In the woods near the Falls Stefan arrives at the party and uses his vampire hearing to listen for Elena.

"First of all that's creepy," Kai says munching on some food as he glares at Stefan.

"And second of all why have a party in the woods? It's like you are asking for something thing to happen," Kai continues shaking his head at the idiocy.

"You know I don't want to say it but...he might be right," Caroline says nodding her head with a grimace on her face while Elena and Bonnie nod.

"I'm always right," Kai responds as the three girls give him deadpanned looks knowing that was a lie. 

"Just admit it, Elena," Bonnie tells the brunette who smiles shaking her head slightly.

"Oh, okay, so he's a little pretty," Elena tells Bonnie.
"He has that romance novel stare," Bonnie tells her making Elena laugh at that as Caroline walks up to Stefan.

"Ugh! Can we skip this?!" Caroline exclaims cringing at her human self as Elena looks confused.

"Hey! You made it!" Caroline says excitedly making Stefan nod at her.

"I did," Stefan tells her with a polite smile.
"Well, let's get you a drink," Caroline tells him. 
"Well, I'm--," Stefan tries to say but Caroline grabs his arm.

"Oh, come on," Caroline tells him as Stefan looks over to Bonnie and Elena who are still talking.

"Sorry Stefan," Caroline cringes making Stefan smile at her shaking his head.

"It's fine Care," Stefan tells her making Caroline smile at him softly while Hope smiles and Henry rolls his eyes.

"So where is he?" Bonnie questions as Elena shrugs looking around.

"I don't know. You tell me, you're the psychic one," Elena says with a smile on her face as Bonnie nods.

"Right, I forgot. Okay, so give me a sec. Grams says I have to concentrate," Bonnie says playing along as Elena tries not to laugh.

"Wait, you need a crystal ball," Elena tells her as she grabs a beer bottle and goes to hand it to Bonnie. Bonnie takes it and touches Elena's hand. Bonnie spaces out for a while, comes back to her senses, and abruptly pulls her hand back.

"What?" Elena questions worriedly as Bonnie stares at her.

"That was weird. When I touched you, I saw an alter," Bonnie says making Elena stare at her.

"What?" Elena questions confused.

"An alter. There was blood, a man. I'm drunk. It's the drinking. There's nothing psychic about it. Yeah? Ok, I'm gonna get a refill," Bonnie says as she grabs Elena's cup and walks away quickly leaving Elena alone.

Klaus stares at that and smirks knowing what the little witch saw as Henry rolls his eyes at his father.

"Yes it's that and you do, but clearly you screwed something up. Not surpassing though," Henry tells his father making Klaus glare at him while Henry crosses his arms giving him an emotionless look.

"I'm guessing you two have some bad blood," Kol states making Henry scoff at that.

"That's an understatement," Hope mutters rolling her eyes at her twin.

"It's a long story," Hope tells her uncle as she snatches her brother's hand and interlocks it with her rubbing smoothing circles on his knuckles before leaning closer to him.

"I know you are mad at him. I am too, but Mom loved him. She understood why he did it, Henry. We need to forgive him," Hope whispers as Henry glares at her.

"Never. He left her. He told her he loved her and left her like she was nothing, Hope. We were there. We saw how it hurt her even if she tried to hide it. I'll never forgive him or Elijah for what they did to Mom. We lost her because of them," Henry tells Hope as he gets up walking toward his Mom.

Elena looks at Henry and smiles making Henry sit beside her looking at the screen. Hope sighs understanding why but hating it at the same time.

"Okay? Bonnie!" Elena exclaims as she turns around Stefan is behind her making her jump.

"That was creepy!" Jenna exclaims trying to calm down her racing heart.

"Hi," Stefan greets her.
"Hi," Elena tells him smiling as she tries to calm down her racing heart as Stefan looks at her.

"I did it again, didn't it?" Stefan questions making Elena laugh.

"Yeah," Elena tells him nodding her head.
"I'm sorry. You're upset about something," Stefan says making Elena look at him.

"Oh, uh, no, it's- it's just Bonnie. She's...You know what? Never mind. You're...here," Elena says smiling making Stefan smile back at her.

"I'm here," Stefan tells her.

"That was...cringy," Caroline says simply making Elena nod cringing herself.

"I think I should be angry regarding you just writing me off," Bonnie says making Elena open and close her mouth.

"I'm joking. It was a while ago," Bonnie tells her placing a hand on Elena's shoulder who smiles at her. 

"I'm still sorry," Elena says making Bonnie nod at her smiling.

"It's fine Lena," Bonnie says making Elena nod but still feel guilty. She should have gone after Bonnie not stayed with Stefan, but it was like she couldn't.

On the bridge near the party, Stefan and Elena walk side by side across it.

"You know, you're kind of the talk of the town," Elena tells Stefan with a teasing smile as Stefan looks at her.

"Am I?" Stefan asks although already knowing he was.
"Mmm hmm. Mysterious new guy, oh, yeah," Elena tells him teasing.

"Well, you have the mysterious thing going, too. Twinged in sadness," Stefan says making Elena stop at that as she looks at him before she begins walking away.

"Dude...you have zero game," Kai says shaking his head as Stefan glares at him but Kol laughs loudly.

"Why would you say she looks sad?! That's bloody ridiculous. Say she looks hot or reminds you of your ex," Kol says seriously before busting out laughing Elena chuckles at that before pausing slightly.

Would Stefan have even looked at her if she didn't look like Katherine?

"What makes you think that I'm sad?" Elena questions Stefan.

"A lot of things," Kai states making Elena throw a handful of popcorn at him as Kai stares at the popcorn before looking at Elena and then back at the popcorn with a shrug he picks up a piece and eats it.

Elena stares at him before sighing shaking her head done with the idiot.

"Well, we did meet in a graveyard," Stefan tells Elena who nods at that slightly.

"Right. Well, no, technically we met in the men's room," Elena corrects smiling slightly before it completely falls as she shakes her head.

"You don't want to know, it's....it's not exactly party chit-chat," Elena says as Stefan stares at her.

"Well, I've never really been very good at, uh, chit-chat," Stefan tells Elena who takes a deep breath.

"Last spring...my parents' car drove off of a bridge into the lake. And I was in the backseat and I survived, but...they didn't. So that's my story," Elena says as she looks down and continues to walk Stefan stopping, but once Elena notices him not walking she turns to look at him.

"You won't be sad forever, Elena," Stefan tells her after a moment making Elena take in a shaky breath before releasing it with a nod of her head.

"I understand," Jenna whispers to Alaric who looks at her confused.

"Why she stayed after finding out the truth. She was drowning and Stefan was the air she needed then," Jenna tells Alaric who nods at that looking at the girl on the screen and then the Elena in the theater. They were different.

"I like Bonnie, she seems like a good friend," Stefan tells Elena as the two lean against the bridge.

"Well thanks for your approval," Bonnie tells Stefan who blushes at that as Elena tries not to laugh.

"One of the best friends in the world. Caroline is the other. The three of us grew up together and have been inseparable since we were babies," Elena says smiling as she thinks about her two best friends who were more like sisters to her.

"Aww we love you too," Caroline says as she hugs Elena who rolls her eyes playfully but a smile on her face.

"Nope. She's my Mom," Henry says pulling Elena away from Caroline with a glare. Caroline stole his Mom as much as her evil wicked twins of the West.

Elena chuckles as she pats Henry's head before removing his hair from in front of his eyes with a soft smile on her face.

"And Matt, he can't seem to, uh, take his eyes off of us," Stefan says tilting his head towards where Matt, Caroline, and Bonnie stood under the bridge across from them. Bonnie and Caroline talking while Matt is drinking from a beer staring at the two.

"Ugh he's obsessed with you Ellen," Kai says making Elena rub the bridge of her nose.

"Shut it, Kip," Elena says making Kai smirk at her. He liked her. It was weird he didn't like anyone at all. He prefers to kill them instead. Emotions were weird and disgusting. Kai did not like them.

"Matt's that friend since childhood that you started dating because you owe it to yourselves to see if you can be more," Elena explains as Stefan looks at her.

"And?" Stefan questions making Elena take a deep breath.

"So many questions mate she just met you," Kol states scoffing.

"And then my parents died, and everything changed. Anyway, Matt and I, together we just, I don't know, it wasn't, um...it wasn't...," Elena says as she trails off trying to find the right word as Stefan looks at her.

"Passionate?" Stefan questions her making Elena nod slightly.

"No. No, it wasn't passionate...," Elena tells him as Stefan's eyes start to change.

"I understand that. Matt does not understand passion at all. He's either asking are you okay is this good for you? Or stingy! Do you know how many times he's done on me? Once! Only once but always wants me to but I don't!" Caroline says huffing as she rolls her eyes while Elena nods.

"He never once went down on me. The first one to us Stefan," Elena says making Caroline look at her wide-eyed before shrugging.

"Believe me you are not missing anything. He's terrible," Caroline says making Elena laugh loudly at that.

A throat is suddenly cleared making Caroline and Elena immediately tense before they look over to see Jenna and Liz staring at them their arms crossed.

"I might she forgotten that other people were around," Caroline mutters making Elena nod.

"Same," Elena whispers but sort of scared.

"Do we need to have the talk again?" Liz questions the girls whose eyes widen and immediately shake their heads still traumatized from the first talk. Elena's father brought diagrams and explained them. The most horrific and traumatizing two hours of their lives.

"Are you sure?" Jenna questions pointing towards Henry and Hope who looked disgusted staring at their Mom.

"100%!" Elena and Caroline respond immediately sharing wide-eyed looks.

"I think you should," Kol says smirking as Kai nods.

"You should! In as much detail as possible!" Kai says excitedly making Elena and Caroline both throw popcorn at the two with glares on their faces.

"You make them give that talk again I will stick something somewhere or steal whatever stupid dagger you're afraid of and shove it somewhere!" Elena tells Kol throwing popcorn at him as Kol smirks thinking she looks like an adorable little angry puppy.

"Hey, um, are you okay? Um, Your eye, it just, it's--," Elena begins to say worriedly.

"Oh, um...Yeah, no. It's, um, it's nothing. Um, are you thirsty? I'm gonna get us a drink," Stefan says before leaving quickly as Elena watches confused.

Later at the party, Elena looks around for Stefan just as Matt walks up to her.

"Looking for someone?" Matt questions Elena who looks at him slightly wide-eyed.

"Hey," Elena says simply as Matt looks at her with sad puppy dog eyes.

"I see it," Kol says nodding his head understanding what Caroline and Elena were saying as the two try not to laugh.

"When you broke up with me, you said it was because you needed some time alone. You don't look so alone to me," Matt tells Elena with a hurt look in his voice.

"That was because she was trying to put you down gently. She's been planning it for months," Bonnie says as Caroline nods while Elena sighs at that. She still felt bad for sort of stringing him alone for so long because she was scared to leave and break the idea everyone had for her and Matt.

"Matt, you don't understand. It's--," Elena begins to say as Matt interrupts her.

"That's okay, Elena. You do what you have to do. I just want to let you know that...I still believe in us. And I'm not giving up on that," Matt says making Elena look at him.

"And I hate that. He always interrupts someone," Caroline huffs annoyed before pausing as she tilts her head. Why was she so upset that they broke up again?

"Matt...," Elena calls out as he walks away while Stefan watches across the party about to head towards Elena when someone stops him.

"Hey! There you are. Have you been down to the falls yet? Because they are cool at night. And I can show you...if you want," Caroline says staring at Stefan who looks at her.

"Ugh! Someone please slap the past me!" Caroline begs with her hands over her face.

"I miss drunk Care! We had the most chaotic and cringy moments with her," Elena says making Caroline glare at her as Bonnie nods laughing.

"So many! Remember when she accidentally drunk-dialed your Dad? He thought something was wrong and called the cops! Her Mother!" Bonnie says laughing as Elena laughs even harder as Caroline tries not to but bust at laughing.

"We were all grounded for months and Caroline was so angry because we missed cheer camp," Elena says chuckling as Bonnie and Caroline laugh with her.

"I think you've had too much to drink," Stefan tells her with a polite smile.

"Well, of course I have. So—," Caroline says but Stefan cuts her off.

"Caroline. You and me, it's not gonna happen. Sorry," Stefan says before walking away as Caroline looks down sadly.

Elena pauses at that staring at the screen in disbelief.

"Caroline Elizabeth Forbes! Why didn't you tell me this happened?!" Elena exclaims as Caroline winces.

"I was embarrassed," Caroline says making Elena wrap her arms around her.

"Caroline I've seen you fall face first in your face after tripping over air and I picked you up only for both of us to laugh next. I've been beside you when we learned to use tampons. Sex talks. Milkshake snorts. You can tell me everything no judgment. Ever," Elena tells her simply making Caroline smile.

"None judgment breakfast club," Caroline says with her pinky out to Elena who smiles at her.

"Forever and always," Elena says interlocking her pinky with Caroline's before the two interlocks theirs with Bonnie who laughs at them smiling.

Stefan then begins to approach Elena who was sitting on the railing and turns once she hears his footsteps.

"Hey, where have you been?" Elena questions smiling as Stefan smiles at her and begins to respond to tell her when Elena notices something behind him.

"You gotta be kidding me!" Elena exclaims suddenly making Stefan confused.

"What is it?" Stefan questions as Elena gets off of the railing.

"My brother," Elena says as she notices Jeremy crinkly stumbling towards the woods.

"Jeremy Grayson Gilbert! What the hell are you thinking?!" Jenna exclaims as she begins slapping the back of her nephew's head.

"Ouch! Stop hitting me in the head when you're mad! It hurts!" Jeremy exclaims making Jenna scoff.

"I'm trying to wake up some brain cells! I think the weed killed them all although," Jenna says scoffing making Jeremy scoff as well.

"Says the one who used to smoke as well. Where's your brain cells?" Jeremy asks her making Jenna open and close her mouth.

"I'm about to show you where they are," Jenna says as she goes to attack him making Jermey scream as he jumps towards Elena and Alaric wraps his arms around Jenna stopping her.

"Wait Jenna you used to smoke weed?!" Elena exclaims as she pushes Jeremy to the group who glares at her.

"Why are all the females in this family abusing me?!" Jeremy exclaims making Elena and Jenna give him a deadpanned look.

"I'm going to shut up now," Jermey mutters as he lies on the floor.

"Smart decision," Jenna and Elena tell him.

"The drunk one?" Stefan questions Elena who nods angrily.

"Really? The drunk one? Why couldn't you say handsome one or something?" Jeremy questions as Stefan just stares at him.

"Right," Jeremy mutters huffing done with this.

"That would be the one. Excuse me," Elena says heading towards where Jeremy went.

"Need some help?" Stefan asks her making Elena shake her head.

"Trust me, you're not going to want to witness this. Jeremy! Jeremy!" Elena calls out as she follows Jeremy into the woods.

"Elena! You don't follow someone into the woods?!" Jenna calls out pulling at her hair wondering if this was Miranda's punishment for all the things she's done as a teenager.

"Jeremy, where the hell are you going?" Elena calls out as she follows after her brother in the woods.

"I don't want to hear it!" Jeremy exclaims annoyed.
"Yeah, well, too bad!" Elena tells him equally as annoyed just as Jeremy suddenly trips over something.

Looking down he sees Vicki who is unconscious under him her neck bleeding.

"My bad," Damon says making everyone glare at him.

"Vicki? No! Oh, my god, it's Vicki!" Jeremy exclaims looking at Elena panicked who looks at Vicki wide-eyed.

"Oh, my gosh!" Elena exclaims in disbelief.
"No!" Jermey calls looking down at Vicki worriedly.

At the party, Elena and Jermey rush out of the woods holding an unconscious Vicki. Elena's jacket was now gone and pressed against Vicki's neck.

"Somebody help!" Elena screams making the music turned off and everyone looks at them.

"Vicki? Vicki, what the hell?!" Matt screams as he runs towards the three just as Elena and Jermey place her on one of the picnic tables.

"What happened to her?" Tyler questions wide-eyed.
"Somebody, call an ambulance!" Matt screams as people try to get a closer look.

"Everybody back up, give her some space!" Tyler yells as Elena presses her jacket to Vicki's neck worriedly.

"It's her neck. Something bit her. She's losing a lot of blood," Elena says panicky pressing the jacket harder to her neck trying to slow down the blood loss.

"Vicki, Vicki, come on, open your eyes, look at me," Matt calls to his sister who lies unconscious.

"She's unconscious due to blood loss," Kai says as if it's common knowledge before scoffing done with this idiot. He really wanted to just cut out his spleen or maybe lung.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan rushes in making his uncle/nephew Zach look at him worriedly.

"What's going on?" Zach questions worriedly.

"Someone else was attacked tonight, Zach, and it wasn't me," Stefan tells him as he rushes into his bedroom only for a crow to appear.

Stefan turns only to see a familiar face standing across from him at his balcony door.

"Damon," Stefan states.
"Hello, brother," Damon says staring at his baby brother.

"Crow's a bit much, don't you think?" Stefan questions his brother.

"Wait till you see what I can do with the fog," Damon says smirking.

"When'd you get here?" Stefan asks him as Damon looks at him with a mixture of sarcastic and angry looks on his face.

"Well, I couldn't miss your first day at school. Your hair's different. I like it," Damon tells Stefan making him sigh.

"It's been 15 years, Damon," Stefan says simply.

"Thank God. I couldn't take another day of the nineties. That horrible grunge look? Did not suit you. Remember, Stefan, it's important to stay away from fads," Damon tells with a brotherly voice but a smirk on his face.

"Why are you here?" Stefan questions him ignoring his earlier comment.

"I miss my little brother," Damon tells Stefan who looks at him with disbelief.

"You hate small towns. It's boring. There's nothing for you to do," Stefan tells him knowing his brother.

"I've managed to keep myself busy," Damon tells his brother smirking.

"You know, you left that girl alive tonight. That's very clumsy of you," Stefan tells his brother who doesn't lose his smirk.

"Ah. That can be a problem...for you," Damon tells Stefan.

"Why are you here now?" Stefan questions Damon.

"I could ask you the same question. However, I'm fairly certain your answer can be summed up all into one little word...Elena," Damon says making Stefan tense up.

"Creepy," Kai mutters making Kol nod staring at the two brothers.

"Did you two really try to just replace your ex with her doppelgänger? That's messed up even for me," Kol states simply shaking his head.

"It's not like that," Stefan says shaking his head while Elena stares wondering if it was just like that.

At the party in the woods, Matt leaves by ambulance with Vicky as Elena watches worriedly just as Bonnie walks up to her.

"Hey. We're gonna go to the Grill for coffee, wait for news," Bonnie says making Elena look at her.

"I gotta take Jeremy home," Elena says looking at her brother worriedly.

"Elena, there's no way I'm psychic. I know that. But whatever I saw, or I think I saw, I have this feeling...," Bonnie says making Elena look at her confused.

"Bonnie, what?" Elena questions as Bonnie takes a deep breath.

"That it's just the beginning," Bonnie tells Elena who pauses at that.

"And I was right," Bonnie mutters sighing slightly.

Back at the Salvatore Boarding House Damon walks around Stefan's room as Stefan watches him.

"She took my breath away. Elena. She's a dead ringer for Katherine. Is it working, Stefan? Being around her, being in her world? Does it make you feel alive?" Damon questions his brother as Stefan shakes his head.

"She's not Katherine," Stefan says sternly leaving no room for argument.

"Well, let's hope not. We both know how that ended," Damon says smirking as Stefan glares at him.

Damon and Stefan share a look before glaring at Katherine who finger waves at them.

"Tell me something, when's the last time you had something stronger than a squirrel?" Damon questions Stefan who shakes his head.

"Wait what?" Kol questions staring in disgust as Klaus smirks remembering the Stefan he knew. The ripper.

"I know what you're doing, Damon. It's not gonna work," Stefan tells his brother as Damon walks towards him.

"Yeah? Come on. Don't you crave a little?" Damon questions his brother as he begins to start hitting Stefan.

"Stop it," Stefan tells his brother.

"Let's do it. Together. I saw a couple girls out there. Or just, let's just cut to the chase, let's just go straight for Elena," Damon says raising his voice trying to get a raise out of Stefan.

Henry glares and goes to stand up making Hope pull him down with a shake of her head.

"No," Hope tells him simply as Henry goes to object Hope shakes her head placing a hand over his mouth.

"Nope," Hope says making Henry sigh annoyed glaring at his sister who smirks at him.

"Stop it!" Stefan exclaims turning around.
"Imagine what her blood tastes like!" Damon yells as Stefan's face transforms.

"I can," Damon says with a smirk on his face.
"I said stop!" Stefan screams as he runs into Damon, throwing him out of the window. When he lands on the pavement, Damon isn't there.

"That was terrible," Kai says shaking his head and laughing while Stefan glares at his brother who smirks at him.

"I was impressed. I give it a six. Missing style, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very good with the whole face...thing. It was good," Damon says lean making Stefan look towards him.

"You know, it's all fun and games, Damon, huh? But wherever you go, people die," Stefan tells his brother.

"That's a given," Damon says as if dying was nothing to him and it was.

"Not here. I won't allow it," Stefan tells him sternly.

"Then you should have left," Caroline says as if it were simple making Bonnie and Elena slap her arms Ashe shrugs.

"What? I'm not lying. Where Stefan goes Damon follows," Caroline says making Damon scoff as Stefan sighs knowing she was right.

"I take that as an invitation," Damon tells his brother who sighs at him.

"Damon, please. After all these years, can't we just give it a rest?" Stefan begs his brother.

"I promised you an eternity of misery, so I'm just keeping my word," Damon tells Stefan who shakes his head.

"At least he takes his word seriously," Kol says shrugging making Elijah glare at him done with his brother.

"Just stay away from Elena," Stefan tells his brother as Damon stares at him before changing the subject.

"Where's your ring? Oh, yeah, sun's coming up in a couple of hours, and, poof, ashes to ashes. Relax. It's right here," Damon says as he goes to hand him back the ring he took but instead, Damon grabs Stefan by the throat and throws him against the garage.

"You should know better than to think you're stronger than me. You lost that fight when you stopped feeding on people. I wouldn't try it again. I think we woke Zach up. Sorry, Zach," Damon says as he walks into the Salvatore boarding school house while Zach and Stefan watch him go.

In the woods, Jeremy leans against the railing as he drinks a beer just as Elena walks towards him.

"You okay? I called Jenna, she's on her way," Elena says but Jeremy doesn't say anything.

"Those people in uniforms, last time I checked, they're the police," Elena tells her brother making Jermey throw his bottle down as Elena sighs.

"People are going to stop giving you breaks, Jer. They just don't care anymore. They don't remember that our parents are dead because they've got their own lives to deal with. The rest of the world has moved on. You should try, too," Elena tells Jeremy who looks towards her.

"I've seen you in the cemetery writing in your diary. Is that--is that supposed to be you moving on?" Jeremy questions Elena who sighs at that sitting grabbing one of the beer bottles and taking a sip.

"Mom and Dad wouldn't have wanted this," Elena whispers before handing Jeremy the bottle who drinks from it.

Jeremy doesn't say anything but places his hand in Elena's who looks at him with tears in her eyes.

"I love you. You know that right?" Elena questions Jeremy who looks towards her and nods his head.

Elena releases a breath as she lays her head on his shoulder.

"I love you too," Jeremy tells Elena kissing the top of her head as a few tears fall down her cheeks.
