ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย  BOREDOM was written on the teenager's face glancing out of the moving car's window. Her plump lips were pulled into a frown as she flipped a page from her book, whilst she listened to her music on shuffle. Her mother glanced between her children every so often seeing the three off in their own worlds.

Another move was in store for the Seier family.

Something they had become accustomed to at this point in their young teenage life. But moving back to the same town their father had passed in -- wasn't something Viola Seier ever imagined would happen.

The wind blew through the ajar window next to the freckled faced girl. Her hair softly hit her face as she observed their surroundings, mountains surrounded them. A blanket of snow on them.

She slightly rose her brow, it was a beautiful sight. The lake, the trees it screamed -- nature. She'd be lying if she said it wasn't pretty, it held qualities her old towns didn't, beauty was one of them.

"Say hello to your mother's new office." Turid Seier said with a bright smile pointing to the right of them. The teenagers looked at the building.

Viola scrunched up her nose as did her twin, "What a dump." He said seeing the fumes waft the air of Edda. Magne glanced to his brother who returned back to his gaming device tuning them out.

"Come on, Laurits, this is a lovely little town." Turid said glancing back at her children, "Do you remember anything from when we lived here?" She asked the three.

Viola removed an ear bud and looked at the old building pass them by, "No." She mumbled.

It was true she hadn't a memory of the town itself, she tended to block out her past as thoughts of her father haunted her. With her brother's 'needs', she to had suffered from their father's death, they all dealt with it in different ways. For Magne it showed through him academically, Laurits became colder to everyone around him using sarcasm as a defence mechanism. And for Viola it was ignoring a problem until it would make its way back to her, even if it meant refusing to acknowledge what happened to Asbjรธrn Seier.

She subconsciously touched the old leather watch on her wrist, she starred ahead out the windshield.

"It'll be great here." Their mother assured them.

"Shut the window, it's cold." Laurits said to his sister who ignored him, he jammed his finger into her shoulder as she whipped her head around and glared at him.

"Want a blankie?" She said in a mock high voice.

"You're so funny, I forgot to laugh." He said as she rolled her eyes and turned around rolling up the window only for it to get stuck. He sighed adjusting his coat onto his slender figure and sat back.

"Hey, be careful old man." Turid said as she looked at the man in the scooter who drove in front of her at a steady pace.

"Come on, pull around the guy." Laurits said looking at the elderly man.

"Relax, he's probably turning." Viola said watching as the man came to a stop, his engine subsiding. "Or not . . ."

"Maybe he needs help." Magne suggested reaching for his door handle and exiting the vehicle.

The three watch Magne approach the older man.

"Oh, for fucks sake." Laurits exhaled dramatically.

"Wouldn't you want someone to help you when you're an old grouch?" Viola asked sparring him a glance.

Laurits smiled sarcastically at the raven haired girl, "If I make it to that age."

"Dark."

"Relatable." He corrected with a smirk.

"What am I going to do with you two?" Turid asked herself shaking her head at the two who shrugged at the woman. "That's what Magne's like." She said with a small smile at her son.

Viola's brows furrowed, she placed her book down as a woman approached the boy in glasses placing her hand on his face, her brother's face blanked for a moment before turning into confusion.

Unsettled by this, Viola peeked her head out the window, "Mag, come on." She said sending a tight lipped smile to the woman who observed her as she did with Magne. Viola shrunk back in her seat slightly. The woman looked back to Magne who began to back up slightly.

"Yeah, coming." He called out to his sister before entering the car.

"Can we go now?" Laurits asked as their mother nodded trying to start the car, the engine only sputtered.

"Roll up the window, Vi." Laurits said.

"It's stuck." She mumbled trying to roll the handle. Magne reached over and with one grasp it ripped off. Viola's eyes widened as did his, "Never mind . . ." She said quietly as her brother sat back starring at the object in his hand in confusion.

"It's gonna rain." Magne blurted out.

Turid looked back at her son, as Viola looked out the window in confusion, the sky was as blue as ever.

"Yeah, right. There isn't a cloud in the sky." Laurits denied shaking his head.

"The forecast promised nice weather the whole day--" Their mother explained but was quickly cut off by the sound of pouring rain. Viola's eyes widened at the sudden down pour. She glanced back to Laurits then to Magne who both wore looks of confusion.

Weird.

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  THE red hatchback entered a lone street as you could see the true age of the small town around them. Viola's doe eyes scanned the old homes, a trailer park was to their left. Her thick brows knitted together, odd, she thought.

What neighbourhood has a trailer park next door?

She admired old homes, Victorian homes to be precise. However they were anything but that. She wouldn't be surprised if the house they'd be residing in was haunted or the houses around her were.

She didn't remember much but she was sure she didn't remember her grandmother's neighbourhood being a trailer park for druggies and random folk. She eyed the man on the pull out chair in the middle of the winter, throwing back a bottle of whatever liquid it was.

Odd.

Everything felt -- odd.

"Do you guys remember anything about grandma's?" Turid asked her children removing the key from the ignition of her car.

"Nah, not really." Laurits shook his head.

"Did she always live in -- a lovely place like this?" Viola asked scrunching up her nose and sitting up in her seat getting a closer look at the old house.

"Yes." Turid nodded, a small frown on her lips as she looked at the dark haired girl. "You'll all get familiar and remember when we settle down." She said assuringly.

Viola glanced back to her mother then out the car's window at the house.

The four exited the small car.

"Great, we get to live next to bums and drug dealers." Laurits said looking around them, disgust was evident on the boy's face.

"Maybe they can get you a job?" Turid joked as Viola smirked to herself, Laurits rolled his eyes at the comment.

"Magne, grab that for me, please!" Turid asked the blonde who grabbed a box.

Viola grabbed her bag and threw it over her shoulder glancing to Laurits who grabbed his as well. "You feel that?" He asked as they walked in line towards their front door.

"That this town seems -- off?" She asked as he nodded. "Maybe mom's right, maybe it'll be good we're here and we're just worried about nothing." She suggested as he opened the front door with a raised brow.

"Our twin--tuition is never wrong." He said dramatically knowing she'd groan at the nicknames she'd give for them when they were younger. The two tended to blame odd occurrences between them two on it being a 'twin thing' when one would get hurt the other would feel slight pain in said area, or if they were sad they could sense it . . . it was a weird and childish thing Viola had come up with.

Or perhaps it was a way to get closer with the cold boy. No one really knew why the two were so attached to the hip despite them being polar opposites.

"I will hurt you." Viola warned with a glare. The boy smirked down at her, despite her being only 5'3 she could be intimating when she wanted to be towards others. She liked to think, that is. "And I got my own room, forgot to tell you." She said making her way up to the attic as her brother cursed under his breath.

Making her way up she eyed the single bed and placing her bag on top. Dust flew up, as she waved her hand back and forth letting out a cough.

She looked around the empty room; her empty room. She looked out the window seeing a clear view of the town. She averted her eyes to the built in bookshelves to the side of her room, a few books remained -- her grandmother's books.

Dust decorated the shelves and the books themselves, mindlessly she trailed her fingers against the spine of them, a trail of her touch remained.

Her head tilted at the titles of the books, grabbing a hold of one she ran the palm of her hand over one of the dusty and tattered books. "Norse" She muttered inspecting the cover. "Ragnarรถk. The end of the world. The Final clash between the gods and the giants." She read the small text.

"Viola! Come help!" Laurits shouted from below her.

"One second!" She said placing the book on the shelf before climbing down the ladder to assist her brothers with their boxes.

"Everything okay?" Magne asked the raven haired girl who nodded.

"Yeah."

ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  BEING the new student or students, was another thing the three had become accustomed to. Viola shifted as she and her brothers stood in front of the class silently. The teenagers before them observed each one as their teacher spoke to them informing them of their new students.

"Please give a warm welcome to our new students. These are, ah, Magne, Viola and Laurits Seier." Erik introduced the three to the class. "You wanna say something about yourselves?" He asked. The three remained quiet glancing to one another. "Yeah. Well, they're siblings. But not twins . . .?" He said unsurely until he glanced at Viola and Laurits.

"We actually are." Laurits said pointing between himself and Viola. "We skipped a few years, and ah, Magne he's good at . . . other stuff."

The class looked at the three unfazed.

"I'm dyslexic." Magne said after a moment of silence, a few snickered at the blunt statement.

Viola glanced between her brothers and sighed, feeling eyes on her she glanced to her left seeing a boy starring at her intimidatingly, she looked at the other students. A blonde casted her gaze on Magne.

"Yep. Okay, so I think we should start by finding some space for you three." Erik said as the three stood awkwardly in front of his class, deciding on not casting the three in more embarrassment he continued, "One of you can sit next to Gry." He pointed a the blonde who began to grab her things off the vacant desk next to her. Magne gaining an ounce of confidence began to make his way towards the blonde, Laurits watched his brother nervously shuffle over to her.

"Don't." Viola muttered but fell on deaf ears as Laurits quickly made his way over to Gry taking Magne's place with a smirk.

"Think I could fit in here." Laurits said looking up at his brother who stifled an eye roll.

"Ah, Magne you or Viola can sit next to Isolde or Fjor."

Viola looked to the back seeing a pretty girl with short hair, blue pieces framed her face. She nervously looked between the duo just as Magne began to approach her. He looked to Viola mentally asking if she'd prefer to sit there, she shook her head and offered a tight lipped smile before glancing to her left and seeing the boy who eyed her earlier, only now he wore a smirk leaning back in his chair.

She made her way over and placed her bag down on the desk.

The boy next to her held out his hand as he offered her a charming smile, showcasing his pearly whites. She glanced down at his hand and reluctantly shook it.

"Fjor." He introduced. "Viola? Like the colour?" Viola nodded slowly, "Viola." He repeated slowly to himself.

She glanced away from the boy, and opened her bag up. Her brows furrowed as she grabbed the old book placed neatly in her bag. "The hell . . ." She muttered, Fjor peered over her shoulder seeing the book in her hands, he squinted as he read the name to himself. Viola shoved the book into her bag and looked up at the boy with raised brows.

He simply smiled and raised his hands in surrender.

"Okay, then. We, um-- Let's pick up where we left off last time." Erik spoke to the class, "We were talking about Asatro, the religion of the vikings. I'lll give you three some texts that you can go over." He handed the three separate duotangs.

Fjor leant over and whispered to the raven haired girl, "Aurgelmir is something you should read about in Norse." He said startling Viola slightly as she looked up at him, he offered a small smile as she nodded slowly then looked down at the papers in front of her. Fjor's eyes trailed the side of her face before he returned his attention to the front of the class.ย ย

"Why is it of such particular interest to talk about the old Norse gods?" Viola looked to Fjor who looked at her in faux shock at their topic, "Especially right here in Edda? Gry?"

"Because Edda was the last town in Norway to become Christian." She answered. "And to give up faith in the Norse gods." She explained.

"Yes! That's correct."

Viola flipped through the book, her eyes falling from a drawing of Odin, to one of a woman, Hela. She tilted her head slightly at the drawing.

"One could say it all happened here." Erik said as he wrote on the chalk board, "Ragnarok. The end of the world. The Final clash between the god and the giants." Viola listened intently, as did the boy next to her. "The Gods represented law and order and the giants chaos. The balance of the world depended on the struggle between them. But the gods were betrayed and died, and what happened to the Giants, we don't know."

Viola's brows furrowed, "Kind of exciting, huh?" Fjor leaned over asking the girl who kept her gaze on the old drawing then looked up meeting his hazel irises.

"Sure . . ." She nodded looking away from him down to the book once more.
