UNBEARABLE tension was felt in the Jutul's car. Viola felt incredibly uncomfortable and wished she had asked Fjor to hangout over the weekend. But she knew Magne needed answers and fast and the longer they waited the more stories would be brought up as an excuse for the death of their friend.

She glanced down to her phone that shook in her hands, her brows furrowed at the text Magne had sent her. Just as she imagined Yngvild had changed Isolde's case into 'bad winds' she let out a scoff before shutting her phone.

"Everything okay?" Fjor asked as she gave a curt nod. Of course not.

"Fucking awesome double--date, huh?" Laurits called out from the book to no one in particular.

"We are not on a date." Viola spoke up before Fjor could utter a word.

"We're not dating either, Laurits." Saxa denied a look of distaste on her face.

"Who said I was talking about you anyway?" Laurits asked Saxa as he looked to Fjor.

"Now, you're way off." Fjor chimed in.

Laurits leaned forwards, his head peered behind Fjor's driver's seat. "Well, Fjor, maybe it's time for some real music." He said as Fjor switched stations and Solen Sortner played throughout the car.

Viola glanced around her seeing everyone into the foreign song. Her head tilted at the beat and words, "What language is this?"

Fjor glanced to his sister who was already starring at him through the rear view mirror. "Does it sound familiar?" Fjor asked simply as Saxa sent him a glare.

"I--I don't know." She murmured starring at the lit up screen on the dashboard.

"Icelandic." Saxa spoke up as Laurits' brows furrowed. Fjor glanced to his sister who shrugged lightly.

"Huh. I must say, I'm surprised my sister even gave you the time of day, Fjor." Laurits said as Viola shifted in her seat praying her brother would stay quiet.

"Why's that? We're friends." Fjor said glancing to Viola.

"I mean, you brought Gry to the dance. And I don't know, thought my sister was into - a different type." Laurits said with a grin glancing to Saxa who rolled her eyes at him.

"Can you shut up." Viola gritted out placing her hand on the door's arm rest.

"I mean Saxa is pretty, smart, bold." Laurits listed off looking at the blonde, "Confident, maybe even conceited."

"I'm not conceited." Saxa bit back. Fjor smirked at his sister's defensiveness.

"Then there's Fjor, who's more like handsome and grave, mysterious." Laurits trailed off, "Kinda like you, Vi. Just thought the whole opposites attract thing was real. I mean you'd always get annoyed when you'd see him and now you guys are . . . best buddies." Viola's jaw tightened as did her grip on the door.

"Laurits." Viola warned.

"And what's that old language?" Laurits asked the siblings who glanced to one another with hard eyes.

A thud startled the four on the car's windshield.

"Hey, wait! That was a bird." Saxa called out looking back through the rear window. "Shit, stop, stop." She ordered. "We have to check if it's alive." Saxa said nodding subtly to her brother.

Viola reached for her belt only to have Fjor halt her movements. She frowned as he and his sister exited the vehicle.

Viola turned to her brother who tilted his head at her almost menacingly. "What do you think you're doing?"

"I don't know, dear sister, I was going to ask you the same thing."

"I'm trying to make friends, kinda need some." She lied.

Laurits rose a brow, "You're gonna have to try a lot harder if you think I'll believe that." He said pointing to his, "It's a twin thing, you know this." Viola's jaw locked, a look of realization struck her brother, "You wanna know if Vidar broke in. You believe Magne? Why the hell would he of all people break in? Seriously, Vi."

"I don't know okay. But it is weird how he wasn't there and the guy next door who hasn't left his trailer since we moved in sees a four by four--" She pointed around her into the vehicle they currently sat in, "And says, Vidar Jutul. You don't think that's worth looking into instead of saying, 'oh, he's a junkie he doesn't know anything.' It doesn't make sense. Something is going on."

"And like Magne you have to figure it out?" Laurits asked, "You were never like this, now you're siding with him?"

"I'm siding with family, Laurits. I'm not siding with who ever has the biggest house and the latest details on the next party in town." She exasperated, "I thought you'd at least understand."

Laurits' lips parted at her words that struck a nerve in him. He sat back in his seat silently.

Outside the car the Jutul siblings as well, had a mini spat between them two and their instructions curtesy of their parents.

"Why'd you bring Laurits? He's always asking these weird questions." Fjor asked his sister who was kneeling over the wounded bird.

"I'm trying to find out more about Viola and Magne. Remember? But you seem to only be interested in Viola. I knew it should have been me to get to know her and you with Magne. You're letting your emotions cloud your judgement, brother."

"I don't have feelings for her." He denied. Though the feeling in his chest said otherwise.

"No?" She asked challengingly, "Memories of centuries past isn't haunting you?" Fjor shook his head, "When you first saw her you didn't think for one second it could be her?" She asked knowing the answer already.

"Viola is nothing like her." Fjor defending the raven haired girl as Saxa scoffed.

Saxa shook her head at her brother's naive words, "That's not what father wants to hear. You better hope for her sake, she's exactly like her."

Fjor nodded with a frown, "Okay." Saxa picked up the bird delicately, "It's still alive." He noted, but soon after Saxa shoved it in her mouth.

Swallowing she pulled out its tail, "No it isn't." She denied.

The two entered the car into an even more tense atmosphere between the Seier siblings.

"Did we miss anything?" Saxa asked strapping her seatbelt on.

"No, nothing at all." Viola shook her head ignoring her twin's burning gaze onto the side of her face.

AT the Jutul's residence Vidar entered with a wide grin on his face. His children and wife threw axes against the wall where as the man in the suit walked over behind the bar and announced, "You will never believe how lucky one can be. Magne Seier is dead." He announced happily.

Fjor felt his stomach drop, Saxa glanced to her brother glaring at him not to speak though he did. "And his sister?"

Vidar looked at his son and shook his head, "Of course not."

"Did you . . ." Ran asked as the three walked over to Vidar who began opening the fridge for a bottle of champagne.

"No, no, no, I had nothing to do with it." Vidar shook his head, "I happened to see him downtown. He crossed the street without looking. Bam. A snowplow. Farewell, Magne Seier." He shrugged.

Fjor looked down upon his father's giddy behaviour. "So why are we toasting to the fact that our classmate is dead, huh?" Fjor questioned.

"Do you realize what this will mean at school? Viola will be even more secluded from us -- from anyone." Saxa argued. "And we're all going to have to start grieving again, and I'm not good at it. It's not my thing." She pouted.

Fjor grabbed his phone from his pocket and frowned not seeing any texts or phone calls from a certain raven haired girl. He shoved his phone into his pocket, "Why are you so happy, anyways? You didn't even know him."

Vidar smirked, as Ran spoke, "One might say that this is all very convent for Vidar, since Magne Seier had started investigating Isolde's death. Though what are we to do about the sister."

Vidar's jaw clenched, "She will be dealt with."

Fjor looked away as Saxa now spoke up, "Are you fucking serious? You murdered Isolde?"

Vidar ignored his children and said simply, "Can we just say that it's dangerous to paraglide." He asked, "And now that I'm thinking about it, have you gotten a better understanding on the girl? Has she said anything about her past?"

Fjor shook his head, "No. Just about her father." He said as Vidar rolled his eyes. "If she dies then we won't know more about her. We could use an ally." He explained.

Saxa looked from her brother to their father.

"Maybe, Fjor is right." Saxa shrugged at the three looked at her she shrugged. "As for Isolde how did she . . ."

"She discovered the tunnel up at the glacier." Ran informed her children.

"Didn't we block off that area?" Fjor asked.

"Huh?"

"Yeah, but the ice has receded faster than originally expected." Vidar explained to Fjor. "There are cracks leading into the tunnel." He explained filling up the glasses with champagne. "And we could discuss how smart it was to hide that crap in the first place. Should that ever be discovered we will have one hell of a problem."

"Well, it was done in 1967. That's how it was done." Fjor argued. "Everyone did it. The glacier was absolutely huge."

"You could have included us in the council." Ran said in a bitter tone.

"You were still children." Fjor explained.

"Children weren't included in the council back then." Saxa added.

"It would seem children still aren't included." Fjor concluded.

"We've been saved by destiny. You have anything else to say you say it to my face. So, why don't we see this as some kind of sign?"

Ran shook her head, "No, it's not a sign." She denied, "This is a warning. We've come far too close to the humans. We've let down our guard. We don't know if Viola or Hela, whatever her bloody name is her or a reincarnation of sorts. Then I agree, we need an ally. As for others, we shouldn't be getting close with anyone, shouldn't look weak or stupid." Fjor looked at his mother who looked back at him, "But there you are pissing on flowers." She said looking to Fjor who looked down.

"Or having dirty sex with students." Saxa defended her brother at her mother's actions. She shrugged as her husband looked to her.

"Or murdering a seventeen year old girl." Fjor added looking to his father who didn't show an ounce of regret.

"Ran is right. We have to get our shit straight. We can't let humans get too close to us. No more best friends." Vidar said Saxa rolled her eyes, "No more girlfriends." Fjor looked away, "They're not like us and we're not like them. Understand?"

"Yeah." Saxa nodded taking her drink.

"Yes." Ran agreed.

The three looked to Fjor waiting. His jaw clenched as he met his father's eyes, "Understood?"

"Yea."

"YOU'RE sure you're okay?" Viola questioned her brother for what seemed like the millionth time once he had gotten home. "Your clothes are totally trashed, how--"

"I don't know." He shook his head, "I--I don't know, Vi. I explained what happened, and I look even better than when I left the house this morning."

"Well . . ." She trailed off jokingly as Magne sent her a look, "Kidding." She said taking a seat on his bed next to him. "Well, thank you." Magne looked at his sister in confusion, "For not dying on me." She uttered as her doe eyes breamed with tears, Magne frowned. "Don't think I can do another funeral to last me a life time."

"I'm sorry."

Viola shook her head, "Coming here was a bad idea." She said wiping at her nose.

"I think we were meant to be here." Magne voiced up as Viola looked at him in confusion. "Like fate or something."

Viola shook her head, "We were meant to feel grief and pain? I think we've felt it enough and I don't need it anymore."

Magne looked ahead of him as a childlike grin made its way onto his lips, "Remember when papa would take us on a sled into town for ice cream?" Magne asked.

Viola smiled lightly, "In the middle of December." She nodded, "Mama would get mad 'cause she didn't want us to get sick."

"Yeah. But, you and Laurits always wanted some every night before bed. Think papa convinced her it was important for kids to have a sweet before bed." He chuckled. "Don't know how she believed him."

"She believed everything papa said. Like when we made cookies this one time. Laurits was eating the chocolate chips and I think I was eating the batter. Laurits and I were fighting about who should get the one weird cookie papa always made last with the rest of the dough." She rambled as Magne smiled, "It was dumb but papa liked hearing us bicker. I ended up hitting the bowl and it fell, cookie batter everywhere." Viola giggled sadly, she wiped under her eyes at her fallen tears. "Mama came down with you and was freaking out over the mess."

"I remember! You and Laurits had chocolate all over your faces hands, you guys dirtied her favourite China set somehow."

Viola nodded, "She didn't get mad or argue with us." She said as her chest ached, "She laughed." She smiled, "Papa put icing on her nose, that he had found in the pantry." She giggled, a pained one. "We were normal." Magne wiped his eyes with the back of his sleeve, "I haven't talked about him in - what? Years. I always thought ignoring something until it goes away helps but it just gets worse." She admitted shamefully.

Magne wrapped his arm around her shoulder, "We made a packed." He said into her thick hair, recalling the day the buried their father. The day their lives turned upside down.

"Sometimes always and forever isn't forever." She whispered.

Magne looked to his doorway seeing Laurits watching them two with equally sad eyes. "For us it does. In our family always is forever." He said as she whimpered into his chest.
