chapter eight
the big scary ship

THE KIDS COME around a rock to reveal a big purple ship, with tentacles going into the bushes, "Look, there's the supply ship." Missy points out. "Just like Ojo's drawing!" She says as tentacles slither back into the bushes.

"Ew. Gross!" The kids complain.

"Shh. Keep it down!" Missy whispers in fear of getting caught. "Wait. Wait a second. Let's go." She starts running with Bella and the other kids right behind her. Everyone besides Slowmo begins to climb into the ship surrounding Wheels whos in the big chair.

"Shut the door and let's get out of here. Wheels, can you..." Missy gets cut off by him.

"No! We're not all here!"

"What? Who's missing?" Bella asks until it hits her, "Oh..." Everyone turns to see Slowmo running slow, halfway to the ship.

"Slowmo! Cut it out! Run!" Wildcard calls out. The tentacles rise from the bushes and look around.

"Hurry! They're coming back!" Guppy warns the older kids. Facemaker leans over to Wheels getting his attention.

"Ten to one says he's tentacled."

"Dude!"

"Come on, Slowmo!" The kids follow Rewinds lead and begin to shout encouragement to Slowmo, besides A Capella, who is vocalizing 'Chariots of fire'. The tentacles grow further to Slowmo causing Noodles to look to the group.

"All right, hold me down!" He says as 4 hands hold onto him. He reaches his arms out and grab him, bringing him back.

"Yes!" They cheer as Wheels closes the door. The tentacles slam onto the ship, causing everyone to scream, and Bella to hold onto the closes person, who happened to be Wildcard. She quickly lets go, and mutters a quick apology, with a rosy pink shade crossing both of their cheeks.

"Wheels, tell me you figured this out!" Bella pleads.

"It's incredibly intuitive." He explains pressing the green button, causing purple gunk to climb up the window. He presses another button causing everyone to fall back.

"Please just choose any button!" Missy calls out to the blond haired boy.

"It might be one of these." He presses another button. The purple gunk clears off the windows to reveal tentacles creating cracks. The kids scream as Guppy runs up and presses the red button. The engine starts and the ship fly's into the air.

Everyone looks out to the view as Noodles turns around, "But now what?"

"Don't worry. Any minute now, Ojo's gonna draw a picture of all of us smiling and hugging our parents." Missy looks over to Ojo. "Isn't that right, Ojo?" She shakes her head.

"Oh, that's just great." Bella mumbles.

"Hey... why did you choose me to share the idea of looking at Ojo's iPad?" Wildcard asks from beside Missy.

"I don't know. I guess I know how hard it feels when everyone expects so much from you, and you feel like you can't deliver." Missy says looking down.

"Do you believe I can?" He asks causing her to look up.

"We all believe you can." Missy smiles.

"Tell that to my parents." He mumbles

"I will, right after we rescue them." Missy pauses, "And Bella especially believes you can." Missy winks causing the raven haired boy's cheeks to heat up. He looks over to the blond haired girl to find her playing with Guppy and Perry.

The ship comes to a stop at the big ship, landing beside other small ships. "I'm gonna go check it out." Noodle stretches his neck out and looks around. Making sure it was clear first, he begins to back away, reconnecting his body and his head.

Noodles turns back to the group and gives the signal, "We're all good." Everyone begins to file out, Bella next to Wildcard with Guppy on her right side. Guppy's little hand in Bella's big hand.

"Am I just really small, or is this ship really big?" Guppy asks no one in particular.

"It's enormous." Bella adds looking around.

"Yeah. How are we gonna find our parents?" Fast-forward asks.

"I was thinking about that. Mrs. Granada found us really easily back at Grandma's house, and I think I know how, your bracelet." Wheels takes the silver bracelet off of Missy's wrist.

"I haven't been able to contact my dad." Said Missy. Wheels opens the bracelet to reveal a blue beeping light.

"But maybe the transmitter in here that connects the two bracelets works like a tracking device." He explains. "But I need a pair of pliers and a heat source."

"My teeth are strong because my dad's a shark." Guppy raises her hand and chomps her teeth together.

"Perfect."

"And I've got a heat source." Wildcard steps up. "Heat vision!" He exclaims turning into a toaster

"Now he's a toaster." Bella giggles, picking the toaster up.

"Close enough." Wheels takes the toaster.

Everyone comes around a corner with Missy, Bella and Wildcard in the lead. "Is it working?" Wheels asks looking forward a little.

Missy turns to look at him, "Well, it's leading us somewhere." They turn another coner before Missy turns to Wildcard, "Hey! That was really good back there."

"Turning into a toaster instead of making heat vision?" He asks confused.

"It was heat-related. That's real progress." Bella joins the conversation

"I guess it's progress." Wildcard mumbles.

"You just watch. Pretty soon, you'll be teleporting like it's nobody's business." Missy states.

"It's about belief." Bella finishes.

Um, guys..." A Capella gets everyone's attention. Noticing the rumbling below them A Capella asks, "Does anybody else hear that?" Everyone begins to look around.

"What is that?" The twins sync.

"It's below us." Wheels looks to the ground before looking back up,  "I can feel it." The sound begins to creep closer causing cracks in the floor. Wildcard grabs Bella waist pushing her against the wall next to him.  A tentacle shoots up from the floor a couple inches away from were Bella was standing. The kids begin to run, while the tentacle follows them creating a long crack in the ground. They stop coming to a fork in the road.

"Which way?"

"That way!" Missy points to two big doors. The kids begin to run while the doors open, letting them in. Before they could get in a tentacle shot up from the ground. Scaring the kids the tentacle came at them. A Capella begins to sing making her eyes glow gold. The kids scurry into the room to find a giant pyramid.

"Look at that thing." Wildcard points to the pyramid. They look down and hear the door opening to reveal the president and three other men following.

"What the heck is the president doing here?" Bella looks at Missy.

"So they're inside this thing? All of them?" The president speaks pointing to the pyramid.

"That's correct." A man confirms.

"How long before the takeover begins?" The president looks back at him.

"According to the supreme commander, less than an hour."

"So soon?" The president asks.

"That's what she says, and she's never wrong." The man says causing the kids to glance at each other confused.

"You don't have to remind me. Ever wonder why we bother with all this when she already knows how it's gonna turn out?"

"All part of the process, I suppose." They leave through the doors.

"What is that thing?" Facemaker breaks the short silence.

"You heard him. It's a rocket stuffed to the gills with aliens. In less than an hour, they'll send it down to Earth and start the takeover." Wildcard says.

"Well, then we have to stop them. Let's go." Bella responds, they turn around to find Ms. Granada walking through the doors.

"Do you children have any idea what you've done? Stealing one of our trains? Turning headquarters upside down? Flying an alien shuttle into outer space. Hmm? Well done! Looks like we underestimated your abilities and your leadership qualities. You took a huge risk, but it was the right risk. Headquarters was attacked just minutes after you escaped. If you hadn't broken out, you would have all been captured. And now you've managed to lead us into the heart of this alien mother ship? So proud!" She smiles causing confusion to the kids.

"Wait, so we're not in trouble?"

"Of course not. You are heroes." Ms. Granada smiles once again causing the kids besides Bella and Wheels to cheer.

"Missy! Bella! Her vital signs are all over the place." He says as Ojo shows Bella a drawing of Ms. Granada as a alien. The president walks through the door behind Ms. Granada.

"Save your breath, Granada. They know."

"Uh-oh!"

"Well, then round them up!" She swirls her finger around causing the tentacles to shoot out and grab the kids.

so before I found the deep end of wattpad and when I was inoccent, I wrote something about Bella eating the toast AND EVERYONE AND THEIR DIRTY MINDS CAME I-  don't worry I now am a dirty minded person too
