Chapter 1 | New Adventure
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Present; 2010
New York
A black haired woman sat at a table of a small cafe. The moon lighting up the night sky as it shined through the cafe window next to her. Her eyes sparkled in the moon light while her silk skin glistened in the dim lighted restaurant. The one and only mysterious Mira Emberson, to be exact. Formerly Miralette. Though to strangers who had only heard the stories of the girl, she was Mira Delgado. A name that sent fearful shivers down anyone and everyone's spines.
Her Hazel eyes roamed over all the few people that sat drinking their beverages without a care in the world.
Her gaze locked with a male that looked to be in his mid twenty's, his longish dark hair had a bit to much gel in it, his eyes a dark emerald. His gaze had obviously already been on her making her lips twitch up into a small smirk.
Once he gave her a toothy grin she quickly stood up and grabbed her black leather jacket. Confidence radiating off of her as her ankle heeled boots clicked against the floorboards.
Sitting in front of him she gave her adorning smile that makes boys and girls mesmerised.
"Hi." He spoke lowly in a husky voice, trying his best to be flirtatious that caused the brunette to inwardly cringe.
"Hi, I'm Mira." She introduced with her least favourite name. Her British accent—that wasn't as strong as it once was, still evident as she spoke. She holds out a hand for him to shake which he quickly does.
"Lucas." He replied.
The girl raised her brow with flirtatious eyes. "Well Lucas, I was wondering if you if you'd like to accompany me to grab a bite to eat."
His eyes widened slightly at her boldness. "Right now?"
"Of course, I'm quite starved. Unless you're busy." She shrugged. Her smile never faltering. It was true she was hungry, just not for natural food.
"Uh, y-yeah, i, I mean no." He stammered. "I'm not busy. I could definitely eat." The man let out a breath to recollect himself.
Mira quickly stood. "Fantastic, let's go."
"I, I thought you meant eat here?" He questioned in confusion.
The brunette tilted her head, "I need something better than a muffin. I know a place." She held out a hand.
Not thinking to much of it, considering a gorgeous girl is wanting to go out with him the man stood as well. Collecting his things and grabbed her outstretched hand as she walked towards the exit.
Walking out into the busy street that is Manhattan, the pair are hit with the cold air. "Aren't you cold?" Lucas asked while he eyes the girls outfit.
She had black ripped jeans, a simple white crop top, her heel lace up ankle boots and her black cropped leather jacket she had just put back on. Accompanied by her signature daylight ring, a silver moon necklace and hoop earrings.
Mira shrugged at his question, "I'm not one to feel the cold." Which wasn't a lie, she really wasn't. Grabbing his hand once again, she led him down the street, as he followed excitedly. Although he had no idea what he was in for.
Finally coming across what she had been looking for, an alleyway. She took a sharp turn down the dark passage between the two buildings.
The boy furrowed his brows as he reliased where she was leading him. "I thought we were getting something to eat?" He asked in a slight fearful tone.
She tightened her hold on his hand almost breaking it as he winced. Pulling him further through the alley so no by passer's see. Mira looked over her shoulder with an innocent smile. "We are."
A whooshing sound was heard as the man is suddenly up against the brick wall of a building, while the brunette goddess held him in a tight grip, her hand wrapped around his neck making it hard for him to breathe.
"What the hell?" He questioned quietly, too afraid to speak any louder. His blood flow being cut off as she tightened her hold.
Shrugging, she replied. "At least I'm eating." She than pouted. "It's sad to have to hurt that pretty face, but as I said I'm starved." She looked into his eyes that held the stare, "Don't scream." The boy nodded in a hypnotise manners. Veins appeared under the girls eyes as fangs bared from her mouth. Piercing them into the boys neck forming two holes, sucking gulps of his blood. He tried to squirm out of her grip clearly not wanting to die. She didn't compel him not to fight because she enjoyed the fear of the humans and the way some try to escape but to no avail, they never win.
"My, my, Miralette is up to no good." A voice with a slight Russian/European accent spoke from behind the vampire and human that was being drained.
Retracting her fangs, a groan escaped her as she instantly recognised the voice. The almost dead boy trembled against the wall, blood trailing down his neck.
"Adelaide must you interrupt my dinner." Mira turned to the source. A beautiful blonde was leant against the other brick wall across from Mira. "You get pissed when I do that to you." She wiped the excess blood dripping from the corners of her lips with her thumb before licking it off.
There was Adelaide Rymer. Mira's partner in crime as one would put it. Wherever the brunette went the blonde had been close behind for the last 700 years. They met in the 13th century, Mira had saved the girl from dying by turning her, after her newly turned vampire mother had fed on her than had stopped before she had completely drained her daughter to death and ran away in a blur. But that's a story for another time.
People who had lived to tell the stories of the evil vampire-witch hybrid usually added the Rymer girl to it. She was known for being the best friend of Mira Delgado, a mysterious powerful old vampire.
"And yet you still do it Mimi." Adelaide rolled her eyes. She turned her gaze to the boy as he tried to run but in a flash Adelaide was in front of him. "Tsk, tsk," she tutted. "Does that's really seem smart sweetheart." With that her fangs came out and she rushed to him, draining him from the opposite side of the injury Mira had left.
Throwing her hands up, Mira shook her head. "Than she steals the remainder of my dinner." She muttered as the now dead boys body dropped to the ground once Adelaide let go of him.
"There was hardly anything left in him." Adelaide shrugged as she wiped the blood from her chin. She looked down, "Ugh, he got blood on my jacket," she whined as she saw the crimson red on her white leather jacket.
The brunette raised a brow at her blonde friend. "I don't understand why you insist on wearing white leather, especially considering you're a messy drinker."
The Rymer girl gave her an offended look, "first off, I am not a messy drinker. Secondly, I wear white cause, you own black and Ellie owns red. I must have my own color and I look best in white, duh." She stated sassily.
"Of course," Mira rolled her eyes playfully, a smile growing on her plump lips.
The blonde picked up the human from the ground carefully, not to get anymore blood on her. Turning back the Emberson girl, "How come you went straight for the feed? You usually play with your toys before sucking their souls." Adelaide chuckled at her description, alway amused with herself.
"Wasn't up for a game tonight." Mimi smiled cheekily as she walked towards her friend and the dead human. "And since you finished him off, you can get rid of the body." She winked as she walked towards the street.
Groaning as she watched Miralette's retreating figure. "Seriously, you are incredibly annoying Miralette Emberson." Addie whined.
And angelic laugh escaped the brunette, "you've been telling me that since the 13th century Addie, we both know you love me." She stated.
"Not totally sure about that." The blonde whispered though Mira still heard. The hybrid chuckled softly as she stopped and turned back the the girl holding the dead body.
"Why did you follow me Addie? I know it wasn't to share a meal." Mira gestured to the poor dead boy in her arms.
Adelaide tilted her head as she tried to keep a distance with the lifeless body. "I'm bored of New York. I believe it's time for a new adventure.
"We got here two weeks ago,"
The blonde nodded to her friend before adding, "Exactly Mimi, two weeks is far to long. You know I get bored quickly."
"Ah, yes your attention span is quite short." The brunette pointed out. "So what? You want to go somewhere new?"
"Yes!" Adelaide exclaimed excitedly.
Mira gestured for her to go on, "and where would that be, you have that look like you already know so spill."
Adelaide gave her a happy grin, "Mystic Falls."
Mira gave the girl a look of disbelief. "Mystic Falls?" She questioned unsure if she heard the blonde properly, but considering the energetic nod she received apparently she did. "Why the bloody hell would you want to go there?"
"I heard from a little Birdy that the Salvatore brothers returned to the infested little town, and last time I check the two hated each other. So clearly something drew them there and I want to know what. Besides the Salvatore's are known for drama especially after little miss Katerina Petrova." The Rymer girl rambled. "Things would get even better if we showed up."
Mimi rolled her eyes. "What is with you and drama?"
Adelaide tilted her head as she playful glared at her best friend. "Seriously, that's all you have to say?"
"Look as much as I miss Damon's commentary, I know for a fact that going to Mystic Falls will rope us into their drama. And Salvatore drama usually means doppelgänger drama. And me and doppelgängers don't usually go well together."
"But you love to cause problems for people, I mean imagine if they found out who you really are. Your friends with Damon and he doesn't even know your real name." The vampire remarked.
The brunette scoffed, "So what? He knows the name everyone else does."
"Fair enough." Adelaide laughed. "So, you want to have some fun?" She gave the older girl a pout.
Sighing, since she knew Adelaide was right, she was a sucker for drama as long as it wasn't her drama. And it's hard to say no to the blondes pleading look. "Why do i feel this is going to drag us into some sort of mess." Mimi scowled.
"Is that a yes?" The younger vampire inquired, a grin slowly finding its way onto her lips.
"Fine, Mystic Falls it is." Mimi threw up her hands in annoyance. She wouldn't lie, going to Mystic Falls sounded fun but she couldn't shake the feeling that it would just bring them problems.
Adelaide pounded her fist into the air, dropping the dead body which hits the floor with a thud. "Oh, my bad." She mumbled, looking down at the drained boy.
Mira laughed at her friend. "I'm going to grab my things, while you deal with him."
The blonde gave a glare, "he was your dinner." She complained.
"Your dessert." The hybrid smirked before she sped away from the dark alley.
"Bitch." Adelaide scoffed playfully once Mira was gone before picking up the former alive boys body and speeding away herself.

Mimi had gotten to her hotel room in a record time, she had begun collecting her things. All her clothes were now in bags and just as she headed to the door she saw something shining on the floor near a small table.
Walking over she bends down to see a pendant with a round white gem in the middle, though it seemed a little discoloured after so many years. Smiling softly as she picked it up. She walked over to a mirror and took off her moon necklace that was around her neck and clipped the locker in its place.
Holding it between her thumb and index finger while she looked at it in the reflection of the mirror.

Flashback
1000 years ago
"Miralette!" A long blonde man shouted with a smile as he chased the gorgeous brunette around.
She giggled as she ran, her hair flowing in the breeze. "You are not catching me!" She shouted back receiving no reply. She turned to see no one behind her, "Nik?" She called out just as strong arms wrapped around her waist.
"Yes." He whispered in her ear as his chin rested on her shoulder.
Mimi laughed as she tilted her head to get a better look at him. "Must you always sneak up on me?"
Niklaus shrugged as he turned the brunette around to face him. "It is enjoyable," he answered while she rolled her eyes. "I got you something," he smiled.
She raised a brow with an excited smile, "you did?" He nodded. "What did you get me?"
"This," He reached into his pocket, pulling out a small pouch, fumbling around as he opened it and pulled out a silver a chain. A small oval shaped pendant, decorated with a layered antique silver filigree and a white fire opal glass cabochon that was attached to the silver chain. It looked to be some what handmade.
Mimi gasped at it, "Nik, it's beautiful." Anyone could tell by the looks on the couples face that they were completely enamoured for each other. "A pendant?"
"I know how much you always wanted one, so me and Elijah worked on it but mother decorated it with a spell. It was meant for your birthday, but I couldn't wait."
"Would you put it on me?" She asked. He nodded as she turned lifting her long luscious hair out of the way. He put the pendant around her neck and clipped it up, letting it fall on her chest. She let her hair go as she looked down at it before turning back to the boy. "It's perfect," she whispered.
"Just like you." He replied as he leant down attaching their lips.

Mira frowned at the memory while staring at necklace, she always kept it. Never wanting to let go of the last thing she had to remember him apart from her memories.
Sometimes she wondered why she never went to find him or them, she never truly thought about why she didn't. She didn't know if it was because she knew things would never be what they once were considering they had became something unnatural or if she didn't want to be with them.
Her love for Niklaus Mikaelson never went away as neither did his, but both of them are now people who rarely show love to anyone so what would be the point of them being together. Maybe if he knew she were alive, things would be different for them both.
But it's not how it went, Mira only has her two best friends. Anyone else doesn't matter to her anymore. She's now a selfish cold hearted murderer that people whisper about. She hides in the shadows of the world killing anyone who disrespects her.
The Emberson girl shakily sighed, unclipping the pendant and slipping it off and into her pocket. Klaus Mikaelson always seemed to be on her mind and it frustrated her to no end, unbeknownst to her it was the same for him.
She picks up her things and speeds away from the room to her car that Adelaide seem to already be leaning on. "You ready?" She asked,
"Mystic Falls here we come." And they were off on the road trip to the small chaotic town, with no idea what they were in for.
Mira and Addie are definitely brotp! I hope you enjoyed the first chapter <3
