Chapter 32

Season 4
Chapter One: The Hellfire Club
(Part 1)

The short-haired girl stood in front of her mirror standing against her light brown dresser, pulling her bottom eyelid down slightly so she could apply mascara onto her bottom lashes. She had woken up late for the  pep rally and hadn't had enough time to do her hair, so instead, she threw her hair into a pony-tail with small strands framing her face and quickly threw on jeans, converse, Steve's grey jack and a red t-shirt. She turned her head as she heard her door open to see her sister Max walking over to her bed and dropping down with a sigh.

"What's up?" Olivia questioned, looking at her sister in the mirror as she finished doing her mascara. "You okay?"

"I don't wanna go to this stupid pep rally thing." Max complained, dropping her headphones around her neck as she tucked her hair behind her ear. Olivia pursed her lips, knowing that it could've been because her and Lucas had broken up last year and it was still difficult for her to be around the boy, or maybe because Olivia had noticed how Max continued to be more distant and kept to herself about a lot of things, but knew to go to her older sister at any time.

"Is it because Lucas is gonna be there?" The short-haired girl questioned with a raised brow, Max rolling her eyes.

"No." She said hesitantly, looking down at her headphone wire, fidgeting with it in her hands.

"You sure?" Olivia put down her mascara, turning around as she watched her sister look down awkwardly, the adult practically able to see through her sister's lies ever since she had moved in with her. "Look, don't go if you don't want to. You know, you are welcome to get a ride with Steve if you do want to go. But, don't get in trouble by the school if you skip it." Olivia warned, Max nodding at the adult with pursed lips.

"It's fine. I'll take the bus." Max shrugged, standing up from her spot on her sister's bed and walking torwards the door. "See you later." With that, Max slid her headphones back over her ears, pressing the play button on the tape as she walked out of Olivia's room. The dark-haired girl nodded at Max as she watched her leave, then quickly throwing her shoes on and walking out of the door. She ran into the kitchen of the trailer, throwing away beer cans from her mom's mess last night. Her head whipped around at the sound of a car honking, the girl cursing under her breath as she sped walk torwards the door, shoving a pile of blankets out of her way.

As she walked out of the door, she looked out at Steve's car, beginning to walk down the trailer stairs when she noticed the pile of mail stacked on the steps. "Shit." She quickly collected the out dated mail, throwing them on a bench by the porch, then running back out to Steve's car. She got into the back seat with a sigh, only for the sole purpose of Robin using the front mirror to do her make-up. She huffed as she shut the door behind her, leaning down on the seat.

"Morning." She muttered tiredly, leaning forward in her seat as she watched Robin apply her make-up, then turning to Steve and pressing a quick kiss to his cheek before he drove out of her driveway and torwards the school.

As they continued driving down the road, Steve began discussing movie night with the two girls and which movies they were going to watch, which they did almost every week. However, Olivia seemed to be the only one giving feed back since Robin was distracted with her appearance. "What are we thinking? Grease? Uh... The Outsiders? Oh! What about- Robin! Are you even listening?" Steve questioned, turning to Robin who sat in the front seat applying her mascara.

"Uh, yes." She turned to Steve with a shrug.

"What did I just say?" Steve questioned, looking back at the road.

"Something about watching, uh... Footloose?" Robin guessed, Steve and Olivia both dropping their heads back.

"No, we're talking about The Outsiders!" Steve shouted, looking over at the short-haired girl in annoyance. Olivia smiled, shaking her head as she looked between the frustrated Steve and the frantic Robin.

"Cut me some slack, please." Robin argued. "Our movie night is the least of my problmes right now and it is 7:00 in the morning, we have the stupid pep rally, and I woke up looking like a total corpse." Robin said, stretching her skin down in frustration, Olivia scoffing from the back seat.

"You're worried about a pep rally? Expect me to believe that?" Steve questioned, looking over at the stressed girl in disbelief.

"Yeah? So?"

"So we all know what this is about." Steve said, pointing between him, his girlfriend in the back and Robin in the front. "Not buying that. This is about Vickie." Olivia quickly smiled, laughing as she leaned closer to the front.

"Absolutely not." Robin clarified flatly, although neither Steve or Olivia believed her.

"Yeah, sure, 'cause Robin Buckly puts that much make-up on in this early of the morning. I mean, it looks good, but you're lying." Olivia teasted, Steve nodding in agreement as he watched his girl talk.

"It is. You know what else?" Steve added on.

"I don't care-"

"You gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you're around her." Olivia's eyebrows raised in shock as she listened to her boyfriend give such good advice. He always found it easy when he was talking to Olivia, but she never knew it all was true until now. "You just gotta be yourself."

"You're literally quoting me to me. You do realize that." Robin looked over at Steve blankly, pointing between him and herself.

"Maybe you need to listen to yourself. Ever think about that?" Steve suggested, shrugging at Robin. "I listened. Look at me. Boom. Got the best girlfriend." He said as a matter-of-fact, pointing in the back seat as Olivia blushed, smiling to herself.

"Okay, yeah, you do, but... It's not the same thing. Okay?" Robin questioned, her tone relaxing slightly as she looked over at Steve with her makeup in her hands.

"Well..." Steve shrugged, not knowing what else to say.

"You ask out a girl and she says no, theoretically, of course." Robin said, pointing over to Olivia in the back seat, who had her brow raised in question. "Big deal. Nothing happens. Theoretically, maybe your ego's a little bruised. I ask out the wrong girl, and bam, I'm a town pariah." Olivia tilted her head with a disbelieved glare, looking at Robin warningly.

"That's not true." The dark-haired girl tried to reassure her friend, but she continued to think otherwise.

"I'd buy that, except Vickie is definitely not the wrong girl." Steve argued.

"We just don't know that, do we?" The blonde girl shrugged, turning to Steve with a disbelieved glare, the girl clearly not trusting what her friends had to say. She knew that they supported her coming out and they would never judge her, but she knew that other people would and she didn't want that kind of hate, understandably. Robin then turned back torward, spraying something into her mouth, which she quickly gagged at.

"She returned Fast Times paused at 53 minutes, 5 seconds. "Know who pauses Fast Times as 53 minutes, 5 seconds?" Steve questioned, Olivia furrowing her brows in confusion while Robin clenched her jaw. Steve stared forward awkwardly before yelling. "People who like boobies, Robin." Olivia's eyes widened as she laughed, looking over at Steve.

"Ew! Gross. Don't say boobies." Robin cringed, turning torwards Steve.

"Not a big deal, okay? I like boobies." Steve shrugged, pointing over to Olivia in the back seat, making Robin cringe even more as did Olivia, since the two haven't actually slept together yet, dropping her face in her hands. "You like boobies." Steve then stopped talking, turning back forward before shouting, "Vickie likes boobies. Definitely. It's boobies." He shrugged, Olivia shaking her head as she patted his shoulder.

"Babe. Stop talking." Olivia begged flatly, Steve nodding with pursed lips before turning to look at her.

"Yes, ma'am." The brunette boy nodded sharply as Olivia leaned into the front seat all of the way, reaching in between Robin and Steve as she turned up the radio, Robin still clenching her jaw in annoyance.

Once Steve had pulled up to the school, he found a tight parking spot, Robin quickly jumping out of the car and reaching for her band equiptment as she called out for a friend in the distance.

"Good luck!" Olivia shouted out to Robin, who gave her a nervous thumbs up before running over to her friend, Olivia smiling, she slid out of the back seat and moved to the passenger seat. Steve quickly reached for her hand, lacing their fingers together before pressing a kiss to her knuckles as he started the car, driving off before the school had gotten too crowded. He leaned over to her slightly so she could hear him. "What do you wanna do while we wait?" He questioned, muttering close to her ear so she could hear him over the large crowds of students shouted excitedly.

"Ooh, let's go get food." Olivia said with an excited smile, Steve rolling his eyes as he found it cute when she would get excited over little things, and it was a completely normal thing since it had been a frequent occurrence throughout their relationship.

Steve puckered his lips in thought before turning back to her. "Burger King." Steve said with a smile, Olivia laughing as she recalled all of the times they would choose that small restaurant over any other place which they had never been to.

When Olivia watched as Steve stared down to admire her features, she raised her brows while leaning closer to him. "What are you waiting for?" She questioned, smirking at him as he leaned back with a soft groan, a grin on his lips as he nodded. Steve started the car, glancing over at Olivia once more.

"Sorry." He muttered through a grin. "It's just... Couldn't help it. You're beautiful." Olivia felt her heart melt as he glanced at her slightly, trying to keep his eyes on the road. The two had always exchanged talk like that, Steve the most, but no matter how many times he said it, her words always got caught in her throat.

"I love you." Olivia muttered softly, continuing to hold his hand as they drove down the road, turning to face him slightly. He looked down at her enticingly, kissing her knuckle before turning back to the road.

"I love you, more." He muttered, Olivia shaking her head.

"Not possible." She insisted, shaking her head again as she tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.

Steve cleared his throat as he nodded, running his thumb along the back of her hand slowly. "Very possible." The brunette boy insisted, Olivia not arguing with him since she found it cute.

The next day Olivia had been picked up by Steve, the two now walking up to their spot in the bleachers, Steve holding her hand as she found their spots. The girl had a large smile on her face as she looked out in the crowd to find Lucas, immediately spotting him. Her smile quickly fell when she noticed that he was looking around anxiously, causing Olivia to search for Dustin, Max and Mike.

She clenched her jaw when she noticed they weren't in the stands after her second check of finding them. She didn't understand how they couldn't bother to show up for their best friend, and she knew she would be speaking to her sister about it. Steve looked down at her as she stood with an angered expression, the boy immediately put his arm around her shoulder and squeezing her close to him. "You okay?"

Olivia looked up at Steve, the girl turning her head away from the crowd. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine. I don't see Mike, Dustin and Max." She told her boyfriend, his brows furrowed before he began looking around.

"Oh, um... They're probably out there." He tried to reassure her, but by the look on Lucas' face, they both could tell that they weren't and it was clearly making him upset.

"Those little shits." Olivia muttered quietly, shaking her head as she crossed her arms. Steve let out a small chuckle as he rubbed her arm.

"Okay, okay. Chill, it's okay." He said through a smile, Olivia nodding to him with pursed lips. She watched as Lucas looked around, his eyes quickly passing her, then trailing back to the girl as he smiled, glad to see someone there for him. Lucas quickly waved to Steve and Olivia, the girl, without question, waving back.

Olivia looked over to her right to see Robin holding up a trumpet to her lips, her fingers moving to the buttons as her brows formed in concentration. The short-haired girl smiled before turning back to Steve as he began speaking of Dustin, Mike and Max.

The loud music and talking in the gymnasium was cut short when a man in his forties walked up to the microphone in the middle of the room, holding his arms out. "Everyone now please rise for our national anthem. Singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, our very own Tammy Thompson!"

The crowd began cheering as a blonde girl dressed in a light pink dress and white cover walked into the room, waving at everyone. Olivia watched as Steve's eyes widened torwards Robin, the girl confused.

The crowd soon fell silent as Tammy put her mouth to the microphone, the blonde girl slowly beginning to sing into the microphone. Olivia cringed slightly as the mic squealed back, pressing her hand to her chest. Steve exchanged a cringed glare to Robin, Olivia frowning in confusion. They clearly knew something she didn't.

"Told you." Steve whispered. "Muppet."

"Okay, she does sound like a Muppet." Robin mouthed back to Steve, Olivia still watching in confusion.

"I'm sorry? What?" Olivia leaned forward towards Steve, whispering in his direction. Steve smiled, turning to his girlfriend.

"So, like, it's this joke me and Robin have. Tammy. Muppet. Miss Piggy." Steve whispered back, Olivia staring at him with squinted eyes and a confused glare. After a while, she finally understood what he was seeing, the girl snorting a quiet laugh as she looked over at the blonde girl singing. Olivia nodded to Steve.

"Okay, sure." She whispered, Steve nodding to Olivia with a told-you-so smile, which she rolled her eyes at playfully.

The game was at a tie, Olivia smiling widely as Lucas was called onto the court at the last few seconds of the game. Olivia smiled as she watched Lucas get into the game in shock, everyone cheering for him. At the last few seconds, Lucas had captured the ball, throwing up into the air at the last four seconds, the ball slowly dancing around the basket rim before in fell into the net, everyone quickly jumping up in cheers and shouting, Olivia laughing as she applauded Lucas. His teammates gathered the dark-skinned boy up into the air, quickly putting him down as they continued celebrating their victory.

After the bleachers began emptying, Olivia took it as her chance to run down from her spot, Steve looking at her in shock before quickly running after her. The girl ran up to Lucas, the boy smiling as he turned to notice her. "Hey! You did it!" Olivia shouted, cheering for the boy as he wrapped his arms around her abdomen, a wider smile on his lips if it was possible.

"You came. I thought everyone was gonna miss it." Olivia noticed what he had been talking about, and her mind suddenly wandered to Max, Dustin and Mike, and felt sorrow for the boy.

"Of course I came. Don't worry about them." Olivia muttered, shaking her head at Lucas as she noticed how upset he still looked. "I'm proud of you." She smiled, hugging him once more before his team swept him away and all of them getting into their separate cars for what she figured was their after party. Olivia turned back to Steve with a smile before they met with Robin, the three shortly after leaving the school.
