THE NEXT DAY, VIOLET WENT TO SCHOOL in a more pissed off more than usual. The school was her escape place from family, but also she hated it because Hawk made it miserable.

Violet was on her way to her last class when she felt someone shove her back, making her trip. When she turned around, she saw Hawk, laughing uncontrollably with his friends.

Violet didn't like Hawk's friends either. His karate friends were dicks just like him. The only person she didn't have a bad side with was Demetri.

Demetri was more of the neutral person in Hawk's group. Demetri, Hawk, and Violet were the best trio a second grader could ask for, but when Hawk dropped Violet, Demetri did as well.

Violet glared at the annoying group, but when her eyes landed on Demetri, they softened immediately. She smiled at him and he discreetly returned it, making Violet happy.

For her last class, it went by super slowly, Violet could've taken a nap and wouldn't miss anything.

Violet called her butler and told him to not pick her up today since she wanted to do homework at her secret spot.

Violet's spot was this peaceful stump in the middle of the woods, where she would hear the sounds of birds chirping which made her happy.

Violet took in a deep breath and felt the warmth of the sunshine on her face. She proceeded to do homework for the next few hours.

It didn't matter what time she came home since her parents weren't there to give her a curfew.

As the sun was going down, the sunlight seemed to like Violet's face since it was still reflecting.

However, something or someone blocked the light from Violet's face. She slowly looked up to see the person she never expected.

"Hey Violet, can I talk to you? You know, male specimen to female specimen?" Violet laughed at Demetri and patted the spot next to her so he can sit.

"What's up? Also, why are you talking to me? Wouldn't Eli want you to stay away from me?"

"Yes and no. Eli doesn't know I'm here and I'd like to keep it that way. I came to talk to you."

Violet but her books down, indicating Demetri has her full attention.

"So I wanted to ask how are you going?" Violet scoffed at the preposterous question, wondering why he would go all this way to ask her how she was doing.

"Really, that's all your wanted to ask me? You know if you want to bully me like the rest of your friends then just say so-"

"No I'm serious because at school earlier, you looked a little pale and I remember last time you were that pale, you had to go to the ER remember?" Violet thought back at the traumatizing memories.

It was not a pretty sight to see. Violet was knocked out cold after playing tag with Demetri and Eli. She remembers the memory vividly and quite frankly, she wanted to forget it.

Violet cleared her throat before speaking again. "Well thanks for checking up on me, but I assure you I am fine okay? No, if you'll excuse me, I should be heading home now." Demetri stood up as well and did his best to stop Violet.

"Vivi please let me take you home. I don't want anything to happen to you especially since I was here with you." Violet whipped her head at the nickname Demetri used to call her when they were kids. She was contemplating for a bit, then she decided to get in his car.

"Fine, but let's stop for ice cream first."

"Of course, I can use some dairy for my body."

"You know, I haven't had mint chocolate ice cream ever since-"

"When we built that humongous Lego Modular. Yeah, I remember that vividly." Demetri smiled, thinking of that fond memory.

"Yeah, that was several months before you guys stopped being my friends." The mood was suddenly awkward and Demetri shifted in his seat.

"You know Demetri, can I ask you something?" He nodded his head nervously, wondering what she was going to say.

"What happened with us? Like why does Eli hate me so much?"

"Violet, I really don't know what to tell you. All I remember was that Eli said you betrayed him or something."

Violet was trying to think what he meant by that. As she was thinking, her thoughts were interrupted by the bell from the door ringing.

Violet noticed Demetri's eyes went wide. "Violet you need to leave right now."

"What? What do you mean?" Violet turned around and saw the one and only Eli Moskowitz.

"Violet please leave. I can't be seen with you." Violet scoffed at Demetri.

"Please, I'm sorry, but trust me you're not the only one scared of him."

"Oh trust me I'm not scared of him." Violet got up and was about to leave the ice cream parlor until she felt someone grab her arm. Harshly.

"The hell are you doing here Sharkie?" Hawk aggressively made Violet turn around, making her even angrier.

"Just came to get my regular dose of ice cream, now let me go." Hawk didn't even budge. He just gripped her arm tighter and took her outside the ice cream parlor.

"I know when you're lying to me. The last time you went here was in second grade so tell me the truth." Hawk was getting impatient and Violet could tell.

" I told you, I was just here for ice cream." With that, Violet ripped her arm away from Hawk's grip, making him angry but she didn't care.

"Hey! Don't walk away from me. We're not done talking about this."

"I am," Violet sassily said, making her smile slightly before walking her way home.

Yeah...... I just pulled an all nighter. Anyways, I'm going to sleep now. I hope you all enjoyed the second chapter ❤️
