The night had gotten deeper, moonlight filtering through the silky blue curtains; casting a silvery gleam over the hard wooden floor of Beomgyu's room, the cool February night-breeze making slow whirring sounds admist the quiet of night accompanied with the hooting of a owl somewhere in distance.
Nights like these were usually Beomgyu's favourite, filling him with motivation to work on song lyrics or a new melody for producing a new beat, but being in a situation like his current one, it was hard to say Beomgyu fancied it.
The silence was getting suffocating from him, as he watched the demon lounge on his sofa like it was supposed to be something ordinary, while Verena was already back in her feline form, napping beside her superior like an ordinary cat.
Seeing the hell-beings so relaxed, it confused Beomgyu. Weren't they supposed to make a plan and decide how this demon is going to fulfill his wish?
He couldn't take the questions swirling inside his head anymore, finally deciding to voice out his thoughts.
"Won't you make a plan?" He asked away, gazing at the demon who looked back at him with a bored expression.
"Plan for what? It's simple. Just kill your ex, it's the easiest way to not being stalked," answered the demon, his voice monotone, devoid of any real emotion, making Beomgyu pissed.
Didn't he say he specify he didn't want him dead? Was this demon deaf?
"I told you I don't want him dead, Mr.Demon," he complained, eyes wide in exasperation from the sheer stubbornness of this hell-being.
"That's no fun," the demon replied, not even sparing him a single glance, focusing on the way Verena's tail swished on the sofa instead.
"It's not supposed to be fun!" Beomgyu exclaimed, already distressed from this demon's antics. These stubborn and cheeky little devil's, he should have known. With a huff, he added "you're supposed to fulfill my wish, or I won't give you access to my body," he spat, trying to threaten the other.
Hearing Beomgyu's words, Verena chukled while Yeonjun let out a loud laugh, making Beomgyu furrow his eyebrows in annoyance.
"You won't? Do you think you have a say in this matter here, hm? The moment we completed the contract, your body became mine. How silly of you to think I need your 'permission'. You're mine to control now, Sweetheart," the demon chuckled, getting up from his position, ambling towards the shorter, making Beomgyu step backwards until his calves hit the bed's bottom-side rail, eventually resulting in him losing his balance as he fell on the mattress, back hitting the soft fabric of his bedsheet, making them rustle.
"Keep in mind, you can only command me thrice. I'm a demon, not your friend," the ravennete whispered, looming over Beomgyu, caging him on the bed with his arms, their faces merely inches apart from each other.
Beomgyu's heart thudded against his chest, his breath hitching as he looked up into the demon's eyes. They were so close that he could see every detail of the other's face, the sharp angles of his jaw, the slant of his dark eyes, the amused twist of his mouth.
"This isn't what I wished for," he protested weakly, even as his whole body trembled with unexplainable feelings.
The demon smirked, obviously enjoying the effect he was having on the brunette. He leaned in even closer, his breath tickling Beomgyu's ear.
"I'm not your fairy godmother, sweetheart," he murmured, his voice low and deep. "You should have been specific about your wish. Maybe you'll learn your lesson next time."
Beomgyu's heart was racing, the proximity of the demon sending all his senses into overdrive. He clenched his fists, trying to steady his breathing.
"I-I did specify," he said, his voice cracking a little despite his attempt to sound defiant. "I want you to be my fake-boyfriend in University so I can live in peace and not get stalked by my ex boyfriend, I don't need him dead!"
The demon let out a low chuckle, his eyes gleaming with an amused light. "Oh, you're so naive," he teased, his finger tracing a lazy path down Beomgyu's jawline, the gentle touch sending a shiver down the other's spine.
"Do you really think your little 'fake-boyfriend' act is going to stop your ex from harassing you? From stalking you? You poor, delusional fool," the demon continued, his lips curling into a smile that was more mocking than reassuring.
Beomgyu felt a shiver of fear and defensiveness at the demon's words. He wanted to argue, to protest, but the truth was, he had to admit that the demon was right. His ex had a reputation for being obsessive and persistent.
"Well, what do you suggest then?" he snapped back, trying to mask his uncertainty.
The demon chuckled again, clearly enjoying their little verbal sparring match. He bent down even closer, his breathe fanning Beomgyu's face.
"Oh, don't worry your little head about it," he murmured, his voice deep and silky. "I have plenty of ways to deal with your little problem. You just worry about holding up your end of the bargain, and leave the rest to me."
The demon's words made Beomgyu gulp, eyes staring back at those pools of dark void, getting lost in it's depth, until the sound of the Ravennete's chuckle brought him out of his trance.
"Like my face that much Sweetheart?" He chuckled, making space between them, finally letting the flustered and afraid boy breath, cheeks flushing a pretty shade of pink from the tease.
"A-as if! I'm not into demons," he huffed defiantly, turning his head away, heart racing so loud inside his ribcage, he feard the demon could hear it.
"Do whatever you think sounds fit, just don't kill him please..." he whispered softly, avoiding the demon's eyes, the innocent look on his face making the demon chuckle.
What an interesting human, not even an ounce of malice in him, unlike himself.
"You should have summoned an Angel instead of me, silly human," sighed the demon, amused by his persistence.
Maybe, some humans still had a pure heart.
Naive humans, they were easy prey to be consumed and used by malicious predators, twisted and torn until nothing but the traces of their once pure innocence was left, shattered and forgotten in the dark abyss of greed and hatred.
He took a look at the human, and sighed.
"What a pity."
