July 10th, 1992.

Richie rolls his eyes and sighs, glancing away from his comic book only long enough to get a good look at the boy in the blue shirt that was playfully glaring at him. It was Eddie Kaspbrak with his slightly tanned arms crossed over his chest.

"Richie, you know the rules," Eddie scolds, pointing at him. "Ten minutes in the hammock. Everyone agreed with it. You did too. It's in a written agreement somewhere around here."

"Eddie, we agreed verbally," Richie retorts, looking back at his comic book. "And the others don't seem to mind. It's just you that's whining and complaining."

Eddie's cheeks go pink in anger and he puffs his cheeks out. Currently, it was only Richie and Eddie in the little clubhouse that Ben had built underground. The other Losers were out gathering supplies for their little meal that they were going to have.

"Well then scoot your stick ass over," Eddie hisses, his tone obviously playful. "At least share if you're going to hog it."

Eddie takes a few steps closer and Richie sprawls out more, making sure to take up all of the room on the hammock. That didn't seem to stop Eddie though who's grown a confidence boost since he was thirteen ( now sixteen ). He walks a little closer to the hammock, dodging or blocking Richie's light kicks at him to make him go away.

After a while of arguing and kicking and crushed fingers ( mostly Eddie's ), they were both settled into the hammock. Richie's head was on one side while Eddie's was at the other end, their legs tangled together in a jumbled mess.

Richie rolls his eyes and groans, going back to reading his hammock. Eddie was grinning triumphantly to himself as he grabbed a comic book from the dirt floor of their clubhouse. His eyes scan over the pictures in the comic book before he glances over at Richie, watching him read.

"Whatcha reading?" Eddie asks, lightly kicking his sock-covered foot at his cheek. "Anything interesting?"

"Something about the zombie apocalypse," Richie says, glancing back at the brunette laying in the hammock with him. "Why, you wanna read it with me, Eddie-Bear?"

Richie was being completely playful but Eddie took it seriously. The brunette nods his head and replies with a quick 'yes' before rearranging them both on the hammock. Within a minute or two after all of Eddie's wiggling, they were intertwined.

Eddie's head was resting on Richie's chest comfortably so he could see the comic book and their legs were tangled together more than before. The curly-headed teen had an arm jammed underneath Eddie's body ( which he managed to wiggle out in order to hold the comic book ). One of the brunette's arms were comfortably wrapped around Richie and the other one was laid against his chest carefully.

"I was joking, Eds," Richie murmurs, not bothering to move the smaller teen.

"And I wasn't. Now shush and let me read the book."

"Are you sure that you don't want me to read it to you?" Richie teases.

"Mmm, on second thought, read for me," Eddie says, smirking playfully.

Richie scoffs and moves one of his hands to smack Eddie upside his head gently. The things that he would do for this boy... The things that bisexual Richie Tozier would do for the boy that he adored.

"Fine, fine, fine," Richie says. "Only because you enjoy my voice too much."

Eddie laughs gently and listens as Richie starts to read the comic aloud to him. It made him sigh softly in content and relax against the lanky teen below him. Being with Richie always made him feel comfortable like he could trust him.

After a little while of reading, Eddie stops him.

"Rich?" Eddie questions softly.

"Yeah, Eds?" Richie murmurs softly as he stopped his reading.

"I gotta tell you something..."

"Shoot, Dr. K."

"I've thought about this for a really long time," Eddie starts out slowly, swallowing thickly. "And... And I've come to the conclusion that I'm... I'm... Richie... I'm gay."

Richie stays silent for a minute, his stomach doing flips in his body. His heart was beating hard against his chest and he could tell that Eddie could hear it. He was pleasantly surprised at the news and it caused him to grin. Maybe... Just maybe he had a chance.

"Say something, Rich..."

"Eddie," Richie starts. "Since you wanna play the come out card... I'm gonna play a reverse card and do the same. Eddie Spaghetti, my wonderful boy, I play for both teams... Like, boys and girls..."

Eddie snorts softly and grins, turning his head to look at Richie with surprised eyes. He was genuinely surprised that Richie even played for the same team, at least a little bit. It made his heart swell though.

"Thanks for coming out of the hammock, Rich," Eddie teases. "I appreciate the news."

Richie playfully ruffles his hair and pulls the brunette closer. His heart was still racing and he could feel as his pale cheeks turned a bright shade of red. He really wanted Eddie to feel the same about him now. It was too good to be true that this boy was gay.

The curly-headed teen stays silent for a minute, carefully pushing his coke-bottle framed glasses up the bridge of his nose. He takes a deep breath and uses a hand to grab Eddie's chin between his index finger and thumb. Richie makes Eddie look at him before trying to find any sense of fear or rejection in his eyes... And when he saw nothing, he made his move.

Richie kissed him.

And Eddie kissed back.

Richie pulls away from the brunette's soft lips before grinning sheepishly. His face was bright red in embarrassment and his eyes were slightly widened in surprise that Eddie even kissed him back.

"Mmm, I'm guessing there's something else you gotta tell me," Eddie breathes out, his face bright red as he looked at Richie.

"Yeah..."

"Shoot." Eddie murmurs.

"I... I think I love you, Eddie..."

Eddie couldn't help but to laugh gently, looking at the curly-headed teen.

"I love you too, Richie..."

And with that, they kissed again.
