caroline frowned. "She killed me." She murmured. Elena grabbed her friends hand to comfort her.

  "When?"

"About a week or so ago." The younger blonde answered.

Adelaide gave her a disbelieving look, "you're that new at this?"

"Oh, you're really good a control. Never met someone to adjust that quick." Mira spoke in surprise.

Caroline was once again flattered by the brunette beauty. She was a thousand years old, god knows how many vampires she'd met. The blonde told the hybrid and vampire all about Katherine's blackmail, which the duo knew the young girl didn't deserve.

While Elena was with Stefan talking, Damon was sat staring at the fire with a glass of bourbon in hand Mira decided to leave Adelaide and Caroline to go talk to him.

"So Mystic Falls huh, never thought this would be where you settle." She smiled as she sat next to him.

Damon gave her a small smile in return, "especially with Stefan, right." He added making them both chuckle. "Where have you been all this time M?"

The hybrid shrugged, "Everywhere. And no where."

"I'm glad to have you back." He murmured, making her let out her angelic laugh. "You are staying right?"

"Possibly, we'll see how things go. For now I'll just enjoy the time I have with my guy best friend." She spoke softly.

"Better be your only guy friend." Damon retorted playfully.

"Of course." She rolled her eyes. "Besides who else would I cause trouble with? Besides Adelaide of course."

"True." Damon nodded with a smirk.

"Now, what are we doing about the Lockwood dog?" She turned him with a serious look.

He shook his head in awe, "Have I mentioned I missed you?" She let out a hum.

They sat in a comfortable silence watching the fire while gears were turning in Miralette's head with the information she had learned.

She couldn't understand what Katherine was up to. Why not kill Elena? Why turn Caroline? Why show up in mystic falls after all this time?

The way so many relationships are ruined when the truth comes out and the Mikaelson's make their appearance is so sad.

And Caroline, Mira and Adelaide being an iconic trio without even knowing each other.
