1. first day of school

VIOLET OCEAN WAS A REGULAR SCHOOL girl. Her family came from a pretty rich background. It was no doubt her family had money.
Her family also had connections to the royal family, which is why events with the royals can be a pain because of Hawk.
Going to a prestigious private school meant having fake friends and cocky jocks who ruled the school. Violet, however, wasn't either. Being a quiet girl meant she was more of a loner with very few friends.
Also, her arch-enemy was the prince. Eli Moskowitz. At school, he is the most rebellious kid and would wear his hair in a mohawk and would go by Hawk instead of his actual name.
The only time he would wear his hair down would be for formal events with his parents. The king and queen were also not happy to see he dyed his hair red.
Violet and Eli use to be best friends back in second grade, but something snapped in him and they have been enemies ever since.
Today was her first day back at the most prestigious school anyone can go to and Violet was not looking forward to it.
When Violet arrived at school, she went to her locker and started to put her books away. When Violet closed it, she saw the person she was dreading to see all day, leaning on the locker next to hers.
Prince Eli Moskowitz, but at school, he goes by Hawk.
"Well hello, there Sharkie."
Sharkie was the annoying childhood nickname Hawk always had for Violet since her last name was Ocean and sharks had a big mouth and sharp teeth. Violet would always talk back to Hawk, which is why he calls her that.
"What do you want Urchin?"
Urchin was the childhood nickname for Hawk since he was an annoying thorn in Violet's life.
"Nothing, just here to give you my daily annoyance. By the way, you look awful as usual." Hawk winked, then walked past her, bumping into her shoulder making her drop her books.
"Dick," Violet whispered so only she could hear.
After she closed her locker, she walked down the halls embracing her preppy school uniform. She didn't want to admit it, but the uniform was pretty cute with the plaid skirts and ties.
Violet dropped her books once again when she bumped into someone.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, here let me help you."
After the boy helped her pick up the books, they stood up, making eye contact with each other.
"Wow, you're gorgeous, I-I-I-I mean w-well, erm- I'm Miguel." He stuck out his hand for Violet to shake.
She chuckled then shook his hand firmly. "Hi Miguel, I'm Violet. I have never seen you here before, are you new?"
"Yeah, I am. Private schools are actually pretty new to me." Violet chuckled, making Miguel smile.
"Well, welcome to Sapphire Academy. I can show you around if you like." Violet smiled, welcoming a Miguel.
"Yeah, that be great." Miguel smiled back, their eyes staring intently into each other.
The school bell rang indicating they had to go to class.
"Well, Miguel, let me show you to your first class." Miguel followed Violet and went on their way to class.
Violet's shoulders shivered and she couldn't help but feel eyes on her. Her eyes diverted to where she felt the stare.
When she scanned her surroundings, she saw Hawk, with an angry, almost jealous look on his face. She scrunched her nose in confusion why Hawk would look at her like that.
*❀❁❀*
When Violet arrived home, her parents were both at work. Nothing new for her really, she basically grew up without parents since they were gone so often.
She went straight to her room to start homework and did that for several hours.
While Violet was doing homework, she heard the front door open. She ran downstairs to see her dad home.
"Dad!" Violet ran up to her father and gave him a hug.
"Hey, kiddo. How was school?"
"You know the usual, I go to classes and correct the teachers," Violet sarcastically said.
"Well, good for you honey. I'm glad you had a good day at school," Her dad chuckled.
"Oh, since you're home early, I was thinking maybe we could-"
"Violet, I only came home to get a few more things for work. I have to be back in about fifteen minutes. I'm sorry honey, next time!" Violet frowned, hoping she was able to have some time with her father, but as usual, work before his kid.
Violet walked upstairs again, her posture was slumped, sad because she was alone again.
Even though she had a rich family and a big house, it never felt like a home.
She flopped on her bed and sighed, exhausted from her crappy mental health. Violet was close to falling asleep, but the sound of her phone vibrating, woke her up.
As she grabbed her phone, she scrunched her eyebrows, wondering why he would be calling her.
"What do you want you annoying Urchin?" Violet sighed, not in the mood to talk to Hawk.
"I want to know who you were talking to at school earlier." His voice was serious and low, slightly intimidating Violet.
She was wondering why Hawk would call her for that one reason.
"His name is Miguel, he's new. Why do you want to know who he is?"
"No reason." With that, Hawk hung up leaving Violet confused. She brushed it off for a while and plopped back on her bed again.
She tried to fall asleep but there was only one thing on her mind.
Hawk.
