Before Rue Bennett went into rehab, she had a girlfriend. Elena Hernandez. Kat Hernandez's sister. Well, technically half sister. They share the same mom.

Rue and Elena had been dating since sophomore year. They met through Fezco at the corner store. The two were both addicts, and they found comfort in each other. They both knew what the other was going through, and were always there for each other.

When Rue overdosed and went to rehab, they broke up. Not because they didn't love each other, just because it was gonna be hard to keep up their relationship when they couldn't be together. But Elena promised to wait for Rue.

When Rue gets out, she goes to see Elena. Only to find out she had overdosed two weeks earlier. But Elena didn't survive.

How will Rue deal with the death of the girl she loved?

NOTES

-i did have this as a dixie d'amelio book, but i don't like her anymore and i didn't like how i wrote it. and i like it better as a rue book anyways.

-the book starts with rue getting out of rehab and finding out elena passed.

-definitely add flashback chapters!

-this is based off the song dancing with your ghost by sasha sloan which was in euphoria which makes it better as a euphoria fic.
